There were earlier comments that the authorities took down the MPs in Santo Domingo and were trying to clean up hooker scene.

I am in Santo Domingo this week and into next week and here is what I have found.

First - plenty of girls in the casinos working the floor and the bars as always. The prices are the same ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 pesos usually for the evening since they don't show up until late as it is. But for the most part, these girls are not nearly as good looking as those in the other venues.

Strip Clubs - visited only one, The Doll House. Mostly Russian/Eastern Eurpean and Venezuelan girls. All very good looking and very active on the stage. No hassles for money after the dances but they do shoot for the private dances and champagne rooms. Now in the past extras were always provided in both the private dance and champagne areas. No More ... customer cannot touch the girl although she does climb all over you. 400 pesos per dance.

MPs - Major Change. Yes, many of them have been raided and are now closed. Period.

Night Clubs - the clubs like Club Remington and Lapsus are alive and well. Both have an abundance of beautiful (and a few not so beautiful) girls. Remington is 2,000 pesos per girl for about an hour and a half. If she goes with you before midnight, she is expected to return. After midnight, she is free to spend he night. This is my favorite locale. Lapsus is a bit pricier - 3,000 pesos and I don't think the selection and quality is as high as Remington.

Private Clubs - these were always here in Santo Domingo but with the demise of the MPs more of them are popping up. Basically, they are brothels. Homes in residencial areas but the only way to get in is with a "member". A client of mine belongs to several. No fee or anything to belong - they just need to know you are OK.

He offered to take me .. so ... sure. My choices were one featuring Russian and Eastern European girls, another with Venezuelan and Colombian girls and the third Dominicans. I opted for House #1.

House #1 - don't ask me where it is - I have no idea. If you have ever driven in Santo Domingo you know what I mean. I could never find the place again. Anyway - we got there about 11:00 PM and there were 15 to 20 girls available. All were beautiful. We made our selections and off to the room for as much and as often and whatever you wanted for 90 minutes. Then a nice shower and out front for a drink. The "member" settles the bar and girl tabs .. he told me 3,000 pesos per girl .. 5,000 if you wanted to take her out for the night.

Tonight we go to Venezuela and Colombia. Will post about this later.

Yes, the hooker clubs like Remington are still wide open
Yes, the brothels are still wide open
Yes, the casino girls are still there
Exchange Rate is 29 to $1 US.
