Overall Assessment

A year ago I wrote that BsAs was expensive and worth every nickel you spend…..Today BsAs is an incredible bargain….a dollar buys 3x’s as much as a year ago….The chicas are still hot, the food is wonderful….everything is on sale…Pack. Go. Now.

CLUBS

Blandish. Is the one new club worth trying. Ave del Liberatador 3883, on the Paseo de la Infanta near BsAs News Disco. Classy place, opens late. Drinks 20 pesos for hombres, 25 for chicas. Take out for chicas….150pesos 1.5 hours (may vary by chica). Potent drinks….good atmosphere…

Ladies. Stay Away. Just down the street from Cutty Sark on Reconquista. A good many of the girls are there simply to drink with the guys…not available for take out…So if you want to take a chica home…ask her before you buy her a drink if she will go with you….

Closer. Guido 1963, in the space formerly occupied by Password. About 10 chicas the night I visited. Friendly, laid-back atmosphere…chicas were not impressive…I left after one 15 peso drink…I have no idea what chica drinks or charges are, since I was not interested.

Shampoo. Quintana, near Callao en Recoleta. Drinks for hombres, 20 pesos..more for chicas…Classy environment, but the night I visited not many good looking chicas available. Can’t comment on prices for chicas, since I never got serious….but the word is they are on the high side….

TAXIS/Remis Drivers

Carlos Dalbosco. Carlos is available as a guide or simply for a ride from the airport. He charges USD 5 for one person as a guide, including use of his taxi and his considerable knowedge of where to find chicas and restaurants in out-of-the-way places in BsAs. 38 pesos, including tolls to your hotel from the airport. 15.4470.3963 local or 011.54.11.4470.3963 from the US.

Baseport. A reliable, safe taxi company. …after 10 rides, the 11th is free. 4639-5444 local.

Travel Agents.

A very good agency for travel within Argentina, or for hotel reservations in BsAs or local excursions….Argentina is a large country…find a chica and travel to Patagonia or Iguazu falls or the beach….You will be glad you did.

Viagra

Courtesy of Moondog…Norte Supermercado, 9 de Julio y Rivadavia…go to the pharmacy. Sold under the generic name Sildenafil rather than the brand name Viagra….same potent stuff….

Hotels

Outside of Buenos Aires, try Patagonia Plaza in San Martin de los Andes. Beautiful hotel, pristine Alpine setting….

In Buenos Aires, try Art Suites….$55 per night for an extended stay. Ask for the 9th floor….the one bedroom on the 9th floor was superior to the other one bedroom in which I have stayed….sometimes they will move you to a 2 bedroom if you are staying a long while…2 bedrooms are MUCH nicer than one bedroom apartments…4 blocks from the heart of Recoleta….

Thanks for the update. I will have to try the new clubs in September. I did go to Ladies a few weeks ago, but only for a short time and in the early evening. I was not impressed, but then maybe it was too early.

Carlos speaks very little English...but is a lot of fun to be with, even if you don't speak a lot of Spanish...yes, USD 5 per hour...he knows restaurants, as well as chica bars in the outlying barrios....Gregario introduced me to this fun loving character who will give you a different perspective on BsAs...

Just curious, but being a guy in my forties with big plans for my week in BA, do you need a doctor's scrip to purchase vitamin V at Norte Supermercado? Or, do you just walk up to the counter and ask for Sildenafil. I've not used it yet, but I may need to while there based on the photos I've seen.

This is Moondog's area...I have not tried to purchase Vit.V over the counter...but Moondog swears it can be done by walking up and telling the pharmacist at Norte Supermercado...thanks to the generosity of Nomar, I did not need to try this avenue...thank you, Nomar.....

Just walk up to the pharmisict in the Norte Supermercado, and ask for viagra. He will only ask you what size and what quanity you would like. It comes in 50 and 100 mg.
