Getting There & Away
Getting There
Eurolines Bus
It was just a short taxi ride from my Riga apartment to the bus station (2 LVL minimum charge). The Eurolines bus ticket to Vilnius cost me 9 LVL.
This is the Eurolines website:

BTW, for people travelling by bus all over the Baltic States and St. Petersburg, the Baltic Pass represents a good deal:

Getting Away
Air Baltic Flight
I flew from Vilnius back to Brussels on Air Baltic. I booked my flight through their Internet site.

The one way ticket cost me:
Air fare: 40,00 LVL
Taxes: 10,20 LVL
Transaction fee: 2,50 LVL
Total: 52,70 LVL
The luggage allowance is 20 kg in economy. My luggage was 4 kg overweight on the way back. Still no problem!
Accommodation
Novotel Hotel
I made reservations for a room at the Novotel through Hotels.com. I paid 79,8 EUR/night for a standard double room.

The room was as advertized and featured an in-room safe and free WiFi Internet access. You can pig out on bacon and smoked salmon at the buffet breakfast.
Since you need your electronic room key to operate the elevator, you need to meet the girls outside or in the lobby. Nobody bats an eyelid when you escort a girl to your room. The hotel is perfectly guest-friendly.
SIM Card
As I seemed to be roaming on my Latvian SIM card when I got to Vilnius, I didn’t buy a local SIM card. But I wasn’t able to make any calls...
In the end, I roamed off my Belgian SIM card.
ATM Machines
There’s no shortage of ATM machines in town.
