I got out of bed of my own volition at 8:30, more rested than I have been all trip. I am not sure who or what my daytime plans include, but I will be seeing someone today - One day's rest is enough!
After a wholly unsatisfying phone call with my boss, I decided that I needed to get laid.
After looking through the thousands of ads on the internet, I settled on about a half-dozen girls and Paloma answered her phone. Paloma advetises on Relax del Peru (http://www.relaxdelperu.com/galeria.php). Here's her ad: Click here. Quite often, these ads are for agencies, and they send anyone, but whoever answered the phone was real pleasant, I told her I saw the ad, and she said that I saw the pictures, so we will see who comes over. We finished our call at 10:15, and she said that she would be over at 11:00 - 11:30; I have high hopes.
She called at 10:45 to confirm - a good sign. And finally showed up at 11:50.
The ads here in Peru don't show the girls' faces, so it is a little bit of a crap shoot. Anyway, I open the door, and there's your standard Peruvian College girl: about 5'5" tall, long, straight dark hair, small breasts, nice figure, and a big smile. She's freshly cleaned (her hair's still a little wet), and she looks like they came and took her out of class to send her to me. This is the kind of girl that you would see at the mall and kick yourself, because girls that look like that are NEVER hookers, and you're too old to ever get one of them. And too bald, and too fat, and will never become a success…

Well, today was my chance.
She comes in, sits down, and we get to talking (mostly she talked; I tried to keep up). She's 20 years old, lives alone, and works for an agency. I am pretty sure that she's the girl in the ad, and she shows me two other ads that are her (here and here) with different names.
We get all touchy-feely, and she's sitting on my lap, grinding away and kissing me. We go into the bedroom, where she proceeds to give me a perfunctory blow job, followed by sex in three positions. Her phone rang twice, once while we were making out and the second time while we were screwing. She had enough sense to ignore the second call. I finish after a while, and we get cleaned up and dressed. She calls back her agency and tells them that she will be leaving soon. I take just a couple of pictures (she's face-shy), pay her (150 soles plus 20 for taxi - $53.97). Paloma (or whatever her name is) thanks me, kisses me, and tells me to have a good day. It was lunchtime, so I headed to Cebicheria La Mar. I love the place.
Apparently, most of Lima does, too, because it was a 40-minute wait for a table (at 2:00), and I didn't want to wait that long. I had seen another place on Av., La Mar, so I decided to walk down to La Red.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone can stay at La Mar - La Red is the joint! It is smaller than and not as fancy as Gaston's place down the road (plastic tables and chairs), but the food is every bit as good - maybe better.
As usual, I ordered too much food. I started with the causa filled with seafood, then grilled octopus (pulpo a la parrilla), and I finished up with the parihuela. The causa was delicious, the octopus was grilled to perfection (absolutely fabulous), and the parihuela was the best I've ever eaten. Parihuela is a seafood soup, and I order it just about everywhere I go. The broth was flavorful, the fish was fresh and delicious, and the two scallops tasted as if they came out of the ocean after I ordered the dish. And, it was a huge portion. Either the pulpo or the parihuela could have been enough of a meal for a normal person.
The total tab (with a soda) came to just under $20 (61 Soles). If there's a word above recommended, that's the one that I would use to describe this place. After stopping to shake the hand of the head chef, I waddled down the street and took a cab to Parque Central in Miraflores.
On Av. Larco, there's a clothing store called La Quinta. It's six or seven storefronts wide, and it is just filled with people rummaging through tables and tables of clots. I suspect that many of them fell off of the truck on the way out of the Free Trade Zones for export. I picked up some polo shirts really cheap, flirted with the girls a bit, and cabbed back to the hotel to rest up for the evening. Some of this food has to get processed, or I am doomed.
A while back, I was lucky enough to stumble upon PeruTops (www.perutops.com), a mongering board devoted strictly to Peru. It is the most comprehensive and (pretty much) grown up board of its type that I had seen anywhere, as long as you could understand Spanish. The amount of information there is incredible. They had added a small English forum at the end of 2005, and I had posted a couple of trip reports on the board. These reports caught the eye of the powers-that-be, and they invited me to join them for a couple of days of whoring on a subsequent trip. I learned more in those two days than I had picked up in a half dozen visits on my own, and more importantly, I was able to make some friends and score some contacts in the Lima monger community - an invaluable asset.
They have since asked me to co-moderate the English section, and the ability to give back has been very rewarding. The board's moderators get together every few months, and they were able to schedule the most recent meeting to coincide with my visit, so I will be hooking up with the boys tonight.
The meeting was at a bar called "Superba" on Av. Petit Thouars. The story behind the name is simple: It used to be called Superbar, and the 'r' fell off. Such is how traditions start. I got to hang and shoot the shit with a bunch of great guys, and I was promised a couple of crucial phone numbers tomorrow, proving that it's not what you know; it's who you know.
I left the guys at 10:15, and headed for the casinos before girl hunting. I was getting killed at blackjack at Casino Miraflores, so I moved to the Caribbean Poker table when the only dealer with any personality showed up there. She dealt me a straight on the third hand, so I wound up leaving that casino up $50. I walked to the Hacienda, where I won another 130 soles (about $40), and at midnight, I took a taxi to Club Emanuelle.
Emanuelle is one of the high-end clubs in town. Drinks, entrance, the girls… they're all expensive there. But they've got some beautiful girls working there, that's for sure. There's some pretty ones, but there are also some beautiful ones.
I was sitting at the bar watching the show (it was pretty crowded), when some drunk local guys decided that they didn't like all the Americans in the club (there's some convention in town or something). I had a good day and didn't want to screw it up by getting into a fight with a bunch of drunks, so I just left and took a taxi home. I wasn't going to take a girl tonight anyway, so I figured discretion was the better part of valor.
I was in bed before 2:00 am. Tomorrow, the guy that I use to drive me around when I want a personal driver for the night offered to get a girl for me. I've known him for a while, and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to hustle me unnecessarily, so I took him up on the offer. She's supposed to be here at 4:00 in the afternoon. I may go back to Scarlets tomorrow night and watch the show - we'll see.
