The electricity came back on at about 7 pm and I was off to find something to eat at Monseratte. An older girl whom I had spoke to before at length brought her sister and sis was incredible. Older sis told me that I might be stranded for a while...this got me a little scared. I took little sis with me to Turquino and had to leave big sis at the bar but left some money for drinks and car fare (at lil' sis' suggestion).
We were completely connected at the bar and very attracted to each other. An hour later, I was eating her papaya in my room and the electricity went off. After multiple sessions, I called the airlines to find out that my flight would be cancelled and that they would place me on a flight when the weather was better. The next day was spent with this girl as she did not want to go out in this weather and her house had water leaks all over the place. We had some great conversations about how poor Cuba is and politics but she always whispered when talking about Cuba politics....
The next day, my flight was rescheduled to DF but I waited for about 6 hours at the aiport before the plane finally left. The immigration officer asked me a battery of questions on my way out and I was getting a little nervous. He asked his supervisor over because my boarding pass did not list the flight number..the supervisor started jabbering a hundred miles an hour in Spanish and seemed pissed. He made me go back to a huge line to get a new boarding pass when my flight was already boarding. I just took the same pass and wrote in the flight number and went to a different line...I was nervous that I was going to be stuck in Cuba. The line was slow and the man in the line just stamped my card and I sprinted to my boarding gate...I barely made it. In addition, on the way back the plane stopped in Guadalajara. Havana-DF-GDL-TJ....what a long, strange trip.....

Blazers,
the hurricane you're talking about is the one that hit southern Mexico hard about a month ago, right?

When exactly were you there? A hurricane hit the Pacific coast of Mexico a month ago, and one hit Cuba, mexico, USA two months ago. If it was the latter, I was flying over Cuba on my return trip from Rio/BA's at night and I could see the violent thunderstorms below.

It was the one that started in Cuba and hit Pinar del Rio and then proceeded to the Yucatan peninsula only to pick up more steam and head the U.S.
