Woke up in the afternoon yesterday after a couple hours of sleep. Met up with my friends and ended up a mall for some shopping. There are tons and tons of hot women in Porto Alegre. The guys keep telling me POA has the hottest women in Brazil (I think they are biased cause they live there but have to agree the women are hot). I swear I'm going to injure my neck as I constantly kept switching directions checking out the 9's and 10's. Went into a couple of stores and observed the sales girls are very cool and casual and chatted us up and pointed us to different stores and flirted just as aggressively. I realized within 20 minutes, we were not going to get any shopping done at this rate (I know we suck. Everytime we saw a hot sale's girl or a bunch of hot girls checking out stuff, we went in immediately. Freakin pack hunting!!!! Sigh!). The hottest women in the mall, worked at the surfing stores. We went in and I made a beeline for the girl handling shades and had to call one of the guys to translate (This is getting to be a freakin drag). Ended up picking Mormaii glasses which is the "in fashion" thing in Brazil for R400 (The glasses start at R200 and top of the line one finishes at R1800.. Yikes). While I was waiting for the other guys to finish up (buggers were happily flirting with a couple of sales girls, trying tons of stuff) used my buddy as a translator and found out the girls name was Isadora and she's 20 and planning to go to Australia to learn English for a year (Apparently Australia is the popular choice at the moment and its a status thing). So I ended up telling her all the places to visit, events to check out and gave her a couple of my friends numbers in Melbourne and Sydney (They are going to owe me big time for this if they hook up and I intend to collect with interest). Ended up finally at the counter and the cashier was knockout. Italian mix whose name I gave up trying to pronounce and boy did I ever take my time looking for my credit card and passport. She was a 11/10, off the scale and can easily be a top model. She spoke a bit of English and figured out she spoke German and finally I was able to talk with a girl without a translator (I had to stop myself from doing a victory dance!!!). I'll say this much for the girls in Brazil, they are pretty laid back, social and flirt back just as aggressively. Plus I quickly learnt they have no qualms of touching, rubbing your hands, chest, of kissing on the cheek. I had a hard time figuring out where the fine line was this, before the girls would get upset that I had gone too far. A good rule of thumb, do what they do and watch what others are doing and don't try everything! The guys finally got their stuff and asked the girls out for lunch as they were coming up for a break. We ended up a local brazilian barbeque, the staff were dressed in the local Gaucha (hope I got it right) costumes and place could easily hold 200-300 people. Ended up drinking the local drink which was alcohol made from sugarcane extract and sliced lemons. Chicken hearts seem to be the delicacy there and every one got tons of it from the guy coming around with the skewers. The beef was the best. Ended up with Isadora and the italian girl waking me through various dishes and they ended up feeding me stuff I was reluctant to try and all of us got hammered on alcohol. The girls called back work and it was a very slow day for them and manager said ok for them to take the afternoon off. We all ended up back in my suite to chill out for a bit. 2 of girls immediately went into jacuzzi as soon as they saw and it was funny watching 2 of buddies trying to squeeze in with them. Isadora, the italian girl and myself ended up dancing to the music on some spanish channel and things got frisky. The italian girl went away to get some alcohol and my other buddy and his girl disappeared. For the next half an hour I learnt a few things on just how sensual Brazilian women can get and what they like. The Italian girl came up with the booze and accused me of not having any patience what so ever, a smack on the head and joined in. Lots of foreplay but decided to hold till later in the evening and called the guys and suggested we go out and party.

