I just returned from my first trip to Rio de Janeiro! I had a great time and I'm sure I'll visit again soon. Many thanks to Bwana Dik for his Rio Guide 2006. It was a valuable resource that served me well.

I booked a studio apartment from Bobby at Blameitonrio4travel for $70 U.S. per night. It was small but had a great view of Copa beach and was conveniently located next door to Help disco.

Day 1 - I met a cute girl on the beach in front of the Othon Hotel. The guys renting beach chairs and umbrellas tried unsuccessfully to intervene as pimps. Those guys are con artists and theives. (Thanks to Bwana I didn't fall for their scam but saw several other victims who did) The girl was cute and well worth R$100. Great BBBJ and nothing was off limits except nude photos. I definitely got my money's worth. It was a perfect start to the week! That evening I went to L'uomo and chose a cute girl with a great body. The session was good but could have been better. OK bbbj and ok sex but I was expecting much more. How do you choose a girl? Do you choose a young girl with a beautiful face and a hot body or do you choose an older girl with more experience? This is my perpetual dilema. When I pay for sex I always choose a girl with a hot body but the older I get the more I realize I'm probably wrong. I should probably lower my standards and go for more experience.

Later that night I went to the most expensive termas in town - Centaurus. I showed up around 11:00 p.m. At the front desk I was asked to leave a R$330 deposit. The good news is that I selected a hot carioca that rocked my world. She was open to everything except photos. I liked Centaurus but didn't think it was worth the extra money.

Day 3 - At 10:00 p.m. went to Monte Carlo and thought the selection of girls was below average. I reluctantly selected a tall girl who tried very hard to please. It was an OK night.

Day 4 - I decided to try my luck at Help. Everyone should go inside at least once. It's like any large disco in the states except you can can take these girls home! I was surprised at the number of hot girls. I was soon attracted to a girl wearing skin tight low-cut jeans. We flirted for a while and negotiations started at R$300. I offered $150. We settled for R$200 for all-night. She may have been a pro but she lacked the experience of a termas girl. After an hour of lackluster sex I sent her packing and promised myself I would not to go back to Help.

Day 5 - Thankfully I saved the best for last. At 2:00 pm I took the Metro from Copa to Centro. Termas 4X4 was only a short walk away. I was happily surpised at the quantity and quality of girls at 3:00pm. It was standing room only. I chose a girl before 5:00pm so the R$40 entry fee was waived. I had two (one hour sessions at R$180) and was very happy with both girls. My total bill was R$430 which included several Redbull drinks at R$10 each. Do those girls really like Redbull or are they just looking for commissions?

Day 6 - My flight departed at 9:50pm so I spent the afternoon and early evening back at 4X4. It's impossible to relive a previous night's experience but why would I go anywhere else? The price was right and the girls were great. Believe it or not - the second night was better than the first. I didn't think it was possible but the girls were more beautiful and the sex was hotter! It was the best sex of my life.

It's a shame we have to travel so far to find the best sex in the world. The only bad news is that I'm offically ruint4life and have lost all interest in American women. Surely there are Brazilian girls working in the states? Does anyone know where they can be found?

Yes, the perpetual nagging question; youth vs. experience. Perhaps the ultimate is a young hot babe who takes instruction well and learns quickly? We can only hope.

As for how to approach the selection process, I'm not sure there's a style that works for all guys. I'm always looking for the vibe I pick up from the girl. I usually will spend a fair amount of time talking with her, and am looking both for how she responds to the interview questions and her physical response. I'm wary of girls who never warm up or who come on too strong too quickly. I find a lot of the latter types at Centaurus.

Thanks for the words of wisdom! I probably would not have gone to Rio without your guide!

This was probably stupid (and risky) but the best thing I did on my trip was to secretly video 2 or 3 minutes of each session with my very-small sureshot camera. The girls where totally unaware! The secret was to start filming while they were still in the shower or doing reverse cowgirl. It´s subtle skill that takes time to master! I now have a small collection of "priceless" videos clips that allow me to re-live my experiences again and again!

By the way, I met my first Brazilian girl while she worked in San Juan, Puerto Rico at Frenchy´s II (near old San Juan). Trip in a month and your report is getting me anxious

(For other newbies) - After reading my trip report (a week later) I realize I should have taken more time and put more effort into my report. For example, on the flight from Miami to Rio I sat next to a guy who had been coming to Rio for many years. After the usual small talk about Beautiful Brazilian women he leaned toward me and said, "I need to tell you something - I've been coming here for 24 years and I've been mugged and robbed 12 times. Most of the time it was in broad daylight on busy streets. If anything happens no one will come to your rescue!" I have to admit it really startled me! We're making our final approach to GIG and I'm starting to wonder if I made the right decision. It's one thing to read about crime in Rio but quite another to listen to a victim tell his story. I asked him why he kept coming back and he said he loved Rio so much he couldn't stay away. Admittedly most of the robberies occuried before the Pan American games and it had been several years since his last assault. The good news is that I took his warning seriously. Combined with Bwana's 10 safety tips I felt very safe. As a matter of fact, I probably felt too safe! Several times I walked from L'oumo to Help without a hint of trouble. I felt just as safe in Rio's Metro as I did in Washington D.C.'s Metro. Also, I knew that if I were robbed, I had some throw away R$40 in my front right pocket and my Termas cash and credit cards were safely tucked away in my money belt.

Also, I should have talked more about my rookie mistakes. For example, several times I selected the wrong girl. It usually boiled down to my lack of patience. The final straw would come when I didn't see anthing better. My thought process was, "This seems to be the best girl so I might as well go for it!" My thought process should have been (1) This is not the only place in town. I can be in another termas or night club in a matter of minutes.(2) It's "just business" to the girls and it should be "just business" to me. These girls are so hot they make everything feel warm and fuzzy.(3) I shouldn't be worried about hurting any girl's feelings. These girls are pros and have seen it all. Just because she's been sitting on my lap for the past 5 minutes I am not obligation to choose her (even if I think it could be a mistake).

Sounds like you learned a lot of valuable lessons on your first trip.
