We were up by 5AM as I had to meet everyone else downstairs at 5:30 so we could catch a cab to the airport. J-Lo was a sweetheart and mixed my cup of coffee for me as Mali Mike and I waited for Soc69 and his friend to arrive. She obviously wasn’t going to leave before I asked her to, so I offered to walk her out to a cab. Well there weren’t any around and I had to get back inside and checkout so I wouldn’t hold up the group so I just wished her well etc. and said thanks. I felt like a jerk for making the longtime a short time and essentially making this girl roam the streets of Bangkok looking for a cab this early in the morning. The Thai girls have a way of making me feel bad about the way you left them and the only way to overcome it is to go find another one.

Luckily, us men found a cab for ourselves, we piled in and got to the airport and were let out at the wrong terminal. Our flight boarded late, left late, cementing Air Asia’s reputation for non-punctuality, but otherwise it was a good short flight. Immigration was a snap except Socrates’ friend didn’t have a passport sized photo for the visa. They ended up Xeroxing the photo from his passport for a dollar.

MaliMike and I got to Café California 2 well before check in time and we were just exhausted waiting for the rooms to be ready. The friendly female staff helped cheer our grumpy asses up and my room was ready first. I went up to it and crashed.

When I woke up I showered and went to the bar and made use of the free coffee. I have to say you really can’t go wrong with this hotel, at $17/night with free coffee and breakfast. Just throw your laundry in the hamper and it’s done for you daily. Another benefit is the back up generator. PP is always having black outs, in fact there were 2 during my 5 day stay.

CafCal1

Mali Mike and I got ourselves moto drivers for $10 for the night. People may get them for cheaper, but I don’t mind paying for a little loyalty because PP has a well deserved reputation for crime and while most of the moto drivers are safe to hire you want one you know is to be waiting for you.

We hit up Sharky’s, Walkabout and Shanghai before heading out into the darkness of PP to Martini’s. For those who haven’t been there PP is extremely dark at night as there are virtually no streetlights. Virtually no traffic lights either. The only lighting was the odd fluorescent light bulb above a closed storefront. I could see stars in the sky as I was riding down the city blocks. It was very surreal, almost spooky, but much more fun than say taking a cab in Bangkok.

Martini’s was so so this particular evening and a mamasan kept parading different girls to our table which was a little annoying. Plus you have to wonder about the girls’ age if they’re not coming up to you on their own. In the disco MaliMike found his girl but I wasn’t ready to pack it in yet so I went back to Walkabout.

There I ran into Jim, the owner of Café California 2 and he bought me a beer and introduced me to some PP locals and a frequent visitor. After a beer or two a fight broke out.

Actually it was two Khmer men beating a barang. They were security guards. They actually had knocked him down and punched him while he was on his back a few times. They stood him up and the trio started to stumble towards our table. I got ready to stand up and move, push the mob the other way or whatever it took, when, they changed direction and headed for the entrance. Down he went again and by now there were people blocking my view. A few seconds later I could see him standing in the street collecting himself.

Well I’ve heard of more violent altercations happening in this city and by the end of the trip would see the aftermath of one, but more on that later.

After a few more rounds I starting eyeing a Vietnamese cutie named Annie and she suggested that I and her Khmer friend Sukkai go back to my place (all name spellings are approximate in this report). So I hired out a second moto driver for the extra girl and headed back to the café. Being drunk and what not my sex waited until the morning, with Annie while Sukkai was asleep next to us. I shouldn’t have bothered taking Sukkai as we did zero. Sad but true. Live and learn. But it reminded me of the titillation of being in college and nailing my girlfriend while her roommate was close by.

Well since I have a month to cover I'll have to sign off here and do this day by day. It's a bitch trying to recall the details.

Day 2

I waited a few minutes after the girls to left before I went downstairs to partake in the free breakfast. MaliMike came down eventually and we went out to surf the net a bit. Socrates69 and his friend came by for a briefing of sorts and we arranged to go out that night.

