I made a return visit to Caracas a few months ago. I had had a very good time there just over a year ago and needed to sample this city again. The main factor for me is the night club scene. There are several night clubs with an abundance of high quality chicas. I would rank them in the following order based on atmosphere/selection/quality/price. For comparison I've also rated some of the night clubs in Buenos Aires.

I did these ratings quick so don't beat me up on them. In general the club scene is a notch down from BA but still quite good. It is somewhat more expensive than BA. As long as the extra $ is not a big issue, the Caracas night club scene is a good time. Taking taxis to/from is a must for most of the clubs due to distance and safety issues.

Some misc info on club distances...
Angelus to Canagua: 1 min walk in safe underground parking lot.
Angelus/Canagua to Divas or Morrison: 5 min taxi.
Doral to Saxo: 5 min taxi.

Another reason I like Caracas is the excellent selection of daytime massage places. Options up to FS are available at most. Average chica quality is perhaps higher than the night clubs. Better than BA is terms of selection and quality but again more expensive.

From what I've seen there are much fewer independants listed on the websites compared with BA. I haven't hooked up with an independant in Caracas yet. Didn't try the first trip. Tried once second trip but she was a no-show.

I was always curious about the action in Caracas, especially due to the ease of getting there from Miami. With the current state of the government, both there and the US, would you consider Caracas to be "muy peligroso" for your average Gringo?

Caracas can be dangerous but the risk of something happening is minimized by following normal precautions. And perhaps a few uncommon precautions as well. Main thing would be to blend in and not display signs of wealth in public. No watch, jewelry or expensive looking clothes. Wear a flat, concealed money belt or keep your cash in your pocket. Not a wallet which creates a visible bulge. Don't make yourself a target in any way.

You can relax on these precautions inside the clubs however. I felt safe in all of them.

The fees at Divas are 300000 exit fee and 300000 typical for the girl. That's almost 300 USD, plus drinks (hence my low rating on price). I haven't taken a girl from here yet but may splurge next time - lots of hardbodied hotties here (many with silicone). I think it is considered the most 'upscale' of the Caracas night clubs and both times I visited there were plenty of customers.

The drinks are cheaper in the Caracas night clubs and the girl's fee about the same as in BA (~ 100 USD/hr). The reason the total costs end up higher in Caracas is due to the exit fee the clubs charge to leave with a girl. I found this ranged between 135000 - 195000 Bs (60-90 USD) ! The waiter serving you will tell you the fee. I sensed sometimes the waiters were padding this amount with a tip for themselves. So I think its worth a shot to try to negotiate this fee with the waiter if you're quoted an amount on the high end. If he won't budge, don't feel obliged to provide a tip. I don't recall getting any upset looks the couple of times I didn't add in a tip.

Some girls will stop by and start up a conversation. Sometimes two girls together. Most of them will get around to asking you to buy them a drink sooner or later. I learned the girls at Angelus get 10000 Bs from each 20000 Bs drink. However I didn't find the girls pushy or annoying. Some girls won't approach you at all. And some won't even make eye contact. DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THIS ! I almost was. I was thinking these girls were likely snobs and/or not into their work. I was wrong. My two best experiences were with girls I had to approach (or have called over) on my own initiative. I asked one about this, she said she never introduces herself; she prefers to be approached so then she knows the customer is interested.

As a sidebar, my BA experience differed, as it might on any given night. I found Black oppressively smoke-filled and outrageously expensive, with girls either overly aggressive and souring quickly if you didn't spend on them, or diffident from the start.

Shampoo was a drunken disco free-for-all, but no girls interested me.

Madahos was in between, with some attractive girls who generally either waited for you to make the first move or discreetly approached.

I stopped by Morrison last trip but didn't take anyone out. It seems to have gone downhill from the former glory I recall reading about when I first started researching Caracas. When it was new this club might have been the most upscale place around. Now, it is still nice and comfortable, but looks older, faded and antique. I also got the impression the waiter who served me (Johnny) wanted to see how much cash he could get from me. At one point he said the exit fee would be 190000 Bs. Then awhile later he said it was 250000 Bs. He also quoted 250000 Bs for 1 bottle/1 hour in the VIP room with a dancer. I spoke with the dancer and she said there wouldn't be any 'extras' involved. Maybe they get some high rollers in here but I wasn't interested. The quality of girls available wasn't so great either. It could have been an off-night for Morrison but I wasn't too impressed.

