A few months ago I committed to creating a destination guide for Macau. Amazingly enough, here it is, the first edition of what I plan to be an ongoing series of Murasaki Macau User Manuals. I’ve integrated updated maps into the guide itself. Hopefully this manual will aid Hombres if they ever decide to explore this little gem of a destination. Enjoy and happy hunting!

My hats off to you Mura, what an excellent guide. Easy to read and very well organized. I particuarly liked the customized map and the "$$$" ratings for the spas; and you even included the tip about taking business cards or written directions in Chinese, which is a must IMO.

IMO, Darlings 2 is also worth a look as they had a few real cute girls, not as big as Darlings 1 and I recall a bit less expensive.

Too bad the lisboa freelancers were asking for so much, I hope it's not a permanent development b/c it's double the price in less than 2 years. The freelancers are still a sight to see, some really fine looking girls. Tricky to find, but you won't have any doubts when you get to the basement level. But I do think a few of them Lisboa freelancers tried to rush the sessions upstairs, and a couple of times, the freelancer's roommate was in the next bed.

Thanks guys. I figured I'd better get this done now while I did have the time. Looks like new business may be around the corner and the free time is about to disappear.

Thanks Murasaki for this good information on Macau. I have been meaning to get over there I was just afraid to go most of my trips are solo so I do keep a low profile but armed with your Manuel I think I will feel a lot safer because I know were to go and have an ideal on the action thanks.

Great manual Murasaki, I'll be in Macau March 26 for a few days. Your timing was perfect. One suggestion I would like to see is translation for common phrases we use with the girls. There use to be some around here for english to spanish. How about adding english to chinese? Some phrase you can't look up in a dictionary.

Blue, although theoretically a good one, the problems with your idea are somewhat manifold. First, I speak neither of the major Chinese languages, Mandarin or Cantonese, nor any of the sub-dialects. Second, given the international diversity of offerings, one would need to include Vietnamese, Korean, Russian, Thai, and Mongolian, at the very least, in addition to Mand/Canto. You could actually monger through Macau and never fuck a Chinese girl.

Lastly, the Chinese languages are complex tonal languages; Mandarin has 4 tones and Cantonese has 9 if I remember correctly. Get the tone wrong and people won't understand what you are saying. It would be pretty tough to convey the proper tone in my little guide for an audience that has no knowledge of the language!

I found a few co-workers who can read/write the different Chinese languages. They said they could write down whatever I wanted. Now to figure out what to ask.

Nicely Done! Gonna have to print the map when I go there again later this year. The selection of available body types and nationalities really make mongering a feast there!

Macau updates

I recently had an overnight in Macau, so I thought I’d provide a few updates on what I found. Macau has changed dramatically in the past couple of years due to the massive casino boom. Since I put this guide together, the Lisboa Grand has been completed, and the Wynn, MGM, and StarWorld casino complexes have all appeared in the traditional casino area near the old Lisboa. And of course the massive Venetian Macau has opened over on the “Cotati Strip” between Taipa and Coloane islands.

One result of this massive boom and concomitant influx of gamblers is that hotel rates have gone up across the board, even on weekdays. To stay at a decent 3 or 4 star hotel is now costing around $70-100 a night, a large increase from a few years back.

Other changes to note:

Apparently Bank of America has shut down their Macau operations. Both locations listed on my map have been taken over by China Construction Bank, and BofA is no longer listed in the phone book.

The Grandeur Hotel has changed names, and is now called the Metro Park.

There seems to be a shortage of cabs in Macau now. On a few occasions it took me quite a while to find one that was available. It appears cab numbers have not increased in line with the increase in visitors.

Mongering notes:

Due to the brief amount of time, I only hit two venues. The first was the Ruby girlie hotel on the west side. Things are still the same there. When I walked in there were only three girls in the lobby, but all were eager for business. My “how much” was greeted with “400” by all three, but when I said no, 300, they all said ok immediately. I wound up taking a big-boobed one up for a quick ride, as I was very tired and felt like I was going to pass out at any moment.

