My last visit to Bandung was exactly August 18th 2003 and that is almost 3 years ago. It was time for me to visit one of my favourite cities within easy driving distance from Jakarta.

Delightful Cafes, Art Deco, beautiful Sunda women and lovely mountain air, that’s what Bandung is known for!

Bogor Area golf detour
Leaving Jakarta at 2.40pm having collected the car from Hertz’s office in Jl. Thamrin, my first stop was the Bogor Raya Golf Club off the Bogor Exit of the Jagorawi Highway, approximately 40 km from Jakarta. Arriving at the club just after 4pm, the beautiful receptionists informed me politely that it was too late for me to play. Latest tee-off times are set at 2pm they said. Friends had informed me that the caddies here are cute and cheeky to the point of being highly “adventurous” with the golfers! Well, that has to be another mission for another day!

Back to the highway and the last 20 km of highway to the Puncak road for the weary crawl to Bandung thereon.

By the time the car arrived at the outskirts of Bandung’s Pastuer area, it was already 7.20pm and pretty dark.

On hindsight, it would have been a more relaxing and faster drive for me to have headed back towards Jakarta by hihgway and then double back to Bandung on the new Cikampek highway.

My little geographic knowledge of Bandung was put to the test. Signboards were my savior. Chose those that pointed towards “Balai Kota” (town hall) first, and then, signboards that said Jl. Asia Afrika before honing in for the Grand Preanger Hotel on that road..

Freshened up with a shower and made a decision to have dinner in the hotel instead of going out. That evening, they had an American barbecue promotion at Rp 85,000++, seemingly, a bargain. On inspection, I spotted cute Cu Cu, a lovely Sunda lady waiting the tables. Sold!

Tucked away 3 helpings of grilled mid-sized prawns, some salad and a good choice of fresh locally cut fruits.

Jl Braga Café Bars
After dinner, my first stop was the Jl. Braga stretch of Bars and Cafes which are favourites with many foreign visitors to Bandung. Jl. Braga is often cited as the fashionable walk of Bandung’s cafes and fashionable shops. Today, it has lost some of it’s lustre, overshadowed by the many huge shopping malls in Jl. Dago and Jl. Chiampelas.

Having discussed with the hotel concierge the top two places in Jl. Braga, I peeked into the Roempoet Café where a local band was just getting geared up to play. Some men were spread out in the bar and no girls in sight except for a couple of waitresses. Perhaps, it was still early for the place.

Next door, at the North Sea Dutch Bar, were 8 women on the bar stools awaiting “prospects” while the pool table at the rear had a few customers playing. Sat at the bar near the pool table and ordered a draft beer and was immediately “signalled” by the 8 women on the other side. My “Asian Eyes”ratings gave them anything between a 2 and 4 on a scale of 10.

One of the girls at the pool table looked about “4” and I spoke to her about playing. She promptly had my name on the board. Shot some pool, finished a couple of beers and walked a little further down Jl. Braga just to see what else there was. Round the corner, the Braga Dangdut, a local kind of hostess dance club and the Fantasi Karaoke. Further down after that junction, the Grand Caesers Night Club (asian styled) with many pretty hostesses in a showcase.

Got into the car and started towards Jl. Dago (Jl. H. R. Juanda) to look for the Roppongi Papi Club, tipped to have the loveliest hostesses in all of Bandung. Took a few wrong turns and had to stop a couple of times for directions. I did not have a decent map with me. Finally found RP Club and stopped in front of the lighted signboard. Drove into the compound parked, and went up to level 3 as advised by the security guard.

A mid 30s handsome local guy walked up to me and greeted me. He said, sorry, “malam ni tidak ada girls lagi”. Yes, it was 11pm on a Thursday night and he confirmed with me that none of his 54 girls were available, stressing that one huge party in the large karaoke room had the last 2 girls as they had just arrived ahead of me. There went my major plan to pull an expensive girl for the night from their top line club to check out first hand if it was worth the money!

Requested a quick look around and he accompanied me on that ‘tour”. Well, no point hanging around if the ceweks are not available. Collected his name card and said thanks anyway.

Headed towards Jl. Chiampelas taking care to start at the northerly end because it’s a long one-way street.

My next stop, the latest trendy place of Bandung, CiWalk (Chiampelas Walk) where the Embassy Club is located.

