I did write a Singapore/Philippines trip report already, it's been posted.

I had intended to go to Batam Island but sort of got talked out of it by a Singaporean man who said it was dangerous and that's the information I had read prior to getting there too.

Singapore was fun enough and it felt completley safe to roam around in at any hour. The main thing is they want too much for LT there, so I headed over to the Philippines specifically for that. I'd definitely go with a travel buddy though to Batam Is.