The one buddy who disappeared didn't show up again so the seven of us made plans to meet up at 8:00pm at my suite and leave together. The girls wanted to go home and get ready and I ended up packing a small bag with a change of clothes and left with the Italian girl to her place. She was driving a Ninja ZX11 and I basically closed my eyes and held on tightly. I have to point out the obvious to her at a later time that she needs to respect the laws of physics and it doesn't work the other way round. She had a nice place and she went to have a shower. Like a complete fucking dolt (I blame the damn alcohol), I was bumming around until she showed up naked in the living room and asked me if I need a red carpet laid out with some chorus girls singing or was I going to take the hint. One look at this 6ft Italian girl, perfect body, 34B chest, the never ending legs, curvy ass, the tan lines and the piercings, and I literally tore off my shirt and jumped out of my pants and ran in to join her. Spent the hour in the shower with her and tried a few standing up positions. I should have seriously paid attention to the Kama Sutra when I tried to read it years ago. We had to get out of the shower and we ended up in her bedroom till it was time to get ready. She loved anal on her back and I happily obliged with our lips locked the whole time. One thing to note, very quickly your face is going to be covered in cinnamon and zambooka. Everyone else ended up in a similar variation and the bartender though it was novel and gave any couple a free round to encourage it. Then we moved to another club for dancing and naturally girls were the focus of attention. As I quickly learnt it wasn't the same as back home, where girls form the unpenatrable ring of hot women and dance with each other only. Not here and we all ended up dancing with other for a quite some time. Finally decided to head back to the hotel and asked one of my buddies and his girl to head back with Isadora, Italian girl and myself to the hotel, as I had a 2 bedroom suite, was tipsy and needed a wingman just in case. I have no idea what happened to Veronika (I had every intention of playing with her breasts but alas with all the alcohol and dancing I don't know when she left). We piled into Isadora's pickup, stopped by for some coffee and allow for some of the alcohol affects to wear off and then made it back to the hotel. I ended up with Isadora in the jacuzzi and my buddy ended up with the 2 women in one of the rooms. I knew Isadora was hot, but when her clothes came off I was surprised. Argued back and forth and finally settled on a fine R70 as there were 5 people in my suite. I gave up, cleared my bill and left before I got angry. I'm not staying at Holiday Inn in POA.. period!

Ended up shopping for shoes as they had some good styles and got Isadora to try out new bikinis at other stores. They had some very interesting styles and I ended up calling couple of girls I knew in TO and MLT to get their size and picked up plenty of bikinis for them. Isadora sweet talked the sales girl to give a store discount and she would do the same for her at her store. It ended being a 25% discount. Ultimately left the mall with R180 spent on shoes and R600 spent on bikinis for girls including Isadora (I hope my plan works for more TnA when I get back to Toronto). Dropped by the surf store as I wanted to snog the Italian girl again and we ended up in the change room for a quickie but alas no joy from my side. Took the hint, got her off and left for the airport with Isadora. Things I didn't do in POA

1. Didn't do any of the tourist stuff, got no pictures of the city nor a look at the city which is a shame.

Putting a couple things in context

By now its fairly obvious I prefer group fun vs just 1 on 1 and from my experiences and observation, group play is fairly big in Brazil and couples scene from what I am told is even bigger. So for any newbie's to group play who play, here are some golden rules

