I just got back from China recently. I had the absolute honor of mongering with the greats on this board as well as other boards --Tujunga, MX, Murasaki, Sukhumvitter, Rhover, and a slew of other dudes from the ISG board. Finally got my chance to nail down several "firsts":

It was a hell of a fun week in Southern China. Right now Chang Ping is the King of hard body young asian hotties destinations. Concarne: Actually, I've been delaying a So China trip for the longest time, despite recs from good people. Tujunga and I got the multi-entry visa after just our 1st trip to Southern China (although I've been to other cities in China) and obtained the full Pimsleur Madarin lessons.

Mitch: RMB is the Chinese money denomination or Yuan. The official abbreviation is "CNY", but its more common to see it abbreviated as "RMB".

Great Pics Merlin as always. Must be fun to hang out with all these great guys. How was the service and what is donation structure? You must remember there a twin option available at Casa De Marinero in CTG. I was given that option but I was too fixated with “J” that I did not take that offer. Hope to get more detail on your trip.

Hey Soc, I wouldn't say the KTV gals I pulled were the best looking, just great chemistry. We went to Jiayi KTV 3x and they must've had between 300-400 in their lineup on at least one night (elbow room). At Crown Prince, I was told there were 500-600 gals by the KTV regulars and a mamasan working the night we all went, but we must've seen only about 100-120 before selecting.

Hey PHd, good to see you're still around. Yes, I do recall hearing from Jacklyne that casa Marino did have twins but didn't get to see them. Were they cute? The pricing structure I posted above, but I'd say the generally, the service was hit or miss (several FOB girls). There were some places that were more consistent with the winners, and the Sexy Sauna had a group of gals "A Class" that were good looking and service was out of this world (toe fuck, 18+ "courses", multiple positions).

Merlin: Great report. As to the BBS girls, I remember paying something like 100 to the mama-san and another 100 to the girl for short-time, and 100 plus either 300 or 400 (can't remember but I think it was 300) for long-time. The question I have is whether you tipped on top of the base fee. I did and found many would then try real real hard to get even more money from me, some of whom would not leave until I made it real clear they weren't getting more than their 100 tip (in one instance I had to call Crazier who was in a room at the same hotel to talk to the girl and tell her to get the fuck out of my room).

If I recall correctly, another member of this board once suggested that tipping in Southern China above the base fee was an invitation for this sort of trouble. So, I'm wondering what your take on this is (as well as what others found in this regard).

LA guy, I have found that the Yalan BBS pricing is 200 ST and 500 LT. But from the Hui Mei area BBS, the night market, and the mobile pussy vans is 150 ST and LT is what you can negotiate. As for tips, it does seem that the girls will try for 10-20 RMB for taxi ride back. I will usually honor this request or offer it up front. Occasionally I will get a girl who asks for one more red Moa. A stern NO squashes that usually. Of course about 25% of the time you get a worthless clunker of a session which merits nothing more than a swift kick in the pants.


However, a short time has changed its meaning to straight to the hotel for anywhere between 45-90 minutes of one shot fun. If you drag the girl out to eat or all over town and/or want multiple pops, the girl will make a stink for more. While I don't like this change I can understand it. Time is money for the girls.

One more comment on KTV quality. On this trip Jaiyi line-up was awesome the two times I went there. Then a friend of mine was really graicous and invited me and the other hombres to join his crewe for a night at Crown Prince KTV. Crown Prince is a fucking awesome facility and they supposedly had 600+ girls. Also, Prince enjoys a reputation for high quality line-ups. But I gotta say I was kind of dissapointed in the line-ups we saw. I thought Jaiyi definitely outclassed the place. Plus at CP every girl wore a black dress. This made it hard to pick the girls it tend to make the girls look homogeneous and kind of hid their figures. Also, felt like I was picking out of a line-up of widows. No such problem at Jaiyi where the costumes a varied
between groups of girls and are hot hot hot.

Merlin: it was a joke, but when you see it you'll get it, especially relating to the first few pics.

