Please excuse the reference to an obsolete currency. I put this report together in around the turn of the New Year and left the city soon after so I haven't been able to update prices into Euros. Never mind, this should be a reasonable guide for chaps visiting The Hague.


El Burro's Guide to The Hague

Blessed with four interesting and very active Red Light Districts the Den Haag scene has quite a different vibe to Amsterdam.

Geleen
-----
This is the most well known Den Haag RLD and is often reported on the net. You could describe it as an upmarket red light district, anyway it’s the place where most of the town’s male visitors find their way too.
Located quite close to Station Hollands Spoor, one of the two main train stations in the city centre. As you leave the station main entrance turn right. You’ll see a tower block in front of you swathed in arty colours with a net café and small supermarket on the ground floor. Walk past the tower block and cross the canal past the youth hostel. You’ll see a portacabin hamburger joint, this is right opposite one entry to the RLD.

As I said this resembles an upmarket style red light district, it’s a small pedestrianised area with I guess over a hundred windows including a 3 small indoor zones. Most of the ladies working here are attractive, some absolute stunners. However the turnover here is quite frightening. I’ve noticed that some girls are incredibly busy with a steady stream of “traffic”. Minimum price seems to be 100 NGL for a quickie “suck & fuck”. The girls bank on earning 400 NGL an hour so reckon that on the time you want to spend.
This situation does not appeal to me at all. Much like the Amsterdam RLD the service can be quite cold and clinical. This is just my impression as I’ve only indulged here twice (I refer to other RLDs). The fist time with a Brazilian was reasonably good but my second with a Spaniard was downright lousy. Even so, some of these girls are so gorgeous there’s no telling whether I’ll be tempted once more!

Poeldijksestraat

This is my favourite Red Light District in Den Haag. Located on the “wrong side of the tracks” in the city’s poor area, also close to Station Hollands Spoor. As you leave the station main entrance cross the street and turn left. Follow the road round a corner (about 50 metres) and you’ll come across Poeldijksestraat on the right. This is a pedestrian street about 100 metres long lined each side with window girls. It has one largish indoor area with two levels comprising 200 hundreds, although the top level is rarely occupied by girls.

Clientele in this area is mainly black Dominicans and Turks. A few local white Dutch and some expats like myself find their way there during daytime but not so many at night. Actually I love visiting the place after dark, it has a great vibe.

The ladies are not the babes you find over at Geleen but there are one or two lookers to find if you persevere. Most are from the Dominican Republic and not in the prime of youth. There’s also a little section of Colombianas and a couple of Brazilians to be found. Quite a few west Africans, a few Turkish ladies and currently one Thai working the night shift. Some of the Dominicans claim to be Venezuelan, not sure why they do that, I guess they think it makes them more alluring!

Prices here start low…….35NGL. A typical basic price is 50 NGL which has got me a good unhurried service on a number of occasions. Pay a bit more and you can be treated like a king here. Of course there are a few ladies here which try and give as little as they can for as much as they can extract from you however generally I found the women here very genuine and some quite affectionate, particularly the Colombianas! As I mentioned you really have to shop around to find the lookers.
Girlfriend prospects here are not unheard of. Recently one of the African girls I visited set me up on a blind date with her “sister”. And maybe the thought of dating a window girl is not everybody’s ideal relationship but I did have a pleasant few nights with a Dominican girl this past summer.

A summer’s night-time stroll down Poeldijksestraat has been for me one of my most pleasurable memories of this city. I love the vibe, bachata music blaring out, the hustle and bustle, animated Spanish conversations going on between punters and girls……. Maybe the only white face around but I never felt uncomfortable.
Business starts early……..every day I cycle through this street on my way to work. And the temptation for some early morning (I’m talking 7am) rumpy pumpy with a voluptuous Dominican or two sometimes gets the better of me.

Doubletstraat

Smaller but very similar to the vibe in Poeldijksestraat, and only a 5 minute walk away. From the top end of Poeldijksestraat (furthest from Station HS) continue walking north and you’ll pass a small park on your left. You then pass over a canal and Doubletstraat is about 10 metres further on your left. This pedestrian street is less than 100 metres long with 3 small indoor areas. Again mainly Dominican ladies here with some Africans and a couple of Brazilians. I’m yet to come across a Colombiana here. Same deal as regards pricing….starts at 35 NGL. Similarly the attractiveness of most ladies here is not great but service is normally good. Also has a great buzz at night-time and a favourite haunt of mine. Even less non-locals find their way here.

STOP PRESS: Just got back from my Sunday afternoon RLD trawl and can report a newly constructed 4th indoor area with a dozen plus windows has just opened. Can’t wait for some new ladies to move in!

