returned from my virgin Asian trip to Bangkok, Pattaya, and Jakarta. Let me start with saying that I am not an avid trip report writer so I'll do my best. I have been wanting to make this trip for sometime but the long flight was always the reason not to go. Well, I am glad I bit the bullet!

To begin with, I have no pics to share. My #@$@$ Digital Camera broke the second day into the trip. Being the completely cheap idiot that I am, I did not want to splurge on a new one...I did buy a disposable camera, but still have not developed the pictures. I'll get to it eventually.

My first night was in Bangkok and I stayed at the Adelphia Suite on Soi 8. Great hotel and in the middle of the action between Soy 4 and Soi Cowboy. I was very pleased with the hotel, especially after they upgraded me to a suite for no extra charge. Rate for the night was 2900BHT. Spent the evening bar hopping at Soi 4 but was caught by surprise with the early closing hour of 1:00am on the nose! Ended up grabbing one of the tons of girls streaming out the club and we agreed on 2000 LT. Great session, both evening and morning.

Checked out the hotel at noon, as I had a flight that afternoon to Jakarta. After a quick BJ at Lólita's Bar I was all set to go with a happy face.

Jakarta was a great, especially with two excellent wingmen: Wicked Willy and MongerX. Both great guys who gave me the grand tour...Hotel Travel, CJ's, Block M, and many other places in between. Wow! Sessions were great, beautiful girls at reasonable prices. Wicked Willy helped me book into the Novetel hotel and with another streak of luck I got upgraded into another suite at less then $60 a night after they did not have my original room available (they first offered me two single beds - yuck).

A couple of nights into my stay I also checked out the Sands nightclub, right by the Novetel Hotel to check out some regular action. Wow, another great night as girls swarmed me pretty much as soon as I entered. The one I met 10 minutes into my entry into the Sands club supplemented my day and early evening action for three subsequent nights. The Sands club confused me a little at first, are these regulars girls, working girls???? Mix...well, my girl ended up asking for a little help with her rent after we spent the nights together. All I had in my wallet was 300K, which averaged out to 100K a day. Quite a deal.

Hotel Travel was quite a place, a big nice place with tons of beautiful girls and very nice and clean rooms. Having been accustomed to Brazil, the standard room looked like a suite to me.

CJ's - Wow! Beautiful girls, beautiful place, inside a 5 star hotel that compares to a Ritz Carlton....I do not have mongering to report here, as I tend to stay on the budget side and after having been told prices ranged up from 600K to 1.0mm I ended up just looking. Not really expensive, but why spend double or triple on something that can be had for less....at least from my perspective. I am sure that some of you might disagree after seeing the girls there. So far I had not been disappointed with the 300K range! The other downside for me was that drinks here were very expensive!

Block M ended up being one of my favorite places. I like the laid back, hang-out atmosphere, and more reasonable price drinks compared to the upper scale places. Wicked Willy introduced me to this place on my first night in Jakarta and we had an awesome time hanging out with some girls in a place which I think was called Bar M. It had a Nightclub atmosphere and great music. On subsequent days returned here twice and picked up some nice hotties for around 300K for all nighters. In between played pool, drank, and just overall had a great time.

We hit a number of other places during my time in Jakarta and I always left happy!

I ended up liking Jakarta so much that I ended up staying for two extra days before returning back to Bangkok. With most sessions averaging $300K (about $33 USD) it was a win-win situation.

Jakarta certainly does not have a tourist feel and in the area of the Novetel I often felt like an alien from outer space when I walked through the street and mall, often being the only westerner. Probably half the attention stemmed from the fact I was most likely the tallest person in all of Indonesia. But, wow the people are so friendly......In my opinion some of the friendliest people have encountered on my many travels. I did get shaken down by the police once for not carrying a passport. After a little negotiating (which was coordinated by the girl I met in Sands), the fine was a whopping 100K ($11.00 USD). Did not sweat this too much. This occurred to an excursion to CJ's.

Again, thank you to both Wicked Willy and MongerX - Not sure how I would have found half the places we went to.

To finish my trip, I traveled back to Bangkok where I stayed two nights at the Omni Hotel Residence Suites. Again, I got upgraded....great trend!!!

My first night back in Bangkok I planned my night a little better and ended up with a girl from Rainbow 1. This one actually felt more like she picked me, was all over me, and complimenting me like crazy, having her friends check me out, etc.....Yes, I know this is all a fantasy but she did come through for me and made me very happy. Initially I was not going to pick her, but she ended up giving me an incredibly good (at least that is what I thought) price of 1000BHT + bar fine for all night. This was the straight out non-negotiated price!

My second day in BKK, headed back to the BJ bar (the girl was fantastic....I repeated three times), Soi Cowboy, and all the places. Great time, but I was now ready for the next leg of the journey - Pattaya.

I loved Pattaya! Fits right into my personality with countless bars and girls, girls, girls. Since I am drinker and just plain old like getting drunk on vacations this was the place for me! While bars supposed to close at 2:00am, most ended up staying open until almost 3:00am....which certainly beat the crazy 1:00am close time in BKK.

