Summary: Buenos Aires is a great destination for chicas. It is a great vacation spot for tourism, shopping and as a departure point for travel in Argentina. Despite news reports on rising crime level, I found it to be safe, easy to navigate and the people most friendly. I speak Spanish capably but something short of fluently. I had no problems understanding the Argentine people. The restaurants are superb. The country is for sale right now if you are buying pesos with dollars (3.6/1). The chicas run the full spectrum from young and hard to mature and funloving. As a mongering destination I can only compare it to TJ and Costa Rica. It is the antithesis of TJ, offering all the amenities we wish we could have such as nice hotels, longer times, and GFE. As for Costa Rica, I think BA is a better deal. I liked the women better, the boliches and the pricing. As a city BA has a wealth of things to do that make it far more interesting culturally than San Jose. I will return.
I arrived Friday in BA whipped from the flight. This despite sleeping for five hours after they served the meal. The transition from EZE to Hotel Etoile was easy. Taxi cost $11.
The Hotel Etoile is a great location. The room is a diplomatic suite for 154 pesos. I am on the third floor in the back. I am sure the rooms in the front and higher are better, but this at least has the virtue of being quiet. The rooms are poorly decorated but spacious. One room had a bar and table. Another couches. The third was a double bed. Color TV w/cable, AC and heat, and a spacious bathroom. The jacuzzi could seat 4, although I only tried it with one chica at a time. Contrary to reports, I did not find the bed uncomfortable. It was short, if you are tall. I am 5'9 so it was fine. There were extra pillows and it was made and turned down everyday. Ask for extra towels from the maid. For 10 days I spent 1,800 pesos. The hotel has no problem with chicas. They sign in upon arrival for your safety. Safe deposit boxes in some rooms, I used one in the lobby.
The hotel's location is spectacular. A little like staying on prospect street in La Jolla. Restaurant row is just outside, the cafe on the corner is a classic. La Biela. I sat on the corner stool every morning chatting with Ramon and Julio who served the cortados and gave soccer tips easily. There are tables outside under the goma tree for great people watching.
Temperature in August was 65 degrees and sunny, while the Argentines are dressed in leather and fur I was wearing a t-shirt. The streets were filled with people, life is as normal as can be during such an economic crisis. I think the people are keeping a stiff upper lip so to speak. THERE IS NO VISIBLE DANGER FROM STREET CRIME. Recoleta is of course a bourgeoise neighborhood.
On my first day I went to Colmegna spa for some pampering after the flight. Saunas, massage Etc... in an old fashioned building. It helped dissolve the jet lag. Later I sampled Natalie from the Cafe Orleans. Twenty six, morocha, 115lbs. Went to the Hotel Horizontal around the corner for 200 pesos. One hour of fun. The albuerges transitorios are great. Comfortable beds, porno tv, security, cleanliness etc.. everything the TJ hotels are not. Room cost was 40 pesos or 12 dollars. I never repeated at Cafe Orleans but it is a great daytime option. I also stopped by 963 Tucuman (next to Claridges) an upstairs brothel. Rates quoted were cheap 100 pesos for an hour, but the 6 chicas were not to my liking.
Weekend 1 I went walking through BA, taking pictures and shopping. People are everywhere. Ran into a Thalia appearance at a bookstore on Santa Fe, lots of screaming teenyboppers. Returned to hotel, napped and showered, ate a great steak at Tenorio (cost with salad, vino y cafe $13). I made the rounds of the Recoleta clubs. Playwomen was best Friday but was quieter last night. Didn´t see much at Newport, Sodoma, Solid Gold either. I ended up at Affaire. Caught a 19yo from BA who was a hardbody. Anibel was blonde, busty and fun. An hour in my room at the Etoile was 200 pesos or sixty dollars.

Sunday I went to the soccer match and it was crazy. 50,000 people singing River Plate songs for two hours. RP won 1-0 despite being a man down for most of the match.
Ezy and I hooked up upon his return from San Martin de los Andes. I met his favorita and later one of her friends at Ness. She was great-5´11, 130lbs, 23yo, blonde from the provinces. All legs. It was a slow Sunday night so we did not prowl around much. No need to when the bird is in hand either. Anyway this chica was fine. Ezy set me up big time. She came to my hotel at three and left at 5:30AM. She was a total girlfriend experience. Cost was 150 pesos.

