I will be the first to admit, Amsterdam is not a true monger’s destination. Although there are plenty of venues for P4P, it is expensive and the Red Light experiences are fast, and not always service oriented.
However, Amsterdam does offer a combination that intrigued me to take this trip. A chance to have sex with a large variety of nationalities, and coffee shops. Aside from perhaps Cambodia, where else can you have 24/7 sex opportunities and also be able to smoke out legally?
Please don’t get me wrong, I am not a middle aged stoner left over from the 70’s, well actually…… As of late, I have been having a lot of chronic back pain as well as Arthritic type pain in my joints. I figured I would try a week of pot therapy to see if it helps. So, 100,000 Skymiles later, I’m sitting in row 2 crossing the Atlantic like a king. I fly a lot, not so much Internationally, but Continental Business First on a 767-400 was pretty sweet. After the seven course dinner, I actually got a few hours sleep.
If you are a poor working class American, like myself, this city is quite expensive. My hotel is nice, maybe 3 ½ stars , clean. Decent sized room, excellent location, comp. wireless that works…. US$200 a night and that is well below rack rate.
Today is my 3rd day here. So far I have had girls from Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Indonesia, and of course Holland. The choice of sex here is not limited to the Red Light Districts… yes plural, there are three in this city.The main near Central Station, the Singel, along the canal of the same name, and The Pijp closer to the large museums
There are many Prive Houses, like brothels, sex clubs, escorts, and massage places.
If you are careful and don’t mind spending a little $$ you can even manage a GFE here and there. In my opinion, the trick to a decent encounter in the RLD is pay more than the asking 50 Euro suck n fuck. Always negotiate upfront for what you expect…. Fully nude, multiple positions, touching allowed. Don’t expect anything without a condom, hell, the girls do have a union. Other than the sex and smoke, this city has a lot to offer. This is actually my fourth visit, but my since 2001.
Lots of good food, great sights, historical buildings, great mass transit ( A bargain for those in the know…. Bring a passport photo, go to the main GVB office and get a 1 week season pass for the trams/busses. 10 Euros .) Also many beautiful and fashion conscious women on the streets.

I enjoyed Amsterdam when I visited a couple of years ago. While not a true monger's destination, it still is fun, and the coffee shops add another dimension.

My sex encounters were limited to the red light districts, and only one was memorable, with a Romanian. The others made Tijuana seem like the center of GFE's, but nonetheless I did get a kick out of shopping the red light districts.

Also, a word of caution: the coffee houses typically mix the pot with tobacco. You have to ask specially for it straight if that is your preference.

Don't take it personally, Baddog, if some of us bash Amsterdam. I'm among those who find the sex tourism there to be borderline pitiful. But as they say, YMMV. I found the pot/hash cafes of far more interest, and a much better deal.

I haven't been to Amsterdam in more years than I'd like to count, but definitely had a blast there. The variety is simply amazing; its a regular United Nations of the the skin trade. I get a little restless hanging out in the bars both night and day so having all the cultural stuff to do is a plus for the city. Does the Heineken brewery count as culture?

Did you hear about some parts of the RLD closing? There was a decision several months ago not to renew the business licenses of about one third of the windows in the RLD. It was focused on establishments with suspected links to organized crime. I think it was supposed to go into effect by the end of 2006 but it may have been challenged.

My brain cells are rapidly being depleted, but hopefully they will return someday. Ventured out to Park 118, a prive house I had been to several times on prior trips. I did not take the Heineken Brewery tour this trip, used to be 2 NGL ($1) and then you can drink all the beer you wanted. Now, I heard it is 10Euro and you get tokens for beers.

I don't remember the pricing precisely, but if I recall the most inane (and annoying) thing about the window girls is they charge extra for a position change, e.g., from missionary to doggy. My best recollection is that a position change actually DOUBLED the price of the session, although I may not be remembering correctly, perhaps it was only a 50 percent increase (such as 50 Euros to 75 Euros). This absurd charge, and the fact they virtually all ask for it, would suggest that paying the 100 Euros rather than 50 isn't going to get you much (for some reason though I thought the basic sessions were going for somewhere around 25 Euros two years ago, but I'm probably mis-remembering).

Then again, I spent more time in Coffee shops than shopping for P4P; after the Coffee shops I would usually forego the red light districts and instead play "try to find my hotel," a rather challenging task given both the potency of what they serve at the shops, and the all but impossible to remember layout of streets in Amsterdam.

Because ive been to Amsterdam, i thought i would add a little something to these reports.

La: Part of the P4P in the Red Lights is negotiate all upfront. 50 E will get any girl for roughly 15 minutes and don"t expect the world, but when I paid 70E or 80E , I consistently got 30 minutes, fully nude, multiple positions....Ironically, in the Singel area, 50 E gets the same and the girls are nice and friendly.