While the KTV lineups are a sight to behold, neither pulchritude percentile nor quality quotient seemed worth the dinero differential. I had better experiences with several BBS girls for 1/4 the cost, and a sauna siren for half - she handed me a menu, entirely in Mandarin, so I just pointed randomly. It was hilarious, a bit like blind channel-surfing.

For me, the van girls fell roughly into 3 categories:
1) too plump;
2) too hard (tattoos & scowls); and
3) too scared of foreigners, only willing to go if a friend could come. Granted, this may have been an upsell ploy. They also quoted me 200 rmb, clearly the onset of foreigner pricing.

LA Guy, Mx is spot on with the tipping, I also usually give about 20 rmbs/$1.50 for travel.

Av8r, did get a new cheapie, used Cannon SD 630 and learned to tweak the settings a bit. But the gals were really shy, most of the real cuties would not pose.

Tujunga is correct about the KTVs, not really my cup of tea, expensive, and seems time is wasting sitting there playing dice games for couple hours. I just like the lineups and hopefully Murasaki figured out a way to just pull a gal and not to go into a room and get hit with the fees. As for the sauna services menu, I also pointed randomly and got ... an upside down BBJ, big toe fuck, pulsating pussy, gal riding me Cowboy and rotating 360, etc. You can tell the gal what you like by patomining.

SEXY SAUNA

To answer the few PMs regarding the Chinese Sexy Sauna, here's my take. IMO, it's one of the MUST DO things if you're in China. Some of my most memorable sessions ever were with the "A" class gals (professionals) at some of these saunas. Almost every bigger hotel in China will have a "sexy sauna". I did my share of these in Shanghai, Zhuhai, Quingdao, HK, Macau, and Beijing and can't get enough of them.

In South China, the costs is approx 250rmb/US$33.33 for the room and 300+ rmb/US$40+ "tip" for the gal. Some hotels will charge 500rmb/US$67 for "A" class or "models" who happen to be be taller gals. Usually, the latter group of gals provide incredible service overall (for instance, many of these gals seem to know how to pulsate their pussies). It's much more expensive in Shanghai and Macau where it can easily go over $100 US. In Macau, Beijing and some saunas in Shanghai, they have other ethnicities such as Ruskies, Korean, Mongolians, Viets, etc. In South China, I rarely saw other ethnicities. The sexy saunas in Zhahai are particularly noteworthy and MX and Crazier did a bang up job on several good massages there in previous Trip reports.

Unlike LOS, there is no fishbowl or "soapie" massage on a mattress. The gals will be brought in for a lineup, 3-4 at a time. Each gal will have number and you should jot the number down if you like her. Note that the first few lineups will be gals that haven't sessioned for awhile (i.e. not the most popular). If you want, they will eventually bring in all their gals, and you can hold one gal off to the side to see if you want to keep her while viewing the remaining lineup. Most Captains will give recs on service and I found most of the recs to be right on.

Sessions are often 90 minutes and if you can pop more than once, the gals will often accommodate. Often times, the gals will provide at least a dozen different "courses". In fact, there is a "menu" of services as Tujunga mentioned, but its' all in Chinese. Generally, the gals will shower and scrub you really well, BBJs in different ways (hot/cold), tonguing/sucking the entire body, rimming, ball licking, multiple fuck positions are the norm. One gal even tried to enter through the rear with a vibrator contraption. If you can communicate what other things you want or what your "fantasy" is, the gals will do it. Service is YMMV, except for the "A" class gals IMO.

Some hotels will throw in a "trainee" for an extra 100 rmbs/$14 U.S. and another 100rmb/$14 U.S. to fuck her. Trainees are more like dental assistants to the maestro IMO.

The fucks will all be covered, but you get so hot and horny during the 90 minutes, you're likely to get off.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

1. Go between 6-8 pm, when there are two overlapping shifts (DAY-NITE SHIFT). Most saunas I've found are open 'till way late -- 4am and get going after lunch.

2. Get the name of the Captain who will show you to the room and call the gals and develop a rapport and they will hook you with the the heavy hitters and the nicer rooms. If you call 20 minutes ahead of time, the Captain will give you a discount (he/she get's better commission) and often a better room.