By Tuesday I was feeling the combined effects of the sex, travel and crazy hours. I was having trouble performing so I went in search of Viagra. I ended up at Clinica Bazterrica, Peron 1739, where a doctor prescribed it. We had a brief converstaion mostly about food, he asked some questions and wrote it up. Cost was 48 pesos for the consultation. The pharmacy charged 67 pesos for 10 50mg generic equivalents. They ended up giving me a whole box of 100mg, instead of one. I split my cache with Ezy later on. Moondog reports that there is a large supermarket and pharmacy called Norte on the corner of Ave. de Julio and Av. Rivadavia that will sell it without a prescription. I didn't know.
That night Ezy and I went to Ness, Hook and some other boliches. We started out looking for Estilo Nuevo boliche in Belgrano. No luck. We ended up having a good meal and going to Blandish in Palermo. This club had been open for 5 days. We were early at 9pm and naturally the full squad had not arrived. The chicas seemed friendly. Price was 150/night. We both vowed to return although we never did. Ave del Liberatador 3883, on the Paseo de la Infanta near BsAs News Disco. We ended the night at Ness where Ezy was merely looking. I found Lorena from Missiones province near the Igazu Falls. She was 20 something, friendly and very affectionate. 150 pesos brought her to the room for a session in the jacuzzi and a romp around the suite. Visually she was disappointing when she took off her clothes, showing signs of gravity, age and motherhood. Nevertheless, she was a fun chica to be with and worked hard to please. GFE.

I spent most of the week doing tourist type things. I really enjoyed the art museums. MALBA opened last year and shows a collection of 20th century Latin American art as well as travelling exhibits. Beautiful new building. (Alcorte 3415). The Museo de Bellas Artes was on Libertador (1473). The principal floor has a limited retrospective of European art. The second floor has great display Argentine art which I found more stimulating. The Museo de Arte Hispanoamericano (Suipacha 1422) has a superb collection of colonial art, silver, and objects. I took Alejandra to the MALBA which she enjoyed. She came came back to my room for an early evening session before going to work. She told me later her friends didn't believe she went to a museum. Fun time. Anyway to round it off, go to the Centro Cultural de Recoleta (Junin 1930). The galleries are vast, filled with interesting modern stuff and the eye candy is not just on the wall. I ended the week by purchasing some modern art from an Argentine painter.
Friday I went to Colonia Uruguay on the high speed ferry. I enjoyed the history and shopping but didn't find it that worthwhile. The tour was amazingly short, the buquebus schedule got me there at 12noon and left at 5pm. I would have been better off on the earlier, slower ferry or spending the night. I had a quickie with Araceli of Escorts Argentina around 7:30. She has a 2nd floor flat in Recoleta on Heras. Cost was 130pesos. She says she is 27. She has a two year old kid. The pictures on the web page are probably five years old and airbrushed. My picture is dark and makes her look even older. Anyway I found her body to be a miracle of conditioning. She was friendly, attentive and great from doggie style.

That night I went out with Gregorio and Ezy to Flores. The bar Envidia is just off Rividavia and a good distance from the center. Lots of young talent in this neighborhood boliche. Prices were 40 pesos for 25 minutes short time. I passed for Alejandra that has treated me so well this week. I am a sucker for certain things and this chica pushes all the buttons. Ezy and Gregorio stayed. Carlos the cab driver showed me two more boliches in Flores that Gregorio recommends.
Carlos Dalbasco
Tel. # (011)-4652-5758 and
(011)-15-4470-3963 (cell)
He is a good guy, an ex-cop collecting disability. He speaks no English. $5/hour, highly recommended for tourism and/or boliches if you are alone.
Doly´s and Lisa´s are on Directorio across the street from each other. I know Ezy had a bad session but I think theses places have promise. These are neighborhood boliches that offer tit dancing to the rub and tug to the full deal on premises (or a hotel nearby). I think if you go it is wise to go with another monger or use a driver like Carlos. You clearly can save some coin from the downtown joints, but I think that is not the best reason to go. Go because you want to sample the local talent in a fun atmosphere. I finished the night with Alejandra.
Alejandra 3 Alejandra 4
I finished my weekend by partying with Alejandra. Saturday night we went to dinner and out for live music. We went to Bar Sur in San Telmo for Tango and she spent the night.
Sunday was my last night and she came over to give me a send off that was memorable.
I know many mongers would be more of a butterfly than I was and can appreciate why. I enjoyed getting to know this chica and spending time with her. I practiced my Spanish much more thoroughly and enjoyed my time with her. Her only physical drawback are some moles on her backside. She was good company outside the hotel and took care of me. She was especially tolerant of my repeated difficulties in performing. By the end I was joking that I would leave her all my love, "menos mi leche. " She works at Cutty Sark M-F. If you go to find her, take good care of her.
Anyway, this was great 10 day trip. I highly recommend BA as a destination. None of it would have been possible without Moondog, Sakebomb, Godfather and others who have cleared the path. Read the reports first and you will have a blast. Seeing Ezy down there was great fun. I enjoyed his tales and benefitted enormously from his tips. I still owe him big time.