Tipplezone

Just behind Station Hollands Spoor, in front of the megastores, you”ll find a so-called Tipplezone. Actually this is really your street scene. Action gets going at 2am as the regular RLDs wind down. A motley bunch of characters line the street plying their trade…….anything from bearded transvestites, druggies to your stereotypical jaded street-walker. Business is conducted in your vehicle. In my case I elected not to invite one of the girls for a hump on the back of my pushbike. I’m afraid I made a hilarious sight cycling up and down this crowded street in the early hours! This must been the busiest part of the city for traffic at this time. Just opposite the megastore there’s parking bays lining the street where most of the punters get down and dirty. Apparently the going rate here is 50 NGL.


The Hague: Privéhuis & Seksclubs

Here’s my report on the privéhuis scene in Den Haag. Probably due to the city’s 4 active red light districts the privé scene is not as extensive as the equivalent you find in, say, in Rotterdam. (I’ll be posting a report on Rotterdam shortly). Anyway the following establishments have provided me with an enjoyable diversion in my free time. It took me a while to find these venues, not all advertise regularly in the local press. Actually my best source of info was the Yellow Pages! As for local rags the Den Haag Courant runs a few ads of interest.

I tend to watch my budget so rarely frequent Seksclubs in The Netherlands however there are a couple of affordable places in town and these also get a mention.

A word about the ladies. Since the crackdown on non-EU sex workers the privé scene has now been affected following the decline in of window scene. The Eastern European women that previously found their way to The Netherlands certainly raised the standard in terms of available attractive ladies and also quality of service. The Dutch ladies had their work cut out to compete. However there are still good times to be had and plenty of foreign women to meet. Don’t get me wrong, I love Dutch women but in my experience those that work in the sex industry are somewhat lacking in the passion department. A revelation for me during my 7 months in the country has been the Arabic girls, especially the cuties working on the check-outs at my local supermarket! Some absolute crackers, something I never noticed on my trips to the Middle East. I’ve now been lucky enough to become intimately acquainted with a few Moroccan, Turkish and Tunisian beauties in private houses in The Hague and elsewhere. Apart from Arab ladies you’ll find Dominicans, Surinamese, Africans and still a few Eastern Europeans (probably those with legit residency). Oh, also quite a few Spanish ladies who can earn more money here than back home.

Getting around. The following establishments are spread around the city so I’ve provided tram directions. However by far the best way to explore the privé scene is by pushbike. If you can get hold of one – rent or buy second hand. Also a great way to see the city.

Location: 15 minute walk from Centraal Station. From station main entrance (not side entrance for trams) turn right and you’re on Bezuidenhoustseweg. House number 383 is on the right hand side. Not on a tram route, there is a bus that runs along this road but service is infrequent.

One of Den Haag’s long established privés with quite a few reports on the nets. My visits now number half a dozen. I’ve never had a disappointing time here although it is a struggle to find a lady I fancy. To put it politely most of the women are mature! I’ll say no more. Usually 6 or 7 on duty. My current favourite is a cutish busty Surinamese bird. The others whose company I’ve enjoyed are all of Dominican origin.

Minimum price here is 125NGL for 30 minutes up to 250 for the hour. Rooms are very very plush. When you arrive at Casa Cherda the receptionist asks if you’ve come for a privé or club. I’ve always opted for the privé so cannot report on their club. I tried to find out what the deal is with the club but I’m ashamed to admit that my Dutch lingo skill is still very poor. All I could understand from the receptionist is that you “sit around in a room wearing a towel”.

Location: Dangerously close to my apartment! Just around the corner in a quiet residential street close to Scheveningen in a district known as Statenkwartier. 15 minute tram ride from the city centre, routes #8 (from Station Hollands Spoor), #10 (from Station Hollands Spoor), #17 (from Centrum/Centraal Station).
This club reminded me very much of a few of the smaller knocking shops I’ve visited in the suburbs of Prague. With it’s obvious illuminated sign and red light it seems somewhat out of place set in a residential street. The similarity with Prague stops when you start talking prices. There’s an entrance fee, 10 NGL if I remember rightly. The first drink is not on the house unlike some places I’ve been to in Amsterdam. The hourly rates are slightly higher than privés, some 300 NGL an hour.

I came across Vernerhouse early one Saturday evening as I was cycling back from the beach. Initially I was put off by having to pay an entrance fee but felt duty bound to check the place out. Imagine my disappointment as I walked into the bar to find only one fat bird propping herself up in the corner. Damn, a tenner down the drain! The receptionist apologised that many girls were out on escort duty. But at that point things turned around dramatically as a beautiful blonde Dutch girl walked in. She was great company and I took my cue to invite her upstairs when she asked for a ladydrink. Call me a tight arse but no way did I want to get stung for an entrance fee and ladydrink as well as paying for my own beer!

