Found myself doing a QA (Quality Assurance) audit of our station and personnel in SGN.. Flew in on our HKG-SGN section and spent the night at the Novotel..
Arrival in SGN or TSN (Tan Son Naht as the locals call it) is pretty straight forward... Facilities are clearly not that of a SIN or HKG, but it's alot better than many would think are available..
Clear Immigration first (visa inspection) and bag reclaim.. Customs is done by x-ray as all bags (cabing bags as well) are run thru an x-ray machine and questions asked by Customs as ncessary..
Arrivals hall is very basic with a few toursit shops, tour desks, hotel desks and the like.. Currency exchange as well..
Outside the air is still very hot depsite the fact that it's well past 22:00.. There must be at least 500+ people waiting ourside for the 180 passengers we carried that evening.. It appears that coming to the airport can be a "family" experience..
A VND 15K cab ride (or about US$1) from the airport and all of five minutes..
I arrive at the Novotel (an Accor Hotel) and it's very nice by all standards.. Nice lobby and first rate rooms and bedding.. My rate (a prenegotiated airline rate of $33 + VAT/IVA)
I call the front desk about the availability of a massage this evening and am told that the health club has them on staff and closes at 23:59..
I make my way down to the health club and find a very nice club-like place.. Steam room, pool, etc.. All the trappings of a basic, but good, hotel fitness club..
I ask for a body massage and am told it's US$15 for the hour.. I'm given a robe and told to change and wait in my cabana..
My masseuse arrives.. She's no more than 25 (at best) long black hair, a spinner if ever there was one. We exchange introductions and she beings the rubdown..
In the course of the next hour, I get one of, if not the best rub downs I've ever had..
At the end.. My girl drops the hint that was thinking about... She asks if I am alone tonight.. I reply that I am... I ask her if she's alone tonight... She laughs and says that she can arrange to see me after work.. I tell her my room number ... She say's that I'll have to talk to the security staff so that she'll be allowed to get up the evelators..
I say please come up when you're off.. I shower and dress and make my way back to the front desk.. I find the security manager (who is basically a 20ish kid with a radio).. I tell him that a very important "friend" is coming and that SHE should be allowed upstairs.. I thank him and pass him a US$5 tip... He smile and thanks me..
I go back upstairs and relax until the knock arrives at literally 00:05.. It's my girl..
She's dressed in classic Vietnamese dress.. long flowing a side slit that kills me every time..
We negotiate for an LT session at US$50.. While I know that this is Vietnam and not BKK or MNL/CRK I'm still paying more than I really should but if her service is anything like her massage it'll be a great buy..
The next morning I know that I'm right.. It was a great session...
I leave SGN knowing that there's some talent there that deserves further exploration.. for the next trip..

Great report, thanks.
Question: I don't know what all the initials stand for. what city and country did this occur?

HCMC = Ho Chi Minh City
SGN = Airport code based upon the former name of this city, Saigon.

Nice, concise, no frills report. Good work Gopbi. I understand the logistics of finding talent in Viet Nam can be challenging, so the hotel massage route was probably the way to go, especially given your time constraint. What the hell are a couple extra bucks anyway!

Good stuff my friend. I was in Saigon, Vietnam this pass summer trying to court some good girls. You have Vietnam figured out when it comes to the scene. It is looowwww keeeyyy but there.
$50 isnt bad when compared to today's Thai prices.
Never compare Khmer Viets to Viet Viets because they are from two worlds. It is like comparing East German women to West German ladies.

Gossip disco is pretty good for working girls. The music is loud but you have to be real patient because there are tons of normal girls just having a good time. Wait for a smile and then pounce. It is right around Pham Ngu Lau.
The 'Catwalk' in New World Hotel and the 23rd floor of the Sheraton are pretty good places for hot asses. Take it easy because it aint Pattaya.
The prices will range from $50-$100.
Ive heard of Amara but I havent visited.
With regards to hotels being a pain in the ass, befriend your doorman with a $5 handshake and be clear about your intentions. In fact, my friend did it at the Sheraton.
My favorite hotel is Giant Dragon which is on Pham Ngu Lao and runs $20 for a standard room. NO PROBLEMS with the ladies as well.
The hostess bars on Hai Ba Trung Street is another option. You have a beer and they sit and chat with you. Get her number for an encounter after work. They are open at night. There are about four to five of them on Hai Ba Trung.
This will happen to you if you are strolling around at night. A girl on scooter will approach for some nookie. Ive done this only once and had no problems. However, I speak some Vietnamese and took her back to my hotel.
Remember. Vietnam isnt Thailand or the Philippines where it so in your face.
Chill, relax, and if you choose, get laid...

Small--
You're absolutely right... There are many spinners here and many more will go with you (for ST or lT) as you like.. Of course the cost is low.. Not quite AC prices but still very reasonable..
However as you note.. It's NOT a Pattaya or Angeles City or even a Rio.. There is a "scene" here, but it's quite and a bit hidden.. You can find it if you like, but discretion is the key to success here..
I know the ONLY reson my girl could get to my room is because I talked with the security guy before hand.. This is not a Thailand where a simple ID card at the front desk will work..

SAD-You caught the essence perfectly. See what I meant in my short report about HCMC? Looks rather prosperous eh? Capitalism is alive and well.......
Too bad the scene is so hidden.