3. Many gals will have several different uniforms, such as Murasaki's STUNNING flight attendant or the slinky, traditional "suzy wong" chinese outfits. I've often asked them to bring in their assorted uniforms.

4. You can make specific "fantasy requests" of the gals. Mura will hopefully cover this later, he swore he was "done for the day" after marathon all nighters but managed to shoot off 2 more on our last day :-)

I'll cover this again when I do my trip report, but here's what I found out from Crazier about getting karaoke girls without renting a room.

Most KTVs have lounges where you can simply get a table. Jia Yi does have one; it's located to the left, instead of turning right to go to the gauntlet. If it's a weekend, you should phone ahead to reserve a table; week days walking in should be fine.

On arrival, you get seated at the table. Once you stake your claim, then head to the gauntlet to get your girl(s) (other venues that don't have gauntlets will bring lineups to your table). Bring the girl back to the table and commence with normal mongering practices.

If you decide you want to pull the trigger, there is a minimum table charge of 200 yuan, plus one drink for the lady (not expensive). The same pricing system applies: 200 if they just sit, 500 for short time take out, and 800 for long time take out, all in.

Not all KTVs have lounges. At the Crown Prince, the opera house where the big show happens is the lounge, and they will bring the lineups in there for you to peruse.

Now for the most important bit of info. If you have the phone number for the mommy, or the girl, you can simply book the girl with a phone call and never set foot in the KTV. The girl will come to your hotel. Same pricing still applies: 500 ST and 800 LT, but at least you save on KTV charges.

A word of advice from me: if you find a girl you like, GET THE PHONE NUMBER OF THE MOMMY-SAN! I got the card for the mommy of my little stunner at Jia Yi, and on our third trip back, had someone call the mommy for me and put the girl on ice. She went straight to the room to wait for me, and bypassed getting thrown into the gauntlet, where the risk of others nabbing her is high.

I loved the ktv action there. I'll do a full report after my return to the land of fires.

I think I remembered the minimum spend in the main hall of Jiayi wrong. If I am not wrong its actually less than 100 rmb (per head). I truly cannot remember cos it's rare that we go to a KTV and end up in the big hall. Perhaps Socrates can remember better cos I did take him and his friend there once in the main hall.

Unless a girl is absolutely new, SHE WILL HAVE A MOBILE PHONE! And if she does not give you her nunber, obviously, she does not want you to call her!

As for Merlin's remark that the KTVs are expensive, if you have a party of 4 guys, and split costs while managing your drinks well, it's not more expensive than a drinking binge in AC, Bangkok or Pattaya in the Agogos. However, I am comparing partying hard in all these places.

What I like most about CP's KTVs is that the girls drink what we drink and not those expensive pussyfooter coloured glasses of sugar water which they down with a vengeance in some Bangkok / AC agogos. For some of us who like to get our girls "nicely high" the fact that they have to comsume our alcohol makes the task of getting them "nicely high" reasonably cheap.

If you had Wei Wei our trusted KJ Manager taking care of you, that's what it should be.

Many of the locals do drink a mix of whisky with green tea; this is very popular with the locals to "stretch their dollars".
Unless you tell them not to do it, quite often, you will find the KJ pre-mixing your bottle of Scotch into a pitcher and pouring green tea into that giving you the "concoction".

(They do this when they play lots of dice & other games with losers having to down the entire glass and you can get a buzz if you lose a stretch too. Its very "IN" for people out in the town in China & other Asian locales to play games and get each other tipsy.)

Last time I was with Mx @ Jiayi, his 2 girls were pretty buzzed for sure and he went to the toilet to help one of them get "unbuzzed" with his sausage! It took him more than 20 minutes and he came out looking very happy.

I usually tell them SPECIFICALLY not to premix my whisky for me & some of us who drink it our way.

At the same time, I do allow the KJ to premix some for the girls because that is how they drink em. On occasions when I want to get the girl buzzed up more quickly, I get her to drink the drinks MY WAY & there are few who will resist because theirs is to serve and ours is to be served. No I do not force them, these girls know their place mostly.