Upstairs in the incredibly luxurious room my lady reverted to escort mode. As we sat together on the sofa there was no attempt on her part to initiate proceedings. The banality of small talk she was coming out with was embarrassing, was she deliberately eating up time? Well conscious that the clock was ticking I reluctantly took the lead. Sex with such a beautiful woman was good but nothing special. She did everything expected but, typical of Dutch working girls I’ve experienced, missing any degree of passion.

Location: A km and a half west of Centraal Station. Walkable but easy by Tram #7 which you can take from Centraal station upper level. Tram drops you at corner with Laan Van Nieuw Oost-Indie. After disembarking tram turn right into Laan Van Nieuw Oost-Indie, cross the road and you’ll find 200A next to a hairdressers after a very short walk.

Den Haag’s most reviewed, and probably most popular, knocking shop. Before my first visit I’d read many glowing internet reviews on Diane’s Secret. This is a privé and certainly lives up to its reputation as far the facilities go and their warm welcome. A nice feature of this house is the plush reception room where you enjoy a welcome drink and get to meet the 8-10 ladies on duty who hang out in the room with you. At most other privates I’ve visited you tend to sit in a room on your own and the girls are brought in one by one to greet you, not an ideal situation for making a selection as sometimes it’s all you can do to catch their names!
My disappointment was the quality (looks wise) of the ladies, a mixed bag and not what I’d been led to believe from past reviews. True there are a few stunners but they are in the minority among the 30 ladies that work various shifts here during the week. Some of the women look particularly hardcore including a couple of “elderly” bleached blonde porno queens complete with regulatory silicone.
If you’re lucky the stunners will be available however this is a busy place and they’re in much demand. I’ve called in now on about 20 occasions but only stayed for a bonk on less than half of those. Highlights for me have been a sensational Cuban lady, a Dutch-Chinese cutie, a couple of hot Moroccans, a Dominican and a Spaniard.

This is an S&M club. Not my scene but I decided to check it out one afternoon while I was cycling around town. The place is quite an intimidating white washed building on the corner of a residential street. Striking was the absence of windows and my initial thought was that it must be closed down. The lady that answered the door frightened the life out of me. Dressed in your standard issue black leather S&M gear the mature 6ft+ Dutch madam cut an imposing figure. With Gregorian chant playing in the background and torture equipment strung up on the walls sets the atmosphere. Well that was enough for me and figured I’d get going. Not before I’d have a drink suggested madam. Actually she thought I was role playing. I supped my beer but it was a bugger to get out of there. The motley collection of ladies were convinced I was just timid and really wanted to stay. Eventually I escaped with enduring any degrading acts. Apologies that I have no more info than this but it really is beyond the call of duty for me to take punishment in the pursuit of nookie.

This is my favourite Den Haag private house and only a 5 minute cycle from my apartment. Up to 6 ladies working each day, less after 7pm. My current favourite is a sensational Romanian bird, a real sweetheart in the bedroom with a cracking body. Other personal highlights have been pleasurably sessions with a cute Turkish lady and hot Moroccan.

Either this is a very popular privé or unreliable with staff not showing up. When I was lucky enough to be granted entry neither lady on duty took my fancy. This is a small apartment with a reception room converted into a makeshift bar. Price was 125 NGL for 30 minutes.

Location: A km and a half south of Station Hollands Spoor. On tram routes #1 (from Centrum / Centraal Station) and #10 which run along Rijswijkseweg. Maison Monte is near the corner of Rijswijseweg and Caan van Necklaan.
I think that this is Den Haag’s longest established private house, dates back to the 60s. Like many privés it is an apartment set in a residential street. Prices here are some 25 NGL higher compared to most other privés in town, i.e. 150 NGL for 30 minutes and so on. But in true Dutch style they operate a bizarre voucher system (the Dutch love issuing vouchers!). Every time you shag one of their girls you’re issued with a small playing card. When you’ve collected 6 you’re entitled to a shag on the house. I’ve got 5 now!

As you’d expect for such a long established knocking shop the house is immaculately done out although the rooms are much smaller than most privés I’ve been to. You’ll find a mixed selection of women here, some nice some not. I’ve enjoyed very good sessions with two coffee coloured Surinamese chicks, a Dominican and believe it or not, a Kiwi.