Found it without much problems. It was about 11.40 and I was allowed to walk straight into the Club at Level 3 of the place. Inside, some couples and small groups of local trendy looking young men and women and one oldy expat! That made it two oldies in there, him and me!

Sat at the bar and ordered my beer which was priced at 30,000 rupiahs. A good 30 minutes patient wait and the crowd did not improve on that slow Thursday night in Embassy. The bar staff said that it would be better on Friday and Saturday. Well, time to move on!

Tropicana Café
A little further down Jl. Chiampelas, I parked the car in front of the building that I remembered as the Studio East Disco. Went up the elevator (from the basement) to the Tropicana Café and a good punk band was in session. Most of clientele were local guys with their sprinklings of girl companions. Had to pay the entrance fee for which no drinks are given. That annoyed me a little!

Sat around the bar for a good 20 minutes and concluded that there was no game there either! Forgot to check if Studio East was still operating or superceded by Tropican Café!

Jl. Sudirman area
Drove the car towards Jl. Asia Afrika and further down, Jl. Sudirman to look for Sandra Massage, the neighbouring small karaoke places and the disco 2001.

It was past midnight and Sandra was closed. Went straight into 2001 and the burly person at the entrance wanted me to get a ticket. Enquired with him if there were many people inside and he said YES. Asked him to let me look inside to see if it was worth it, and he nodded. There was a total of about 30 people inside, mostly guys and a sprinkling of not more than 10 girls.

Went back out and negotiated with him to let me stay promising to order drinks if he could waive the entrance fee of 50,000 for which only soft drinks were given. Some hesitation and he agreed. Inside, I ordered a large beer and positioned myself to be the “target”.

Quickly enough, a small group of girls circled to check me out. The tallest and prettiest approached me to talk and finally squeezed a “Long Island” out of me.. Wasted almost 100,000 on that for her. She asked for cigarettes and I reached into my pocket and produced for her a choice of Marlboro Lights and Marlboro Lights Menthol. She took the Menthol. I had purchased them earlier outside in the streets for 9,000 each. It’s always best to bring some cigarettes with you because the girls will ask you for cigarettes without fail. In the clubs, they cost at least 20,000 per packet! Forgot that the girls prefer the ‘kreteks”, the local cigarettes made with cloves.

At that moment, she was the only choice in that club. All the other girls were below “par” and not my type. During that half hour, she was ok and alluded to going back with me. However, she started to hassle me for drinks for her friends and I got tired of it. Made a conscious decision that it was going to be an empty night with this girl. Took her outside to see if she would still look nice in the light. At the same time to ask her to go back with me and she said, “Saya datang dengan teman teman di sini. Malam ni tidak bisa.” Call me tomorrow.” (I came with friends here. Not tonight. Call me tomorrow.) Collected her mobile number and left for a lonely night in the hotel. Since I was tired, it did not matter.

Golf at Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Resort
Woke up quite late at 9am and had a nice buffet breakfast in the hotel. Many families had checked in for the weekend and already, the swimming pool had quite a few children playing within.

Got organized, checked the directions and route on the map and headed out towards Jatinagor where the Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Course is located 20 kms away. The entrance is precisely where you arrive at Jatinagor close to the University there. Doubled back when it became obvious that I had passed the turn-off.

By the time I unloaded my golf bag (and the two girls there were cute), it was 11.20 am and I said, “ada caddy yang cantik macam kamu?” (Any caddies that are pretty like you?). The girls laughed and said, “tidak ada, caddy aja.” (no, just caddy only) Damm, there goes my caddy fuck!

Playing golf alone and without a pretty caddy is no different from “masturbation”. Teed off at 11.45 and focused on having a respectable score while taking pictures of the course for my record. By 1.55pm, I was finished and in the clubhouse where I positioned myself on the terrace overlooking the 18th green. Called for drinks and ordered some simple food.

Looking down near the starter’s hut, I spotted a few girls seated there of which one looked reasonably cute from afar. Waved at her that I was taking her picture and she posed for me. After I took the shot with the zoom, I walked down to her and showed her the picture and asked her if she was a caddy. “Saya kerja di Spa. Datang lah situ for massage.” (I work at the Spa, come over for massage.) She said. My response, “hari ni tidak bisa, lain kali, apa nombor HP kamu?” ( Cannot today, next time, what is your mobile phone number?) She took my cellphone and keyed it in for me.