Crazier, I appreciate the info and hooking us up at the KTVs. I should clarify, I did have a lot of fun at the KTVs (went Jiayi 3x and Crown 1x) and WeiWei was totally cool about everything and made sure we had a good time and things went smoothly. It's just that I kept thinking that 500/RM or $68 U.S. ST was (2-3 BBS STs there) and 800 RM LT was over $106 US. Cost in China is nothing compared to what we pay in Korea or Japan or stateside for the same thing (thousands of US); and I do agree thats what we'd pay for a nice barhop elsewhere. I'm also impatient by nature and enjoy active hunting in lieu of hunkering down playing games for a few hours. All in all, I'd do the KTV again without hesitation, espec. if we can just "barfine" the gals and take 'em home.

I gotta say that Wei Wei is a tremendous resource and really looks out for you in the Jiayi rooms. Plus she is extremely nice.

IMHO the KTV's in CP a far from a LD ripoff deal. And as far as KTV value, I doubt the value is better than everywhere. But it's really as much about the experience of male bonding and partying with the girls as it is about getting laid. So if you are in pure mongering mode and don't have an obscene budget to drag multiple girls to the attached hotel for serial ST, probably best to give 'em a pass. The downside of not playing in the KTV's is that you will then be excluded from 80% of the talent in CP. But on the flip side the scene is so big you can probably bang away for a week or two without the BBS talent growing stale.

WIth respect to weak mixed drink concoctions, the style of drinking is too play games and knock back the weak drinks a glass at a time. Many of the games are simple enough your girl can teach you without much common language. Believe me you can get your girl high (or she get you high) quite quickly this way. Sure seems like a lot more fun than connect four in some beer bar. But without those entertainment vehicles leading to guzzling the drinks, you will be sipping and not getting drunk. On this last trip the guys weren't playing games and the
party never seem to get started.

Actually I often see those little KTV girls get hammered. I found there power to recover to be quite remarkable. Often you see a girl drunk and passed out on the couch, but 45 minutes later she will bounce back up and jump right back into the fray. How do they do that? If I am down for the count I don't get back up.

As for the KTV versus BBS way of doing things, different courses for different courses. Personally, I am enjoying quite a long series of very good to fantastic girls from the KTV's and at the same time a run of poor to average series of BBS/Van/Night Market girls. Kind the opposite of the other hombres here. Plus while I don't mind doing a girl who is doing two or three different guys everyday, I gotta say I am starting to like the KTV girls who probably bang only 3-6 customers a week. Certainly that lower volume is worth something on the pussy market.

How can you compare BBS pricing with KTV pricing in the same locale?

One place (BBS) is a side street eatery while the other is a proper restaurant (KTV establishment). It's senseless.

By doing so, you cut yourself out from more than 90 % of the available women in the town of CP and find yourself trawling the depths of the BBS with the remaining 10% or even less although this is still a large number of girls.

Another fact is that the KTV women do less tricks per day compared with the BBS women who do many ST a few times a day if they are attractive. If you want to "buy a car with lower mileage" you know where it's at. (This does not guarantee a good service performance buy, it's about lower mileage only)

Yes, a girl who does not like to drinnk usually leaves a KTV for a BBS while a BBS girl prefers to move to a KTV for the higher income and lesser number of customers per day.

I have not worked out what motivates a girl to be in or out of a sauna as yet. I suppose, the sauna girl has to perform a variety of dirty tricks that some girls do not like to do.

Would you compare Pattaya's Soi 6 with one of Pattaya's Top agogo in terms of costs to pull the girl?

As I had mentioned to Mura, you can pay up & leave the KTV anytime so long as you meet the minimum spend if partying in the room is not your scene.

Why the minimum spend? Its the same as the Bar fines & lady drinks etc, the establishment has overheads they have to meet.

Some people like to get down to bonking at the earliest opportunity while others like to potter around before getting down to business.

Take the time spent in the establishment as an opportunity to "comprehensively interview" the girl before you commit to the bigger ticket of 500/800.

