The Camaro Z28. The interior materials are questionable, the doors feel like hollow soda cans, gas mileage is horrible, and Consumer Reports gives it a big dark black circle for reliability (much worse than average). The image of white trash seems to ooze from every crack and pore of it. Why would anyone want to buy such a car? The reason becomes apparent once you get behind the wheel and hit the accelerator. Even though there are obvious flaws with the Z28, its still a fun car at a price that most people can afford.

In much the same way, Angeles City is similar. It is the Z28 of mongering destinations. Although there are obvious flaws, you simply cannot beat it in the bang for the buck category. It can be as expensive, or as cheap, as you want to be. Hotel rooms go from 15 bucks all the way to 150 bucks a night. If you don’t pay for any lady drinks, food or other such excess matters, you can get away with screwing a woman all night for under 30 American dollars. You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner for under $6 (total) if you tried.

A destination, such as Rio, is a more balanced option where there are lots of other things to do besides sex. You can actually tell non-mongering individuals (friends, family, coworkers, etc) that you went to Rio without getting any funny looks. You can bring back pictures of real scenery besides all those stag photos and videos. However, how much is the actual price when you get there. Looking through the trip reports, the price appears to be negotiable but generally around 250R ($125 American dollars) for all night long at Club Help. So at nearly 4 times the price of the Angeles City option, are the women 4 times better looking or better in bed? Would you rather have 4 Angeles City women or just one Rio woman? What about the hotels? Can you stay at a decent place in Rio for under 30 bucks a night and is everything within a short walking distance? Can you eat 3 meals for 6 dollars each day?

So let me continue forward. . .

At 2pm, I parted ways with the nightshift duo. I then went to sleep because I was so tired from the night before. It is very easy to drink too much in this location and I do not recommend it at all. When you drink way too much, it impairs the quality of the mongering experience and will just intensify the jet lag sickness.

At around 4pm, I went out bar crawling and found this nice lady. She was very sweet and friendly, but it wasn’t a very memorable experience. In fact, I forgot the details already. I guess we had sex. Well, it doesn’t matter, she was like the band that comes on and warms up the crowd before the main event. You should never expect a dayshift worker to go over night. Many of these women have kids and took the dayshift so they could care for their children at night. So there was nothing negative to report here. In fact, you will see in just a minute why I didn’t remember so much of this woman. This woman is 23 years old:

After this one left around 9pm, I paged EDLOVER and we went out to another local place on Fields. I said before that I wasn’t going to describe the details of the escapades, but I will make one exception here. This was an absolutely mind blowing experience. She said to me that she had watched plenty of porn movies before she got to Angeles and I definitely believe her. She was constantly screaming “Fuck me” and we had sex all over the hotel room, on the couch, in the Jacuzzi, in the bed, on the floor, standing up in front of the mirror.

When we first entered the bar, I intended to hang out with Ed for at least 30 minutes having drinks, but then I saw this woman and there was no question in my mind as to what to do next. Within minutes, I had this woman barfined and back to the hotel room.

Now there was one problem that was totally my fault. We finished a quick 60 minute session up in the hotel room and she said to me that she gets even crazier when she is drunk. So I got her dressed and we went out on the town to the Blue Nile Executive club (upstairs). It didn’t seem like she drank that much, but remember, this woman is less than a 100 lbs. 3-4 drinks will do it for her. When she got back to the hotel room, there was some sex initially, but then she started throwing up and passed out. Ooops. I had tunnel vision and didn’t think about the effects of the alcohol. Well, I let her sleep it off, but it was time for another mind blowing session in the morning. I truly felt guilty only giving her 500 pesos as a tip, but I wanted to stay true to my word that I wasn’t going to tip anymore then that. I might try to go for another session tonight with this same woman. She said she did a threesome before, so I am considering just that. Well here are the pictures. It appears there is a major construction project going on right next to the Wild Orchid. Condos maybe? It will be interesting to see what happens to Angeles with world interest rates increasing. There was a lot of construction taking place during the low interest rate times from 2001-2005 with several renovations and new buildings placed up. Im not sure if its wise for the Wild Orchid owners to be constructing condos when we are in the midst of an environment of increased rates.

Increased interest rates effect us all in various ways. If the bar and hotel owners had taken out loans to build/renovate these buildings, then they will be paying higher interest rates. At the consumer level, most mongers will be paying more interest on their credit card debt. As well, there is another factor for investors who decide to go “all in” with Angeles City. There is a volcano that is in the background and that’s the very reason the United States decided to relocate from the Clark AirBase.

Some additional notes. There is a private money changer that is 2 store-fronts down from the RA which appears to provide a very competitive rate for exchange. The official exchange rate is 51.39 right now and the sign for the money changer is 51.1. If you exchange money at the RA hotel front desk, the rate is 48.95.

I visited ED over in the Swiss Chalet and this is a nice “bang for the buck” type hotel. Even though this hotel is adjacent to Santos St, all of the windows are double paned and you cannot hear any noise from the outside. That’s right! No trike noise, no singing, nothing. The interior is nicely decorated and some of the rooms are for under 30 dollars a night. All of the food items in the restaurant are for under 250 pesos. The only concern seems the mattresses and, honestly, they seem a bit on the slim side. Otherwise, this should be a good value for most and its located in a great spot where you can just walk to the Fields Avenue bars.

If anyone from the Royal Amsterdam is reading this, as I suspect you are, I just have a few issues. The curtains need to be made of a thicker material that will block the light out better. As well, you might want to take a look at the Swiss Chalet and how they have managed to block out all the noise using double paned windows.

Im not sure what the plan is next. Will I ever get past Fields Avenue and out of this hotel? Should I start sight seeing and go on some type of tour?

Love the Z28 analogy. I'd like to add that you're not buying these cars/countries/girls. I wouldn't buy a Z28, but I'd sure as hell rent one and gun it to the point of orgasm!

I seem to be noticing a theme here with the calf tattoo thing. I didn't notice many girls in AC with that sort of tattoo. Is that something that really catches your eye, or just coincidence? As for me - skirts do the trick. Oh yeah.

When I was there in Dec/Jan, the condos next to the Wild Orchid were well on their way to being sold out, interest hikes or no....Did you check into the state of the sales? or the prices?

It doesnt make any sense to me why anyone would want to purchase any property within Angeles City. There are some very *obvious* reasons why it would *not* be a good idea to purchase these condos. Even if the condos are well built with excellent amenities, this area is not one in which you want to get involved with on any level.

I could write an essay of many pages behind my reasoning as to why this isnt a good idea. This locations *only* saving grace is getting laid on the cheap.

I have to agree. I've only been to AC once but it seems like a place you'd want to be able to leave in a hurry if you had to.

I'm pretty sure those condos will be bought up by Filipinos with money and then rented out to tourists, probably European mongers with more euros than taste. For that matter, they may already be owned by the builder, who may be planning to rent them directly. That is quite common in the PI.

IE, this rolling trip report is really great. I love the style and the content.

One minor clarification though. The volcano that a couple of people have posted pics of (the one you can see from almost anywhere in AC) is Mt. Arayat, a small and long since extinct volcano. The one that devastated Luzon in 1991 and forced the closure of Clark Air Base was Mt. Pinatubo. The eruption completely shattered the mountain and it is no longer visible among the other distant mountains, as it is quite far from AC. Pinatubo is now a fraction of its former size, and AC is not in any danger of volcanic eruptions.