Said bye and walked back to eat my lunch and at the same time, sent her an SMS message, “ malam ni mau bertemu di Bandung?” (Would you like to meet in Bandung tonight?)

Meantime, some allergy triggered off and my nose started to get congested. With that, I knew that my eye was going to swell. Quickly finished my meal and washed up. In the changing room, I examined my eye and it was SWELLING UP pretty quickly.

Quickly loaded up my golf clubs and started driving for Bandung. As the car left the premises of the club, her reply came, “malam ni, saya kuliah, tidak bisa.” (Tonight I am studying, cannot).

I replied, “apa tu kuliah, tidak erti?” (what is kuliah? I don’t understand)

She replied “kuliah – pergi universitas study.” (Kuliah – go to University for studies)

My phone rang and she was on it saying, “kamu di mana, boleh tunggu ku habis kerja jam 5, pergi ka bandung, Universitas?” (where are you, can you wait for me to finish work at 5, and go along to Bandung to the University?)

A dilemma. My eye was continuing to swell, making me highly uncomfortable and yet, I wanted to wait. “Sori, mata ku kenal allergy, saya sekarang berangkat ka hotel, malam ni jumpa aja di Bandung,” I said. (Sorry, my eye developed some kind of allergy, now, I leave for my hotel, we meet tonight in Bandung.)

She said, “apa allergy?” (what allergy?). I replied, “tidak tau, tapi sekarang, saya pulang ka hotel untok cari ubat.” (Don’t know, now, I return to hotel and looking for medicine.) Nanti talipon kau ok?” (Call you later OK) She said “OK”.

I drove straight back to the hotel, parked the car and went to my room. Filled up the hot water in the sink and applied hot compress on the swollen eye. After about 40 minutes, the swelling subsided and the swell was only about 20 per cent of what it had been.

Text messaged her on the phone to ask her where to meet and she replied, “di STIEYPKP di Jl. Suci, Bandung, jam 7.30 malam.” (At STIEYPKP at Jl, Suci, Bandung at 7.30pm) My reply, “OK, bila saya sampai, saya call kamu.” (OK, when I arrive, I call you.)

Swollen eye under control, it was now possible to check out Bandung’s equivalent of Surubaya’s Dollys.

Parked the car in Jl. Gardujati outside the Hotel Trio. Walked into the side lane taking me into the area and I was immediately accosted by a guy. He said, “mau cewek?” and I nodded. He led me to a total of 3 houses and the selection of girls in each was between 6 to 12 girls with a quality of 2 to 4 in my eyes. I said, “ada lagi” (any more) and he asked me to sit and wait for other girls upstairs but, I declined. Gave him a small tip of 5,000 and left Saritem as I was running late for my date. The hotel had given me a poorly designed map of a few main roads and, I had great difficulty finding Jl. Suci which had the real name of Jl. Surapati – connecting with Jl. PH Hasan Mustapha.

Near STIEYPKP, there was another University (Itenas) and I stopped many times along the way asking directions in my limited Indonesian. Luckily, she had her mobile phone and I was able to assure her that I was lost and on the way, but in the vicinity. By the time I picked her up, it was 8.45 pm. It did not help that there was no lighting outside the University with the signboard.

We headed to look for a nearby dinner location and ended up with her suggesting “Kentucky Fried Chicken. I asked, “kamu suka Kentucky?” (you like Kentucky?) and, she said “ya, suka.” (Yes, I like) and so, there we ended up, a less than romantic dinner at “KFC somewhere in the NE end of Bandung.

We learnt a bit more of each other and she also informed me that her friend was waiting for her at the University to return to Jatinagor at 10pm. She had to go to work at 5.30 am. It was a nice encounter and the devil in me asked her to have coffee in my room and, to invite her friend to join us too. She declined very politely and said perhaps, next time.

I sent her back to the Universitas to meet her friend and the two of them took off on that one motorcycle back to Jatinagor. There goes my romantic fuck I thought, well, time for some p4p!

It was a Friday night and there was no way I would get a girl in Roppongi Papi given the Thursday night “sellout”. Having slept alone the last night, I wanted to ensure that I emptied out my pipe and went straight to Jl. Cibadak to have a look at the selection at Citra. There were many men mingling around and the selection of the remaining 15 odd girls were between 2-4 in looks. Instead of waiting around, I left and drove round to Sandra.