Later that night after a long nap and dinner, I took a cab out to Hot Spot, my favorite Macau joint. Things are still the same there. It was still 400 for one hour. The lineup they brought into my room was massive, probably close to 25 girls, both Chinese and Vietnamese, though honestly looks-wise it was probably the worst selection I’ve ever seen there. There was one really cute Chinese spinner, so three guesses as to which one I sessioned with.

Going to Hong Kong Airport

One final note about leaving Macau. I have never needed to take the direct ferry to Hong Kong airport prior to this visit, so this was my first experience at actually doing so. What I discovered is that when you take this ferry, you only have to go through immigration once, as you leave Macau. Upon arrival at the airport, there is an airline counter area at the ferry dock, where you check your bags and get your boarding pass. After that, the bus drops you off inside the terminal in the gate area, so you never have to go through Hong Kong immigration. I found this to be incredibly efficient, and was pleased that some government entities figured out a way to make things easier for travelers. Anything to avoid another immigration queue is a major plus in my book.

Another bonus is that if you come in by the ferry, you are entitled to a refund of the HK airport user’s fee, which is 120 HK dollars, or about $15 US. I have no idea why this is, but I went to the refund counter before I got on the bus and got my money. Cool.

Murasaki: Thanks for the update. During my first trip to Macau, I got reasonably good service at places like the Ruby (some of which have since closed), indeed a couple of sessions that were quite memorable. However, during my last trip, which was probably a couple of years ago, I saw a serious service decline, which may have simply reflected the luck of the draw or, alternatively, something more significant.

Any thoughts on this?

YMMV is always the rule in Macau. I'd have to say the most mercenary working girls I've encountered were in Macau. So every session is a crap shoot, pun intended. But there are times when you get lucky and cum out a winner.

Very helpful stuff Mura, and I agree w/both of you that the gals in Macau were a bit jaded and lacking in service generally. I understand many gals in Macau are from the mainland with a limited time on their visas or there illegally, and so less likely to aim for repeat customers. Also, most of the "johns" are visting and not regulars. The Lisboa gals with the limited time allotments to patrol the beat, were the ones most in a rush. Better service and better quality I thought for much cheaper prices in Zhuhai and outlying areas as of August 07.

Looking forward to another great trip report from Murasaki regarding his most recent travels, especially in Thailand.

Murasaki: thanks for a very useful guide. I only had 24 hours in Macau but your guide helped me to get the maximum mileage out of my time there.

A few notes/updates from my trip which you may wish to take into account:

I stayed in the Royal Hotel (very comfortable). Went downstairs to make use of their sauna facilites as advertised on my key card and your guide, only to find that the sauna had recently been replaced by a not-so-good nightclub called MP4.

After a tour of the short time hotels mentioned in your guide, I was passing the Hotel Man Va when I caught sight of a older looking FL or possibly mamasan. Great tits. She took me back to the nearby Hospedaria Vo Peng, which turns out to be slightly more than just a 'boarding house'. In fact it is another short time hotel, same as Ruby, etc, except that the girls wait in the 'reception' area upstairs, rather than the ground floor lobby in the case of the other establishments. Only had a quick look at what was on offer but it was definitely waaaay downmarket. But price was cheap at $200 HK for a quickie. I fell foul to the 2 for 1 trick that you warned against, which spoiled what would otherwise have been a great cheapo session.

Girls at Lisboa Hotel are knockout, in looks and the way they dress. I watched several transactions but did not bother to negotiate as price would have been out of my league. They had plenty of takers though.

Freeelancer alley had zero action, maybe due to police presence on every corner.

All in all, Macau is a great place for a short stopover and a perfect hub for cheap travel around SE Asia. I flew into Hong Kong, and then used Macau to get to Thailand, China and AC using Air Asia, Macau Airlines, and Tiger respectively. For Brits, Hong Kong flights with BA are around $400 US cheaper than to BKK, for same distance. Go figure!

Recently I visited Macau via trnsit at Bangkok from India by Thai airway upto bangkok and further by Air Asia. One should not visit in transit booking by low cost airlines. as at Bangkok airport on arriaval and departure I had to spend 1000 BTH each way to get the boarding pass and it is a punishment and additional cost by flying low cost airlines as low cost airlines in this region has not have any agreement with measure airlines