Thanks for writing down report. Enjoyable read. Did you find ladies in BA in general more attractive than ladies from CR?

Great report, really enjoyed it.

Athos, I found everything about Argentina more enjoyable than Costa Rica. The chicas run the full spectrum. I think there is a great deal there for a butterfly like you or someone like me who likes repeat sessions w/girlfriend illusion. It is easy to find chicas and make it work in any scenario. There are no termas, but daytime events are easy with escorts or arranged through getting phone numbers. The chicas are, in general, first rate providers, with regard to looks, service and price. In San Jose I found more hardened pros, particularly among the Columbianas and in the Blue Marlin. I'm not sure I would rate the quality of looks that differently as both places offer a feast for the eyes.

A butterfly like me? but I thought I was a putanero. Well chicas call me simply puto.
BA sounds great destination especially with current peso rate.

What a great report. You did the town exactly as it should be done Nomar! Buenos Aires is such a unique city with so much to see and do. I'm still amazed when I read the old posts from Ezy, Moondog, et. al. about how expensive things were before. The amazing thing is that even "pre-devaluation" the value for the money was there. Now it is an outright bargain.
Yes, many will go for the amazing chicas but you'll find the people there are very friendly and civilized. Imagine if the same thing was happening in the United States as B.A. I can guarentee you that there would be people shooting eachother, people bombing banks to get their money, and worse.
Nomar's posts clearly shows that whatever your taste is...you'll find it in BA.
Great post.

Agree with the others, excellent report. I'll have to visit some of these places on my next trip to BA. I still have to write up my first trip to BA! (I did start at least)
Personally, I found CR girls more attractive if I were to only compare BA with the Blue Marlin which is the main sex spot known by tourists. As a whole, I would say they are close though. I still think the average age is higher in BA.
CR has a wider variety too with a large population of Nicas and Dominicanas. You also have some Russians.
I preferred BA overall. The city is beautiful and the restaurants are wonderful. I'm impatient, too, so the slow service at the CR restaurants always bugged me.
Still you gotta visit CR and head to the beach, volcano, rainforests, etc...
By Ezy on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 - 06:39 pm: Edit |
Godfather, you are so right about the civility among the people in Argentina...vs how we would respond in similar circumstances. Your observations about prices are also on target....last Dec. I paid in excess of $100 for a decent hotel, meals cost $15 for a good lunch, more at night...and chicas cost $200-300usd per night....I was in love with the place then, and said so last August...Now, with devaluation...I can't stay away...I love a bargain!!! I doubt this situation will last for long...rounds of hyperinflation, further devaluation, and more inflation are probably just around the corner...so go now and take advantage of a world class city, world class chicas and 3rd world prices....
You are also right about Nomar knowing how to do BA the way it should be done...a mix of mongering with tourism....not letting night time activities stand in the way of seeing the area...and not letting his relationship with a chica favorita stand in the way of working in a short term sessions....Way to go Nomar!!!

Excellent report Nomar. I appreciate the time you took to describe some of the non sexual activities. Not all of us can perform multiple times a day and need other things to occupy ourselves.

