Don’t expect the spectacular cuisine that Thailand and Japan are famous for. Most of the local food caters to Americans, although all places have Filipino food for your honeyko as well. Filipino food is the most unimaginative and flavorless food in Asia and finding a competent cook is nearly impossible. There is a reason why you only see Filipino restaurants in areas inhabited by Filipinos. One of the biggest problems is that the transportation of fresh goods is horrible, making the fresh produce and meats of a lower quality. Needless to say, there are still plenty of places to eat in Angeles and the food can be extremely good at times. Here are some in the mongering area:
Kokomos: This is probably my favorite place to eat in Angeles for many reasons. The service by the waitress’ is solid. The outside patio is a perfect place to watch the girls on their way to the bar or their apartment. A lot of the expats congregate here and you can get advice from these bitter old sages. The pizza’s here are the best in Angeles and the crust is usually rolled dough rather than cracker bread. They have a good selection of various Asian dishes and their Filipino food is decent. They give you 20 piso refills on jars of soda or draft beer when ordering certain meals. They have specials every day of unique menu items. The prices here are dirt cheap. They have great ice teas that you can order in big masonry jars but they are too sweet for my taste. I recommend the seafood platter, the club sandwich, and Pad Thai. They have just updated their menu to include food from Indonesia and its quite good. I must say that I can no longer recommend the breakfasts here as they are overpriced and of low quality. Located on Fields.
Margarita Station: I boycotted this place for a while due to the poor service and multiple bouts of mild food poisoning BUT this place finally got their shit together and has made drastic improvements. The menu is the most extensive and diverse in Angeles. The menu itself is colorful and has pictures of every item. Your honeyko will prefer this place as it has the most extensive menu of Filipino food. The breakfast menu here is huge. Every day there is a special which has everything from Mongolian Barbecue to Hoagie Day. Their Margaritas are great and they always have local beers around 25 pisos or so (50 cents). The waitress are all 4'7" tall or shorter. Some of the girls with attitude were finally fired. I guess most of the girls get tired of 60 year old guys asking if they can barfine them. When you find a waitress you like, stick with her every time you go. The Chicken Adobo here is outstanding as are most Pinoy dishes because the cooks are Filipino. The problem is that the prior cook had training in Thailand but no longer works there and the new cooks consistently fuck up the Thai dishes so I don’t recommend ordering Thai food here. Located on Fields Ave.
Orchid Inn: The pool area here has a café and open air dining area. The place hires very friendly wait staff. The breakfast buffet here is solid. Order the breakfast buffet for 250 pisos and it includes your choice of two meats and a made to order omellette. They also have different buffets during the week and their Australian BBQ’s are outstanding. Very extensive menu and good desserts. There is a cantina bar in the same vicinity.
Molly Malones: For 250 pisos, your not likely to find a better deal for buffets in AC. The place has a nice rustic decor reminiscent of an old Irish Bar. The buffet includes different carver roasts, ham and beef. They also make a good shephards pie and they have pretty good desserts. The menu has changed a bit here and includes an extensive Indian menu. They have a set menu for 300 pisos which includes samosas, nan bread and your choice of entrees. The chicken vindaloo and tiki masala are excellent and quite spicy.
Chic N Ribs: They have BBQ buffets on Wednesday and Friday. The buffet has great BBQ chicken, fish, beef and pork along with great salads and side dishes. The regular menu has different types of BBQ chicken, beef and seafood. Many of the dishes are done Filipino style are have more flavor than your average Filipino dish. They also make great fruit shakes here. They also have karaoke on the weekends. The girls seem to like this place as its done Filipino style and its starting to veer itself towards catering to Filipino clients by having cheaper prices. They now have a snack menu for around 75-99 pisos which includes bottomless iced tea or soda.
International Shwarma Center: This place is packed at all times in the night as it is open to the wee hours of the morning. The have great shwarma sandwiches and plates. The high turnover of product means that this place turns out good food quickly. The average plate will set you back 60 pisos ($1). You will see many cheap mongers splurging for their dates here. They will ask you for spicy or not and the spicy is truly spicy(even for my Thai taste buds). The other crazy thing here is that the sodas are in a glass bottle and are 15 pisos(around 25 cents)
Cottage Kitchen: Easily the best food in Angeles. The owner smokes his own meats and the quality shows. The prices are pretty expensive by AC standards but the food excellent. I have tried the ham hocks and collard greens and their pork ribs and both are excellent. Their deserts are great and peach cobbler is superb. Owner is a nice guy and makes sure you feel at home there. The atmosphere is cozy. At night, serves chicory coffee Café Du Monde style. Most dishes come with corn bread and the baked bread there is awesome.
Subdelicious: Sports Bar food here and done fairly well. Pizzas, buffalo wings and hoagies are very good but a bit pricy by AC standards. They deliver and have take out for those of you staying at an Apartelle without room service. They also now have a Filipino bakery with great baked goods at a cheap price.
Max’s Chicken: Located in Dau so you will have to take a trike here. This is a chain all over the PI but the only one close to Angeles is in Dau and it will take a 5 minute trike to get here with your ko. The place has solid chicken plates at cheap prices and normally has a lot of Filipino families. The best thing here are the fruit shakes and Halo halo desserts. Located across the street from the Bus Station.
Chow King: Located right next to Margarita Station. They have chains in the US and they are everywhere in the PI. Mostly Chinese food with a Filipino flair. Best is to order Ube or Mango shakes with tapioca balls heres or halo halo. Much cheaper than in the states and the place is loaded with bargirls....good place to set up later sessions. I have caught numerous girls with their Pinoy boyfriends here and they told me to promise not to tell certain people. Fuck them, bros before hos.....no secrets with me.
Jollibee/Mcdonalds: They are both located in Dau. They are both good for cheap fast food if your into that. The Jollibee is especially cheap....much cheaper than the ones in the US and they have good peach-mango pies and spaghetti. There is also a Jollibee at Savers Mall.
Ricks Café: Place is outdoors and can be a little hot at times but it is much shadier than the other outdoor cafes. Rick has a good menu of standard American food and the breakfasts are particularly good. Has a business office/internet café next door and there are always DVD movies being shown on the multiple televisions. The waitress’ here are very friendly and asked me if they could txt me later....one girl did and came over in a flash for free sex. Not sure if the girls are available here or not. On Fields Ave.
Ristorante Varona: Great Italian food place located right above Lancelot bar. They have an outdoor patio that gives you an excellent view of the girls walking to and from work and home. Come here around 5-7 and you will see hundreds of girls on their way to work. Great place to say hello to girls you know or future prospects. The Italian food here is good but the pizza is average. There is also an indoor restaurant with ac. The waitress’ here are hot.
Free Food: Another thing to do, especially if you are on a budget is to go to all the events that have free food. Once you make your morning stroll down Fields, you will always see a banner at a small bar advertising free food that night. This is not happy hour food, I’m talking full fledge BBQ’s, buffets, etc. Some are better than others but you will always know the best places to go by following the 350 pound expats who keep a schedule of where the best free food is.

