well well well.. first of, I must thank all the monger pioneers who have shared their wealth of knowledge with us newbies, allowing us to learn from their sexperiences... Bwana's guide is the Rio bible (yet I'm a complete moron and it totally escaped my mind to print it out until I was already on the plane)... Jaguar's reports deserve a special mention as they are in a class of their own, they are every bit as amusing as they are informative (I havent laughed so hard since Calvin and Hobbs went off syndication)... Gringomanagement did a pretty decent job at providing a clean apartment (well, more like a studio but I was content with it) and answered all my questions/issues in a prompt professional manner (although I wouldnt suggest using the driver as his prices are outrageous, like dealing with the mafia)... Getting a local SIM card for your cell phone is considerably easier than I though (and well, if i can do it, a monkey on crack can do it) and you can even order them online to deliver in the US... I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of bunda available (everything from malnutrition ethiopian-looking babes, to Amazon-ish chick that could easily be in the Jets offensive line, to chicks that would the hottest babe in any high school, to Swedish-like models, to Nubian princesses)... As far as getting free bootie (i.e. spinster) I fully realize that it was a freakish accident that I stumbled into such a situation specially being a newbie and I know that in subsequent trips, I will not be able to duplicate such a sweet set up in a zillion years... But in no way will that deter me from further debauchery in Rio...

As I feel I have asshieved my Rio goals for my first trip: to 'know' (in the biblical sense) 10 unlucky ladies, and NOT get killed in the process; I am currently planning my next Rio fiasco with some loftier goals: to meet some of the mongering idols, to improve my portuguese, to give temporary employment to some hard-workers from Help and the beach, to get a real tan, and to do more things like the locals...

Consequently, to anybody who is considering a vacation where the biggest worry is which bundalicious babe you will pillage that night, then I would highly recommend Rio, the Utopia of the bunda...

Another comment that I overlooked in my previous post... I was thoroughly impressed by the great attitudes of mongers that I stumbled upon during my misadventures... not only were they extremely helpful, but for the most part these are men from all walks of life (from doctors, to soldiers, to farm boys and everything in between) and who are seemingly no different than any other tourists (well, other than our mightier pursuit for the bunda, of course)... having such a good vibe around certainly made my vacation much more memorable...

Standard answer to newbies - read the discuss threads and trip reports. Each hotel is different, and every garota is different.

What hotel are you staying in? Almost every hotel that's been discussed here has the garota policy clearly elaborated.

As to the percentage who do anal, out of 10-20 thousand GdPs working in Rio de Janeiro state at any given time, I and no one else on this board can give you a percentage that do anal, seeing as each garota will generally decide on her own if she does or doesn't depending on the guy, the day of the week, how many programs she's done, etc.

In the future, if you want help, introduce yourself, do some research and then ask questions. Don't be lazy, and don't be rude to the vets. I think I speak for a lot of the guys when I say that we're all more than a little tired of newbies who ask incredibly basic questions that have been answered fifty times already, of which the answers can be found within 30 seconds if you use the search features. Did you at least look up the name of your hotel to see if it's listed here?

Your friend sounds pretty stupid, so don't do what he does. My advice - contact Don and Ken at America Tours. You can pay for the week or per day, and those guys will show you around, get the lay of the land, etc. Basically, they'll take care of you and pretty much 100% ensure you will have a great time. You will certainly have a better time than if you "just wing it" like your friend recommends. What's his general plan, get to Rio and start roaming the streets looking for pussy? Good way to get yourself robbed, either by putas or by street thugs.

As far as those hotels, they are part of the Othon chain. I've never been in any of them, although I know the locations.

The Lancaster Othon is more or less in Lido, on Atlantica. The good thing about that location is there isn't any street crime and a busy yet shitty puta bar/restaurant, Balcany, is right next door. Lido is where the ripoff joints like Frank's and Barbarela are. However, it's not walking distance to the Help/Terraco Atlantico area, so you'll be taxiing everywhere you go.

The California Othon is right next to the Marriott, so the location is very good. Seven blocks to Help, four blocks to Luomo and the Siqueira Campos Metro stop, two blocks to Monte Carlo. I've never heard much about the California and the thread here is five years old. That should tell you all you need to know.

The Savoy Othon is a dump, read the thread on it, although not much recent info. Again, that tells you a lot.

If you mean the Rio Othon Palace is the fourth place, that is a very nice hotel and in a good location, a block from Help. Hooker Beach is right in front, however the hotel is very garota unfriendly and you can't take girls up.

Make sure to read the threads on all four of those hotels.

Get Bwana Dik's guide and read it very carefully. There's some info on GF hotels, and many other questions you might have will be addressed pretty thoroughly

troy, take cat's advice on don and ken. best money you will spend in rio. sky auctions cheap deals often don't end up so cheap with taxes and hidden charges. othons go from no girls to girls with high fees. savoy is most convienent to action but reportedly a dump unless you get a room on a high floor. research love motels. for barely little more than your hotels girl charge you can rent a jacuzzi suite for 6 to 8 hours. and the girl is not going to steal your laptop, etc. i stick to termas . pm me if you want to make a run .i arrive 6/13, be in 4x4 by 3:30.

This was an outstanding, and good-humored, commentary. It contained lots of information much needed for a newbie, like me, who will be visiting Rio for the first time in September.

I gather the following conclusions, and if they are wrong, please put me straight: At a termas the negotiated rate for a class A girl is about 200Reals, assuming you are a decent looking and acting guy, and assuming further that you don't show up at an awkward hour when they have dozens of bidders. By the way, I understand that termas are best visited early in the day, well before 6, and the discos at night. Acurate or misimpression? There is also the entry/service charge at the termas itself. What is that?

If you go to a disco and negotiate a deal with a garota, should you expect about the same pricing? I assume not, particularly if the garota is going to spend the night with you. And then, where do you go? Back to your hotel I suppose, which is why choice and location of hotel is important.

What of the same question as far as the beach girls are concerned?

I'm sure these are common questions, but as I am doing research, your answers will help me a lot.

Termas are not negotiated. There is an enterance fee(like a cover charge at a night club), a room fee, and a girl fee(all the girls make the same). 4x4 has a discount if you session before 5pm, which I think is the enterance fee. I don't know the latest fee rates but they vary greatly between cento and Copa, Terma to Terma, and basic room to presidently suite. Time of day is personal I think, I saw many hombres enter the Terma's within the last hour. I think they were all looking for someone to take home after work.

Your understanding of the disco is correct and applies to beach girls also. Again I don't know the latest fees on either of these, but you have the concept correct.
