Arriving in Jakarta, I had just arrived after being on a plane for 18 hours and a 3 hour layover and absolutely no sleep after leaving at 1am from LAX. Eva seems to be a popular airline for Vietnamese these days and they love to bring their infants on board for this long flight to Tapei and they love to scream and cry for at least 10 hours. Anyways, MongerX saw it that I should start in the Penjay area. We went into LA Bar, MTR Bar(I think) but ultimately ended up in Sari Ayu. This bar ended up being one of my favorites. The mamasans were not as pushy as the other places and got the hint when you wanted to make your own decision.

The bar is much different than I expected for Indonesia. You go into a bar in the early afternoon and find a bar that is absolutely hopping like it was a night time disco. You will find a semi-circular bar in the middle. Booths on the left hand side of the wall and right hand side. Many of the girls sit on some of the stools with small tables in the back near the cashier and in front of the bar. There is also a side room with more lighting and some raised booths. All the way in the back left is a cashier and to the back right is a small gathering area. To the right of the cashier is a stairway to the girls locker rooms and further up the short time rooms.

The bar has several nice flat screen televisions around and the bar is blasting mostly crappy techno. Its not a large bar but they pack the girls in. I didnt see one chubby girl in the place and maybe one girl over 20. Not all of the girls are hot but most are in at least the 7.5 range. I saw about 10-12 girls that I wanted to fuck on my first trip there. The girls wear way too much of the white paste on their face but thats typical SEAsia self loathing of brown skin. The atmosphere is extremely dark and loaded with locals only. The locals dont bother you except for their chain smoking of kreteks(clove cigarettes).

One thing that I just disliked was that the mamasans would constantly grab girls to sit with you or just plop them down next to you in the booth. These girls are used to the system but it's damn hard to send the girls on their way. Even guys with solid black hearts would have problems with this. You can see the girl looks disappointed or even embarrassed that you rejected her and sometimes you have to reject 10 girls in a 10 minute span. The mamasans can be relentless about it and are not friendly to picky guys like myself. I think the notion that the girls dont get bothered by getting rejected is wishful thinking and denial. I'm sure they get accustomed to the point and pay locals but I just cant help to feel bad for the girls like cattle being dragged into auction. The additional problem is that bule's(Americans/Brits, etc) are known for liking the ugliest and fattest girls so the mamasans always drag the lower grade girls that nobody wants even after describing to her that you want hot spinners. Luckily, at Sari Ayu the mamasans were really not that bad in comparison to other places and would leave you alone if you asked.

The system is that you pay the cashier for either the standard or VIP room. Always choose standard. I believe I paid 245,000 Rp($25) but others can correct me on this. Follow the girl up the stairs and they will stop at their locker to get their stuff. It is there that you will get a chance to see some of the other hot girls in the light that havent arrived yet or just finished a short time. The rooms are TJ style rooms but the beds are not so great. You take a shower and the girl will scrub you from head to toe, paying particular attention to your balls, dick and pernium. The girl will use the detachable shower head to give a full douche to her pussy before and after the session. These girls are impeccably clean. The men smell like dirty Arabs sometimes but the girls always have clean pussies.

I picked a girl whom I thought was very hot right away and hung out with her a bit by drinking some Bintang beer. The beer here is brought in a large bottle only and warm with a glass of ice. This was one of my pet peeves with some of the bars..warm fucking beer. Beer never taste great over ice but when in Rome.... On a tactical note for dealing with the mamasan system, I have two suggestions. First, ff you are in the mood to hook up with a girl right away, then absolutely do not let the mamasan sit the girl down next to you. If she clearly is not what you are looking forward, just say "tida mau" (don't want) and make the hand gesture where you raise your hand shoulder height and palm forward. Then twist you wrist back and forth. This is like shaking your head no in the west. Most of the the mamasans are idiots. As for mamasans, I also use MX's methods and also found out, quite by accident, that one of the 10 Indonesian words I know comes in handy, "SUDAH" (pointing up and then down) indicating to mamasan I just finished w/ one of your gals. that's interesting and makes alot of sense. Not sure, but it seems to me that the norm is to have the mamasan set everything up kinda as if the client is on a higher social stratus and it's in bad taste to stoop to a lower ground and actually talk to the girls directly. Personally, I don't fight against the mamasan system, however i don't use the mamasans in it's traditional sense unless i notice that she is overseeing a girl i'd like to book right away. Otherwise, I do one of two things to try to avoid loss of face by anyone (mamasan and gals alike).

Plus they are corectly assuming you have more money and definitely are gonna get laid that night (hell probably multiple times.) So of course they will extend more energy trying to close a deal with you rather than some local, for whom the likelihood of taking a girl up is less than 50%.

Of course, with just the knowledge of a couple of phrases it becomes a moot point. First, you Merlin's excellent suggestion "Sudah." Which an extremely useful and powerful word (definitely one of the ten first Indo words you should learn.) However, when you are walking around with that wide smile that screams, "I am horny and ready to go" while you are drooling over girls, then saying sudah isn't going to be credible!

I personally like to grab a barstool at a rail near the cashier where I can see the girls go to the bathroom and the stairwell. That is a good spot to get a good view of lots of girls.

On the contrary, pressure for drinks and barfines is much higher in LoS IMHO with SOME girls/mamasans. I never felt that in Indo.

Xen, I had the same problems as you do w/the mamasans the first trip or two b/c of the communication issues, and MX aptly described what motivates the mamasans. Ironically, I actually don't mind the mamasan system now b/c once the mamansans get to know your preferences (elephant memory is an understatement) they'll literally go out of their way to pull an A-team gal from the crevices in the back or resting upstairs.
