Here are some final thoughts on Thailand, specifically Pattaya, and how things have become better in some ways and worse in others...


10 Things I Love About Pattaya

1. The food is absolutely superb no matter where you go. Street food is amazing and still cheap. Farang food available and the quality is high, albeit a bit expensive. Hate to compare it to AC but this is an area where Pattaya wins hands down. The prices in AC for restaurants is the same as Patts but the quality extremely low. My only gripe here is that the influx of Indian tourists has driven the prices of Indian restaurants through the roof, even higher prices than the USA.

2. Hotel value is still the best of any destination I have been to. Plenty of 600 baht a night options with nice rooms and wifi comparable to what you would see at Central Park in AC only half the price. Pattaya Bay Resort still the best overall value IMHO. Lots of nice rooms available in the Soi LK Metro and Soi 2 area that are the best values in Thailand.

3. The girls are almost all thin and take care of themselves. It’s fairly easy to find a hot girl in Thailand and not have to go to 20 bars to find one cute girl like AC. They dress well, they are feminine and still take care of their bodies, even the older girls. Finding a great face isn’t so easy these days though as very few of the girls outside of Issan are working in the Pattaya bars and the Issan girls I do see are mostly of the hot skinny body and not-so-great face variety that guys like Murasaki love so much.

4. Impeccably clean pussies. Not once did I even get a whif of bad pussy or body odor. Thai and Indonesian girls are tops for hygiene and take pride in smelling great.

5. Lots of daytime activity. Plenty of things to do at a cheap price, including going to Soi 6, Lólita's, legit massages, soapies, great shopping, great movie theaters etc.

6. Nudity and nasty shows. I am not a fan of girls putting frogs or darts in their cunts BUT nearly all of the bars have girls fully nude and many of the bars have lesbian shows and shows with various toys. Its really nice to see exactly what the girl looks like in the flesh and it really livens the bars up.

7. Outdoor beer bars. Sure they can be hot as hell but it is so fun being able to party outdoors and the girls at these bars are a lot of fun. Its too bad they are phasing out a lot of the beer bars but the ones that are left are low key and a good place to find FOB’s from time to time. The prices for beer is usually cheap also and finding 30 baht beer specials is common.

8. Thai girls give amazing Bj’s and really know how to fuck. There are no cherry girls, no shy girls under the covers, these girls take pride in giving amazing BJ’s and are passionate when they fuck. It is more about taking care of the man and his needs in every way, instead of some false sense of romance in order to give some passive aggressive guilt trip later to support them. These girls will pour your beer for you in a restaurant, pat your head dry if you are sweating, order your food for you and then give you their best effort in the sack. It’s not robotic, or business-like...it’s real and as Buddhists they take pride in enjoying the moment.

9. Cheap transportation without the hassles. Baht buses are still seriously cheap and you don’t have to worry about getting your shit stolen. They have taxis which are overpriced but necessary sometimes when you need to change hotels. The stand alone baht buses(songthaew) are a complete rip off and should be banned from Pattaya. Getting home can be a pain sometimes if the bus isnt going in the direction of your hotel but any girl that bitches about walking a bit should get kicked to the curb.

10. The locals are not involved in the mongering process. You don’t see locals loitering in the street or waiting for their girlfriends to get off work. They are not seen and don’t roam Walking Street drunk and causing problems. There isnt a disco catering to locals near the main areas for gogo bars or beer bars at all.

10 Things I Hate/Dislike About Pattaya

1. The hot girls will normally not allow photos any more. The internet is completely responsible for this as dumbfucks go to Pattaya with photos asking for specific girls or a loser will try to be prince charming and point out to the girl that someone put her photo online. Either way, it totally sucks. If you are on long trips, you will find enough hotties to take photos but not on a 7-10 day trip. Mediocre or lower tier girls will gladly take photos.

2. The regular tourists have changed for the worst. Instead of Chinese and Japanese tour buses, we now have massive amounts of tourists from Russia, the Middle East, Pakistan and India. As the wealth has shifted in the world due to some industry and mostly plain luck(oil), the type of discount tourist you see in Pattaya is awful. They walk down walking street pointing and gawking at the girls, at the customers with the girls, etc. Going down walking street these days is like avoiding land mines of horrible smells emanating from people more concerned about making fun of bargirls than hygiene. They snap photos of the customers and girls like it was their God given right without any consent. Most of them are now carrying video cams with them and they just take videos of anything in their path, laughing the whole way. One guy was taking a video of me and my barfine and I had a few words with him. He said, “Oh so sorry” and a minute later he was back to taking videos of door girls trying to hide. Sounds racist?...too fucking bad. The only good thing is that most of them are still not allowed into the gogo bars.

3. Condoms. I know for most people this is a non issue but I used condoms more than half the time I was there. Fortunately, the girls still give BBBJ’s and DFK is the norm. I understand that the girls are thinking about their health, but it just takes away from the experience for me. Judge as you wish. I know for a fact that AC would be a ghost town if the girls started demanding condoms.