MaliMike and I followed Socrates’ car to the Khmer kitchen. This was a good place, in an outdoor garden setting. We had one the combination meals, plenty to go around and not to expensive.

Next we went Rose bar. This is a more upscale hostess bar with some real hotties inside. Socrates ended up taking home a girl from there. MaliMike and I went to Sophie’s next. This is a downscale blowjob bar.

Inside was a good collection of BJ providers. What I like about this bar is the samples. I had four girls give me a test drive and took the best one whose name I can’t remember. I tipped the other girls a dollar each. The room is pretty grimy but the service was quite good. It was so good I went back to the hotel afterwards to get some much needed sleep.

Day 3 – Sheer terror and Stalking

This day turned out to be one of the more interesting days of the trip. Socrates came by with his friend and their driver and invited me to go to the movies with his girl from the night before. On the way there her girlfriend joined us to accompany Socrates’ friend. I thought she was pretty hot but they thought she was on the tall side.

We went to the central mall in town, bought our tickets and I snapped a few pics from the fifth floor balcony.

PP1 PP2

This mall is a bit of a contrast to the rest of PP. It looks fairly new and has a Pizza Company inside. We all shared appetizers while we were waiting for the movie to start. Socrates’ girl asked me if I wanted to meet a friend of hers. I thought if she looked as good as her other girlfriend, I’m in there.

Well it wasn’t to be. The movie was some god awful Khmer film with plenty of ghosts and violence. About halfway through it my date shows up and Socrates and I looked at each other horrified. No it wasn’t the film that was scaring us. This girl was a 3 at best. Heavy set, smelled bad everything. I was doing my best to be a gentleman through it, but I knew there wasn’t a chance in hell she was hanging around with me that afternoon and night.

At one point there was a scene in the movie where some guy got disemboweled. This was too much for my date and she turned and threw up. After the film Socrates and his friend were trying to locate their driver and I was desperate to leave so as not to make this girl think we were an item. I said that I had to meet MaliMike and asked them if they would be kind enough to drop this girl back off. We arranged to meet at Walkabout later that night.

I jumped on a moto on got out of there. Later MaliMike and I met up with Socrates and his friend at Walkabout. Upstairs I spotted a cute Vietnamese girl wearing a nice dress and talked to her a little. Her name is Wee. After a few drinks Socrates’ friend headed off and Socrates went to get his girl. We agreed to rendezvous at Martini’s. Socrates, his girl, MaliMike and I were having drinks at a table and I was looking at who would be nice to go home with.

The decision was pretty easy when Wee came up to me. I wasn’t even there 15 minutes, so I think she might have followed me there. I asked and she said she did. I have a theory as to why that happened that I’ll go into later.

Well this one left a little early in the morning which is fine by me. She wasn’t the best performer in the world and I’d probably only take her again as part of a trio.

Day 4

MaliMike and I went to the Russian market to look for DVDs and software. I actually like this place better for DVDs than Pantip and MBK. Sure you can anything you want in those two places but it takes more shopping around to find what you want and half the DVDs are garbage. Almost all the DVDs in the Russian market are DVD 9s and not a handycam in the theater job. They also have lots of TV series. You want every Family Guy episode? They got em all together. The Monty Python Flying Circus series? All in one set. Seinfeld too. Software will have a jillion programs on the disc for $2. I got Paint Shop Pro 9 and whatever else was on the disc. The best part is the vendors are all in the same corner of this primitive market so it’s real convenient. Winding through this place is insane. You can get great deals on cheap clothes and they even have a food court inside.

russian1 russian2
russian3

MaliMike decided to take the night off but I rolled out to Sharky’s which has to be the best bar in PP. I started talking to a Khmer girl named Aom. I was ready to get laid but didn’t know if I wanted to keep her all night so I made sure she agreed to ST $10. The session was quite good as I remember, but I still thought I could snag another session as it was still early.