BTW, if you take a room at the Jiayi (which if you book via WW is only 168 net incl full internet access), you can move between the KTV room / table and the hotel room to check out the girls ST and manouvre and change girls over the evening as you go along. That would be more up your alley considering that you would have up to 250 - 300 girls to choose and most of the local Chinese mongers actually drink and sing without taking the girls anywhere. Also, if you stay at the Jiayi, you can walk to the Yalan area in about 15 minutes and that is why I stay there when I visit besides hiding away from people who know me!

In the main hall in the Jiayi, (where the minimum spend is low compared to the private rooms), a farily large bunch of girls sit around "waiting" to be shown to KTV room guests if they are not already taken. Being in the main hall gives you some interactivty with them and that is the one advantage of being in there.

One more thing, everyone pays to be in the KTVs. Not only yourselves.
The waiters, KTVs, the Mamis and the girls.
They have to pay a rental for their awful uniforms etc.
If they don't get their "tips" or performance fees from you, they are often out of pocket. Further, there are fines for doing things that their rules forbid e.g. being absent, being late etc. Put yourselves in the employees' shoes and you might now want to deprive them of their fair share of earnings.

I have compared the costs of LT (incl of KTV charges plus 2 girls to sit with you to choose) and it comes up to one ST in Macau. Now, how can anyone say that is expensive.

In Jakarta, KTVs cost the earth even with the local lasses! Try taking a Penjay or Travel Hotel girl out for LT and see what they will charge you?

My view is that CP is relatively CHEAP and you can choose where to spend your money = SORT OF UP TO YOU. However, please do not try to go to a good restaurant and try to pay a street vendor price. It just does not jive.

The fact that some of you have a mental block about KTV activities so that you want to make a quick exit as opposed to sitting around in a western styled go go means that you are not adaptive enough.

Try to view it differently and find out how you can enjoy the place. For fellow buddy mongers, I know for a fact that a KTV room is better for getting together & having a private party then an open Ago Go where other outsiders are shoving at your shoulders and the music is too loud to chat. (you can turn down / off the music in a KTV room to your preference for sure)

You can also change the room to be a mini disco and dance instead of sing or just lay around fondling except that they play a monotonous house brand of music for that. Many Chinese mongers in some places turn down the lights, suck up their pills to just trip out. You see some of them in the corridors on the way to toilets without their shirts too!

FYI, I usually do not sing at KTVs. Mostly, I go with just one or two other persons, take a small room, turn on the Screen for music & enjoy the girls leaving when we want to leave. It's cheap enough. Then, I don't need to bonk several girls a day.

I loved the KTV action. Had a blast at Jia Yi and would go back in a heartbeat. Of course I also had one of the best finds of my mongering career out of there, so I might be biased....

Crazier, you make a lot of good points about KTVs and I will still not hesitate to go back to a KTV, espec. for the lineups. I am not knocking the KTV experience for others, but am simply stating what my personal preference (as a guy that has been reared in the States)…is that the KTV expce is wonderful but it’s not at the top of my list of things I will do on every monger trip. I genuinely have more fun hunting for STs in the assorted BBS with likeminded mongers or doing the Saunas.

IMO, I did not find targetting BBS to be trawling in the depths or significantly limiting myself in that I found more than enough doable gals at the BBS and Saunsas each day to keep me satisfied. I generally pulled gals I found fairly attractive from the 10-15 houses, mobile vans, etc. As you know better, some BBS had 20+ gals on most afternoons, not to mention the scores of gals at the night market (I had good sessions there). Also, I do not have qualms about doing the scores of other gals available at the sexy Saunas in town. I have no problems paying 550+rmbs for Sexy Saunas gals as they have more often than not given me 90 minutes of constant arousal and a litany of indescribable "sexual favors" for that amount of money. So for me, I can easily spend days at the BBS and Sexy Saunas.

As for pricing, if you avoid the KTV room charges and pay the minimum “barfine” as you suggest (which I will try next time), the KTV gals then are (IMO) a “dolled up” version of brothel gals since the benefits of 2+ hours of interviewing and partying in the room have been omitted.

