The First Night’s Rendezvous In Phuket Town
This last weekend, I flew in via Tiger Airways to Phuket from Singapore and and she from HCM City via Bangkok for our rendezvous at one of my favourite playgrounds this side of the world.
For me, it was a one and half hour flight out of Changi, Singapore. For her, an “epic” journey starting around 1130 hrs from HCM City (Saigon), a few hours layover in Bangkok connecting via Air Asia to Phuket arriving about 2 hours before me. I arranged a hotel pick-up for her so she could freshen up in our room instead of waiting for me at the airport.
Once through immigration, I called the hotel.
“Hello, Sawasdee Kap, is that the Metropole Hotel, please connect me to reception. “My Name is Khun A*****. “I have a reservation by your General Manager Khun T**, my friend Khun N***** H** is supposed to have checked in, can you please put me through to the room.”
“Sorry sir, she has not arrived, let me check with the driver first. “Oh, here she is, just arriving, would you like to speak to her?”
“Yes please, “ I replied and when she was on line, I found out about her delay in Bangkok for nearly two hours. Told her to check in and rest to wait for me as the drive from the airport would take me about 40 minutes.
Exited the terminal and looked for my Toyota Car Hire person and was soon on the way to Phuket City in a Toyota Vios a 1000 bahts a day self-drive.
When I got to the hotel, I was informed of the room number and went straight up. There she was in her nightie opening the door. She approached and hugged me close and said, “Nice to see you again.”
She had been resting in bed and looked absolutely delectable. Resisting all temptation to push her into bed for a quickie, I asked her to dress up quickly so we could both go out and get some dinner.
Once in the car, I headed for Chalong Bay’s Parlai Seafood Restaurant at which I had enjoyed many sumptuous meals in the past.
It turned out that the upgraded restaurant’s service was bad and the food took all of an hour and half to arrive. By the time we ate, we are over-starved and just not able to finish what turned out to be a just OK meal. The previous high standards of cooking seemed to have disappeared at this once great place. Worse, the bill came to 1250 bahts for a couple of barbecued giant prawns, a Steamed Fish (Thai Style), stir-fried vegetables, vermicillli noodles with seafood, a Thai food specialty. At least more than 40 per cent up from my last visit. Made a note to cross out this restaurant for future visits to Phuket.
In any case, we spent the waiting time in animated conversation and catching up with each other. There was so much to talk about. Chalong Bay at night is reasonably nice except that you need to burn some anti-mosquito stuff to keep the bites away. There was hardly a breeze that evening.
By the time we finished dinner, it was 1130pm and we got into the car and headed back to the town area of Phuket.
Time for some music and relaxation and I drove to Timber Rock, one of my favourite music and fun places in the city. The entire road was choked full of parked cars along both sides.
The car parking attendant took my bottle of Scotch in hand and let us to the door. The entire downstairs was packed shoulder to shoulder and I opted to go upstairs where they squeezed us into the loft area. We could see the band on the big screen and watch others having fun. It was standing room in a totally packed out club.

My girl loved the music and was soon rocking her body and shuffle-dancing right at me and I encouraged her.
Two margaritas for her and several refills of my scotch mixed with water and ice (Thai Style), I called for the bill which came to 400 bahts. I opted to sign for it on visa as I had to borrow 1500 bahts from her earlier for the dinner bill. My late arrival with little Thai currency in hand left me no option. She was very nice about it and laughed at my need.
Back to the room, she and I took turns to freshen up for bed and soon she was hugging me. I discovered a tigress in bed who loved being loved and was not shy about her needs. Luckily, I was in form and made sure she appreciated my strengths in bed which set a decent standard for the rest of the trip.
We passed out later into deep sleep thereafter.