At Sandras, all the girls were preparing to leave and there was only one other customer in the place. He was waiting for his friend who was inside having a session with one of the ladies. All I had were the old photos on the table top to choose from. Mami said, I could call out the girls for a physical look if I wanted. I gave her my specs and she had one of the girls come out. From afar, she looked too big to be my type so I waved her away quickly. Meri another girl was asked to come out and she was A-OK for me at that late hour. Facially, about 5 with smooth skin on her lithe legs, her main attraction in my eyes.

Asked her to have a drink and she sat down at the small bar with me to have a Guiness while I nursed a beer. She was most polite and asked me to session there. I said, NO, I prefer to take her out. On premise, the session would be 50k for the room and 200k for her. On enquiry, she said for off-premise at my hotel, I would have to pay for 3 hours 150k to Sandra and 500k for her. Informed her that I only needed 90 minutes and would pay her 300k and she declined very politely saying, she was on the way back to kampong early in the morning, Perhaps, another time. We both finished out drink and she excused herself most sweetly suggesting to me that Disco 2001 a few doors away would have many young pick ups for sure. I was encouraged.

Sat down near the exit just chatting with the other guest and the Mami and walking past me were 3 girls. One was petite just the way I like them and I said hi. She said, “Hi, saya Feti, mau pulang.” (Hi I am Feti now going home). I pulled her down to sit and she was interested to have a session but “on-premise”. I said, NO, “ka hotel kamu”. Again the sum of 500k came up and I explained once again “Short Time, satu kali aja”, (ST, one shot only) and she relented. Paid up the 150k to the mami and led her to the car.

Within minutes, we were at the hotel and I asked if she had been there before. She said once only but the size of my room and it’s amenities surely surprised her. Turned on the computer and played some Indonesian music and asked her to make some tea for us.

She warmed up much and came sat on my lap and pulled me to her body. We kissed and groped as lovers. The water boiled and she made tea, and we resumed our mutual gratification of each other’s body, DFK and more groping all over.

Seemed timeless those moments and I finally broke away and said, “mau mandi”? She said, “sudah, kamu aja” (already, you alone) so, I went and washed up quickly in the shower.

Back in the room in my shorts, I led her to the bed and we continued to explore each other’s body and I asked if she wanted a massage. She nodded and I said, massage me first. Rolled over and let her do her thing.

After a good 30 minutes, I turned around pulled her to lie face down and gave her my routine. The hard massage followed by the soft sensual touches that I have learnt over the years.

In the process, I had her clothes off quickly enough. My hands approached her sensitive groin area and caressed fleeting touches on the lips of her entrance without stopping. Glancing touches that tease and aroused her with each pass and her body twisted and tightened each time my hands came and went away.

Soon, she was pleading me to enter her and I had her sheath my instrument of sex which was as solid as I ever had. To see a woman in desire is the Viagra that turns my system on. I turned on my back and pulled her to ride me and she slid down to pull me into her. I could feel her full wetness and it slipped in.

For the next 15 minutes, she rode me till she came gasping and holding me hard with both hands on my body. In good control that night, I then flipped us around and rolled to be on top of her and used my Johnny to make short gentle strokes entering her only with half my length, in and out quickly but gently. Every now and then, I pushed one fully in deep into her abyss had before resuming short gentle slow half stokes. Each complete deep stroke, she came up to meet my shaft making sure it was all the way in.

When close to bursting, I stopped and allowed myself to recover and start all over again. The session lasted a good 40 minutes before I decided to flip her round for some doggie. Doggied for about 5 minutes and flipped back to missionary, my favourite for deep penetration and control. When she reached her peak again, I told her I was coming, grabbed her body tightly to mine and drove for home!. Minutes later, with her breast to mine, with the lower body banging to one another. With a gigantic eruption, the latex filled up and my Johnny tingled away sweetly within her.

Once separated and apart, we rested and she reached for her mobile to ask me for my number. I gave her my name card and had her number nicely stored in my mobile phone’s memory. I would certainly repeat on my next trip,

She asked me if I wanted her to stay and I said for her to go as I had to drive back early in the morning to Jakarta. The temptation was great and yet, I had already been fully satisfied!

The drive in the morning after a sumptous hotel breakfast was uneventful except for the horrible traffic I picked up trying to enter Jakarta from the North East via “Cilincing” – Tg Priok. A bad mistake that cost me 2 hours of that late morning. Time that could have been used more productively in one of Kota’s Saunas or whorehouse joints!