1. Regardless of what you want as a guy, the girl always chooses the time, place and the other girl(s). Even if you are paying its better to get one the girl recommends and is comfortable with (I gave up trying to understand this a long time go and use it as my maxim). It simply wouldn't occur if Isadora and her friends weren't cool with it and wanted to try new things. Its always tough to find girls like this.
2. If you want to participate in group fun, only go with guys and girls who are comfortable with and are not going to be bothered if your girl swap with your buddy(s) girl. This is something you to need to give serious thought about. My buddy and I have been doing this for a while and started swapping girls as roommates in University and we have a clear understanding on whats acceptable when we are in group situation. Never ever assume anything and ask the silly question. It took me several years to get comfortable with it, so take your time and try to get partners who will mentor you. The girls are just as curious to try new things and there a fair bit of blind trust involved. Get into the scene slowly and take your time. Start by going to regular swing clubs in your area and learn the ropes.
3. As a rule I never overtly mention for a 3 way and choose to steer the conversation and see if piques the girls interest. Even though I suggested we go back to my suite to chill after lunch and after clubbing, it was basically Isadoa, the Italian girl and my buddy's girl agreeing and running the show.
4. Now I am fairly confident with my experiences within the last 3 days, that brazilian woman love to have fun, sex, are very social, flirt back just as aggressively, have no hang ups with chatting them up (within reason) and are very sensual by nature. I can also say I still havn't figured out all the nuances in the brazilian culture. I'm simply flying with past experiences and watching what others are doing and trying things I am comfortable with.
5. I got seriously lucky going as a group with my buddies and I'm convinced its better as a group than trying all this single. People will disagree with me on this and that's fine. I'm going to find out being solo for the next 9 days in SP.
6. I'm done whining about knowing some portuguese. I'm sold on the fact the its completely different if one knows portuguese. I booked for classes online while sitting in the airport waiting for my SP flight.
7. The brazilians that I have interacted have gone out of thier way to accomodate my lack of portuguese skills, helped me out and have been generally warm and kind. As much as it pains me to say this, we need to park out attitudes and don a mask when we travel from North America to Brazil. IMHO you don't want to miss the hospitality that Brazilians have to offer.
8. Its too damn easy to fall for a girl(s) in Brazil, so have your system to deal with it.
9. To all newbies, all the senior member have indicated in many posts in many ways that newbies need to take a comfortable pace. It's very hard to stop when you're having fun, so be prepared to crash and deal with it. I'm still angry having left POA cause I know what I will be missing as my buddies and the girls have every intention of meeting up again and I wont be there! Sigh! Sometimes it blows when you you instigate things and everyone else ends up having more fun!
10. copperfieldkid was bang on when he warned me Brazil will change me and I bow down in humility as I am fallen for Brazil hook, line and sinker.

I'm going to spend the weekend sleeping, giving my body a chance to recover and let all the stuff that has happened in 3 days sink in and appreciate it. To other newbies "find your thing and take a step back to appreciate things when U get a chance when you're having more fun than your wildest dreams"


I would appreciate it, if veterans in the group scene can provide some golden nuggets for newbies to group scene out of country and Brazil in particular.

Just a typical evening in POA, right? I love the place. And I agree with your Brasilian friends that RGS has the most beautiful women in Brasil.

So which mall were you in? I have a "friend" of German ancestry who works at the "Tropical Brasil" surf shop in Moinhos Shopping. She is incredibly hot. I'm actually wearing the sweatshirt ("Tropical Brasil: Surf é a Nossa Praia") she gave me right now.

You really didn't miss anything by not going to the beaches. Missing out on the saunas and the local sites is something you'll remedy next time. Now that you've been there, a next time is a certainty.

Bwana_dik is the king in POA and he can give a longer version of the days in POA. In general, I think its very much like SP with weekdays and in particular tuesday, wednesday and thursday seem to be the best days. I don't think weekends are the best days for fun. From what I have been told and seen, on the weekends the teens take over, and if you're into 18 and 19 year olds, then you should be fine. Most locals seem to avoid the weekend because of the teens .... too much noise and rowdy behavior...

Thanks for posting a POA report! It's appreciated. I'm going to live there for the better part of a year starting next fall, and am happy for the information and will hopefully add my own experiences next year.

Assuming this report is true, I take it you're a young, good looking, charismatic guy. I'm in my mid-30s, average looks and personality, and I've had some interesting experiences in Colombia (and I've seen people make out within 60-90 minutes of knowing each other, and that's WITHOUT loud music or alcohol to help the process!) but I've never seen or experienced anything that fast. Damn!

Hard to reconcile with another report I read about POA in another board, where the monger had his choice WALK OUT ON HIM in the apartment because the 400 reals they had previously agreed on. . . she then decided was not enough when he tried to take some extra pics. His report warned of high prices and cold attitudes. . . at least with the pros in the boates he checked out in POA.

Looks like non-pros are a whole other story, although I thought guys needed solid language skills, which you don't seem to have either.