Thanks for all your positive comments. I had a blast.
I think it's funny Ben is describing Araceli as necrophelia. The photo is legitimately bad. The lighting in the apartment is bad. The flash is not functioning. She is huddled over and hiding her positive attributes. Neither she nor I knew when the camera would fire at that moment. The only thing you can see is the bad view of her face which shows signs of aging. I stand by the pic though. She is the same chica as shown in Escorts Argentina. Same phone number. Same great body. Friendly service. Either photo is a good example of the way in which photography is persuasively misleading.

Nomar...I would add "sometimes" to your observation that photography is "persuasively misleading." ....Araceli may or may not be accurately portrayed either in her glamour shots or by your candid photo...but Alejandra's photos capture here likeness.....

Nomar,
Thanks for the report. I was considering BA as a sidetrip to Rio, but I won't have enough time. I hope to go next year.
As for the Colombiana's at the BM in Costa Rica. I'll agree some are hardcore, but don't knock them all. My last trip to CR, I was 5 for 7 with GFE's from Colombiana's-mostly Paisas.

Excellent report - One thing I have not been able to find in most garotas in GIG {beach,termas,help...} is their adaptation to unfamiliar surroundings. i.e, If I wanted to take one to say a Partners Ball, or a social function...
In EZE, most chicas I had could easily pass themselves off remarkably. I even took one to a party held at Hilton in Puerto Madera ?? The Bris ignored,gringos ooged and the French could-not-care-less {CCL}

Thanks Ezy. I thought those were representative of Alejandra too. Just don't tell her I posted them! I agree with Citydude that many of the chicas travel well. They often dress well, converse like adults with educations, and save the overtly sexual for private spaces. It was enchanting to have Alejandra on my arm for a few sojourns on the town. As for the Blue Marlin. I like it a great deal. Hombrecito, I was trying to find a point of comparison and the BM experience is widely known. It can be hit or miss for GFE. I would return to Costa Rica in a heartbeat.

Nomar, no problema....If Alejandra finds out her pix are on the net it won't be from me...or from Lucia, since I don't plan to tell her that her friend Alejandra is now famous.....grin....
How well I know that they save the overtly sexual for private places...I have tried my best to persuade a chica to have sex with me in the elevator of ArtSuites to no avail....

Nomar,
I called Carlos on the Monday I got back, Aug 19, which was his birthday by the way. He told me you had him take you to the airport. He also told me you took his picture and were going to post it on the board.
Glad to see you used him. I feel it was really a stroke of luck to meet him. He sure made the trip a lot easier. And the price, $5 per hour is like you say "play money." Hopefully, the word is out and he will benefit financially. I get the feeling he likes his job anyway--take borrachos around to boliches, drink beer, talk to babes, and get paid for it.
Very good report. I was hoping you'd add something about your Buquebus trip to Colonia. Can a person just show up early on the day of the trip, or do you have to make reservations?
Hope you are enjoying the three-day weekend. I am. Take care, Gregorio...
PS (don't tell EZY, Moondog or any of the other BA aficionados), but you need to do Iguazu next time you're down there. And make sure you get a chance to spend at least one night on the Brazilian side of the falls. Some guys from Argentina (in Misiones province) told me they got some hellacious boliches in Foz de Iguacu, Brasil--wall-to-wall nalga. Take out, or on site...more of that stuff than you can shake a stick at! Yikes...
By Nomar on Sunday, September 01, 2002 - 05:30 pm: Edit |
Gregorio,
Is Godfather's report killing you too? I would go back in a heartbeat.
In my report I noticed I misspelled his last name. It is Carlos "DelBosco." I agree he is a good guy and an important connection for mongers on this board.
Buquebus has an office in the Bullrich shopping center on Libertador. I went the day before, but anyone can go directly to the terminal in Puerto Madero to get on a boat. I spent an extra 20 pesos on first class on the way over as the tourist cabin was filled. Not worth the money as no significant benefit except less people. The trick is to study the itineraries/times. I made the mistake of going on a fast boat too late in the day. I had a tour/lunch and ended up with no free time in Uruguay.
I enjoyed meeting you in BA. Good luck back at work.

