General BackGround:
I had been to St. Martin once before in February 2000. I was thinking about possibilities for a long Memorial Day weekend hobby locale, when I noticed an airfare reduction for St. Martin. During my previous visit I had asked the hotel manager about cheap collar season rates and he had suggested May. I went for it.
I rented a nice hotel room on Orient Bay for $112 a night. The same room had been $183 in season. Car rental rates were down a little, but not much. The weather was great. Close to 90 F with a nice sea breeze most days. There were no mosquitoes on Orient Bay, but at dusk inland they were a little annoying. No big problem.
I had been guided by the January 2000 Dutchie (TSM) report on my previous trip. Surfer’s (TSM) December 2000 update was a big help, especially with regard to the improved directions to CasaBlanca and CasaAmarilla. As he suspected the new road leading into Oyster Pond is a big benefit for accessing this area. I advise any new adventurers to St. Martin to supplement this report with the previously mentioned ones.
Quick Summary:
As stated before in earlier reports, this is not a premier monger destination. However, St. Martin can be a lot of fun and has the added benefit of being a very pleasant place to spend quality Caribbean time. There are ample night time hobby activities available and this time around I did have success with day time action as well. I like St. Martin and will return, but the hobby is a plus not a prime motivator.
Driving:
To reiterate one more time, you need a car or moped to get around. The roads are narrow and there are no shoulders and occasional drop offs of several feet. The roads are poorly lit at night and the locals walk on the side of them because there are no sidewalks. Kids or dogs can run out at any moment. Drive slowly.
The Casas:
All my hobbyist activities occurred on the Dutch side in the prime brothel area. Saint Maarten is part of the Netherland Antilles, like Curacao, and prostitution is legal. I am sure that there are activities, and probably considerably more upscale ones, available on the French side, but I did not pursue.
Defiance Hotel
My first stop was the Defiance Hotel. I got there about 9:00 on a Friday night and was surprised to see only 3 girls about. 9:00 is early by St. Martin standards, so I hung out for a bit. Several girls came out from the back and asked if I wanted company, but none caught my interest, until Marta came by. She was about a 5’6” 120 lb. Colombiana from some ciudad that was a new name to me. Cute. A solid 7, the body was an 8. Natural B+ cups on a slender chica. I bought her a drink and we talked a bit.
Turns out that the Defiance Hotel is having problems with the police. There has been a change of government and they got down on the girls because of some irregularities about their visas. The girls could work out of the bar, but could not go to the rooms in the back. You had to take them someplace else. Marta claims that they are close to working things out and that business as normal should resume in the near future. Who knows ?
Marta is cute and pleasant to talk with and says that we can do pretty much what I would like, so I decide to take her back to my hotel for 2 hours for $80. The session was a disappointment. Once we are there she doesn’t want to do this or that and the good attitude slips away. Nothing real bad, but not what I was expecting. I was a little tired from a travel day and didn’t get explicit enough before making the deal. My fault.
End of Hotel Defiance for this trip, as I saw no other girls that interested me.
Le Petite Chateau
After a morning at Orient Bay, I decided to go looking for some daytime action. I checked this place out at 3:00 on a Saturday afternoon because it was identified as a possibility for daytime action. There were 15 girls in here and I didn’t want any of them.
Surfer had panned this bar and he liked it better than I did. Lots of beef on the hoof. A few cute jovenes, but I tend to avoid those as they are just not my thing. I had a coke (got a weird look when I asked for a diet coke) and split before something stupid happened.
Seamens Club
Driving back from the above bar I noticed a few cars in the lot at the Seamens Club, so I decided to stop in a check things out. About 8 girls ranging from 5s to 7s. All Colombianas. I talked a while for with one girl, but didn’t get a good feeling about her. She was nice enough, but seemed a little too business like.
About that time a flaquita with a cute face came in and gave me a warm smile. Angela from Bogota turned out to be the high point of my trip. We talked for a while. We agreed to go to her room in the back for $40. The session was very unrushed and borderline GF action. As I was enjoying her company, I decided to renegotiate the deal. I ended up staying over an hour with her and it was just what I was looking for. I gave her $80 and made arrangements to meet her again later on that night. I visited her 4 times on this trip and she lived up to expectations every time. She was the type of girl who took pride in making sure you felt satisfied. They don’t make nearly enough of them like this. A beauty, no, but a real nice women to spend some time with.
CasaBlanca
Stopped by about 9:30 on a Sunday night. It was a little slow, but by 10:30 it was picking up. The girls appeared to be all Dominicans and ranged from a few 5s to a few 8s. There were about 20 of them coming and going. I met up with a 6.5 C cup from Santo Domingo and went short time with her for $40. It was a decent time, but nothing noteworthy.
Basically, this place is fun, but a little more in your face than Seamens. There are better looking girls here, but they pressure you a little more and it’s loud to a fault in the bar. All in all a decent hooker bar, but I didn’t take the time to get to know it real well. There is also day time action available here.
CasaAmarilla
Didn’t get there.
Odds and Ends
With the Hotel Defiance experiencing operating problems, Seamens and CasaBlanca are the best of the remaining casas. I liked Seamens better as it was a little more relaxed and had Colombianas, which I prefer to Dominicanas. This is a personal preference, as I find them to be easier to talk to and more likely to have an enjoyable time with. Whatever.
If you are new to St. Martin, I would advise you to do a dry run of finding the casas during the day. They can be a little difficult to find for the first time at night. The directions in Surfer’s report are very good.

you must enjoy the good life - i went there many years ago for some diving and it's a pricey little island. Your report brought back some nice memories.

It's a pleasant place Jaime. It's cheaper for sure off season. I'll probably make it my regular Memorial Day run, unless I can figure out how to get back and forth to Cartagena without burning two vacation days.
