Thank you gentlemen. It's not really meant to be a comprehensive destination guide, but rather an index of places I have personally frequented and can attest to. As I take more trips I'll add to it, with the hope that others may find it helpful.

BKK, to answer your question, I would personally choose Cali. The mongering options are good in both places, but I like the women a bit more in Cali. I like the weather and non-mongering activities more as well.

These questions are always really tough to answer though. I think that it's a really personal thing, and that so many variables come into play when deciding what the best location is. There's no absolute answer, but rather more what is the right personal fit.

To anyone who may have any information,

I am wondering if anybody has any sure fire suggestions to find out if a girl that I met is or was a prostitute or not. I met a beautiful woman in Cartagena during Easter week, a week and a half ago, and she is from Medellin. She came there for a few days to buy an apartment because she owns a couple of apts. and she rents them out. Two of them are in MDE. She just bought this one in CTG. She is also a lawyer (civil attorney). She is 38 and has an 18 year old daughter and a 4 year old daughter. Her 18 year old just started college and is studying medicine. Her (husband)/boyfriend of 10 years died of Cancer a few years ago. I think she is telling me the truth about all of this but I want to be sure. We had great sex and she has multiple orgasms. And she didn't try to get money out of me. I just paid for dinner for her and her 2 kids while we were together for the two nights. But she was ready to leave it at a good time that me and her had while I was on vacation and she was there renovating her apt. so she could sell it. She even pulled out 50,000 pesos to help pay for dinner the first night. Of course, I didn't allow her to pay for any of it. She seems to good to be true. And she wants to visit me here in the U.S. She is willing to buy her plane ticket and pay for half of the hotel if necessary. So I just want to make sure she is definitely for real before I invest too much emotion and anything else in her.

Thanks for the information. By the way I meant to say her (husband)/boyfriend of 15 years. He is the father of both her children even though he was 32 years older than she was. She actually does have a U.S. visa. She has a 5 year visa. She had a boyfriend of 2 years from Switzerland and went to Europe last year to visit him. So she actually stopped at the airport in NYC. I think that she might get more money from the apts. than being a lawyer. She said that she only gets $800.00 (U.S. dollars) a month as a lawyer. I don't think it is her own practice but she seems to be able to take off when she wants to and for how long she wants and that puzzles me. I can't understand Spanish well enough to understand why. The other thing that puzzles me is that she and her daughter are studying French because she is trying to get her Canadian citizenship. When I asked her why not try for U.S. citizenship she said it is easier for a Canadian one. But she seems to have a pretty decent life in Colombia for an attractive, single, mother on her own, who's not a prostitute. I don't think she'll do as well in Canada or the U.S. as she does in Colomia. So when I asked her why she wants to move, she said she likes the things that she has in Colombia but she is fearful of the guerillas and wants a better school for her daughters. CTG is one of those great places where you can easily hook up with non-pros. Not necessarily "prostitutes" or "putas" and the gals will never admit to such. Many non-pros and tourists can be had for spending money. True its only a perception, but perception = reality.

Here's a thought. CTG is actually a "small" town where many people know each other. Sounds like she'll probably be in the Boca Grande or Laguito area (buy property). Tony (Tout in front of Las Velas) or his brothers can usually track down someone for me (they always track me down) effortlessly. Tony would also know if she's a freelancer.

Her property is in Laguito. It's actually on the 22nd floor of the El Conquistador. I know that building used to have a lot of prostitutes living in there. But the guy that rented me my apt. at Torre Centauro said that they don't even allow prostitutes in the El Conquistador anymore. I told my novia/amiga the same thing. And when I told her that there used to be a lot of prostitutes living in there she legitimately seemed surprised. No offense, but I'd rather not give that fat turd, Tony, a picture of this woman. For all I know, he'll probably try to turn her into a prostitute.

There are still a lot of putas living in El Conquistador. They just don't let you bring in outside talent.

Most putas are out of the business by 30. Competition takes its toll. Thus, had your girl been in the business, she has not been for many years. I wouldn't be too concerned about her past if she has learned to live another life.

It has been estimated that over 70% of the 18 to 30-year-old girls in Medellin have been paid for their favors. That certainly does not mean that they have hooked the street. In Medellin they are called "grillas."

About 3 years ago I went to Cartagena for the weekend with a buddy. My non pro girlfriend picked me up at the airport and we went to the El Conquistador. In those days my spanish wasn't very good, and she helped me with the registration. I signed the book and there was a little exchange between my GF and the Portero. I didn't get it all, but she was not happy after the exchange.

She grabbed my hand and we went to the elevator and she was visible pissed off. We get into that small elevator and I asked what happened. She said, "The guy thought I was a puta" As she looked at me with that look asking me to defend her position, all I could do was give her that elevator look from the shoes up to her very shapely cartagenera ass in those tight hip hugger jeans they wear and say, "Probably he said that becasue of your "culo".

The look on her face was priceless. Recall that she is pissed, her face went from pissed, suprise that I would say that, then in true cartagenera style, to a big smile for the compliment of her very nice culo. LOL.

Trick1, just thought if you REALLY, REALLY need to find someone in CTG (espec. Laguito), Tony's a fricken human bloodhound, the likes of which I've never come across anywhere else. Like him or not, the guy has found gals others could not for me during the 3 or 4 years I've known the dude. I'm no Tony apologist, but Tony is stocky, Smitty will attest that I've often wrestled w/the dude when drunk and he's solid muscle.

I also agree that there are still many "putas" and "ex-putas" livig and loitering in the El Conquistador. IMO, Colombia is unreal for the opportunities to lure non-pro gals into bed.

I've been conversing with one of the other guys on here and he has a friend who actually knows her and has confirmed that she is, in fact, a lawyer and NOT an outright prostitute. So that is a relief. Now she may be after a U.S. citizenship. I can live with that. I really just don't want an outright prostitute trying to con me into a U.S. citizenship. And I have no doubt that Tony can track down people. She is coming to visit me next Friday and SHE bought the ticket. I would actually like to visit her in Medellin someday.
