Cozumel is not a dedicated monger destination, but has a nice combination of tourist activities, nice hotels, good restaurants, shopping, great diving, and of course chicas. Hotels in Cozumel range from $30 a night basic accommodations some with a/c & tv, to high end $200 a night places. There are also many nice all inclusive places, but most are a long way from town and could cost $20 cab fare each way.

There are several very good restaurants offering a range of cuisine, including a couple really good Italian places and of course seafood is abundant everywhere, but not cheap. Actually a little side note here, for anyone who has not been to Coz for a few years, you will be shocked. Cozumel now has malls, a movie complex, and unfortunately a host of U.S. fast food joints including Mc Donald's, DQ, Pizza Hut to name a few. The economy seems to revolve around the armada of cruise ships that arrive almost daily. A nice meal can be in the $30-$50 range, but there are many lower cost options all the way to very good taco places where you can eat for $5 or $6, most are a little out of the way though.

Most visitors rarely venture much past the main drag, (Ave Melgar) unfortunately, as you will get a very different experience as you move in farther. There are two business districts one close to the waterfront for tourists, the other as you approach Ave 30 to Ave 65, where the locals do their business. Other than restaurants where you can just point (menus are in spanish) at what you want, a little spanish would be helpful in this part of town. The prices and attitudes change as you move into the city.

There is a wide variety of tourist activities here sailing, fishing, snorkel tours, shopping, or just doing the beach thing. The east side of the island is practically deserted other than a few very funky bars and restaurants and has great beaches. The shinning star of activities here is the diving. If you hook up with the right dive operation and they get to know you and are comfortable with your abilities, you can go to some of the best dive sites in this part of the world.

Now for the mongering, there are several options in Cozumel for chicas. One thing I have noticed though is that there seems to be a lot of turnover among the chicas and one place may be good this time and it is somewhere else next time. I should also mention that my method is usually to find one girl and hook up for a few days instead of having a large number of partners. I go frequently, so I see who the new girls are and am always looking for that diamond in the rough, that new girl, young, sweet and not jaded yet. I will get phone #,s, email, and stay in contact, write love letters etc. I may see that girl for a few trips until she moves on, or develops an attitude.

The most popular place recently has been Caribbean Queen. It is located a few miles from town ($8-$10 cab fare). CQ is bar with rooms out back, the rooms are nice with showers. There is a stage where girls dance naked, but have never figured out the schedule, if they have one. There is a large screen with porno playing all the time. Drinks aren't outrageous, don't know about mixed drinks but cervazas $2 or$3, chica drinks are $7, I believe, there is no cover charge. I have seen as many as 40 girls there and as few as 10, sometimes you can get whiplash looking around at all the hotties and the next time have to look hard to find someone you like. The asking price is $100 + $30 for the room for one hour some girls are negotiable some are not. For toda la noche I have been quoted $200-$300 + $50 bar fine and these were from young good looking girls. I suspect less for 5's or 6's in late 20's to early 30's. I should mention that you may have problems getting girls in your room at most hotels and will need to make arrangements before hand if possible. Hours are from 8PM-9PM till early morning.

Another place that is popular is Salsa located near the international cruise ship pier. This place caters to cruise ship passengers and crew. If there are ships in port they are open, but close late afternoon or early evening when the boats leave. The prices here are better $60-$80 dollars an hour, but these are high volume chicas. I have been told the popular ones mat do 10-20 guys on a good day. I have had trouble finding girls I like here, if they are there you have to look around they seem to hide in nooks and around corners. The only english spoken here is increments of time and money. There doesn't seem to be any interest in going to hotels.

The Greenhouse Cigar Bar is located downtown. They usually have a stable of 6 to 12 girls most in there late 20' to early 30's. Though I have pulled a couple novias out of here, both young local girls, the selection is generally weak. It isn't a bad place to go for a drink and a cigar in the afternoon though. The asking price is $100 + $30 for the room, but varies considerably depending on the girl.

Platinos is a strip club that recently moved to a beautiful new building. Unfortunately since the move prices have gone up and the quality has gone down, sometimes way down. I used to really like the old place downtown it was expensive even 5 or 6 years ago, but talk about hotties. I took a couple movies stars back to my hotel a few years ago one was 18 the other 19, one looked like a young Salma Hayek, only better looking. Even 5 years ago it cost $200 for a couple hours with one of these girls, but I don't know where in the U.S. you would even find a girl of this quality, if you could I am sure it would cost thousands. I keep hoping they will return to caliber of girls they used to have, but unfortunately they haven't. I always go back once each trip just to check.

The other option is the regular bars and discos. These places can be dead or really jumping it depends a lot on the season. The hot place seems to move around a lot to so you have to check when there. The last time I was there it was Senor Frogs, but check Viva Mexico, Joe's Reggae House, maybe Carlos and Charlie's or ask around where to go. Not only do they have drunk horny tourist chicks, but locals go also. There is a good chance to meet some store clerk who needs to supplement her income as they don't get paid very well, or a girl out looking for some fun. You also need to keep in mind that some girls in bars are no longer able to work as a prostitutes because they can't get a health card anymore.

There are few other more local places that I have been told by cab drivers "not for you" so I never checked them out. There is one place I've been and can save you the trouble, I think it is called Mak Chul, do your self a favor and don't go.
