General BackGround:
St. Maarteen/St. Martin is one of the Leeward Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean. It is divided into the two title countries. No border crossings exist within the island. I had noticed that the island had some action in the old WSG articles at Paranoia. Thanks for the 100th time Atta. Anyway, being a lover of all things Caribbean and an enthusiast of the hobby on an international level. I had always meant to get there. I noticed I had a few loose air miles and got an awards ticket for February 2000.

As I got closer to my trip, I put a few posts out on RedSnake and TSM to try and pick up some added info. I got lucky at TSM, as a guy named Dutchie posted a great report just two weeks before I was leaving. I have taken the liberty of attaching Dutchie's report after mine. It was a tremendous help and a key element in what turned into a very enjoyable trip.

Quick Summary:
This is not a premier monger destination and will never be spoken of in the same context as The Dominican Republic, Bangkok, or Brazil. However, St. Martin can be a lot of fun and has the added benefit of being one of the most pleasant places to spend quality Caribbean time and still have night time hobby activities available. I like St. Martin a lot and will return, but the hobby will be a plus not a prime motivator.

It Ain't Cheap:
There are plenty of hobbyist activities available at good prices. You can get a decent looking short time bargirl for $30-$40. The rest of a St. Martin vacation will break the piggy bank.

Airfare: $650-$900 from ORD (good candidate for mileage awards).
Low End Rental Car: $60 a day including taxes. You need one.
Hotel: I paid $185 a night for a very nice (not top end) place just off of Orient Beach. I have just rebooked this hotel for May of 2001 and the off-season rate is $85.
Dinners: The French restaurants will run $50 without wine.
Chicken Salad at Kon-Tiki on Orient Beach $20.

Driving
You need a car or moped to get around. Driving in Tijuana is more relaxing. The roads are narrow. The potholes are deeper than the ones I saw in Nuevo Laredo. People are constantly swerving to the other side of the road to avoid the potholes. The roads are poorly lit at night and the locals walk on the side of them because there are no sidewalks. Kids or dogs can run out at any moment. Drive slowly.

The Hobby
All my monger activities occurred on the Dutch side. Saint Maarten is part of the Netherland Antilles, like Curacao, and prostitution is legal. The government is supposed to receive 25% of your money. I am sure that there are activities, and probably considerably more upscale ones, available on the French side, but I did not pursue.

Based on Dutchie's report I focused on the Hotel Defiance. I was not disappointed. The big draw here and on the island in general is that they have girls from a lot of different places; DR, Columbia, Trinidad, Brazil. The girls sign on for 3 months at one of the bars. They have rooms there and pricing is $30-$40 for short time. BBBJ is the norm, but must be specified. Over nighters at the Hotel Defiance were $100-$200 plus a $50 bar fine.

The Hotel Defiance is large. The downstairs bar is about 1/2 the size of Adelita's in Tijuana. There were up to 25 girls on any given night ranging from 5s to 7s with a few 8s. They have a few pool tables and the place is fairly well kept up. There is also an upstairs bar that was open one night and is almost as big. I get the impression that this is a fairly new operation.

My hotel was on the French side and was not a monger place at all. The place was so laid back that the front desk would close at 10. I would bring a girl back about 11 and take her home about 8 in the morning. No problems, but I played it very low key. The girls were upscale and not dressed like hookers. At first glance we looked like an average though age disparate couple.

My first night on the island I went to the Hotel Defiance. I was planning on pursuing Columbian and DR girls. After scoping the place out, a dark girl stopped by and started making small talk. She was from Trinidad and spoke with an English accent. It was funny in that I assumed she was a darker DR girl and was talking español to her and she was trying hard to figure out where I was from. Anyway she was pretty (could stand to loose 10 lbs.), and amusing. I tried her short time and received a decent BBBJ and multiple position sex. I made arrangements to meet her the next day and called it a night after a long travel day.

The second night I stopped by the Merengue Bar on Simpson Bay that Dutchie mentioned. It is supposed to be good for DR girl friend like experiences. I think I hit it too early ( about 9:30), as there wasn't anything going on except a surprise birthday party. I stopped back at The Hotel Defiance and immediately ran into the Trinidad girl. I tried her for an over nighter and was disappointed. The sex was okay, but she started talking my ear off. I actually took her home early just to get rid of her. Really my only disappointing experience of the trip. I was getting a warning signal back at the bar, but I ignored it. I'm going to learn some day. You gotta go with your instincts better than I did on this one.

My third night I tried the Seamen's club. Quality and quantity of women is below the Hotel Defiance, although there are a few 7s to be found. The Seamen's Club is small, about 1/2 the size of the Tropical Bar in Tijuana. I picked out a Columbian girl and had a decent, but unremarkable session with her. After that I returned to the Hotel Defiance.

I was relieved to see that my friend from Trinidad was not around. She had said she was changing clubs and I had had enough of her verbiage. I hung out for a while and noticed a nice looking delgadita. As I was in recovery mode, I waited a little too long and some other hobbyist whisked her off. Maybe later.

