I got to spend a nice August stretch in Jakarta, my favorite Mongering place. In this report I am going to forgo a time linear report and just give some updates on previously reported places and report on some new finds. Then I will present a chapter, at the suggestion of Merlin, listing some of the eating places I have found where you can nourish yourself between sessions.

Thaaaannkkkk You for acting on this MX. Next to stunning poontang, an excellent meal is a must for me on a trip. This 3rd trip was particularly memorable for all the excellent food places MX introduced me to. I was pleasantly surprised at the numer of inexpensive and excellent food venues around JKT, if you know where to go. It would've taken me years for me to figure something like that out myself and I would have been spending an arm and a leg at Imperial Chef all the time.

LOL Merlin, I am working on it and should have it up in a day or two. Imperial Chef has damn good food but the prices are totally out of control there. Jakarta is actualy a good food town but there separating the wheat from the chaff.

There was an imperial chef restaurant in SUB that did really well, less expensive than the one in JKT. These chains are open all night. I still like the food at these chains as the food there is really superb, not a bad deal by U.S. standards but I have to keep reminding myself that a dinner for two averages about $20-$30 bucks --- more than 3x the norm in Jakarta.

I hope you recap some of the great buffets as well.

Yeah a restaurant guide would be great.

i think my pal zippy was telling me that the hotel buffet at park lane is out of this world.

Also, on a taxi ride once where the taxi driver took a detour from kota to central jkt, i notice what looked to be a bunch of pujaseras on one street. i was intent on looking it up, but got distracted once i was in town. I'll try to look it up in my notes and post it here.

Yeah Zippy took me to the buffet at Park Lane Hotel, thenI took Zippy to the buffet at JW Marriot. The Park Lane was never mentioned again. That JW Marriot buffet is incredible and is absolutely worth the 20 bucks you are going drop on it.
