Thanks and Advice

Before I start my adventure, I’d like to give a few deserving Thanks and advice so that one may appreciate and understand what I will have to say. Without those mentioned, there would be no motivation to write on CH about. There will be more details on them to upcoming write-ups:

1 – My invaluable bud Nellie, whom I had the pleasure of meeting and grateful of initiating contact. He was one of the key players in optimizing my Rio experience – emergency translator, Help advisor/protector, terma hopping bud. Thanks for your watchful eye and tongue, couldn’t have completed my trip without you! Good Times!
2 – Don and Ken from Amerioca Tours: Ken, thanks for getting back to me on all those emails, your sense of humour, and teaching me that soon to be famous phrase ;o). Don, the man everyone knows and everything said about him is true. Very accommodating and a “Rio smarts” man. You can count on him to assist you with contacting key people and garotas for your needs, recommendation of places to eat, guide to the Termas, meeting other mongers, and for any other assistance. I strongly recommend hiring Amerioca Tours if you are new or need extra guidance. Unless you’re experienced or know your way around, he can be an invaluable friend.
3 – BS, thanks for making garota referrals, showing me around the other sights of Rio, your assistance, and security mindedness. Interesting and smart guy, whom I learned more from to enhance my knowledge and experience in Brasil. And to his attractive assistant too, sorry forgot the name :o(
4 – Rogerio: My "Carioca da Gema" tour guide. I was lucky and couldn’t of asked for a more knowledgable, easy going, personable, unselfish, and insightful Tour Guide and Brasileiro. 5 – The true to life CH members: Pappasurf, Jaguar, Doug, James, smallcase Don, Sweetmesquite, Stefan. If I apologize if I missed anyone else. Guys that I had shared a moment with, whether a brief conversation, laugh, or insight. These guys are for real and I can truly understand and appreciate why one would want to retire or visit Brasil often. Thanks for making my stay interesting, enjoyable, and ensuring there was always a story to be told or created every moment.

Advice#1: My main advice, which applies to most of us, starts with having a budget and direction in Brasil. Not all of us are multi-millionaires but would like to experience a fantasy in a place where no one knows us, or don’t care what you do. Know what you can afford and know what you want or turns you on. Personally, I have a blond fetish but my first two girls were cute but not blonds. A few have urged/recommended me to do this girl or that girl and may at times call me picky. But in Brasil, you can and must be selective or else you’ll go fucking every pussy that comes within boner distance and be broke way before your vacation time runs out. The fact of the matter is that no matter what one says, every guy will hold out for something that turns them on. If I was a single multi-millionaire in Rio, sure I’d be doing sessions every waking hour ensuring I get every sweet thing that I see. There are many attractive women to preview and experience so take your time and pace yourself. Don’t be pressured because there is always next time. There was no harm done, only good intentions, but I knew my limits.

Advice#2: Communication - Read reports, Listen to others, and share experiences. Everyone has something interesting and valuable to contribute. A lot of great sessions are had because others discussed their experience about a particular garota. Names and phone#’s get passed and creates options. This can also save you the trouble from a bad experience, or getting you money’s worth.

Advice#3: Learn Brazilian-Portuguese as much as possible. It enhances communication and optimizes your experience overall. A sense of security is also attained since you can get around more comfortably especially in a foreign country.

Great point about being selective. Sometimes it can be hard to do, however, it can greatly enhance your experience.

Thanks guys. I just had a memorable time that I just had to share...just like Jaguar and all the others have done. My personal contribution but more to come.

As for blonds, there were some nice ones there. I'd go elsewhere but i'd have to research more, and money is the biggest factor on where i go and what i do. However, I do agree with you about the best lay thing...I experienced it ;o)

In the future you can always call BS collect from the airport using 9090 then his number. I've done it several times. I know Don very well but never used his services so I don't know if you can call him collect as well but you can inquire with him.

As far as the taxi situation I've done the booths, walked outside past the touts (when I had only 1 bag) to hail a taxi and on my last trip Sweet Mesquite sent Roberto. However the R$50 ride was upped to R$60 because he said he waited a long time. I didn't feel like arguing over R$10 but told him it was not my fault he showed up so early (my flight arrived on time and I was out within 10 minutes of landing).

Next time I'm just taking the booth because I can get them down to R$50 and insist on an air conditioned mini van taxi and outside the taxi would be about R$42 to Copa anyway. Of course it helps that one knows where they are going so for a newbie I would say use Don's guys (ask for Hilton to pick you up).

Yeah, our standard right now is R$60 reals for pickup and R$50 for dropoff. This all goes directly to the driver. The 10 reals difference accounts for parking charges and extra time spent waiting, etc. So Roberto wasn't necessarily trying to jack you, or up the price, it's just what we're running as our standard pickup and dropoff charges right now.

And any of our guests can always call our store collect, but unfortunately, Don's phone is on a plan that doesn't accept collect calls.