Getting to Bandung

Trains
You can use train from Jakarta or any other main city in Java. Jakarta-Bandung will cost you Rp80.000,- (1 USD is less than Rp10.000,-) for 3 hours trip. Train departs every hour from 7am to 8pm. A European Quality Train if you take the “Argo Dede”.

(see http://infoka.kereta-api.com/jadwal_dan_tarif/artikel.php?ka=argo+gede-parahyangan)
Argo Gede was first launched on July 31, 1995 and was indexed JB-250 which means that it travels from Jakarta to Bandung and vice versa in 2.5 hours. Its launching ceremony was done by the President of the Republic of Indonesia to commemorate 50 years of Indonesia's independence. Later Argo Gede II was launched on May 10, 2001 to add the frequency of travel to 4 times a day from Bandung to Jakarta and vice versa. There are 300 seats in 6 executive cars. Flying In
There are also direct flights from Jakarta and Surabaya. Flight Jakarta-Bandung will cost about Rp300K; Surabaya-Bandung Rp600.000. Air Asia Flies Direct to Bandung from Kuala Lumpur and costs are from RM 199 upwards depending on promotions and other factors. Check http://www.airasia.com

From Jakarta, if you are visiting Bandung, you can hire a car and drive to Bandung on the new Cikampek Highway. Its less than 2 hours on this highway road of 120+ kilometers of highway and you get to Pastuer on the North East of Bandung very quickly. The major time will be spent getting on to the highway in Jakarta and off when you arrive in Pasteur in Bandung area.

Accommodation
Hotels
Price range from Rp150.000,- (Melati-class motels) to Rp1.5 millions (Hyatt Regency - 5 stars). If you're tight in budget, try Hotel Cemerlang at Jl. Pasirkaliki (Rp100K-300K /night, breakfast included) - 3 minutes walk from train station. From there you can access many places at ease.

My personal favourites are the Grand Preanger and Savoy Homan along Jl, Asia Afrika because these are two historical landmark hotels of this city. The Grand Preanger has a great colonial air about it while the Savoy Homan is an Art Deco masterpiece with an overall shape of a cruise liner.

For those seeking branded propeties to stay, there are the Sheraton and Hyatt Hotels in Bandung.

Massage Places (Except for Sandra and Citra, I did not visit the others on this trip).

1. Sandra – 12 pm tp 12 midnight. This is one of my favourites of Bandung with great service and a decent selection of girls in smaller quantity than Citra but, better overall in my opinion. I had never failed to pull a trick here whenever I visit. Prices are 50,000 per hour and if you want full service, they ask for 200,000 tip. Booking out is possible at a minimum of 3 hours and the girls will ask for 500,000 if you are a foreigner. If you are a local, there will obviously be a different rate. This place was recommended to me by a marauging local monger as his favourite and he surely knew his Bandung.

2. Citra Massage at Jl. Cibadak
Arriving at around 11.20 pm, the talent line up of 15 girls remaining in the room was not impressive to me. None was up to scratch. However, it is possible that the better ladies were serving clients in the on-premise rooms.

3. Crystal (formerly known as Aloha) - 7pm-11pm Jl. Otto Iskandar Dinata, less than 5 minutes walk from train station.

4. Valentine - 7pm-11pm Jl. Jend. Sudirman.

5. Jayalestari - 7pm-11pm Jl. Jend. Sudirman, 5 minutes walk from Valentine.

6. Prameswari - 7pm-11pm Jl. Astana Anyar

7. Sariayu - 7pm-11pm Jl. Astana Anyar - One building next to Prameswari. Not much different from Prameswari.

8. According to a visiting Jakarta socialite, he checked out Ozone at Citysquare, Jl. Abdul Rahman Saleh No 9 and he said the talent was awesome. Unfortunately, I did not have time to check this out myself. This outlet is linked to a huge upmarket Massage chain in Jakarta.

9. Cibadak Shiatsu - 6pm-11pm Jl. Cibadak, This is normal clean massage place.

Whorehouse district
Saritem is the infamous local prostitution centre of Bandung. This is where many locals go to let off their rocks.

It has been said that Saritem is Bandung’s equivalent of Dollys, more compact and smaller but tolerated by the local authorities because sex is a way of life.