Stayed at the Pattaya Bay Resort. The rate was 1300BHT and I stayed two nights. The room was comfortable, very clean, with a king size bed, and a good value for the money. Right behind an open mall and easy walking distance to almost everything. Excellent free WIFI reception in my room. Free breakfast was included, but never utilized as I never woke-up before noon any day.

The first night there I checked out tons of bars, the Thai Martial arts fights they have in several places, and headed to Angel Witch. I liked a girl named Mei, who ended up staying with me for two nights. She did not pressure me for drinks, was just a gem to be with. What a fantastic girl, awesome sex, sexy....hmmm!!!!

The second night Mei and I went out for a night of drinking, bar hoping, and of course fucking. It was great, especially since Mei was not trying to milk me for every penny and the most expensive drink and item on the menu. I took her to a coffee bar and just the happiness and enjoyment of her drinking a frothing cappuccino was priceless.

We initially agreed on 2000 BHT per night, but I gave her a tip of 1000BHT for a total of 5000 BHT for two nights and two full days. Well worth every penny!

I would head back to Jakarta and Pattaya in heart beat, but probably would avoid BKK. In addition to the girls, I just like the late night bar scene too much. Maybe one day they change the close time in BKK to something more reasonable.

I'll probably plan a trip back sometime later this year....or beginning of next year. It is quite a haul traveling Brazil (where I live now) to Asia, so the traveling time is quite unbearable.

Hey LM, it was great meeting you and you are definitely a great wingman. Thenks for the nice concise trip report. Glad you enjoyed Pattaya and Jakarta a lot. IMHO, the two places just have extremely different feels to them.

Any chance you might give some comparisons to these SEA spots to your usual spots? We haven't had a good old Thailand versus Brazil conversation in a while/

Whew, Thailand versus Brazil comparison - tough one.

To begin with, I would say the mongering scene in Thailand is much more developed then in Brazil. The sheer number of girls in BKK, especially in Pattaya is 100X more. In Pattaya I was particular struck by how overrun the city is by foreigners and that tourism is basically centered around sex. My first impression was the same about BKK, but since BKK is so much larger then Pattaya and I only saw a small portion of the city I can't make a true assessment.

Also, Thailand appears to be safer then Brazil. From my impressions there seems to be less a tendency of violence from the locals and while there just as many poor people, the poor people don't seem to have as easy access to guns like in Brazil.

Girl wise, Thai girls are more shy then Brazilians. Two very big extremes of cultures - Brazil is a culture that thrives on Public display's of affection, kissing, and hugging....where as in Thailand is just the opposite.

I could not find on Thai girl that can kiss as good as a Brazilian girl - Sorry!

Sex wise it is a toss-up - you can find good and bad in both places. Some are very motivated, while others are not - but anal certainly seems to more common in Brazil with the GDP's. You want ass (in good tight shape, I might add) - go to Brazil, with white, black, blond, brunette, indian, all sorts of mix of the latter tossed in. In Thailand the theme tends to be skinny and black hair, without all the variety.

I loved the mongering scene in Thailand, but had a hard time understanding the regular scene. Does it even exist? It seems to be such a fine line with the girls in Thailand.... In Brazil it is much easier for me to identify. Hell, this whole concept about having to pay off the parents of a girl in Thailand to marry just seems so alien to me.

Now, from an overall natural beauty perspective Rio De Janeiro is very hard to beat. The physical beauty of the city, the beaches, etc, cannot be compared to anything I saw in BKK or certainly Pattaya.

It is easier to get away from the mongering to some normal action (which I greatly enjoy), the local pubs and bars in Ipanema and Leblon are not overrun with GDP's like they seem to be in Thailand.

In Brazil I feel like a fish in the water, in Thailand I would have a long way to go.

Brazil has an awesome mongering scene, but pulling independent girls requires more thought to personal safety then Thailand. In Thailand I always felt there was a huge potential to get hustled, just like Brazil, but with less danger for my personal safety. It is one thing getting overcharged, pick pocketed, or money simply stolen while you look away versus having a GDP's boyfriend show up at your apartment with a gun or knife, or worrying about spiked drinks.

The one thing I do feel is that service in all the other countries, from Columbia, Mexico, Germany, Costa Rica, Argentina, etc....does not hold even a candle to what can be found in both Brazil and Asia. You might pay a little more, but you also have more consistency.

Despite all its faults, I will always love Brazil and especially Rio! But, I was very pleasantly surprised with Asia.

Jakarta, on the other hand, can't be compared at all to Brazil The girls are beautiful, sexy, awesome service, etc, but the tourist infrastructure to keep you busy at other times is so limited.

Great report I thoroughly enjoyed the reading and appreciate your insights/comparisons to the two countries. Having been to both Thailand and Rio I agree with your analysis except to say that if you get a chance get down to the southern part of Thailand (Phuket for example) I found this area to be very beautiful and would rival Brazil. I've not been to Pattaya...yet...going there in November. So looking forward to comparing that city to other parts of Thailand. Take care.

One update from my trip report: I just read somewhere that bars/nightclubs in BKK can now stay open until 2:00am and 3:00am in Pattaya. That is certainly good news...the previous 1:00am closing time in BKK was crazy!
