A Collection of Thoughts and Anecdotes
It's All Available: I think pretty much any perversion within legal and social acceptability can be fulfilled in the LOS. In my trip, I had two different three ways, a four way (three girls and I…no other dudes involved!), anal, BBBJTC, one request to be tied up, and one girl who bit me so hard during sex that I bled. I'm sure with that I was merely scratching the surface of what can be had.
Making Friends with Other CH Members: I got to hang out for a couple of days with our esteemed contemporary Av8tr. He is a top-class gentleman and photographer. I really enjoyed navigating the Pattaya scene with him, learning from his previous experience, and in general the camaraderie of a really nice person.
Making Friends with Other Mongers: The vast majority of mongers were non-Americans, which I thought made things more interesting and colorful. I find the British and Australians in general to be very warm, friendly and colorful people…even if they do prefer that brand of football where the guys are always falling to the ground and rolling around with a vagina injury, or whatever the hell else is wrong with them.
OK, Let's Not Get Too Friendly: On the other hand, I ran into a couple of people who I found to be some combination of unsavory, creepy and annoying. One night in a go-go in Pattaya, I was chatting it up with the previous night's barfine. It was her turn to go on stage, and when she got off my lap and onto the stage, the gentleman at the next table introduced himself. He came from Wales, and asked me if that girl was my girlfriend. I told him no, but he proceeded to tell me that he thought she was pretty and that maybe it would be fun to pick another girl and go have a foursome. OK, kinda weird, but I think that I was polite enough in deflecting his request. About five minutes later the girl comes back, sits on my lap again, at which point I felt someone tickling the back of my ear. You guessed it, it was my Welch friend, who winked at me as I looked in his direction. Creepy.
Are People Actually Buying?: It took a couple of days to get used to those annoying Indian guys in Pattaya trying to sell suits. I went with the idea that I might visit a tailor and have a suit made, but after two days I decided that there was no way in hell I would do business with any of them.
Pharmaceuticals: For a long trip with multiple pops a day, I find myself able to benefit from some pharmaceutical assistance by the time the trip is over. Both real and generic Viagra and Cialis are available over the counter at most pharmacies. In Pattaya, each place I asked seemed pretty consistent on 300 Baht for a 4 pack (100 mg each) of generic Viagra, and 400 Baht for a 4 pack (20 mg each) of generic Cialis. In Bangkok, these prices are available, but most quoted me 100 - 200 baht over those amounts. I even had one guy try to charge me 800 baht for a 4 pack of generic Viagra in Bangkok. No doubt some falang is paying it.
Visiting the Dentist: I got a cleaning, a filling and a root canal done at the Dental Hospital Bangkok. Their service, hygienic standards, professionalism and costs were all great. Following is their address and contact information, with my highest recommendations:

Sometimes the girls try too hard: One night in Pattaya, I took a girl out of a beer bar. She was cute, but about 30 years old and not exactly a trophy. Her English was good though, and she seemed to like me enough to make me think that she'd be a good performer. For the most part I was right, but this girl liked to talk a lot during sex. I think someone must've told her that falangs like such things because after a couple of minutes it started to feel very contrived. At one point, we were doing doggy and she turns her head back at me and says "Ohhh…you fuck Thai lady!!!!" This, my friends, was the first time I actually stopped in the middle of a sexual encounter because I was laughing too hard to continue.
What's In a Name?: For the most part I don't remember girl's names…they were all called New, Nui, Nok, Da, Fon, Ba or something else with one syllable that likely isn't their real name anyway.
The Thai $2 Bill: Why is it so hard to come across a 50 Baht note? I found them quite useful, but largely unavailable. I even asked at two of the currency exchange windows to give me some 50 Baht bills, but neither window had any. Ind of like the $2 bill in the USA I guess…would be quite useful but none too common.
Lessons Learned:
If I choose to go back, I will hopefully have some time to learn a few Thai phrases beforehand. The same "What's your name?," "Where you from?" then "You want boom-boom?" gets boring after a while, and I'd like to see if I can at least go to level 2 of communication.
I liked Pattaya, but I got a little bit bored. I will probably spend 3 - 4 days there on my next trip, with the remainder of the time in Bangkok. I like that in Bangkok you can get away from the sights and sounds of mongerville for a while and still be stimulated and entertained by the surroundings. In Pttaya I didn't see any opportunity to do that.
I will do a better job of thinking in Baht the next time I go.
I will go back during the low season. It will be interesting to see if fewer mongers creates more of a buyer's market, or if the ambiance dissipates and the selection also dwindles. Either way I have a strange affinity for hot and humid weather, and I think I will enjoy the time.