The bad part is she asked for $20. I told her we agreed to $10 and she said $15 was ok. It wasn’t ok for me and I dreaded this situation. I had a $10 bill and $20s, once the 20 came out she’d probably want the whole thing. I calmly tried to remind her that she agreed to $10 and I didn’t appreciate her trying to hold me up for more. The idea was to tell her she’s the bad guy here. I was just waiting for this to get ugly and I almost caved in to avoid that but I actually started raising my voice and she got nervous and said “Shhh.” Once that happened I said I want you to leave, gave her $10 and opened the door. I was worried she might do something downstairs, I mean there was a lot of stuff down there she could have damaged including motorcycles that were brought in for the night. Fortunately none of that happened. No more short times for me I decided.

I waited 15 minutes or so before I left again and my moto driver suggested we go to Heart of Darkness. We got there and he thought he should go in and I agreed. Lots of Khmer men go to this club and there’s been reports of the occasional shooting. I bought my driver a beer; I had a redbull and started to talk to this little cutie next to me. I thought her friend was hot too, but this girl, Annie was right there, it was crowded as hell and not so easy to walk away to browse the different cuts of meat.

After some dancing on the packed floor we sat down at a table where a group of Khmers was sitting and eventually a Khmer guy tapped me on the shoulder pointed to my seat and said “I sit there.” Now here’s where Westerners get in trouble. In the States most people would have been a smart ass and said something like “I don’t see your name on it” and would have suffered dirty looks all night. In Cambodia in this club you could get shot pretty easily. I’m not ending my life over a chair, I got up he said “akun” and sat down.

Next stop was a place called Tropical club according to Annie and my driver but the sign said Manhattan café.

manhattan

After checking my camera at the door we wandered around in here and it reminded me of XZyte disco in Pattaya only no one was performing on stage. There were groups of Khmers standing around the tables being served beer which was in buckets of ice. Techno was playing and there were hotties everywhere. My Heineken and her Coke cost $9! I think I was had. This place was located somewhere north of Wat Phnom but I wouldn’t go there looking for chicks. It’s a strictly Khmer joint, so if you do go you’d be best advised to bring your own company.

Annie turned out to be an adorable little spinner and I hope I see her on a future trip.

I had to go to Cambodia this past February and I did not feel very comfortable. I was looking for someone I didnt find and spent most of my time on the river or russian market local stuff.

No way in hell was I gonna go to places there where they obviously are pushing people not old enough. I mean you may go there for a 30 year old but I dont feel comfprtable around illegal shit. Usually I dont worry about my safety or freedom but Cambodia for me just felt wrong and I was not going to go close to anything I was not 100% sure about.

The whole dark think everywhere and stuff doesnt help either. Glad you had a good time. PLenty of legal people there and that is what hombre is for. Legal and above board stuff. Problem is its all over in Cambodia.

By Bigpoppa on Friday, August 18, 2006 - 01:28 pm:  Edit

The lack of so many things we take for granted in the West is such a huge culture shock that we become uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable feels bad so the place must be bad.

Believe me beneath the veneer of wealth in the West lies all the same negatives that can't be hidden in Cambodia as well.

I've been to Cambo twice now the second time with a friend and that made a huge difference in the enjoyment level. Sorry to hear your trip didn't work out so well

By Don Marco on Saturday, August 19, 2006 - 08:47 am:  Edit

Poppa-- good job and your right, one has to adjust or be willing to adjust to the unique sights, sounds, and flavors of cambo for full enjoyment. It took me all of 2 days to adjust and I had a great time as well.

great report and nice to meet you and MaliMike. The theatre incident was awful. That was hands down the most horrible movie i've ever seen. Moreover that blind date was the most hellish i've ever witnessed. you took the whole situation VERY well! lol.

that said, the event made for one great story and priceless memories. :-)

socrates nice to hear from you. Yeah that movie was a scary experience, but pretty funny.

Same here, it was great meeting you and your friend. Hoepfully we'll cross paths again.

Day 5

MaliMike and I headed out to Tuol Sleng, the high school that the Khmer Rouge used as a prison for tens of thousands of people. I have two thoughts about this place. You may not want to see it on your first trip to Cambodia at all. It could cast a depressing shadow over your stay. But you should see it eventually to remind yourself that “regime changes” don’t usually go as planned and often organizations like this end up taking the true control of the land.