My bewilderment of the pricing benefits of KTV gals over other activities was even more acute before I read the above posts, because I didn't know you could avoid the rooms and other charges at KTVs, I assumed you had to stay 2+ hrs and pay all the charges/tips; specifically, the concept of spending 2+ hrs of primo mongering time (7-12 pm), spending approx another 300-400 RMBs on KTV expenses/tips (average split 4 ways), and 500 RMBs for the gal didn't make sense to me. Espec. since not all the KTV gals turned out to be "winners" in bed. So, to find out the KTV gals (I usually sat 2 gals) is/are not a winner, I am out upwards of 900 rmbs (over $100US) and 2+ hours of primo, night-time mongering opportunities. So in relative terms, that is “expensive” in terms of time and money.

In sum, it comes down to different strokes for different folks.

Ok Mura. As Tujunga is my witness, around 3pm, on the 4th or 5th day of our trip, Tujunga and I went on our daily "chicken run" to the assorted BBS houses (casa/brothels) across town. After several houses, I pulled a gal for my daily 4pm session. My gal was a cute, tallish gal highly recommended by the mamasan for her "pink color". As we are returning with my gal (Tujunga was sitting in front with no gal), my gal is yapping away in Mandarin -- didn't know if she was talking to me or to my driver. As the van is turning a corner, and without any notice whatsoever, the driver slows down and does one of those rolling stops on the street at the corner; my gal quickly opens the van door and bolts outside without any words. Momentarily speechless at what just occurred, I asked Tujunga if he saw what just happened? Tujunga gives me a puzzled look. By the time I look out the door, the gal is long gone from sight.

Later, I'm calling the mamasan to complain about my bruised ego, and the mamasan gives me this lame excuse that my gal's sister just got into town and my gal wanted to see her sister before the 4pm session. After reading mamasan the riot act, mamasan offers to hunt down my gal with her goons or send over another of mamasan's best pinch hitter instead. I decide on the pinch hitter, who arrives 30 min later as I am drinking shots with Tujunga and analyzing every thing that happened in the van. Luckily, the pinch hitter (less attractive) does exactly what she needs to get out of the jam and the rest is history.

When I saw the mamasan the next day, she tells me that the bolt-action gal was severely chastized and that I was partly to blame because my gal was saying that I had somehow consented to my gal bolting out of a moving van the day prior.

Certainly gave new meaning to the concept of runner. Merlin had slotted her into a narrow window in his tight schedule, leaving just enough time to catch up with the lads for a KTV excursion. We were so befuddled by her behavior (after all, she had not yet been paid) that tequila seemed an appropriate salute.

Nobody's saying KTVs are a waste, or that BBS or sauna is better - just different. It's a question of how you like to spend your time and money, which may differ from one day to the next. As for quality, let's face it: it's a crapshoot, regardless.

Hey guys, I am not promoting KTVs nor championing their cause. Neither do I like KTVS myself.

I take to KTVs in CP because its affordable, CHEAP (comparatively) and because the majority of the WLs in CP can be found there. I say "cheap" because I do not compare it with the BBS pricing because its not apples with apples if you know what I mean.

My writing was also because I did not think you understood the reason why the prices are different & perhaps you were unable to synch with a different local / regional entertainment preference.

Obviously when you undress the women to their barest, there is no difference between the KTV girls and BBS girls in most cases.

Have you considered that if you improved your communication with the girls, the results might improve for your picks, wherever you get the girls from?

Some of the BBS girls like to go to the KTVs with you too and sometimes, this results in you getting better overall service if she is LT with you. I also know that when I bring a BBS girl out with me, besides the restaurant, she only enjoys the local disco & KTVs.

I remember bringing a couple of them to the American Bar referred to below. They were unable to "synch" with the place nor the music nor the "different lifestyle therein".
Of course, we are there to be entertained.

However, if the girls are able to tune in better, they serve us better in my opinion.
Not sure it always works but it works for me.

Do note that besides fucking yourself silly in your room, (which is probably where you are coming from), there is little else to do in CP besides eating. There is only one music place (the American Bar) and a couple of noisy discos and a few other smaller Chinese Disco-KTVs, still Chinese entertainment places; not western styled.

The primary night time activity besides your room & hotel is the KTV.

Sure, given that you cannot speak Mandarin / Chinese, you would choose to F*** rather than sit around in a smoky room doing nothing with a girl who is costing you time and money! And as you put it "prime mongering time".

