Just got back from DR last nite, Flew on Delta from Ohare to Atlanta to Puerto Plata and return for about 300.00! East flight, except for delays in ATL due to weather in ORD. Arrived with my buddy Dr. Flintbone at POP airport and cleared customs in no time, but had to wait quite a while at Alamo for our rental car. It was atint car, but only 100 bucks for 5 days, so why not? Driving in DR is an experience, but I've driven in Thailand, so no biggie. But even the main highway is full of big potholes and crazyass motoconcho riders, so be careful! The road from the Main HWy to Costambar where Blackbeard's is located is like a goat path, but it is fun to avoid the huge ruts! The Resort was a bit hard to find, but we arrived and check in was fine, they took our cash up front for the room as they charge you 20% if you use a credit card, which I believe is illegal, but hey, its the third world, right? We rented the Penthouse, room c-6, which is large and quite nice and clean. on the third floor, so if you have bad legs, you might reconsider. As there are no elevators. I took the King bad and the good Dr. took the adjoining Queen. they have a shared large bathroom with a big shower with enough room for all! hehehe! My main beef with the room is the inconsistent Air-con, which goes out a lot. But the room fans seem to do the trick. the minibar was wellstocked and cheap. They discourage you from buying outside booze, but I did not the less and nobody said anything. If you keep it in your room, what can they say? My first girl was Maria the house Massuese. Nice bar run by Tim,an expat Canadian who will give you lots of info on the DR. He is a nice guy and the food in the restaurant is cheap and quite good. He runs the Nite on the Town tour, which we took the following nite, it is a booze bus which hits a lot of local places and has a lot of drunk tourist girls on board. it is fun and you can get loaded without having to drive or worry. Dinner is included too at Cafe Cito and I liked the tour a lot. Meet some girls inSosua on the tours and got numbers, the girls at Latino Bar, especially the batenders are very hot and available for the right price. I think I will stay in Sosua next time, there is more to do and a better selection of pussy. Cost was about 50-60 ST and 100 LT, there is no salida as the girls are working on premise per se. Some girls will ask for more of course, bu i didnt give it to them.