4. Inflation. The dollar sucks ass against the baht and the prices are still going up. Even in Pattaya, you are going to pay anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 baht depending on ST or LT and this doesn’t include the overpriced barfine of 300-600 baht. In the smaller gogo bars you might get away with 1,000 baht for ST and the beer bars still slightly cheaper. The amount of freelancers has gone down considerably on Beach Road as the cops sweep the place constantly. Don’t let anyone fool you that 500 baht ST’s are easy to find...they aren’t...maybe if you live there and have a laundry list of contacts.

5. Tatoos and piercings. Don’t mind cute, small tatoos but many times the hottest girl in the club has a tatoo that covers her entire back and piercings in her nose, lip etc. Becoming way to common in Happy and Superbaby agogo.

6. Little kid vendors at the beer bars. Hate having 6-7 year old girls hound you constantly to buy shit when you are relaxing at a beer bar. The are relentless and I just don’t like the idea of little kids being around me when I am partying. They should be home or in school

7. Soapies. Now the worst value in Pattaya. Essentially you are paying $60 for an hour or so with a girl that shouldn’t be working any more. The girls at the soapies in Pattaya are on average 35 years old and about 30 lbs overweight. Its where the gogo bar girls go when they are not hot enough to work there any more. The girls are high mileage and give overall poor service with guaranteed covered sex. It’s a novel thing if you havent done it before but I would go to them only in BKK.

8. ST sessions demanded by mamasan. I am mostly a ST guy but once in a while I pick a girl late and want to fuck her now and in the morning. At the very least I don’t want the girl packing up after I blow my load once. ST can still mean multiple pops. I penalize girls for this and they get really pissed. Couple of times I told them that they can either wait a bit and fuck some more or leave 500 baht poorer. 3 of them told me that they have no choice as the mamasan keeps track and demands that they return to the bar if they barfine before midnight. This is slowly happening in AC also but not to this degree. Now this applies to gogo girls from the higher end gogo bars, the beer bar girls and smaller gogo bar girls will gladly stay all night but the talent there is much less.

9. Too many feature dancers or dancers that have to dance throughout the night. I know of several girls that get paid 1,500 baht just to dance every night. One girl gets paid 2,000 baht a night. Why would they want to barfine? Combine that with ladies drinks and fugetaboutit. Most of them are blazing hot but the bars seem more concerned with entertaining the guests rather than making the girls more available to the clients. I also hate it that the girl has to go back to dancing when she is sitting with you, drinking a ladies drink. The owners are all Thai, mostly tied to the local police, and could care fucking less about customer service. Asian mongers have low expectations of service so thats become the norm.

10. Tourists walking around with their kids near the gogo bars and beer bars. I know for some of them its unavoidable but it gives me the creeps and make me really question why any jackass would take their family to Pattaya, other than the fact that they cant afford a real vacation. Cant stand sitting with buddies at restaurants and seeing families roll in. Pattaya is going to eventually have to decide how to coexist regular tourists with sex tourists.

Couple additional things:

Make sure not to go during Cobra Gold. Most of the military have bad taste and will fuck anything but having 10,000 young military studs come to Pattaya isnt so fun. They deserve the fun but I will avoid it next time.

Jomtien a great place to chill during the day with a girl you already know or just by yourself if you want.

Having just spent a month in Pattaya I agree with most of your points. If your time is limited and you can't waste nights looking for the diamond in the rough, it gets hard to find a good, hot long time girl. The influx of goofy foreigners gets on your nerves sometimes on Walking Street, but this is not just a new phenomenon. The year before last I almost had a fight with a British tourist who wanted to take a close up photo of my girls ass, against her will, because she had "Fuck" embroidered across her ass on her shorts. The movie cameras on Walking Street get on my nerves, especially because it bothers the girls.

I couldn't agree more about Cobra Gold. God bless the military guys and I know that they are horny just like me, but I don't need the crowd or competition.

In short nothing is like it used to be. In AC the bars and girls aren't what they were a few years ago and in Pattaya the same is true. I can't speak for Indonesia and I'm not sure that I want to go, but if I did I might quickly learn to love it there.

All of that said Pattaya is still one of the great sex resorts and I plan to have a great time when I go back in 56 days. I just changed my tick to go three days earlier.

i'm sure this thread will get alot of commentary, given pattaya's popularity. i would generally agree and add extra HATE emphasis to:

the hot dancers on salary that can't leave until late. a real downer when you get there at 10pm.

the crowd in general. some real freaks hanging around, and i'm not talking about the thais or the most deviant monger. many of the visitors are just plain fucked up.

the soapies. i don't even go in to look anymore. maybe i should....

extra emphasis on LOVE to:

the food, well not quite love but a good selection of stuff for everyone. shenanigans was a good addition.

huge assortment of outdoor beer bars, indoor go gos, discos, etc... a variety that is tough to beat in asia.

good hotel value. the 600thb level is probably a bit low for what the avg monger pays. i'd guess most are paying 1,000thb to 1,500thb. that said, if you need a low priced spot, you can check in to sawasdee seaview on soi 10 for 600thb and rock and roll.

and of course the girls. alas, there are some fat ones and some with smelly pussies but still impossible to complain about what is available.

one ADDITION:

HATE: the constant construction. you can barely get a decent rest as there is construction on nearly every soi. even when you are on a fully developed soi, some fucker is using a jackhammer to rip up the road, the parking lot, etc...

suffice to say you get a pretty good experience for a very reasonable price.

