Simply put, the holy-mongering-trifecta for me now is CTG-MDE-CALI, and then Angeles City, in that order. Even with the few days I had in MDE, which only brushed the tip of the veritable iceberg, I can easily see that MDE is a MUST return destination which has, and will have, lots to offer in terms of mongering and non-mongering interests. I'm certain that the more time I spend in MDE, the more I'll grow to love it.

I had interesting discussions with several MDE veteran mongers this trip, the conversations invariably turning to the hope that MDE will remain the pristine monger destination that it is today. That's certainly my wish as well, and I debated with myself how much or how little info and pics to post of MDE because of that thought. With that said, it ultimately came down to my need to write and post as post-trip therapy and, more importantly, to fulfill the mission of this board to share and exchange valualbe information with the others on this board so that each monger can make an educated choice about Colombia. Afterall, if it wasn't for WS and Sukhumvitter's reports and others, I would have never considered checking out MDE and I shudder to think I would have ignorantly missed out on this Golden opportunity. Moreover, I still think MDE is still vastly misunderstood, and it does take some extra effort and money to get to, for instance the airline connections suck compared to CTG or Cali on most airlines.

Anyway, CTG is getting on the radar map, for the first time in many trips I'm being excluded at some of the apartments that I usually go to. Several of the gals at LDV are getting mercenary, which is why I don't spend too much time there. I really hope it'll never get crowded with mongers like San Jose Costa Rica. The whole beauty of Colombia is that it's wide open usually.

Cali will always be near and dear to my heart for its active casa scene and the wonderful opportunities to hookup with some solid non-pros. But honestly, the city and it's offerings (except for the nice malls) can't hold a candle to MDE.

As of now, CTG still remains one of my top destinations simply because I've invested so much time and energy in that place and I've become intimately familiar with the scene and the gals. It also comes into play that I grew up in So.Cal with the lively beach scene and can never get enough of the laid back atmosphere of the surf and sun. I just wish it wasn't so damned hot and humid.

Hehe, CONCARNE, reverse psych-ops used by counter-intelligence, make it seem so unreal that people will not believe :-) Works better than directly announcing how dangerous Colombia is. I really appreciate the words of encouragement and I'm glad I can constructively use my post-trip restlessness. That morena spinner is to die for.

Here's an edited response I gave to a PM to a few Hombres that may be relevant in clarifying a few things.

"1. I found most things, incliuding a nice dinner, is a bit more expensive in CTG. But by U.S. standards, still very cheap. A nice dinner for two at a good restauarant in CTG will still be about $20 bucks, whereas in MDE it was about $15 avg.

2. Plenty of light skinned gals in CTG. I don't think the attitude is anything to worry about, but there are more gals with that 'tude at LDV....

3. The Aparta Suites where I stayed was 110,000 pesos a night for a single, plus 30K per night for guests that stay overnight."

When I was there last month in May, it was the first time I have ever encountered so many Isreali mongerers in a single place. They were speaking an very unfamiliar language for me(Yiddish?), but a PitBoss at a casino confirm my guess.

HM, I only wish they had these types of topics for dissertation themes. Would've loved to have defend my thesis in front of my peers --"empiricle evidence clearly shows that morenas are better at sucking dick and I cite to Epi, Chap 2, verse 3 for the supposition..." Haha. Thanks for the kudos, such kind words deserve dinner on me. Give me a ring when you're free.

Sf4: I noticed the same thing this trip, lots of Israelis and quite a few Europeans (Italians and Spainards) this trip, evidenced by those gawd-awful speedos and the blinding beerbellies. I don't recall seeing so many Isrealis before, but then again, the perceived dangers of Colombia must be nothing to them compared to the West Bank.

Great report as always. I'm glad to see you rank Medellin so high, especially after only one trip. It's hard to compare it to CTG - totally different.

If you really like the ocean, than it's easier to overlook the oppressive heat, lack of good AC, incessant touts and general touristy feel that are major components of CTG. Thankfully, MDE is free of those blights.

I don't think MDE will get overrun anytime soon. Just not easy or cheap to get there.

Sandy, thanks for the kind words. Man, I wish I had your luck to be working in Colombia long term. From what you write and from what others say, Bogota isn't much compared to CTG and MDE.

WS, I also don't think, and hope, MDE will get overrun with mongers/tourists. You also nicely encapsulated the negatives of CTG, I hope you don't mind me translating it in Italian, Spanish and Yiddish and posting it on the other boards

Concerning israeli mongers in columbia and the history of these medellin women descendent of spanish jews-it makes sense. I asked an Israeli i Know he said Israelis guys go to Columbia and Thailand all the time for mongering

The Israeli guys were pretty cool in general, much better behaved than some others at the casas/beaches. Some of them I spoke with were military guys on leave, the gals seem to totally dig them.

i saw more of the israli guys in ctg, in particular, la tripletara and giro mato. Many are there to party with drugs, and try to invite ladies over to party. Most co p4p gals i know aren't too fond of them.

Most are pretty mellow, but can get intense when high on coca. Almost got into it with a guy from lebanon one of the bars. They travel in groups so keep that in mind.