You missed a couple of things in the report and some your impressions related to Brazil are not accurate. I was with my friends (we went to University together and one of them was my roommate) who are Brazilians and live in POA. As I pointed out in the report, I was using my buddies as translators for most of the time. I am in my twenties, good looking and charismatic and so are my friends. Even with the language barrier, it didn't stop me from flirting and having a good time and trying to hookup (which appeals to women in most cases especially since I don't speak the language. This of course would not work in other places. I tried this in my younger days in France, and unless I spoke French I had a very hard time hooking up).

Non pro's are a completely different ball game and requires a completely different approach. I would never bother trying this in Toronto as the culture and attitude of women is different and requires a different approach. In Brazil the women are fairly laid back, easily approachable and they flirt back just as aggressively. By the way, nothing happened quickly here. We spent a fair bit of time chatting and flirting with them and took a chance and asked them out for lunch and let things play out. We all got along very well, clicked and there was attraction from both sides. This was by no means a planned event. We went with the flow and took chances to see if we could lucky and the girls were just as interested and wanted to have fun (wouldn't have worked if the girls wern't interested).

torpedo, I don't care if you believe what I have written or not, but I think you selling yourself very short and not paying attention to Brazilian culture or the realities here. For example in places like Sao Paulo and Porto Alegre, the ratio of women to men is 7:1 ( I got this from my tour guide who is woman and she was explaining to me how hard it is for her daughters to settle down as there are not too many guys around for the choosing) and to increase that, places like Sao Paulo has a significant gay community which reduces the number of men in the pool. When you don't have the language skills, hang around people who do and have the same attitude. Plus as I have noticed, people in Brazil go out and have fun in groups and not singles, which is another reason I went in POA with my friends and not alone. Even without the language skills, Brazilian people will generally put in effort to help you out if you ask for help. So what if one person won't help me, I keep trying and others do. The key thing is to figure out the local attitudes and use it to your advantage keep. Every time I go out to eat, I always end up asking girls in the canteen/restaurant for help about the local food, and they are happy to help and curious to know about me and chat me up. If I asked them to help me order a hamburger I wouldn't get anywhere.

Being in your mid-30s, with average looks and personality is not a problem. Its only as issue if you don't use the aforementioned information in context and to your advantage. I really don't understand why you consider women of different countries or cultures to have the same attitude. I have repeatedly said in my 3 reports and given attention to the attitude, culture and what I could figure out about the nuances to Brazil and the its women.

Working girls/women are a different beast all together. From the start they have the advantage as they have what we want and we are willing to pay for it. This is the negotiating tool we have and requires a degree of skill and information. I got screwed on my first encounter as one of the members pointed out that the money I paid was by the hour and not what I thought. When I went to Carmen's in POA I let my buddies talk to the girls and negotiate for me as they are locals and can do it more effectively than I could and I as out of my element.

My intention is not to take a piss on your information. I just want to point out certain things because I don't buy for a single minute, that just because you're in your mid 30s, average looks and personality, it will stop you from having fun (my biased opinion in any case). I can't tell you what will work for you, but with the information on the board and knowledge you can gather from the locals, you can easily with trail/error take advantange of the local scene.

Hi alwaystnatime. No need to get all defensive. I was actually hoping your report was true. I've been thinking about making a trip to Rio in May/June 08 and maybe combining it with POA for a few days.

Actually, I've been to Colombia several times and there are some similarities. I've even heard the same thing about the 7:1 female to male ratio in Bogota. That's an exaggeration, but there are lots of single pretty girls in Colombia, no doubt about it. I'm sure Porto is similar.

Yep, I misunderstood the part about your friends being locals. That must have been the key, because they would know instinctively how to get into those girl's pants, haha!

I've had similar success with a local wingman in Medellin, just that it took longer. I didn't go "all the way" the very first day although I'm sure it's possible.

The reason why I keep putting off a trip to Brazil is because I know Spanish fluently, so Colombia is easier to handle. If I do this RIO/POA trip, I'll have to hit the Pimsleur CDs intensely, and try to make contacts via the online dating channels.

Not sure about how to recruit local wingmen though, which is too bad because it's obviously a TREMENDOUS advantage!

