I've been told by friends from this board (in no uncertain terms) that no one wants to see boring face shots of ugly girls. I've also been characterized as "brave" for putting these pics of the ugly girls up here.

I didn't think the girls I posted in my Batam thread were ugly, but gauging by the scores garnered by my pics I am forced to agree.

I considered having Hombre remove this TR. He could place the pics into the vast pit that is the gallery where they would sit and gather dust - wallowing in mediocrity for the rest of their days. This would free me up to work on other projects I considered important...

I went into the gallery and looked at the highest score pics on the site. Well, lo and behold, there aren't that many "faces" with scores in the 8s.

My review of our gallery taught me a few things:

I can cut off half (or more) of a girl's head, but if she's got big funbags it'll get an 8+.

I can post a pic of a girls torso only, but if she's got big teeters it'll get an 8+.

I can post a picture of a girl with her ass toward the camera, and if the hint of vagina is detected it'll get an 8+.

Label it from a South American country and the picture is FAR more likely to get an 8+.

Hmmm - tits (head optional) and/or ass (legs & torso optional) from South America. This left me with little to work with.

I reviewed my pics. Well, yes, there do seem to be some "beauty challenged" girls in here. I warmed up the delete key and started working.

The end result is a TR that will have few women, butt more of what draws the crowds. Yeah, I can do this.

So, for THIS stage of the report I decided to head to South America. I found a small country there called Thailombia (VERY small - not listed on any maps - etc). I've heard different people talk about the TRs and the pics they post. Some only want to see the pretty girls. I understand that. Others want to see what the talent base actually LOOKS like in a given region - ALL the talent. I was attempting do display those other, less visually stunning, zit covered girls that are available.

This is not about fear of getting "outed". This has already happened to me in AC and I'm sure that ass is still out doing the same thing - I'm just not going to let that stop me from taking pics. This is about whether people on this site really WANT to see the pics I'm posting.

There are pics from my last TR that have roughly ten votes. TEN!! Part of it is Hombre was placing, literally, hundreds into the gallery each and every day. I don't blame most people for not bothering to go through each and every photo assessing, evaluating, then quantifying their opinions hundreds of times a day. It's still about having fun.

This is one reason why I'm dropping fewer pics on the site at a time. This is nice to people on slower connections and it's a LOT nicer to Hombre. My last TR I dropped close to 100mb worth of pics on the site in less then 30 hours. This slowed the site for EVERYONE. Fewer pics allow people to get a better look at 'em - easier to take your time.

I actually WAS shooting with two different flashes - one had a VERY small softbox attached and the other was bouncing off the ceiling. The problems with taking photos in those DI rooms is they're a light pit. You cannot use the walls for bounce and the ceiling just doesn't reflect enough. The Batamcia pics look better with the flash because I could bounce off walls and ceilings - softening the flash considerably.

Now, I travel with two lightstands along with two silver and one satin umbrella. This is why the LAST batch of pics I emailed you look a LOT better then these. Needless to say, this new solution is far superior.

In all fairness, I must point out that having photographed both Issan women and Garotas, the Garotas photograph much better.

I will also say though, that many a Garota who looked fine in a pic, looked less fine in person. I also found that none of the Thai ladies' pictures look anywhere as good as they do in person. The possible exception do have high ratings here, but while I was in Thailand, I saw stunners on every street and there were spinners everywhere. I don't know why the board has such a bias toward the Garotas, other than perhaps it is so much easier and cheaper to get to South and Latin America that the vast majority ofmongers here have not gone to SEA.

Agreed. The Asians don't seem to look as good in most of the pics. Bahtman, AV8TR and I have been trying to change that with our DSLRs, but most pics taken do not represent how mindboggling beautiful some of these women are.

Asians have a particular "look" that some do not appreciate. Better for them (and me) they're not on these long haul flights to SEA.

You mentioned spinners and I must say that many people on this site (DeeG for example) do not find girls with the "spinner" characteristics to be attractive. That's not a bad thing. Some gents just prefer women that are more "substantial". Hell, I've even been known to go with girls that are close to 100lbs!!

I am not really that into asian women but I can still somewhat appreciate somewhat the skills that go into Epi's photos. It looks like the ratings are going through the roof also!

IMNSHO, Asia chicks are hot due to their body shape, asian facial features, and petite size. However, they lead a rough life, have a terrible diet, don't exercise, sit around and drink most of the day, etc-- which is why most look like shit in pics. They're skin, and at times flab, ruins it when their out of clothing... not to mention early preggies and the subsequent stretch marks-- UGHH. Now that I'm taking photography a little more serious, I'll try to add to the fine work of bahtman and Sir epi in SEA.

Regardless of tastes and opinions on who is HOT and who is NOT, Epi should be congradulated for his time and resource investment in taking photos for this group. I know his enthusiasm has rekindled a hobby for moi-- thanks ep!

It is critical for macro or when using big glass unless your into abstract art. If you not, then it's a nice to have.

I've used my 50mm macro w/o ANY problems handheld, but I've had TONS of natural light to help me out. Also, when using my 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM lens I've not run into any problems - even when shooting at in light lower then the zoom/shutter speed would normally allow. The IS Canon employs is some POWERFUL kung fu...

"Feel" is critical and the xt has none and is too much of a lightweight for lack of a better term.

ABSOLUTELY!! Now, some reviewers loved the feel, others hated it, but most noted it's related to the size of your mits and what you're comfortable with holding. Obviously, the tank I wander with is less likely to appeal to some small waif. It's a matter of what you're gonna feel comfortable dragging around. Only by putting one in your hands and throwing that shutter will you have some idea of what you're getting into.