Thanks for the props.
I believe I need to add a couple comments now that I have read it:
MR. FROSTY: Right next to Natalia Apartelle on Fields. Patterned their menu after Dairy Queen with a Filipino twist. I have been here twice and both times hung over. The shakes are watered down, the burgers use horrid meat, the fries are soggy and bread stale. The quality is extremely low...not recommended.
SIAM HOUSE RESTAURANT: They are located on the left side of Perimeter Road just past Honeyko's. The food is OK but you cant expect great Thai food in Phils. The one great thing though is that they have menu's at Honeykos and they deliver for free. I have ordered chicken satay, spicy papaya salad, and pad thai...all fairly decent.
CURRY HOUSE: on the left hand side past Stampede Bar. Very good curry here and sobe noodles. Very authentic Japanese food here for Phils and quite a few Japanese customers love this place.
ZAPATAS: Mexican restaurant located on Fields just past the gas station and the street that leads to Hana Hotel. Very close to Nifty's as well and I believe they will deliver there as I think I remember Porker doing this one time. I think the food is very good considering it's Mexican food in the Pacific Islands. They also serve good margaritas.
JERRY'S CAFE: The most underrated place in Angeles. They serve sizzling steak on a cast iron for less than 5 bucks. They have specials every day and the place caters to those who like comfort food. Easy to get a well cooked, American style meal for 150 pisos or less. Huge servings and the menu changes daily. I would not recommend sitting on the outdoor patio bar stools as the vendors and beggars have extended themselves all the way out here and they are relentless.