Nomar, any report out of BA kills me...
Yeah, going to Uruguay was on my definite "to do" list. But since I went to Iguazu Falls and did both the Argentina and Brazil side--plus crossed the Parana River from Foz de Iguacu, Brasil to Ciudad del Este, Paraguay on the back of a motorcycle I felt I could put off Uruguay for the time being.
(My guide talked me into doing this since he needed to buy some medicine in Paraguay to resell in Argentina at double the price.) I said "what the hell" and away we went. Apparently US citizens need visas to go into Paraguay, but nobody stopped us, we went right on in. Talk about a crazy, wild, wild west kind of place. I bet in Ciudad del Este a gringo could get in all kind of trouble...ojo, mucho ojo...
If you go to Iguazu, you don't need to set up anything in advance. Just get the ticket at Aerolineas, and when you land in Iguazu airport there is a big tour guide table set up by the baggage claim. They set up everything. I toured both sides, Argentina first day, Brasil the next and got a night in a decent hotel for like $100 USD...
After the Brasil-Paraguay special, we crossed back into Argentina and I bussed it down to Posadas, Argentina (about five hours) and flew out of there back to BA on Wed. The bus trip from Iguazu to Posadas is quite scenic, but makes several stops along the way...Densely wooded, semi-tropical rainforest.
They say it's hotter than hell up there in the summer months and I don't doubt it. It was fairly hot in mid-August.
Posadas is a real nice place, that's where I met those guys who told me Foz de Iguacu is a hobbyist's paradise...
Keep on plugging. Maybe someday we can all meet up again for a game at Boca Junior stadium...Hasta luego, Gregorio...

Gregorio, Would like to know more about Iguazu. How much is the rt flight from BA? Are there package deals? Need a visa for Brasil side if you stay overnight (for those from the US)? Thx.
By Gregorio on Monday, September 02, 2002 - 12:31 pm: Edit |
When I went up there, I didn't plan on going to the Brazil side because I knew you needed a visa. But this tour company that operates out of the Iguazu, Argentina airport assured me their guides had special permission to cross waterfall tourists across the border with no visa necessary. And they were right. When we got to the Brazil side, my guide took my passport into the booth, came out in one minute with my passport and said, lets go...And off to Paraguay we went!!!
Then back to Brazil and the Falls about two hours later. Please don't mention about going to Paraguay to anybody at the airport tour desk. They run the show. What my guide did may or may not be kosher. I would wait till you did the Argentina side and talked with him and got to know him before suggesting something like that the next day when you cross into Brazil.
BTW, Foz is a big city--about half a million people, plus Ciudad del Este is damn big too, so there is a large population up in that area. The only town that is relatively small is Iguazu, Argentina. You can't cross from Argentina to Paraguay up there, must go through Brazil first.
That still doesn't answer your question about a possible overnight stay on the Brazil side. I was wondering how a person could swing that myself without getting a visa, especially considering what those guys in Posadas told me.
I would imagine your guide, or the guys at the tour table in the airport could give you all the ins and outs on that.
Like I said, you don't need to worry about setting up anything in advance as far as lodging and touring the falls. The one-way ticket up from BA to Iguazu was $52 USD, and the one way back from Posadas to BA was $37 USD...Unreal...
By Megustagfe on Tuesday, September 03, 2002 - 05:56 am: Edit |
Is Iguazu worth a visit only for its scenary? How does it compare to Niagra?
By Waterrat on Friday, September 20, 2002 - 07:32 am: Edit |
The scenery is far above Niagara. I will try to post some pictures after I get back from my next trip to BA. Stay at the Hotel das Cataractas on the Brazilian side if you are doing regular tourism. Access after dark is difficult as it is in the national park and it closes for safety reasons at sunset. Apparently they do not feed the guests to the jaguars and snakes that also call the park home.

Good link for hotel info at the falls is:
http://www.cataratasdeliguazu.net/
Saw a video on them, look amazing. In the video was a mention of helicopter rides over the falls. Anyone know if they are still in operation? Guidebook said that heli rides were being protested and might be shut down.
I am considering a combo bus/plane trip Rio/B.A./Rio. Have read Lonely Planet tour guide and it looks very doable.
Gregario--Thanks for the "heads up" on Foz de Iguacu. May have to reconsider re taking someone with me to the falls, then again, maybe not.