Mystique Studio is really an apartment done out in arty bordello style. Shades of my visit to the larger Dom Club I was greeted by a frightening mature lady who left me alone in the living room which had been converted into a bar. I was soon joined by an even more frightening large black lady dressed up in an outrageously tight leather suit. Madam rejoined us and did her best to make me feel uncomfortable. I can’t quite explain the vibe but she did a good job at it. By now I’d realised what sort of place this was so decided to down my ale and leave. But not before madam had got me to explain my fantasy to her. It was strange that she wouldn’t answer any of my questions about services on offer but preferred me to tell her what I wanted (actually she did eventually relent on telling me what you couldn’t do – i.e. use needles on the women……ouch!). Reluctantly I told her my fantasy and she gave me such a dirty look – “what, you want to have sex? What sort of place do you think this is?”
Actually on the way out she became friendly towards me and even suggested a nearby brothel.

This is a real downmarket club near the town centre. The ladies here are generally nasty looking but I understand the appeal of this gaff is the nasty service they provide. Reluctantly I admit to going with one of the women here one night I was feeling particularly desperate. My excuse, I only had an hour before kick-off in the England v. Albania footie match and was due to meet my mates to watch it in the Irish pub. So when I called around I knew I’d have no time to get to another privé or one of the red light districts. So inside I passed on the offer of a drink in the small dark and dingy bar. One lady was slightly passable, a tall slim friendly Austrian lady in her mid 30s. This place seems quite popular, whenever I’ve called only 1 of the 3 ladies on duty has been free. Maybe it’s proximity to Diana’s Secret is the reason, picking up their overspill. It bills itself as a massage parlour offering a tantric service whatever that is! Well on two occasions I was offered a 200 NGL service for an hour’s treatment which I gladly took up. My first time there was some confusion, probably a language misunderstanding. A few minutes into the service my busty African masseuse explained that she didn’t do sex which was contrary to my understanding from the maid. No big deal for me but the confusion seemed to cause her some angst. Anyway she continued the massage which was quite good but nothing compared to Thai standards. About halfway through I was quite surprised when she started sitting on my face, an activity which resulted in her shagging the living daylights out of me. So, she doesn’t do sex.
My second encounter at Rimaya Praktijk was much more straightforward. My Caribbean masseuse joined me in a pre-coital shower, massaged me and finished with some enjoyable rumpy pumpy.
Facilities here are a bit basic compared to other establishments in town. The whole place is candle lit, probably in an attempt to hide the décor rather than set the atmosphere.

This place was a bugger for me to find. I didn’t expect to have to enter a small industrial estate and pass a few portacabins to find it. I’m not really sure what the deal is here. They offer erotic massage. Neither of the ladies I met really got me going (both relatively attractive Dutch women in their early 30s) so I decided not to chance it. If nookie was not on their agenda then it would have been a very expensive massage. I’ll return one day and if I see a fanciable bird I’ll give it a go.


To close I’ll list a few of Den Haag’s upmarket venues which I’ve read about but yet to visit. To be honest I’m not sure I will be fraternising these establishments with prices of upwards 400 NGL without accounting for drinks / entry etc.

As far as I know there are currently four Thai massage parlours in The Hague. I use the term parlour loosely. Three of these places are actually in residential apartments and Lucky resembles a converted corner shop. Once inside you’ll find that these apartments are done out Thai style with obligatory Buddha statue plus offerings and Thai music playing in the background. Unfortunately the rooms can be somewhat basic and certainly a standard below the luxurious Clubs and Private Houses in town. Rooms are small and the service is provided on a mattress on the floor. And don’t expect en suite showers, you have traipse across the parlour for your unassisted pre & post massage showers. This certainly isn’t Bangkok!

All of these parlours offer a very similar service, a sort of Thai traditional / oily massage combo finishing with body-to-body and a hand shandy. Also price at each venue is the same, NGL 125 for an hour’s session.

Not surprisingly all ladies working here are Thai and have made there way to Europe after working in the Bangkok sex industry. Apart from one lady I’ve met the Den Haag Thai massage girls are generally older than the women you find in Holland’s clubs and privées, typically in their 30s / 40s. What they lack in youth or looks they make up for in technique. To date each Thai lady I’ve had the pleasure of meeting here has been expert in massage. Generally the ladies don’t work each day, I know of one who only “takes care” one day a week.

Sex is “strictly” off the menu…….well so I thought until one particular naughty lady proved otherwise by dispensing with the massage getting to some serious rumpy pumpy for a negotiable extra NGL 100. I’m sure she broke the house rules so I won’t be naming her parlour.

Another lady that broke the rules has now become a friend. During my second session with her inside a fortnight she suggested next time I should visit her home for a more relaxed time. Sundays……….apart from the Red Light Districts this is your only option for commercial hanky panky. Sundays really are the day of rest as far as Den Haag Seksclubs and Privées go.

Fantastics review! I've been to a few of the places that you mention during my vist is to Holland, but you explored every nook and crany of Den Haag.
