This list is rather small this time around.
I got to see of lot of different things the last time around, but I did miss out on a few so I have them on the list this time.
Will definitely check out the diddling bars:

Xen, in Pattaya, I went to Tony's disco (on walking street) each night and had a blast each time. An awesome and different live band every night, drink specials, if you are into that. A lot classier and livelier than any disco in BKK. Around 11-12 pm, it's packed with young, willing gals "non-pros" . It's fun to people watch.
Classroom A Go Go is often highly touted here, but it's a hit or miss thing for me. I hear Cats A Go Go will open next week sometime -- a couple of great bods in there. Frozen a Go Go had a few gems last time.

Tony's disco has the best looking freelancers in Thailand. I would also suggest going to Lólita's BJ bar in Asoke beer bar complex in BKK, near Soi Cowboy..

Xen or Blazers, where is Royal City Avenue, Spasso Disco, and Ministry of Sound?
By Xenono on Monday, August 19, 2002 - 09:42 pm: Edit |
From the map I have Royal City Avenue is off of Rama IX Rd a bit to the east of Din Daeng Rd. It is close to Honululu Massage and the Radison hotel.
Spasso Disco in the basement of the Grand Hyatt Erawan hotel. Address is 494 Rajdamri Road. It looks to be close to the corner of Ploenchit and Rajdamri.
Ministry of Sounds is on Sukhumvit Soi 12.

Here is the Ministry of Sound webpage.

Wow. I can't wait to check out the Ministry of Sound. The place cost 150 million baht (~3.5 million US) to build, has 100 employees, three stories, and is 3000 square meters. Nice! Check out some of the pictures on their website. Plush is a word that comes to mind.

I was there about a week and a half ago. I love this place. I believe it was 300 baht per person to get in but you get two drink tickets with it. The sound system is excellent but electronica is really tough to dance to. I went on a night a while back where they had various DJ's spinning reggae dancehall, hip hop and old school (much better dance music). There is usually guest DJ's from England on Fridays and Sundays. A great relief from the Thai DJ's who seem to know only 8 songs or are too poor to buy anything else. Take a girl there that you dig.

I would hit Phuket before Samet or Samui.
New Cleopatra is my favorite place. BTW - girls in the fishbowl are 2400 baht. Try Emannuele also. New Cleopatra blows away Darling, Annies, etc......
Mahboonkrong - just take the sky train to the National stadium. It is also know as MBK which is in big letters on the side of the building.
Pantip Plaza - Take a taxi. They well know where it is. Easy to get to and if you really want you can walk to it. If you are coming from Nana Plaza, go towards Soi and just keep going straight. Once you hit the World Trade Center, turn right. Go down to Petchburi and trun left. It's a 5 minuted walk from the corner on the left side.
Lumpini Park - Great in the morning. Beware of the Ho's at night. From Nana, go to Wireless Road and go straight. Lumpini park is on the right side.
Royal City Avenue is also known as RCA. From Nana go down Soi 3, turn right on Petchburi and follow it until you see the big RCA sign. Turn left.
Spasso is overpriced and the girls are the same girls who go to Nana or some of the regular hangoutds so don't fall for the "I get 5000 baht" bullshit.
Don't know the new Number One Gentlemen's Club but you might want to try the Ecstasy Club on Soi Thong Lor.
Eden Club everyone should try once. Selection is not always to great but the talent is.
Out of these places:
Angel Witch, The New Cascade Bar (want to see even though everyone says it sucks), Fantasia, G-Spot, Big Dogs (Beer Bar), and PlaySkool in NanaPlaza.
I would recommend PlaySkool and Fantasia. Wouldn't waste my time in the rest....not even Cascade. You should try Mandarin though. Can look at some snatch dancing above
Atami is not a top knotch massage parlor and most taxi drivers get their commissions here.
Try Juliana (near where I live) Cleopatra, Emmannuele, Chao Praya 2
Tony's is not really what I would call a "classy' disco per se nor do I think it has the best looking freelancers around. That distinction is very hard to make. Many Disco's on Ratchada are as good or better. Of course Spasso's and Riva's are higher class but the atmosphere is alot different. You might want to give the Q-Bar and while there are ho's there, this is not a HO hangout....
There is also a Tony's in Bangkok although it is not doing so well....

MBK is a mutli-storied mall full of stalls and small shops, not like the other Westernized malls. There are some good deals to be found here. Give yourself plenty of time to explore because I'm not aware of any kind of directory here. Walkways lead directly from the Siam Sky Train station and there are a number of very good restaurants just inside near this entrance area.
Cascade bar is certainly interesting regarding the design. I heard someone say the cave-like interior reminded him of the Flintstones. To go with the decor the management has selected dancers lower on the evolutionary scale. Okay, that was mean, but I couldn't resist. The dancers here really are some of the poorest in Nana. You should stop in for a quick drink to see the place. After all, it's not like you have to go out of your way. I know you'll be going back to Nana again. Also, things can turn around pretty quickly in Bangkok. Witness the new beerbar complex across from Clinton Plaza.
Rockhard mentioned Mandarin at Nana. Yes, you can look up the girl's skirts through the plexiglass floor, just like at Baccara Bar in Soi Cowboy. Same owners. They have a lot of very young girls here, but they all seemed on the wrong side of plain for my tastes.
I didn't get over to Number One Club last time. Would you believe that I just didn't have time during my last 30 day trip? So much to do! They had opened about a week before my arrival, but they didn't have the upstairs rooms ready. I planned on checking it out during my last few days in Bangkok, but by the end of my trip I had so many more good connections and options I couldn't pull myself away. They have their own website now and you'll find a lot of discussion on both the Nanaplaza board and the Bangkok Tonight forum. Xen, I'm looking forward to your report on the place.
Here's my best tip for you: Go to Carousel gogo bar on Soi Diamond, just off Walking Street in Pattaya. The selection there is extremely good now and it's one of the few bars in Thailand doing full-nude and very hot shows. They mix it up a bit too. One night it was baby oil, the next it was the old familiar Heineken show. The location is right in the center of Pattaya's best, so it should definetly be on the agenda. It's about 2 bars down from Superbaby.
Best of luck on your next trip!