Fabulous introduction. Looking forward to reading the whole adventure.
I agree with your take on Pattaya. If you want to drink and screw there's no better place in the world, but if you want any sort of intelectual stimulation, forget it. Next time you'll have to head up North. As for low season, I particularly enjoy the rainy season. Awesome torrential downpours.
Wishing I could be back there now

Before I started hitting the Far East I concentrated most activities in Brazil and Rio. I'd listen to vets discuss the differences and most would never say one was better than the other, they were just different. I didn't understand what that meant until I took my first trip to LOS. It indeed is two different worlds. For Me Thailand sort of grew on me. Even after my first trip it took awhile for the experience to sink in. And yeah, the Welsh guy thing was wierd, there are some unsavory characters over there.

It is interesting to read your take on Thailand. I have spent two years working on learning Spanish, and it has infinitely improved my experience each time I visit Latin America. I kind of have the same problem, the hi-how much-lets fuck-goodbye stuff gets jaded pretty quick. I guess most of us like the GFE experience, and it is easier when you can communicate

LM,
Thanks for your report. I, too, went to Thailand for the first time last November. I didn't break any new ground either and haven't had the gumption to do a write up. I didn't stay in Bangkok choosing to head straight to Pattaya as I only had a week. I fully agree with your assessment of Pattaya.
Currently I live in Mexico and I also found it more difficult to make connections with Thai girls than with the local Mexican girls I bang. Perhaps its just because I'm a surly bastard, but the bond just wasn't there. This isn't to say that Thai girls weren't a great fuck. They were! But I always felt like they were only there for the baht. (Which, of course, is EXACTLY why they are there!)
Additionally, I found Pattaya to be kind of like Cancun - there were too many fucking tourists there. I was amazed at the number of non-mongering types that I saw on Walking Street or Beach Road every day.
Like you, I'll probably go back to Thailand, but there are other places I'd rather spend my time and money.
Again, thanks for the report. It saved me from writing almost exactly the same thing!

LM,
Great report, I enjoy your articulate writing style. I can relate to what you say about venturing out to a destination where you don't speak the language. I have let myself get into the comfort zone of sticking with places where I can speak the language. It is nice to have that advantage and be able to make better connections with the girls. For that reason, I've been sticking to Central and South America but thinking of branching out as well for the next trip. I was just in your stomping grounds, Cali, last month. Planning any trips back there in the near future?

La Muerte, I had been looking forward to hearing your thoughts on your Thai trip, and I really enjoyed your trip report. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here.
I happen to agree with many of your points about Thailand. I'm personally a lot happier in the Philippines.

It was great meeting up with you. Next time we'll get you a cute little cell phone and motosai, and your Pattaya adventure will be complete;)
There really are many things to do around Pattaya besides drink and sex. I should have been more helpful, but as you know, I had to work quite a bit while there.
It sounds like you had some good luck on your return to Bkk. Glad it worked out.

Gentlemen, thank you to all who have responded. I enjoy writing my trip reports as a means of reflection, but when they are enjoyed and utilized by others it is all the more rewarding.

Great report. One thing i would suggest being an Aussie,is to watch a State of Origin game. You wont see too many vagina's on the paddock there. You might want to have a look at Patong in Phuket,we had a great time there with plenty of supply available day/night.

Interesting thoughts. During low season there are way less mongers but also less girls and the general quality of looks also falls. But prices for the girls are around 500 baht cheaper and hotels run promotions like stay 7 nights but only pay for 6. I was also in Pattaya this Christmas/New Years and stayed at the Dynasty Inn. The staff did seem unfriendly for some reason so perhaps I'll also stay at another hotel next trip.