When is Cobra Gold? Does it vary or is it the same time every year?

Buick; I think that most of the "fucked up" visitors are actually some of the expats that live there in Pattaya. Nothing wrong with that but it makes you wonder what institution they escaped from.

Blazers; I agree with the "tourists" taking photos on walking street. I think we should bring in some street kids from Rio. That would be a target rich environment for them.

Having been to both locations, Pattaya wins hands down in my book.

If the former I think you are totally off the mark. While I can't say in Thailand, I can say in ALL the places in Asia I have mongered the venues that cater to Asians provide much higher service to the customers than those who cater to western (or other) tourists. And please dn't blame it on the Asian management/ownership of venues, venues that provide poor customer service and thrive do so because the customer base tolerates it by not demamding better or voting with their feet.

In places like Thailand and the Philippines, the girls that give the poorest service and are runners are almost exclusively from bars that cater to Asians. The deduction is that the customers are easy to plese so the girls and staff can get away with it. I seriously doubt the docile Japanese or Korean mongers are demanding the girl give BBBJ's, stay all night and tip regardless of service. Its a different argument that the fact that they are ruining the scene...they arent, we are.

As it relates to my post, I was talking about customer service from a bar. They are not picky at all at how their drink gets there and really dont complain about anything unless they get their drink wrong. Americans and Euros complain when shit goes wrong or not up to par...Asians mostly smile and go with the flow...therefor whatever bullshit is going down is accepted.

Blazers, I think you should try actually mongering or partying with some asians first to see what level of service they expect and demand, rather than relying upon introspection and the heresay of bargirls. Asians will complain in much different ways than westerners will. Obviously we can see the hissy fits euros and westerners will throw went they feel underserved. Asians seem to take a much more calm approach. Perhaps in Asia, the asian approach might actually be more effective?

Also, I didn't know Agasaya and their ilk held the monopoly on runners - oops I mean early leavers - in AC. Also perhaps girls in the more asian oriented bars just might really prefer to go with Asians and that is why western customers experience poor attitude and service in these places.

Now Fields Ave and Perimeter in AC while serving a significant amount of Asian customers this market's bread and butter is westerners. Now consider markets whose bread and butter is Asians, you will see that the customer service from management, to food and beverage, to the girls really does provide a higher level of customer service.

This is speculative reasoning at best but certainly valid in a few cases. More plausable reasoning is that the "hot girls" are often sponsored and have more to lose if the photos are discovered by the sponsor.

As a resident of Pattaya for over 2 years, I'd like to pick some things a part in this thread. Keep in mind; this is only how I see things.

Maybe you just got lucky. When it comes to meat, fish and poultry, Thais tend to cook everything to death.

The biggest chunk of the city's advertising budget went to Russia over the last few years and this year the target was Arab countries. The pitch is cheap "family" vacations. Stop and think about it. If the target market was the States, they might get a few families over here, but how many would return? Zero.

On the other hand, if you bring two girls home, they will always demand a condom. My guess is they don't want to look like a dumbass in front of their friend/co-worker. #1, #8: well both food and good BJs aren't a matter of throwing a dart against the wall and hitting paydirt, it's a matter of being able to have many wonderful selections once you do a little recon (or screen in the case of BJs).

Second comment #8-- I had many gals in AC/mnl pamper me, cook, clean the place, etc. It isn't a function of the country of orign imho, but rather whether one is going more the GFE route and fuck 'em early and often... It doesn't have to be a dry, "mind if I take a picture of your T&A" type question-- make it fun, spend the time with them to be them at ease. The reason 99% of the pics posted look like deer in the headlight, is reflective of this point. Communication never hurts, and if it does then I wouldn't want to pull that gal anyhow-- NEXT.

if i can add to the photo/internet topic. i hung with the same gal for a couple months in pattaya. she had some poor fool sending her 30,000THB a month and he thought she was in korat, not pattaya.

so the pattaya bar she works in has a party to celebrate the the one year anniversary for the new ownership. a few photos get taken and the owner puts a slide show of the photos on youtube.

the guy in italy (sponsor) does a search on youtube using the bar name where he met his/this girl. lo and behold, there is a photo of me with his girl in the slideshow.

no more 30,000thb/mo for the girl. she was so devasted that i even had to drop her off the back for awhile. she was depressing to be around.

there are so many ways for the photos to get out and the sponsorship ended.

ps. the next trip i took to pattaya (a few months later), the girl already had a new sponsor. this time an englishman. i believe it was 20,000/thb for this guy.