Outside of the KTVS and the "night market" & perhaps the "mobile BBS" there is little else to "hunt" at the hours between 7pm and bedtime.

The night market is made up of the unsold stock from the BBS & sometimes the KTVs too (rejects).

Since we each need only one girl to fulfill our nightly needs, it's not too difficult to find a "reject" that suits our needs at a "discounted price" for sure.

No question that language skills help in synching with a girl, and employing whatever means at your disposal to get her (and you) in a comfort zone may enhance quality. As in traditional dating, we all have our own ways to effect that, hence platitudes like "candy's dandy, but liquor's quicker." Guys like Murasaki and Monger X who don't drink develop their own game.

On the last two nights of this trip, one girl showed up late and unbidden at my door, brought a phrasebook so that she could communicate with me, showed her pics on a Chinese equivalent of MySpace, stayed both nights, and wouldn't accept any money, all because she believed that I had treated her well and we'd made a connection.

Another sunny girl, perfectly pleasant and compliant, constantly texted "her mother" when we weren't at it, and seemed surprised that I bid her leave rather than suffering it all night. Sometimes you connect, sometimes you don't.

Correct me if you know otherwise, but it appears that none but the sexy sauna girls receive any sort of specialized training. So if the night market is the KTV & BBS leftovers, they present as good a chance of quality performance.

In a town with few other diversions, KTVs and hotel foot massage are a good way to hang if you are fortunate enough to experience the sterling camaraderie that we enjoyed on this trip. MX is a born party host, Merlin a perpetual motion machine, Murasaki the quintessential explorer, and Sukhumvitter and our other language-gifted guides know the lay of the land better than any short-jaunt visitor could. It definitely made for a broader and richer experience than any solo or sidekick trip could have offered.

MX & Murasaki even braved the big pool of tiny fish that feed on your dead skin. They are now dermatologically devoid of crust.

Yr moving van jumper reminds me of another occasion when Mx and I were out at dinner with his favourite village BBS girl, the one who truly f***** him throught the matress.

I cannot remember what he gave them, I think it was the ST balance and I think it included money for the other girl who he had not done as at that moment.

Merl., in your case, I would assume (you have also worked out yourself) the circumstances were similar and the visiting "sister" was another familiar punter.

The reality is that we pull some great ones and more than a share of duds (looks aside).

The great ones develop a good following of returnees out of the major players from HK and are probably well rewarded with more than just money. Unless we offer the "illusion" that we may take them away forever to a "life of leisure and wealth", we may never be able to go back to enjoy the last great discovery. Most of us treat them better than nice for good service as far as I know.

The array of talent coming from the hinterland continues to surprise me each visit and if one dissapears, the next one is literally lining up there for us to uncover at prices that keeps us going back for more be it BBS or KTVs.

The quest for me is to find the girl with the looks that appeal to me (fresh without make up and a face that seems from heaven), a tight less used body that responds wildly to natures design, and, fun to be with in and out of bed.

Well, the food was kind of a sticking point.

As with anywhere you are unfamiliar, it can be a hit-or-miss proposition, and we weren't so lucky much of the time. In fact, both Merlin and Murasaki had their most satisfying meal at the Italian restaurant across the street from the hotel. This was not entirely attributable to the sterling company.

We all had different dietary preferences, but nobody was particularly impressed with the Hunan extravaganza shared by about 20 of us. What you would expect to be the culinary pinnacle was probably the nadir, camaraderie aside. We did better at dim sum lunch.

If you have some favorites, by all means share!

Some famous xiang dishes are dongan chicken, steamed ribs, hot pepper chicken or beef, lotus root soup. These are very loose translations are most places will have a variation of sorts.

Given that I like spice-- i shoot for shui zhu rou pian, na zi gi (or chong qing gi), and plenty of dou fu and bo zi/dou miao to wash it all down.

And yes, dim sum makes very a dependable and cheap food... I usually live on bao zi (pork steamed buns) for lunch, but not jiao zi (dumplings) as the southerners can't make very good traditional jiao zi usually.

