Medellin has great sites to see and there is certainly a lot to see and do in the city and the surrounding country site. I felt completely safe using the metro and taking taxies to explore the city on my own and also with Alvero. One of my favorite spots in the city is the Plazoleta de las Esculturas. It's a nice plaza in central Medellin with an historic cathedral, a famous museum which houses a fantastic collection of Fernando Botero paintings and the plaza is full of his very unique statues. I went away from Colombia with Botero as my new favorite artist.
I then walked around the streets by the plaza and took these photos of a typical street scene. Great eye candy to watch walk by in this country.
Later that day Alvero and I started visiting some of the many casa's in the city. These are small apartment type places with a few rooms and a main lobby area. You go in and the head mama sits you down and offers you a drink. Then neat part happens next. The girls come in one at a time and introduce themselves to you. The are wearing a sexy cover which they open up to revel bra and panties, sexy lingerie, etc and pose for you, do a 360 while they say their name and then say "permiso." So we head over to Energy but they were having a bad day and I didn't see anything I liked there. We stopped at another place (forget the name, sorry) and here the selection was a lot better. I will stop here for a moment just to say that I prefer an "experience" as opposed to an 'event." This is why I like the venues in Rio better. I can take my time getting to know a girl (at a Terma or Help) where at these casas you pick the girl and she takes you right back to the room and boom you're into the event. Anyway I sit and enjoy the "line up" about 6 of them come through one at a time. You need to memorize their names or write done the names of the girls you like cause you can forget which one is which. I needed to call a couple of them back for a second view. I ended up picking Victoria. I think she told me she was 20 years old and had a great pair of tits. Unfortunately she wouldn't let me take a picture of her topless. (Editorial: I have noticed from this trip and my second trip to Rio in 2007 that it's becoming more difficult to get the girls to let you take pictures of them naked.) So Sandra and I head back to a room for an hour at the cost of 100k. The sex was good, a decent GFE with DFK, DATY, and all positions. She gave a CBJ (saw more of this in Colombia which I never would tolerate this in Rio. With many of the Colombian girls I was with in the Casa's this seemed to be none negotiable). Victoria also was softly saying Rico as I was eating her. Now I'm thinking no way two girls could be that confused about my name. So as Alvero and I are leaving the casa I ask him what the hell Rico means. He laughed and said it translates into something like excellent, wonderful, heaven feeling. Okay….I'm feeling better now about being called Rico.

One evening Aussie Greg took all of the guests to Mango's. This is a great country western theme disco. No pros here from what I could see but they put on a great dance show and the dancers are quite hot and with bodies that go into next week. It's a great place to have some drinks and Paisa watch.
A couple of great out of the city trips were to the small colonial town of Santa Fe Antioquia. The town is very interesting to see and there is a large river to see. The girls in this town were very friendly and easy to talk too. Alvero was able to get me a couple of phone numbers but I wasn't staying overnight in this town so the numbers weren't really gonna do me any good. Here are some photos of the town and a couple of girls who gave us their numbers.
Another great day trip is to a monolith called El Penol. It was here that the ground work was laid for what would turn out to be my only non-pro action in Colombia. While I was in Medellin I met another gringo through Alvero who was there buying an apartment, so the three of us took these day trips together. So off we go to El Penol. So before I climb the 649 steps to the top I'm taking some pictures of the valley below. I run into a group of college age girls visiting from Bucaramanga. I don't think they had meet an American male before or maybe it was just my French-Irish charm but they asked me to take a picture of them together and then they all wanted to take pictures of me with them. So being the older fart that I am I was of course quite flattered with the attention. After the photo sessions and much giggling we said good-bye and that was the last I thought of it.
Anyway I begin my climb and after 649 excruciating steps and what I'm sure was a mini heart attack I reach the top and the observation deck. The view is absolutely fantastic and well worth the climb. But who to my surprise do I find sitting up there drinking sodas but my group of new friends.
So we're talking with them and they're laughing complaining that Medellin men don't seem to like to dance and why is that? Apparently they had gone to some lower end dance clubs but found that the men just sat there. So I told Alvero to ask them if they wanted to go dancing that evening. Well it turns out that this was their last night in Medellin before returning home and they were excited about the idea of going dancing with us. So I got a couple of phone numbers and told them we'd call them a bit later to arrange things. As you can tell from the photos these are your average "the girl next door" kinda regular type good girls.

Before leaving El Penol the Alvero myself and the other guy stopped at a restaurant adjacent to a hotel called Hosteria Los Recuerdos for a late lunch. The steaks were tender and favorable. This had been my experience throughout Colombia with its food. Always delicious and very reasonably priced. My meal with steak, potatoes and salad ran about 15K.