You forgot RED SEA across from Blue Nile. Very good arabic food.

Maybe Mx or Hunterman can comment on C's Italian, which definitely is not for the cheap charlie like me, but looked to have AMAZING food.
I agreed with most of what you had to say here, but I was a little ticked at Kokomoz price increases in trips this year. The food USED TO BE cheap, but now it's tough to eat there without spending p200 a person. When I can eat at Sub Delicious for less and sit in a comfy place with air-con, guess where I end up going?
Also, surprised you haven't commented on Krung Thai.

I havent commented on Krung Thai because they are closed. Supposedly bought out by a bar owner wanting to convert it to a gogo bar. There is a place down by Honeykos called Siam House (I think) and they have a kiosk in front of honeykos. Very extensive Thai menu and you can order inside of honeykos and eat there. I also forgot to mention Rick's near Cherry Club which has very good American food and excellent prices and serves a solid sizzling steak for 160 pisos.

C's is a gourmet-quality restaurant with American prices. The food is truly excellent, better than Cottage Kitchen--which is a creole restaurant, so it's not strictly comparable. The chef came out to suggest menu items that were unique and delightful (and expensive), worth waiting for (the service was a tad slow). I wouldn't recommend taking a Filipina here, too expensive for someone who doesn't appreciate the cuisine. Cost about $40+ each with appetizers and dessert, no liquor. Worth it IMHO, since it was totally delicious and different from all the other food available in the area.

I passed your comments re Cottage Kitchen onto Jim, and will add the following:
Jim has been here for 20 years, 10 in the Air Force and 10 in business. If you are interested in knowing the intimate details of the history of this area, and you go to CK on a day when Jim is around to chat, there is no end to what you can learn from this man. For that reason I always call ahead to ascertain if he will be around before going there.
Fortune Tea House. One excellent restaurant that you did not mention is Fortune Tea House on Macarthur Highway, more or less across from Saver's. It offers top-quality Chinese food on a par with the best I've had in LA. The owner recently bought Spencer's on the ground floor of Saver's, and nearly all the dim sum at the former Saver's branch of Fortune are now offered at Spencer's.
The 4 large pieces of Hakaw shrimp for P58, dipped in the calamansi-chili combo that comes with your order, are superb. I usually order a dozen for less than I'd pay for three in LA. Bonus: Free delivery for orders of P500 or more.

Bourbon Street Restaurant, on Fields Ave and opposite of RA Hotel is not too bad either. Expensive by AC standards but nice classy joint with live music. Steaks are exceptional here. But again, not cheap.

MR. FROSTY - I'll second that thumbs down. Had a mediocre burger and cold fries there. How the hell do they manage to serve cold fries? Won't be back for more of that.
ZAPATAS - Big thumbs up from me. Despite the trip out Fields, I'll be making this one of my regular stops in AC.

Indeed, great job on this Blazers.
For Mr. Frosty's, their Filipino selections aren't that bad, i.e. Chicken Adobo, soup noodle dishes. I rarely order non-filipino food here.
I don't know if RnR (sp?) is still around, heard they may be closed, but Dennis Rodman's father is part owner of this place and it actually served up decent soul food -- ribs were good, collared greens, corn; but it took forever cooking the stuff. I think it's across from Chic N Ribs.
At the Halla hotel 1st floor is a decent Korean restaurant which serves up good Korean BBQ. They also have soju.
Also, on the 3rd or 4th floor of the Filipino Casino are 3 or 4 restaurants of different varieties which were pretty good.