Approximately 200-300 prostitutes of low to medium quality. Price range from 50K (low-quality service, average face/body), 75K (medium-quality service, pretty face with average body), 100K (higher quality but looking at these prices, what do you expect?

Walk into the area and pimps will approach you and bring you to the houses therein. It’s relatively lively and bright and while the alleyways are narrow and crampted, the area and houses are busy. Get in, sit down and order a drink so you can suss out if the talent is up to your standards. The girls awaiting customers are seated on the chairs and you can also wait to see those who are busy serving customers in the rooms.
When you have picked the girl you want, tip the pimp 20- 30k. The room charges are 15 to 20k per hour and you pay the girl in the bar-like reception area after you have enjoyed the service.

In my visit to 3 houses in a space of 30 minutes, I only saw about 2 -3 girls that I could be persuaded to have provided I had spiked myself with enough drinks. The place was generally too down-market for my taste. Those who like the Cambodian – Surabaya’s Dolly places might thrive here at these prices.

Top of the Line Places in Bandung
Caesers used to be the top place in Bandung as far as hostesses are concerned and as with most of Indonesian hostess clubs, you pay for the company of the girls to sit with you and she cannot leave the club until it closes.

Only regulars and big spenders will thrive in these clubs but, its always a pleasure when you have your conquest as these girls are amongst the prettiest you can find in the business. It’s just a short walk from the end of Jl. Braga coming from the café pubs of this road. I did not have time to check out this place as I was focused on what’s new in Bandung at the higher end of the spectrum. On my last visit more than 2 years ago, there were at least 50 – 70 girls in the showroom.

Roppongi Papa is the latest and hottest of Bandung’s high end hostess KTV Club. While it has a Japanese name, it is not exclusively a Japanese club and all are welcome provided you can afford the bills. Hostesses are 60,000 per hour and a minimum of 2 hours to sit with you. Drinks are relatively expensive but, to be expected in a club of this stature. It’s at Jl. H.R. Juanda (Jl. Dago) with a medium sized lighted signboard outside. Locals tell me that this is the place.

Late Night Discos
Embassy and Score1 at CiWalk are local’s current favourite places to see and be seen. Many couples and groupies and very few freelancers during my visit on a Thursday night. I would expect that weekends may be different. Definitely a place where the haves flaunt their money and have fun.

Tropicana Café along Jl. Chiampelas where Studio East used to be. It’s rather a shadow of what it used to be when the Studio East was the dominant disco in all of Bandung many years ago. Now, a good local Punk Group is playing and proving to be popular with locals. Again, on a late Thursday night, the major clientele were men and their few ladies. I did not spot a single freelance girl in my short visit at just after 12.30 am. I would not write it off and would perhaps visit on a weekend if I am around Bandung again.

Planet 2001 Disco along Jl. Sudirman is the most consistent place to meet freelance girls out to be picked up for a session. On a very late Thursday night, I saw about 10 available ladies and it was already 1am. Locals tell me that Friday and Saturday nights are the best and I do believe this to be true. This visit, I did not partake because a beautiful SYT was busy hustling me for drinks for her and her friends. I decided that she was not going to give in to me easily. Recommended if you like Disco freelance action – Fridays and Saturdays are best.

Mall and Shopping Pick Ups.
Bandung is infamous for being a nice place to go shopping and meet ABGs (anak baru gede) with its large student population. These students both part time and full time are always out walking around the popular shopping malls and looking around, With little effort, if time is at hand, its something I could recommend.

Venues to be recommended are the new huge malls in Jl. Dago and Jl. Chiampelas. I did not have the time to partake but a short visit I made to BIP mall in Jl, Dago confirmed for me that these girls are wandering around.

Mountain Walks
Bandung is surrounded by mountains and volcanic ones too. If you like fresh air and getting out for walks, Bandung is a great place to do this. The active volcano Tangkubang Perahu is a favourite with most visitors.

Anklong Orchestra
Bandung is the home of the bamboo made “anklong”, a native kind of xylophone which has superb melodic qualities of sound. You can visit Mang Udjo's workshop at the village of Padasuka around 7 km from Bandung. His "Angklungs" are well-known because of his fine workmanship and exact tuning of these bamboo musical instruments. You might be lucky to listen to his emsemble perform for you.