I declined to go to the killing fields to see entire skeletons in the ground. I prefer to experience a country as it is today. Some day I’ll see the killing fields, but Tuol Sleng was enough for me on this trip.

The details are getting fuzzy but I ended up coming home with a girl from Sharky’s names Srimou. Not the best looker, but I liked her plump ass and she was touchy feely which does it for me.

Photos: Srimou 12 13 14 15

Last day

Srimou was pretty determined to go shopping for a pair of pants and I admit I caved in. Off we go to the Russian market but she can’t find anything she likes. I asked my driver to take us to the mall where we saw the movie. I thought it would be more expensive but I really wanted to get the purchase made so I could get some daytime action. To my relief my driver said she wanted to go to the central market, which is even cheaper for clothes than the Russian market. Eventually she got the pair of pants that she’s wearing in the pics for $10, which I’m sure was too much. But I had her reciprocate back at the hotel. Then I asked her to go and made no promises about seeing her that night.

That night MaliMike and I went out to Sharky’s and I started eyeing this cute Vietnamese spinner with pretty big tits. Of course Srimou shows up and hugs me from behind. She tried to sit at our table and we got up to play pool. After every shot I had one girl or the other tug on me. I finally told Big Tits to meet me at Walkabout at midnight so there would be no face loss.

Well at Walkabout MaliMike and I ran into a guy we’d been seeing at the bars and we all had drinks. He instantly knew who I was talking about when I described Big Tits, which is what he called her. MaliMike left with a girl I think and I hung out. A local former US Marine came in and shared a lot of good stories with us.

In and amongst these stories I learned why the guy from the first night was beat up by the security guards. Apparently this guy brought an underage girl with him out for a drink. The security guards told him to leave and he wouldn’t. Well that’s what he thought, he left alright.

What I like about Walkabout is this is where all the FLs come to regardless of what bar they normally hang out in. This is especially true after the other bars and discos close since it’s open 24/7. Annie from Heart of Darkness came in and looked happy to see me. Before she left she told me that she was going to go back to Heart of Darkness for an hour and then go home. Well I was holding out for Big Tits a little longer and the Walkabout selection was looking pretty good that night.

Not long after a girl came in and told the guy I was talking to that someone was stabbed. We looked past the outside tables and up the block and sure enough I saw a guy on his back with one leg bent at the knee. A crowd of Khmers was forming around him and someone was illuminating the scene with a moto headlight. No one was attending to him and it’s common knowledge to stay out of situations like that if you’re a foreigner. It sounds bad, but when the guy probably dies, you the foreigner could face an angry mob who feels that you killed him. What made it seem worse was at least in Thailand you could call the tourist police if there was a situation like that.

I don’t know if Cambodia has an EMS but I’m guessing not because after about a half hour he was still there. A few people from the bar ventured over to take a look. The guy I was talking to and I decided to have a look as well. By the time we got there the crowd was dispersing, the victim had been transported away on a moto.

Back in the bar the former Marine was speculating that the victim was alive because there wasn’t enough blood loss. My moto driver thought differently on the way back to the hotel though. So I may or may not have seen someone die on the street that night. I’ll probably never know.

Well Big Tits never did show up and I had my eye on this girl Nita. Love the boots.

Closing Thoughts

I really enjoyed Cambodia on this my second trip. I enjoyed PP more so the second time around. On my first trip I was bored during the day. I was traveling alone and there’s really no daytime entertainment like there is in Bangkok where you can shop for the latest high tech gadgets, see Western movies etc.

But being in PP with a buddy and relaxing into the slow pace of PP, doing a little sight seeing, witnessing the Khmers getting by in life, drinking 75 cent beers, eating pizza that’s as good as it is in New York, and not being in a hurry to do anything is what Cambodia is all about. The women are just dessert.