I agree about group outings. Works the exact same way in Colombia. A group of say 6 people is more fun, plus it brings the girls' guard down, then it's natural how people tend to split off in pairs, or trios in your case.

I wouldn't recommend a newbie to go to POA, hit Rio or Sampa a few times first. Your Spanish will be of very limited help in Brasil and I met pretty much no one in POA who spoke a word of English. While I think it's a very nice town I wouldn't go there on a first trip at all.

catocony is right about POA. I wouldn't recommend it for a first time and if you're gonna be there by yourself. It wasn't on my list initially until I found out all my friends were in town and not travelling on work. The women in POA are beautiful to a degree I agree they are probably the hottest I have seen till date in Brazil. Rio and SP is where you want to start your mongering in Brazil.

I don't know about Rio's population of women to men ratio, but in SP I'm very inclined to believe it. After my tour guide told me about that, I asked the hotel staff (male and female) about it and they agree with the 6-7:1 ratio. From my observations, of going to the malls, movies, hanging around agusta, bakeries for breakfast et al, there is a marked difference in the number of women to men. May not be as high as 87% but its close. Last night I went on a date (my birthday) and ended up in a posh restaurant called "a figueira rubaiyat" and I actually counted and the ratio at the restaurant was 9:1. In Sao Paulo, there is a disproportion of men to women for sure. Right now I believe the SP is the place for pro/non-pro and I'm seriously rethinking about going to Rio (leave it to next time) as the advantage in SP as a single young guy is huge.

That 7:1 myth gets thrown around a bit. It's preposterous. The ratio is more like 51-49.

Thanks guys. I'll stick to Rio then. I've only got 11 to 12 days max anyway, and I will probably not make a return trip for a long time, will likely go back to Colombia after Brazil. So I'll miss out on the legendary beauties of POA, but with limited time, it makes sense to maximize the fun by sticking with the areas that are a surer thing. . .

12 days will go by extremely quickly in Rio, you'll find you won't make it to even a quarter of the places you are planning too. It takes a long time to put a dent in the GdP options in Rio.

If you were truly good-looking, you wouldnt need to go to Rio to bang girls. Plenty of them you could do for free in the USA, including Brazilian girls. Sure, you can find non-pros in Brazil but you can find stunning non-pros without the attitude in the USA if you are as good-looking as you say you are. Go down to any modeling agency and half of their models are Brazilian these days.

I am having a good chuckle with your comments. I don't need a hooker to tell I am good looking or not, and its immaterial if they did. I just turned 30 on the 27th and compared to plenty of people on the board I'm a young pup and have a lot to learn. I'll concede on that point. However, I think you're being very silly when you make a comment to the affect if you're good looking you don't need to monger in Brazil. Is it your opinion that all the people who go mongering in Brazil are ugly or something or lack any skills with women? Give me a break! Just reading various posts on the board and the general attitudes of people in their posts, its very clear there is a mixture of people and quite a few of whom are mongering and don't have a problem with non pro's either and can charm the daylights out of any women. On this point we will always disagree blazers.

You're right about picking up non pro's in the USA where I have spent time, and I have no problems either in Toronto my home town or Montreal where I party all the time. However, I do not agree that all women are the same! In my biased opinion there is huge difference in attitude and behavior of women pro/non-pro in different countries which makes it very exciting and fun (thats one of the appeals for me). So far I been to places where other board members have been in Brazil, tried things that are not available in my home city or things I'd never ventured to and met up with non pros and go on dates like the locals do and I'm having fun in Brazil. I don't think I would be having this much fun if I had closed my mind on the different possibilities in Brazil. That's why I like Colombia. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the states. You just took it to a whole new level when you were drilling that girl's azz within the very first day of meeting her. Colombia is similar in many ways but not with anal sex. It's not that common there, either with pros or non-pros.

Torpedo, I don't think being in your mid thirties puts you at the limit, especially in Colombia.
I was recenlty in Cali and hung out with a group of guys, youngest in his early twenties, oldest in his late forties (me also mid thirties), and would say we all did equally well with the non pros.