I had noticed another delgadita and figured I better get going on plan B. I looked her way and she smiled and walked over. She came across the floor with the biggest fuck me walk I had ever seen. I remembered TightFit's posts on this topic but asked anyway. "¿ De dónde eres ?". Her reply as expected was Santo Domingo. Evelyn was fun. We joked around in the bar for a while and she even asked me where I learned to speak español as well as I did. That was a first. I concluded the night with a short time session in her room. Sex was good, but not sensational. She was actually a little too lively for my late night mood.

My last night, I returned once again to the Hotel Defiance. I had planned on trying delgadita number 1 from the night before. She had those haunting Columbian eyes and had a walk that just kept my attention really well. Well I walk in and see her. Before I can cross the room, some other guy grabs her. I mean to tell you the action in this place is not that fast, but this girl is always being grabbed just as I start to move on her.

I see Evelyn and say hola. She tries to get my business for the night, but I nicely tell her I want to look around. I hang out for a while, but don't see what I want for a last night on St. Martin. Evelyn stops by later and I buy her a drink just to be friendly. I really like her, but just don't have a hard on for her that night. I tell her "me gustas, pero quiero una mujer nueva para esta noche". This sits all right with her and she says wait a minute and brings over a friend who had been sitting out of the light where I didn't notice her.

She is pretty. A solid 8. 5'3" 105 lbs. Carmel colored eyes. High cheekbones like Sophia Loren. Reserved and sultry. Quiet, but very nice. I know what the answer to "¿ De dónde eres ?" is going to be, but ask anyway. As expected she says Cali. I make arrangements for an overnighter and take her back to my place. She looks even better out of her clothes. The sex was good, but not fantastic. We repeat in the morning and I drive her home. She smiles and gives me a picture of herself.

Odds and Ends
Once again, be careful driving. Orient Bay was the only beach I tried and I saw no reason to try any other. It is fucking heaven. The French and Creole restaurants in Gran Case are without parallel in the Caribbean. You could spend a month checking them out. Went into a Creole place one night. The waitress spoke French and Spanish. It was great. I don't know that we understood each other's words, but we communicated well. She said "Uno día nosotros hablar la misma lengua". I said "Es mejor como esta".

Here we go on my report on St. Maarten and St. Martin the half Dutch, Half French Island in the Caribbean.

I'm living here for a while and I've had plenty of time to experience the scene on the island.
First of all the island is a bit of a microcosm of the world, sort of like a Manhattan in the Caribbean with probably well over 100 different nationalities on the Island.

French Side:
The French side is relatively well ordered for the Caribbean, since it is essentially a French commune with all the facilities of France. Most locals speak English as an unofficial first language and most mainland French speak or attempt to speak English with very heavy accents. Like elsewhere on the island most everyone are very friendly on both sides of the island.

The French side doesn't have much in the way of traditional TSM hangouts, but it does have very good restaurants, great bars (For you Cuba lovers out there, try "El Bodeguito Del Medio" in the Marigot Marina), great clubs if you like me are into house and techno music. The main areas to check out in Marigot are the Marina area particular along the North Western stretch of the Marina where most of the cool bars are. The waterfront also has good bars and some of the better Clubs (Pascha's and L'Havanne are both good).

The women are also incredibly beautiful - both the mainland French and the Creolas. They seem to all have these extremely tight bodies that would send any American stripper on a Boleamic trip. I believe there are plenty of opportunities for girl friend sex here if you can present your self in a "hip" way that would attract a nice French girl. I've had plenty of opportunities so far but prefer not to have any strings attached at the moment.

There are also definite professionals around, but probably on the pricey side and definitely not as obvious as the Casa's on the Dutch side.

Another place to check out, even though I cant say I've been there much is Orient Bay, which is a beautiful stretch of beach with wonderful topless French woman and a fully CO part frequented mainly by Americans at the Southern part. There are many bars there and I hear that they can get very lively at times.

Dutch Side:
This is where most of the action is. The Dutch side is very Lasseiz-Fair about most everything, which means that pretty much anything goes.

Whorehouses:
Most of these follow the same model. They are packed with Columbian and Dominican woman, who each have a little room at the back. You normally start in a bar, where you do your drinking and procure your business from the girls. The girls then take you to their room where you take care of business.
The best times to go to these places are between 11pm - 1am.
These I'm writing in my order of preference best to worst.

Defiance Hotel
I only discovered this before Christmas and mistakenly thought it was the infamous Whitehouse. It located in Lower Princess Quarter and is very easy to find if you know how. From Phillipsburg follow the main road east along the pond. At the end of the pond the road splits, take the left turn that follows the pond north into the mountains. You pass Seamans club on the left hand side after which the road starts to ascend sharply. Keep an eye out for a Road on the right hand side that says Oyster Pond Road. The Hotel is the first building on the right after that road. You will see a small sign saying "Kappers BBQ" but no mention of "Defiance Hotel" or girls. Park your car and enter the largest of the buildings in the Complex. Depending on the day of week it's either in the downstairs bar or in the upstairs ball room.

