What a mistake that was!!
Sure we both wanted to see alot of Romania, but not via 12 hours a day driving. It was not the best!
The Hotel Parliament in Bucharest was fine. The restaurant ("Burebista") was good. Disco Herenstrau (now closed) was smokin! We got there at 10 pm. There were even dolls in the parking lot. Cover = 100K leu. Easily, had a chance to score (must have been hit on 10X), but my associate wanted to split to get some sleep. What a fuckin' dud! We did have some serious negotiations at the end over the bill. They tried to double it. Fortunately, our driver/guide over the next few days Andy, interjected and settled matters.
Next day, off and driving. First stop north of Ploesti was a palace in Sinaia. Then to Bran's Castle in Transylvania where we overnighted. Had din in "Dracula's Restaurant" and went off to this "Blue Moon" disco that was full of kids. Passed on a local strip joint.
The next day was Saturday. Toured the place, popped into a few museums, and scored provisions for another day of long distance driving. Stopped in Sinai for lunch. Took some fabulous video there. Outside of Brasov we stopped for dinner. Kept fuckin' driving. We didn't reach the goddamn' coast (Constanta) until 10 pm. Ate. Cruised a few discos, all dead, but the show at the "Scandanavian Club" was super! The hotel disco was crowded but they wanted us as guests to pay a 200K cover, so we bought some wine instead for a nightcap.
The next day we finally relaxed on the beach and had multiple brewskis. While strolling around, I did take these SLR shots.
We all went to "La Scoica" for dinner. Place was happening! Lots of dolls around and the food was very tasty.
After, we cruised around but all the strip joints were dead. As was the streetwalker area. We scored a few ales for a nightcap, again!
This last day, we had to get moving early. When it was time to pay Andy, our driver/guide, I could not believe what kind of fucked-up arrangement my friend had made with this guy. Not only did we feed him, and pay for all but one nights lodging, he asked for $ 480 USD in cash, from both of us. I was stunned.
The flight back to Poland left and landed on time. I was quickly off to visit relatives and on returning; we had another long weekend planned in Moscow.
