Wanted to do a brain dump before forgetting the details. I'll update and expand later.

Hit SLRC around 5:30PM. Checked out the various hotels, went with the San Angel even though it was very pricey compared to the other options. Chose the hotel for A) vehicle security, and B) in-room safe. Room was sparsely furnished, and I stay at a much nicer place in Hermosillo for less money, but that's another story and the SA is the best hotel in SLRC.

Hit some of the local clubs around 7:45PM. Bar Rio, Boobies, Medusas, Iguana Bar, etc. WAAAYYY too early for any action. Medusas does not open until 9 (Friday, not sure about other days), Boobies was open at 8 but I was the only person there and the girls were still arriving / getting ready. Rio Bar had 5 oversized (for me) girls sitting (very un-enthusiastically) at the bar watching their favorite novela (soap opera) with the bartender, and no other patrons.

Las Cascadas is apparently closed for good, and Gau Gau is no more. There are a ton of little local bars on the side streets as described in a previous post (Iguana Bar, Tony's Place, La Taberna, etc.), and I poked my head into a few of them. Dead, with one or two chicas, possible one or two hombres, and nada mas (nothing more). There is a new bar at the far eastern end of Obregon called Kongo Bongo. Grand opening this weekend. Lots of locals but I didn't go in. Also, there is a local bar across the street from the SA Hotel that was rocking around 1:30AM.

Ended up at Medusas at 9PM ($5 cover). Girls there were so/so (for me) with the hottest being less than what I wanted for the night. I should state right now that I am fairly picky. I LLLOOOVVVEEE the spinner-type chicas, the prettier the better, and both Medusas and Boobies were in short supply of this type of chica. Bailed from Medusa's after learning that I had just seen the best girl (fitting my description to the waiter), and headed back to Boobies (keep your receipt to avoid paying $3 cover again).

Boobies had one girl that interested me. Called herself Daniela. 23 with braces, spoke good english though pretended she didn't at certain times. I speak ok spanish so no problem. Bought her a few drinks ($7 each - very reasonble, beers were $2.50) and lined up a TLN at my hotel for after she was off work (3AM). By the way the San Angel seems fairly strict with visitors, however, I talked at length with the security guard and he said as long as I arrived at the hotel with the girl in my car, I was fine. This turned out to be a major hassle as Daniela blew me off at our established meeting place so I had to go through the effort of leaving the hotel in my car only to be stood up - at 3AM. Sniff. So, Daniela (blond currently, petite, braces, spinner-type frame, said she is from Hermosillo and formerly worked at La Habana I) is not to be trusted for a later meeting).

Left Medusa's and headed to Paradise, a massage parlor near the now defunct Las Cascadas. Wish I would have stopped here first. Found the spinner of my dreams! Ugh, was this chick HHOOTT. I think she calls herself Diana. Very small, very spinnable, and very, very cute. Also 18 years old, and looks at most 16 years old. Prices at Paradise (I was probably overcharged in my euphoric state) - $40 for the house, think this includes the massage (and a Fresca!!), and $120 for Diana. The place was very clean, nice big shower, small crappy massage bed (typical, and I hate these), pool table in the lobby, but overall very comfortable. Did I mention how hot Diana was? I was barely able to remember the name of my hotel when I left Paradise. God I love spinners. I must admit though, the quality of the women I have seen in Hermosillo, Nogales, and now SLRC does not compare (for my standards, no flames please) with my beloved ticas of Costa Rica. I miss them so. ;^)

Thanks for the new report on this destination. I was planning to spend a night there or Algadones or Mexicali during my upcoming trip to TJ.

I also tend to find the hottest Mexican spinners at the Massage Parlors. Saw several massage girls that interested me during last weeks trip to Nogales, but ultimately found my trophy at Bolero's.

A Nogales massage spinner asked $140 for full service about 6 months ago, but settled for $100 once she realized the alternative was $zero.

Good Report. No one really talks about this place much because well, lets face it.. Its a shit hole. But I still liked it.

I haven't been there since my trip report last year but im suprised they are trying to get that much out of us these days. I offered a girl at La Posta bar $70 and she was more than happy. That was during the day though I must admit.

As for spinners I don't think you are going to find too many in that area. All those "ladies" seem to have ass, titas, and guts in between them.

It is funny because I too was in SLRC about 3.5 yrs ago and I couldn't find any decent action. I ended up at that massage parlor. The action was overpriced and the service was lousy. Oh well I busted a nut.

Given the limited income potential and the abusively hot summer temperatures, this is probably a destination where hot chicas come and go rapidly. So one week it may be next to worthless and a month later a few of the clubs are well stocked. That seems to be the pattern of the posts here and on other sites.

Anyhow Fueqoel I really enjoyed your report. I have some time on my hands these days and hope to visit a good amigo in Tucson this autumn with a border town tour along the way. I hadn't thought to check out SLRC but now if I make the trip, I will be sure to.

Looking forward to any further information that you post, especially if you know anything about acceptable accomodations near the clubs. I am somewhat disabled right now and unable to walk what others would regard as short distances from border parking lots to the club action...so I want to get an overnight bed as close to the action as possible. I am thinking about driving from SLRC to Nogales on the Mexico side of the border.

Erip, if you take the Mexican route you will likely pass though the border town of Sonoyta. I believe there is still a brothel called Mogambo. It will be on your left. I would skip SLRC and hit Agua Prieta if you don't mind driving a little east of Nogales.

Thanks Roberto. I drove into Sonoita (sp?) before I ever mongered in Mexico so I was clueless. Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at the map but that may be a bit of a detour since highway 2 runs southeast in Sonora and gets further away from the border.

Agua Prieta is also in my plans though I'll keep an eye on the news. AP was recently featured in a L.A. Times article as a defenseless town on the hitlist of drug cartels - a story about a handful of underarmed but dedicated AP cops who readied themselves for an attack from a heavily armed cartel militia. Turned out the militia was targeting another pueblo south of AP and state or federal forces eventually got there to take the badguys down in mountain retreats before they could target AP. No kidding - a story of small town Mexico cops and other police agencies as heroes! But it was mainly about the vulnerability of villages to all of this "war on drugs" anarchy in many parts of Mexico. This time Batman and Superman showed up in the nick of time. Next time, who knows?

HWY 2 runs right through Sonoita and then goes South. AP is very safe.

I thought the hot chick at Bolero's was named Esperella, but I am probably mistaken. Should have asked her to write it down (lol). Anyway, the girl I had was smoking hot and has the most perfect body I have ever seen in Nogales. The only way to know if we are talking about the same hottie is the two tongues tattoed on her back. I will try to confirm the name next time I see her.