DM, I did get a couple of good pics of the twins, but getting decent nudie pics was difficult this trip overall. Chinese gals seem to be the shyest of the bunch. MX took us to a 2nd Hunan restauarant that was very good. Dongguan, based on what the ISG guys mentioned, has a bunch of restuarants good eateries. Kept bypassing their invites for STs.

Crazier, I suspect my gal did indeed have a HK guy txt her while we were in the van. Kind of bad manners nevertheless to abruptly bail like that on a customer. Saw the same gal a couple of times afterwards at the same BBS and she had the nerve to come over to where I was sitting to try to get picked again. Good leting her know I didn't want her.

While we're on the subject: Does anyone know a strategy for ordering chicken in CP without them presenting it to you with the chicken head staring up at you from the plate? Somehow living through that experience cured me of any residual uneasiness I previously had about being served fish with their heads still attached!

Well if you order fish, you can usually expect the head to be attached, esp. if it is braised or steamed.

Very few dishes have a chicken head on tho. You want to order stir fried dishes -- chao (third tone). since the meat is nearly always sliced or diced (diced: ding (second tone) and sliced: pian (4th). Personally I like very thinly sliced meats stir fried meats. However as with most things in china, it is best if you know what you want and can articulate it to the waiter. The last thing you want to do is go and ask, "what's good?"

I must have just been lucky then. Actually, while the head and neck were on the plate, they had apparently been guillotined from the rest of the body although conveniently placed so as to appear (forgetting about the guillotine) to be part of the same body.

Incidentally, the girl I was with that night did the ordering; I suppose that is equivalent to asking "what's good?" My only verbal communication of any consequence was via my electronic talking translator, which I suspect sometimes has a mind of its own.

If you specifically don't want to see the chicken head, just tell the waiter to make sure they leave it out! Of course, you need to speak mandarin or whatever local dailect. You know what, some people actually delight in eating the head and the "other end", now, that is a real delicacy to many. At a table for 10, some diners actually rush for it!

The last time I ate at that Hunan restaurant, it was GREAT. And in reverse, it was bad at the smaller place that you went the next day with Mx. Most restaurants are pretty consistent but, sometimes, you can be out of luck.

Hunan food is pretty spicy and then, eating with shared dishes on a table meant for 10 people can be unnerving if you are not accustomed to that habit.

Italian food in CP!!!! With so much that Chinese cuisine has to offer, why would anyone going to China even step into one? Yes, I understand, not all mongers travel well with local food and peculiarities.

Guys, Great report and follow ups! I've been to CP 2 times in the past year and agree that it is a fantastic mongering destination. The biggest issue for me, and it's common in a lot of China, is language.
However, the range of options surely outweighs the downside!
I sometimes like a 'down and dirty' experience and have searched for the infamous Catacombs but have not been able to find it!! Can anyone provide some directions? I stay at the Hui Mei and tend to source BBS/minivan girls and also frequent the Virgin Sauna. Hotels and girls always great value IMHO.

I would never have found the catacombs, if it weren't for ISG vets taking me there. Here's how to get there: From Hui Mei or Miraton Hotel, cross the big Blvd (dodging cars) and get to the front of the Walter Hotel. Adjacent to the left of Walter (Facing Walter or East) on the leftside, is an alley. Enter the alley (passing shops) and in about 5-10 minutes you will see a large public pool (emptied) on your right. On the east side of the pool, there is an adjacent alley, hang a right. Walk about 20-30 yds, and you will see on your left, a little plaza with a Ping Pong Table w/scruffy looking dudes. Head towards the ping pong table and pass it and you will be faced with a mazelike series of alley, cul-de-sacs, etc -- gals will be all around this area in the alleys, crevices, houses. It'll take a good 15-20 minutes to explore this area. There are intimidating looking young dudes (sentries), but they've never given us any problems. I'd go with a friend or two.

If the gals notice you are not a local, they will definitely try to hit you up for 100 rmbs ($13US). 30 rmbs ($4US) is what they charge locals). Like TJ, you will get a knock on the door in 20 minutes. Straight sex (no bbj) and the rooms are filthy and dark. But every time I've gone here, I've always seen a few cuties.