Golf
There are 4 golf courses in the area within a radius of 25 kilometres of the city and the favourite of those who play here is the Bandung Giri Gahana Golf Resort at Jatinagor Tel: 022 779 8401. Some of the caddies are pretty but, not all.

The course is quite friendly and not demanding, a nice outing for the day with the major challenge being putting as all the greens are undulating.

The almost in-town Dago course Tel: 022 250 2567 is reputably up and down on hilly terrain and that makes for a challenging day out for sure. According to locals, this is the second best golf course in Bandung area.

The other courses would include bandung Indah Golf & Country Club Tel: 022 541 3584and Golf Arcamanik Endah at Tel: 022 7272891.

Crazier, you RENTED a car and DROVE around Jakarta? You're CRAZIER than I thought!

Seriously, though, excellent pioneering work and write-up. I gather you went to Bandung mainly for the golf? And perhaps the adventure? Is this a place you'd recommend for a day or two in a longer Indo visit? And are there other places there that you plan to re-visit or explore and write up?

DM,

Thnks, yes she is cute! If I head this way tonight, I just might see her again.

HunterM,

Nah, not crazy, just been here often enough to know that it's no different from driving on the "wrong side" in your parts! Of course, they have different "rules of the road" here. So long as you abide by the rule - "big is right", you'll survive and perhaps, slow down a bit at the junctions.

The quality in the "outlets" are below the standards of "Penjay" and "Kota areas" but similar to Blok M choices.

If you hunt into the Sunda hinterland, and it will take more than one day, the gems you can find are SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.

Then, Bandung is for more than just "bonking our brains out!" Golf is only one option.

I love the place and I am about to finish breakfast at the Sparks and head out that way via Bogor Raya again NOW!

I hate golfing UNLESS you bring along a couple chicks in minis that you can molest in between holes (no pun intended!).

This last weekend, I managed to spend 2 more nights in Bandung, and have the following to add to my earlier report.

Massage Places

Checked out Ozone along Jl. Abdul Rahman Saleh at the Citysquare. On arrival, I asked the Reception to let me have a look at the premises which were nice but quite small when you compare with Jakarta Spas.

I have been advised that VIP rooms are still being renovated and not ready. In the locker room, I tipped the attendant 10k and had him list for me the best lookers and most popular therapists.

From the list, I chose his recommendation for the “best looker” and it was no 17, Widia and she turned out to be a cutie-pie aged 19 years, a girl from Cirebon. Apparently, she has been in the business for 6 months prior to Ozone and had worked in Citra, her first job since arriving in Bandung. Her massage was excellent, in terms of pressure and skills and at the ring of the telephone (end of my 90 minutes), I pushed her hand to my “johnny” and said “lanjut” (extend session) and she chuckled and gave me a reasonable happy finish which took another 20 minutes. Then, more shiatsu to finish off my extended session.

She also intimated that the masseuses of the place go out together to Caeser’s Palace Disco on Saturday nights in a group. I decided if if my hotdate for the date did not show up, I would try for her or another of her masseuse grop at the disco.

In addition to Roppongi Papa, theres the Milleniium Executive KTV and Bamboo Karaoke (at the Gumilang Hotel) both along Jl. Setiabudi.

This the lady from Bamboo Karaoke that had me extending my visit from one night to two. In my eyes, a pretty one.

Bandung Chic
The epicentre of “chic” dining and shopping in Bandung are along Jl. H R Juanda (aka as Jl. Dago and Jl. Chiampelas – Jl. Setiabudi with CiWalk as the latest place to be.

Dago Plaza where Ola La & other outlets, JL. H R Juanda

Gigantic Mall to be avoided on Saturdays
BSM, Bandung’s Supermall is to be avoided unless you are a victim of Branded Goods and products of which there are plenty here. If you must visit, avoid Friday and Saturday evenings when it appears the entire car population of Bandung is here.

Made a quick visit to Planet Disco 2001 and confirmed that this was one of the hottest freelance places for Fridays and Saturdays in Bandung. At about midnight, many girls were arriving in small groups.

Caeser’s Palace Niteclub has now added Disco to it’s format and I found that it was less crowded as compared with Planet 2001 Disco on Friday nights. However, it appears to be the other way round on Saturday nights with many girls saying naming it as their favourite Sat hangout.

