Prologue:

These entries begin before the actual start of my physical journey in order to more completely document my mental journey.

I have always held an interest in going to South America to satisfy my curiosity about the talents and comeliness of the women there. From all accounts they score high in both areas. I know from limited personal exposure that the can turn out quite lovely. At the beginning of my original journey I had to make a choice between Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore) or in South America (Brazil, Colombia, Argentina). I settled on Asia (Thailand and the Philippines) for two major reasons - 1) cost and 2) availability of information. In 1998 there was economies of Asia were suffering and the US Dollar was strong against the local currencies. This made a trip to an Asian country very affordable. Furthermore, as I did research I was about to locate a much larger volume of information on the activities in Thailand and the Philippines than on the activities in South America. There were also frequent visitors to Asia and Expats in Asia who were more than willing to show a newbie around. I didn't find such things forthcoming from South America at the time. I stuck with Asia after my first trip because it was very FUN and much more economical than going to South America, both in and out of the scene. In January 2002 things changed - I located a source of information on South America that was comparable to the sources that I initially had on SEA, with the bonus of there being people willing to show a newbie around. Couple that with the drastic devaluation of the Argentine Peso and I was set to go on a trip to Argentina. The only problem was that I had already scheduled vacation time in the Philippines so I would have to wait a while before I could travel to SA. The target date ended up being - Labor Day Weekend 2002. While doing more research on Argentina I was convinced by my findings that I should also make the trip to Brazil. So, a plan was put in place to spend 5 nights in Buenos Aires and another 5 nights in Rio de Janeiro.

As the trip date approached the benefits of going became less and less clear in my mind. I began to read more and more reports about the declining quality (appearance wise) of the girls in Rio and the hardening and increasing price of girls in Buenos Aires. It also became clear to me through reading the board and discussions with UWphoto and GodFather that SA is ShortTime central. I guess for many that would not be much of a concern and in fact might be seen as a benefit. However, my personality is more that of LongTime. I like to sleep (actually sleep) with a girl. Another fact that came to light that I still haven't come to complete grips with even as I write this sitting in the Miami International Airport waiting for my flight to re-board for the final leg to Buenos Aires. That fact is that action in Buenos Aires is confined to the hours between roughly 22:00 and 06:00 unless one deals with escorts. The glaring exception to this is the availability of girls in "cafes", but by all accounts these places are very hit and miss. This situation is much different to that in the Philippines or in Thailand, where one can find girls anytime of day or night with relative ease. Ok, maybe one can?t find girls at ANY time of day or night but the hours that one CAN find them with relative ease is more like 17:00 to 06:00.
