After enjoying my last vacation which was primarily diving based, I decided that I’ve dove Phuket enough for the time being and wanted to see what it had in the way of women/spend long lazy days on the beach. I also decided that my one night in Pattaya last vacation wasn’t enough. So I reserved four nights at the tres chic Baboona boutique hotel on Beach Road.
Things didn’t go quite as planned, but I was able to adapt and overcome with relative ease and I really managed to enjoy myself for the most part.
Bangkok: Smaller, shittier, dirtier
Day 1
Our tale begins with my Thai airway flight that was smooth as silk and cheap as fuck at E518 round trip. With only a carry on backpack that I thought would simplify my travels (later we’ll see how wrong that was), I was through the taxi line in no time and got out at Sukhumvit just shy of soi 4 right in front of the overpass. Up and over and into the drugstore for my goodies. I then entered Majestic Suites and learned that I was upgraded from a single superior to a double deluxe. Nice.
My main purpose of my one night Bangkok stay was to go shopping for bootleg software at Panthip Plaza, which I’m using on my new iMac to create this report. And I’m glad I decided to keep it at one night. What an overpriced shit hole this city has become. It used to be fun and affordable for a capital city. Maybe if I had a lucrative job here I’d enjoy it but as a visitor, I find that the quality of nightlife goes down on each trip while the prices go up.
After a shower and a nap I headed up to Washington Square to try out Sanzanka massage. I found the 2 hour massage to be worth the 1280 baht (not a bargain) with a table bath, body scrub, slat scrub, being covered in steaming hot towels and massaged, then skillfully stroked to an orgasm. I had Mee by the way. When you enter this place they show you a picture book with a percentage rating next to each girl that indicates her popularity, although it could be hard for a new girl to compete under this system.
Afterwards I went to Bourbon Street for the Mexican buffet, which was pretty good. I would say this is a good option prior to moving on to soi Cowboy. Soi Cowboy has really deteriorated into a boredom zone. Long Gun used to be my favorite bar because they played lots of hard rock and had awesome shows and a good line up and 95 baht beers. Now it’s 120 baht beers, and bargain bin R&B and lame shows. Across to Tilac. After being to places like Bedrock in AC where the stage can’t even hold all the girls, and the manager is buying you free drinks every so often, I can’t tolerate a bar where the manager is playing Yahtzee with his buddies and seems to take zero notice of the customers in the bar or even encouraging the girls to be a friendly bunch. It was just dead. The cowboy is an old tired man now.
I decided to try out Rawhide before writing off SC and perhaps calling it a night. I’m glad I did as the mock catwalk model show had sexy ladies in negligees, who came back for a second look in birthday suits. Then the girls in stockings and leather jackets gave a truly rocking show. The regular line up came out dressed in business suits and glasses. Very nice, but I wasn’t ready to take a bedmate yet.
On to Nana. Angel Witch stays the best go go in Nana although a red bull, the little bottle is 115 baht WTF? US $3.5 for not even a 12 oz beverage? Screaming bloody murder inside my head I decided that I would be better off using night 1 for sleep as most BKK girls are short tempered short timers these days.
Awaking later I thought I would try the FL scene at Nana. It was a shadow of it’s former self, albeit this is low season. I should have stayed in bed, as the girl I got was too fluent in English and was completely obnoxious. I’ve never grudged fucked a Thai girl before. Well there’s a first time for everything.
Day 2
Awaking alone, I packed up checked out and headed for the sky train. After seeing that MBK has removed the software vendors, I continued on to Panthip Plaza via taxi as it’s a bit of a hike from the sky train to there. The first cab wanted 200 baht so I told him to stop and climbed back out into the smog. I asked before climbing in the next one if he would use the meter and he agreed. As the taxi crawled to Panthip, I could feel the sun blazing through the rear windshield negating the air conditioning completely. I remember thinking what a far cry this is from being on a breezy baht bus in Pattaya or a moto taxi in Phuket and being to your destination in 5 minutes. No I’m definitely not on vacation yet.
On the second floor the touts found me, I presented a software list and saw my covers. A cup of coffee in the food court and I returned with all of my software. 15 minutes tops. With all of the business done I continued on to Patpong and the Star of Light.
Air Asia doesn’t have a lounge so SOL was a good substitute. Right on the couch I was orally entertained by 3 little starlets drinking a Heineken all the while. It took a while to finish, but when I did--I was officially on vacation. I stayed for another beer and bought drinks for my starlets. Leaning back into the couch I felt a contented sensation spread throughout my body. This is how you relax before your flight. This is what the Thais call Sabai.