Current In-Places in Bandung to see and be seen in addition to CiWalk are
Ola La – a simple but well located café in Jl. H R Juanda (Jl. Dago) in Dago Plaza next to Longhorn Restaurant, opposite to Pizzahut. Not a single table was available when I visited.

Fame Station
This small Disco “with an attitude” located off upper Jl. Setiabudi at 100 Jl. Sersan Barjuri No 100 at the Hotel Billique is the current “in-place” for those who “have”. The women you see here, mostly with their dates are snazzy and fashionable in the latest togs. Entry is 50k which entitles you to a drink (beer too) and, they have a great line up of DJs and a band that would be tops in Bandung. My hotdate who had never been there thought it was GREAT and did not want to go back to hotel while the band was playing.

Unlike other outlets in Bandung, this place pushes drinks with a furore and customers order bottles of alcohol like I have never seen in all of Indonesia.

Theres also a small adjoining intimate bar to the complex and some Karaoke facilities too but, no hostesses.

Small Hotels in the Jl. Setiabudi – Jl. Chiampelas area.
I will want to try out the cute and nice looking small hotels in this area in the next visit to Bandung. There are many to choose from and I have been told that all the hotel front office workers have their list of favourite call-girl numbers at hand. Quality may be an issue but if you are able to tell them what you want specifically, you will be reasonably happy.

Tiara Café
This small cute local-styled café and Karaoke just before you arrive in Lembang north of Bandung has many young cute waitresses. No, they are not hostesses and cannot be booked out. I decided not to stay as it was unlikely that I would charm any of them into my bed during my short weekend. Surely, possible in my opinion if you have some time & a few days at hand.

Street People
On Saturday nights, along Jl. H R Juanda and Chianpelas, you will find many students in groups wandering around and stopping cars. Some are “activists” collecting money for all sorts of causes e.g. “HIV – Aids help groups”, some selling flowers and other little knickknacks and others, playing musical instruments for a small fee. The major result is that traffic slows down to a crawl. I did see some cuties too!

Unless you have time at hand. Avoid these streets (if you are driving) on Saturday nights.

For my day-second night, I wanted to move to the Savoy Homan which in my opinion reflects Bandung in it's "colonial best" but it was FULL.

Many of the locals love to SHOP and/walk around Malls. The BSM (Bandung Super Mall) is gigantic and attracts huge crowds of haves and have-nots on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. Avoid it at all cost unless you want BRANDED PRODUCTS. Its a waste of time.

Better in the chic areas of Jl. H R Juanda and Chiampelas - Setiabudi.

I made a mistake to go take a look - it cost me all of 2 hours just to drive in and out in the traffic!

More on Golf
Dago Endah Golf Course
Having sampled Bandung Giri Gahana on the last visit, I decided that I wanted to check out the Dago Endah Golf Course, a municipal facility on the North Eastern end of Dago area. This is probably the most undulating and hilly of golf courses I have ever played and it proved to be highly challenging physically, as well as from the point of view of golfing accuracy. The course is tight and while buggies can be hired, if you choose to walk, be prepared to be totally exhausted at the end of your round. The greens are mostly undulating but reasonably true. Green fees are affordable and if you start after 2pm, a bargain as far as golfing is concerned. (Total of 187,000 Rps for 18 holes).

The physical challenge of carrying a golf bag and walking makes this course one of the few courses in Indonesia with an all-male caddy line up. I enjoyed the golfing challenge but hated the absence of a female caddy!

From the tee of Hole 6, a beautiful dog-leg right par 4.

Dago Pakar Golf Course
While looking for Dago Endah, I wandered into Dago Pakar having taken Jl. Dago to it’s northern end and turning south there to Jl.Lagangan. This beautiful course had just opened with 9 holes playable and I saw the young lady caddies under training. Some were very cute indeed. Will definitely play here on the next visit to Bandung.

Would love to see Banana's Siska girl photo'd from someone with a great camera because she is spectacular. Her face looks like she is half/half and her body nice. You lucky bastard.

Soc,

The games grows on you and it's less dangerous than mongering!

DM,

The great thing bout golfing in Indo is that you might actually be able to do that between holes too! Just have to pick the course and caddies right.

Blz., I'd love to see that body too, never got there yet! But, I just might! That's what keeps me coming back, the hard ones! If only my hands could see!

Pork, They've been laughin at me for 25 years!
Yet sometimes, I take their money! That's why they give us a "handicap" in this game.

C.
