Well, we got up all bleary eyed and made it to the airport. We hopped aboard an ATR 72 from Bangkok Air:
The approach to Siem Reap was beautiful
The Siem Reap Airport is different. All looks normal from the outside. A nice building:
Which had the smallest baggage claim area I have ever seen anywhere. The whole room was about 40’ X 50’ and had a door to bathrooms and this:
This was the whole thing. After your bag came it was put on this little counter and then you walked about 20’ across the room and out of the airport! Really small!
We arrived at around 7:30 am. Knowing we would not be able to check into our hotel that early, we headed out with our driver. Mr. Wee recommended a local and had him meet us at the airport.
We were walking up to the outer gates of Angkor Wat by 8 am.
A bunch of Pics from Angkor Wat.
The outer gate and entrance:
Shot about 300 pics here. This place was astounding. It took a small army 35 years to build it. What an amazing site, one which I have wanted to see for some 20 or so years. A highlight of all my Asia experiences thus far!
Onto Angkor Thom and The Bayon!

Valterreekian, I too was amazed at Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. The photos you posted are great! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
