I am a 38 year old Santiago native, so I have a good knowledge of the Santiago sex scene. Here is an outline:
When in Santiago, the best district to stay is the new business ditrict around Vitacura and El Bosque streets. Actually it is the only appealing place in Santiago. Hotels like Hyatt, Radisson, Intercontinental, Marriott are all there, as well as Manquehue, Montebianco, Director, Kennedy and other smaller hotels in which they will let you bring a girl for a small tip.
The best way to get around is using taxis. You just go out for a walk (El Bosque is full of nice restaurants and pubs) and catch a good looking taxi. If the driver is good and knows a bit of english, ask him for a card and turn him into your personal driver by calling him everytime you need him. Santiago has more taxis than New York and the guys are desperate to keep their clients.
Champagne Club in Vitacura/Padre Hurtado
Vitacura is the only high-class district full of girlie bars in Santiago. Champagne is number one. Most girls here are Playboy-level and charge accordinly. The best way is to flirt around with the best looking girl and finally sit down and have drinks with one of the class B girls who watched you while flirting. She´ll be so happy and will be a walking wet dream anyway. Have about two drinks and buy the girl 3 drinks (USD 20 each, yes, expensive). Don´t get too close to her and don´t urge her. When things start to get personal (some kissing and touching), just before she asks the big question, look at the time and say you have to run. She´ll get angry, so ask what you can do for her. She´ll ask you to come again, so say you can only meet her during afternoon. She´ll give you her cell phone number to meet "outside". That way you will avoid the club´s commission (about USD 100). If she keeps being nice, she´ll always be. If not, dump her.
You DO call her the next day exactly on time. Her cell will be off to make you desperate, so you´ll politely leave a calm but nice message. She´ll call in half an hour. If not, you call. Setup a meeting and pay her before she asks. It will be about USD 200, but worth every penny. Remember: these girls are normally handled like cattle, so they ADORE it if you are a gentleman. Also, wait for them to touch or hug you. Don´t attack first. You´ll have the time of your life and meet her again the next afternoon for half the money, and the next, and the next. Don´t forget to bring some T-shirts or little crystal figures from home. Forget perfumes or teddies or lingerie, they´re used to that boring stuff. Don´t forget to invite her to the beach or ski resort over the weekend. She´ll go for free and be the best companion. Your buddies will be awed and think she is a high-class college girl or model or whatever. You´ll spend such a niche weekend that you´ll both cry when saying goodbye at the end.
You can follow the exact same strategy in the following clubs in Vitacura: Platinum, Lucas Bar, Christine, Passapoga, Burbujas. Girl quality goes down in the listed order. WHen you see the girls at Burbujas, you´ll think you died and went to heaven, so just imagine Champagne. Don´t forget: become lovers with ONE girl per club.
Make sure your girl is CHILEAN. Chilean girls are warm and tender. Avoid brazilian or argentinean vixens. They are too smart and even if they they tell you they´re 20, they are 23 and have been pros since 15, so they know every trick in library and WILL trick you. Most of the time, foreign girls are brought by the club in groups and lodged in big villas where they are locked when not working, so outside meetings are impossible. On the other hand, the chilean girls that look fresh good enough for Champagne will probably be working for a few months to get out of a financial oops, not really pros.

Thanks for the clubs info. But, wow that price sounds like doing US escorts or strippers.
No wonder back in 05/02, the Chileans were flocking over to Buenos Aires by planeload to shop and to do the "nightlife". Chilean men were all over the boliches.
Pardon my current welfare recipient status, do you have any info on Low-End or Middle-End Scene? Gracias.

Jf,
Thanks for a great rundown. I traveled a few times to Santiago in 1997 and 1998, and am hoping to go back there again. Thanks for the good advice.

J,
Good info but nothing for nothing but sounds like a lot of work to get some company. If I wanted to play 007 I would have stayed married.
By the time you add the price for all the hassles, the prices are the same for Playboy quality girls in the United States.
I'm sure I'll try Chile but hearing that report does not want to make me buy a ticket anytime soon. Thanks again for info.

I am thinking of going South from Christmas vacation (live currently in Bogota) but shit - forget that with the money. If I go I'll check out the Lake district and pull myself until I get to a cheaper location.

I usually like to go for the best looking ones. If the B class goes for $200, how much would the Playboy centerfold go for? In Chile don't they have their own currency?

Athos: Chilean Peso CLP Exchange rate was 1000CLP/GBP 700CLP/USD in Aug-early Sept.

alternate strategy....fly directly to Buenos Aires...pick out an Argentine girlfriend...take her to Chile for the week/end....airfare from BA to Santiago isn't much....and you will save a bundle in chica costs....

Then why go to Santiago?
Isn't the skiing better in Bariloche?
By Ezy on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 - 02:24 pm: Edit |
Athos, good point...but once in a while some of us must visit other countries for business purposes....
By Godfather on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 - 05:50 pm: Edit |
I like Ezy's idea a little. My goal for 2003 is to visit more of the countries in South America. I know some of us are going to the same cities in South America 4,5,6, and 7 times a year. I guess if "it ain't broke don't fix it" but I really want to see more of South America.
Has anyone on the board done this? Has anyone taken a few weeks and traveled throughout SA? I'd really be curious to hear some people that might have done this. Thanks.

Lead the way Godfather....sounds like a good idea

In my younger days, skiing the powder of the Bariloche was my dream. I'd love to spend several months just mongering in South America. Maybe this is my new dream.

In answer to Godfather's question, mongering throughout South America requires time (to do it right). More importantly, it may put you at risk with your US business interests. If you do not keep a close eye on the mother ship, you may have a mutiny on your hands. People may prefer to indulge jealousy and greed instead of venture forth like we do.
When younger, I mongered-at an average of three months at a time-from Panama to Buenos Aires. I did chicas from Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile (skied Farrellones & El Colorado), Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. Personal favorites were Buenos Aires, Rio and Santa Cruz, Bolivia.
While one leads the life of a cool cat away, knowing mice play, partners work at take-over plots (everyone concludes your absence proves you are unnecessary to the business' success). Thus, it has been has been a while since I went south; been too busy in court (years) with business litigation regarding the hostile take-over of my former business and subsequent studies in film/TV and law.
Godfather's posts remind me of trips like my last: my friends and I missed our flight from Rio to B.A., for 5 days straight. Our mantra of "One more time" and Help's garotas may have led to the missed flights.

Funny. I went back to look at this post almost 2 years old now. I wasn't too motivated to travel just for the sake of traveling. But I'm forgetting about the girls and traveling just to travel is the case now. Still, I like the option of being with hotties.
I just booked my ticket to Santiago for July. It will be interesting how it is. However, I'm flying in my ex-novia from Brazil this week and she wants to go to Chile with me so we'll see how it goes.
I'll post what I find out.

Hi folks,
Going to be in Chile next week and wanted to know if there was any updated info. I am staying at the Crown Plaza per the info from 2002 by Moondog, but if there is any updated info I'd like to hear what you have seen in Santiago.

Anyone mongered in either Argentina or Chilean Ski Resorts?
Or does it make more sense to bring someone in from the more affordable locales?
By Sf4dfish on Monday, December 05, 2005 - 04:59 pm: Edit |
Crazier, I believe you better "BYOB"?
Bring you own broad! From what I've heard?
You "cumming" to my neck of the woods? Let me know when? Let's hook-up in Sao Paulo:-) sf4dfish