I also visited Doral this trip. The selection was poorer and the prices higher than on my last trip. I bought one of the girls a drink and had an interesting chat with her. But that was it.

Interesting - I learned you could just call Angelus and request a girl to come to your hotel. You don't have to go to the club. You pay her the club fee and her fee. Not sure if this is an open offer to all but this was offered to me by a waiter who I had befriended my first trip to Caracas and met again on this last trip.

I also learned that Angelus, Saxo and Magnifique are all owned by the same individual. This owner is also planning to open a new club in Las Mercedes called 'Versace'. It would be 3 stories high and upscale. This would be a welcome addition and I'll be sure to look for it next trip.

Those prices seem ridiculously high. $150 for 2 hours?!?! Total cost of $300?!?! I can fuck for four solid days in Pattaya for that. I can get 6 girls for 2 hours each for that in Rio.

For sure, Caracas is not a place for the budget monger. The hotel prices also add to the cost - $150-200 USD for good hotels. I budget about $400/day for Caracas. There is a small trade off with cheaper airfares, which is partly offset by more expensive taxis to/from the airport. Overall I pay about $1000/trip more in Caracas than in BA (for comparable time, quantity & quality). That's not a major issue for me. I keep Caracas in my rotation for variety and because I enjoy hitting the night clubs and seeing what I can find.

There is also something to be said for being in a city where the monger scene is relatively untouched by foreigners. I can't recall ever seeing another 'gringo' in the clubs, and almost never even in the streets in the daytime. I also almost never saw a girl leave with a guy in the night clubs. So it's a bit curious to me how the clubs keep the prices so high. Maybe I didn't stay late enough at them to see when the action picks up.

I made one appointment with an independant/freelancer on sexycaracas.com to come to my hotel, but she didn't show up. The Foro on that site has lots of detailed reviews on these girls. I'll try again next time. Average fee for an independant is about 250000 Bs ($120 USD). A much less expensive alternative than the night clubs. Some agencies are even cheaper. For hotels, a less expensive alternative would be the Hotel Paseo Las Mercedes which is chica-friendly.

So it is possible to enjoy Caracas on a much less expensive budget (~ $250/day) than what I spent.

Branquino, if you get hung up on making that comparison, you'd never monger anywhere in LatAm aside from Brazila or Colombia.

Venezuelan chicas are perhaps the vainest in LatAm, very hot, and with an incredibly high frequency of cosmetic surgery.

For good hotels you could try the Gran Melia, Eurobuilding, JW Marriot or Embassy Suites. Also the more economical hotel I mentioned above. Cumberland might also be a good, less expensive option.

Caracas has some great massage places. I've visited two and there are several others which I suspect are similar. The places I saw were large and clean with good amenities, nice ambiance, and line-ups of high quality chicas. They have menus with options going up to FS. All the options are written on the menu so there is no attempt at being discrete here. I found the massage places on the internet - from previous reviews and listings on websites such as sexycaracas.com.

I went to Spa y Algo Mas again - see my previous report for notes and directions. I chose Rubi from the line-up of about 8 girls. She provided good service but not up there with my previous visits here. I went for russian option, no FS. Price was 170000 Bs ($80 USD) for one hour.

I tried a new massage place this time, Geishas. Website is geishas.com.ve. Nice place in the same building as Divas - just a 10 second walk on the basement level. Too bad it's not open late at night or it would be a convenient spot to go for relief after spending an hour or two in Divas. You can see the menu on the website. The menu you receive in person has more details as to the services involved. After 7 pm the minimum price is 270000 Bs. I went one afternoon and had a selection of 4 chicas. They were all 8's and 9's. I chose Juliet, a slim brunette with DD breasts (fake). Beautiful face and hot hardbody. One of the hottest girls I've ever met. Nice and friendly too. She's not listed on the website but she wasn't either when I went. I chose the 200000 Bs option which included russian but no FS. The rooms at Geishas are better than the other place for two reasons: the shower is in the room and there is a large bed instead of a massage table. Juliet took initiative and got down on her knees to help me undress. I was sitting in a chair. I had her slow down and tease me while she slowly pulled down my pants, then underwear. Needless to say I was at full attention by the time she got me naked. She started more teasing and stroking but I had to stop her so I could go take a shower.