"eating pizza that’s as good as it is in New York"

OK, I may of loved love cambo, but this is TOO much of a strech! In no way shape or form does any pizza in cambo compare with NYC pies ;)

By Bigpoppa on Sunday, August 20, 2006 - 07:59 am:  Edit

I actually think Cambodia pizza can compare. It's baked in a pizza oven not run across conveyor belt and the crust is crisp not doughey like the shit you get from Pizza Slut and Papa Johns's. BTW, Pizza Company and Domino's suck too.

Other good food items in Cambo, the baguettes. As good as Paris.

By Don Marco on Sunday, August 20, 2006 - 09:31 am:  Edit

BP,

With all due respect, pizza hut, pizza comp, pappa johns, and dominos is not NY pizza-- far from it. Let me ask you this-- where do you buy pizza in NYC? If you think it compares, you need to find some new haunts :-)!

I made the mistake of going to the killing fields and Man oh Man. If you can go there and not shed a tear you have a heart of stone. You really have to feel sorry for those people. Our enemies in vietnam saved them. Amazing. Shows that all is not black and white.

I still had an ok time. Casino is nice there and the food was good.

DM

I guess I need to clarify lol! I wasn't comparing the chains to a family run pizzeria at all. I think the pizzeria's in Cambodia make some pretty good freshly baked pizza that's almost as good as NY pizza.

But, I haven't lived in NY for years. Maybe I enjoyed it because I'm forced to eat the chain pizza crap everywhere else.

Ahora

You didn't make a mistake. I applaud you for taking a look at what war is. It sure ain't paintball. I wish all the FOX news watching arm chair warriors would see this stuff up close and personal and see how "awesome" war really is.

OK, after being mentioned in the posts I guess I should at least say hey. BP does a much better job on these than I will ever do. I am working on a Prague report from the 4th of July, hope to get that up soon. I have been to SEA about 8 times now. This was my first trip to Cambodia, and I have to say I shall return. I liked the primitive feel. It just seemed so laid back to me. I would come downstairs in the morning, have my b-fast, drink the free coffee, and read a book outside. Eventually the kids selling books even stopped bugging me. Overall a great trip. It was good to me Socrates and his friend. Learned a lot. I have pics, will try to post them eventually. Keep up the good work BP.

I thought Cambo pizza had it's own secret ingredient. Perhaps that's why it tasted so good ?

Nita is yet another great selection. I may even change my mind about Cambodia and actually go one day - but I doubt it.

Cambo pizza can have a secret ingredient but I don't like that particular spice.

Yeah Nita had an interesting look to her. One day could leave you a little disappointed if it's a low talent night. Better to do at least 3.

I did not mean I would go for only one day but that one day I Might go. hehe

I never go anywhere for one day. I have more inertia than Jabba the Hut !If I go I'm there for a while. I have trouble draggin my ass from BKK to Pattaya. Travel has the effect of making my trip even shorter than it really is . I friggin hate that. I know it's all psychological , but my psyche is my reality. I work way too hard in between my rare trips to make them feel shorter than they are.

the girl behind Sukai-Annie...is that the Mamasan, or was that her friend? either way, I'd rather do the Mamasan! She looks hot.

Also, the woman behind the counter at the market...did you ask her if she goes upstairs for the right price?

Nice pics, BTW.

Well I normally don't read reports from SEA, I have no idea why I read this one. I have 2 comments, you are a fucking idiot to go anywhere where the locals will shoot you over a chair! All you lightweights know nothing about pizza. Real za starts at 4 pounds a pie and get bigger.

Well bad4urheart she had a pretty nice body but as you can tell she wasn't big breasted. I think her eyes and her style make her attractive.

Bluelight - Actually you showed us what an ignoramus you are when it comes to causing Asians to lose face. If you're sophisticated enough to deal with these situations you can enjoy all the fun there is in Asia and not have a problem. You're the exact type of person I was referring to in my FR. The dumbass who would get shot.

Well so much for making friends here who could otherwise show your fat pizza ass the ropes in SEA, THE place to be on this planet for mongering. Well done jerkoff