The girls are very friendly. You get your usual mix of Columbianas y Dominicanas. More than anything the facilities are very clean, not too crowded and you find yourself hanging out there for considerably longer than in your regular Casa in the Island. Most of the girls I've been with have been very enthusiastic and are a laugh to hang out with afterwards. A friend of mine has repeatedly had doubles there, which I feel inspired to follow on my next trip. Prices are regularly $30-$40 (US) even though they normally try you out at $50 or $60 to begin with. If you go there after 2am you can probably pick some up for around $20. Before you go to her room, she will ask you for $3 for the key. I'm sure it will be easy to take them out for a low price after that time as well.

The Defiance is without a doubt the very best place in St. Maarten, so check it out.

Seamans Club
I've been to this place many times over the years and it's pretty much stayed the same as long as I can remember it. For directions see the directions to Defiance above, but keep an eye out for a sort of rough looking building with lights on and a parking lot in front of it on the left hand side after the pond but before you start ascending the mountains.

The place looks like a real dive, but dont let that discourage you they often have very nice girls. Prices probably range around $30-40. It gets really crowded during weekends and particular if their are a group of sailors in town, it can get quite rowdy, but still very enjoyable. I've only seen them put on a show once, which had a really hot Dominican mulatta perform all sorts of acts with a beer bottle.

Le Petite Chateau
I've only been there once. Judging from their ad in some of the tourist magazines, it sounds like a really classy strip joint. But don't let that fool you. You can definitely have fun there, but it is a very rough place with Strippers on the bar and lots of girls pulling you into their rooms. To get there drive down the main pond side road at Phillipsburg again and take a left onto a reclaimed area with a large Satellite Dish and a small local university. Follow the very bad road and you find yourself surrounded by Containers on one side and a Baseball stadium on the other hand. Just look out for the place with all the cars in front and you're there. Don't be to alarmed by it's location it gets very busy.
Grab a beer enjoy the show and you will be contacted virtually immediately by chica's offering their services. The girls are a little bit cheaper here than the other places. But I didn't think they were as nice as either of the above places.

Others:
There is a well known Casa called Whitehouse. I've never been there myself as I thought that Defiance was Whitehouse. Fellow whoremongers have told me that Whitehouse has good girls, but the place itself looks very rough. There is supposed to be at least one other place near Whitehouse as well. I will follow my TSM duties and duly inspect both of these last of my uncharted whoring grounds soon and extend the report.

Strip Clubs:
Platinum Room
In Maho Bay there is a very classy yet slightly dull club called "The Platinum Room". The girls there are very beautiful and range between 7s and 10s. The whole atmosphere is very classy in a style well suited to the tropical climate. The girls will give you a good couch dance for I think $20. However neither on stage or in the back room are the girls allowed to take off their panties, which sort of makes it a bit dull. As I said the girls are beautiful, and I have heard probable anecdotal evidence of guys taking girls home from their after closing time. There is a good combination of European, American and Jamaican girls there.

Maho Bay is a major tourist place right past the airport coming from Phillipsburg, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it. It's a small area so just walk around and you will find the Platinum Club. They don't open til after 10pm so dont bother coming early.

Cats
If you like me like black westindian girls with no inhibitions this is a good strip club. They also do try to offer other services, but are way to expensive for that for me. $100 short time??? So I have intentionally left them in the Strip Club group.

The main stage have between 3 to 6 girls dancing to Reggae or R&B in various stages of disclothing. Most of them, dont strip completly down, but don't let that worry you to much.

You sit around the stage with your drink and they occasionally walk around and perform little shows for you trying to squeeze dollar bills from you. The will take your hand and insert your finger into them while they are rubbing your cock with their legs or hands. Better than any US clubs I've seen anyway. Having only really been to US clubs before, the finger thing kind of took me by surprise.

They have a VIP room, where you pay $10 or $20 buck entrance fee. It's a bit wild in there as the girls dance and jerk you off for a few dollars. It was actually a bit uncomfortable there when it was crowded, since I'm not accustomed to sharing a sofa with a guy having his stiffy jerked off in public. So personally I wouldn't go in there again during a crowded night. Here they also try to get you to go their private rooms for sex, but skip it and go to Defiance or Seaman's club afterwards.
Cats is open all night long, whatever that means, but I've driven by at 5am and it's still been packed.

Here are a couple of small things I forgot in the report.

If you want to pick up Dominican women for Girlfriend sex there is a great Merengue bar, simply called the "Merengue Bar". It's opposite the Lightening Casino in Simpson Bay and always seems to be packed with beautiful Dominicanas. And also, how does this place compare to more traditional TSM destinations. It's a great place, but it aint Boca Chica. So come here if you want a traditional Caribbean holiday with a slight nocturnal garnish.

If you want to be busy with the chicas all day long stick with BC, Rio, Thailand etc. I'm actually going to BC next week myself.
