Over the past week or so I have asked a few questions to help me with a very brief trip to Rio. I ended up spending a Friday evening and a Saturday afternoon there, and will summarize my experience in this report. I don’t know if such a short stay is worthy of a trip report, but I’d prefer not to clog the chat section with such a long post...so here it is, a report of my very brief trip to Rio de Jainero.

I was aided tremendously by Bwana_dik’s Rio Guide 2006. I found the information to be thorough, organized and accurate. Most of my questions were answered simply by reading this fine document – so many thanks to Bwana. I’m the type that values this board foremost for information, and secondarily for the banter and photos. So for me this document epitomized why I retain my membership. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to research Rio as a destination.

My First Rio Experience: Termas 4 x 4
I flew in on a Friday afternoon from Salvador. Got through the rush hour traffic and arrived at the Atlantico Copacabana Hotel, where I was able to make a last-minute reservation with the help of fellow hombre Blissman’s advice (thanks again, kind sir). Checked in, cleaned up and got on my way to 4 x 4. Upon my arrival, the front desk attendants were busy, but were courteous and pointed out the boite’s and the locker room. My first impression was that the place was much, much smaller than I had imagined. From the years of reading all of the information on this board, I had somehow developed an image that the popular termas were large and spacious – this is not the case. It was a Friday evening and with the large crowd I found the main boite to be unbearable. There was nowhere to sit, and in fact nowhere to stand without being constantly bumped into by other hombres.

So I headed upstairs to the “VIP Club.” The term VIP in this context is meaningless, as there is no special criteria or condition for entry. It’s just another boite that happened to be less crowded and had more mellow ambiance at that moment. Of course, there were fewer garotas, but at least I felt comfortable up there and was happy to sit with a drink and check things out. After about 10 minutes of watching the traffic trickle in and out, I spotted a garota who was physically what I like (dark hair, olive skin and a great ass). She was smiling and looked generally happy to be there, so I motioned her over to have a drink. I cannot remember her name, but we had an enjoyable conversation for about 15 minutes (she spoke Portuguese while I spoke Spanish, and somehow that worked…this was the method that I employed for all of my communication in Brazil). I ended up taking a session with her, and had a great time. Good performer, good attitude, etc.

4 x 4 was fun overall. The entry price was 40 Reals, the one hour session ran 200 Reals, and the drinks, if I remember correctly, ran a total of 30 Reals or so. Brazil is certainly not inexpensive compared to SE Asia, but this was decent pricing for an overall good experience, in my opinion. On the other hand, it was smallish, and on a Friday evening was too crowded for my taste. If and when I get back to Rio, I’ll probably check out 4 x 4 at a day and time other than Friday at 6:00 PM.

I Had to See This, at Least Once: Help Disco
In spite of the mostly negative commentary about Help Disco, I figured that I would check it out. I wasn’t sure what else to do late at night, and I thought that if I didn’t like it for the mongering, I’d at least enjoy having a context to read and understand future discussions on this board.

So at about midnight, I walked from my hotel up the Rue Siquiera Campos, and then over on Avenida Atlantico to Help. I stopped in at the café next door (the T.A. I think it is called), got a coffee, and enjoyed watching the scene. Several working girls approached me and tried to win my interest, but there was nothing so captivating, and I was curious to see the inside of Help. So after 45 minutes of hanging out at T.A., I paid the 33 Reals and went into Help.

Help was, in terms of size, crowd, noise and ambiance, about what I had imagined. There were mongers of all ages, ethnicities and looks, with garotas of an equally variable quality. To my general pleasure, not too many of the girls were overly-assertive. This afforded me the opportunity to walk around a couple of times and take in the scene. I saw one girl who, for some odd reason, was to my liking. She was not the type I usually go for, with her lighter skin and fake-blond hair. But she was cute, and had a few well-placed piercings, which I find kinda hot. Suzie was her working name, and after I made eye contact she seemed happy to join me.

After some time hanging out, she asked me if I wanted to go with her. I certainly did, but tried to remain as cavalier as I could in response. She offered her company for 400 Reals, at which I smiled and told her that I didn’t want to waste her time but that I wasn’t prepared to pay that much. She asked me what I would pay, and I told her that I usually pay 200 here. She countered for 250, and I told her that I’d go for 200 and, if she was worth it, I’d leave her the extra. She accepted the offer and we soon took off.

Negotiating at Help wasn’t any different than at places in Thailand, Colombia, Costa Rica or any other place I’ve mongered. Keep it jovial, smile, let her know that you know what the market rates are, and be willing to walk away. I think the girls can sense whether you are just negotiating or whether you are really willing to pull out of the deal, so to make it work you have to really be willing to not go through with it.

Suzie and I went back to my room, and she was great - extremely affectionate, responsive and energetic. She faked a great orgasm while I was dining below, and was very enthusiastic about all of the additional activities. I had a good time and, while I probably wouldn’t hang out at Help on a regular basis, I liked the place just fine.

The Next Day: Exploring and L’uomo
The next day I woke up, cleaned up and was eager to spend some time walking around Copacabana and Ipanema. I had an 11:00 PM flight that night, so I packed up and checked out of my room. The Atlantico was kind in letting me store my luggage at the hotel until I was ready to depart later in the day.

I spent several hours walking around the neighborhood and just getting a sense for things. Of course, I also spent time walking along the beach. I’m not sure what it was, but I only had two different touts approach me with offers, and neither of them were too assertive.

At about 4:30 I went into Termas L’uomo. This termas was even smaller than 4 x 4, which I knew from reading through the information on this board. At that hour there were about 15 girls – most of whom were quite attractive, in my opinion. With about 7 or 8 mongers present the space was comfortable enough and I liked the ambiance.

After about 10 minutes, I invited a taller girl with a decent face but a killer body over. Her working name is Bia, and she had dyed red hair and a perfect ass. In about 90 seconds her hand was under my robe and her tounge was in my ear. I got a good vibe from her and invited her for a 40 minute session. She told me that she was happy to do a completa, and had all of the toys and lube that we’d need.

Modesty spare the details, Bia was really great. By far the best purely sexual experience I’ve had in some time. It was 200 Reals well spent.

I also took a half hour massage at L’uomo, which also was great. By the time that was done, they were serving food and there were more mongers there, but it was my time to get going to catch my flight to Miami.

Overall Thoughts and Commentary
In my one plus day spent in Rio, I went from knowing absolutely nothing to knowing pretty much next to nothing. But I had a good time and could certainly see why so many of you gents like the place so much. Some of my mental imagery about the place was spot on, but some of it was completely off. Rio has been described as almost “point and click” mongering, and that was kind of how I had envisioned it. I did not find it to be this way however. When compared to a place like Bangkok, another big city famous for P4P, the action was much more subtle. I think that is because in Bangkok, there are areas were gogo’s beer bars and massage parlors occupy 80% of everything. Girls hang out and call out to grab your attention. You’d have to be completely blind to miss it, whereas in Rio I saw nothing at all like that.

Brazilian girls are really beautiful. They have great bodies and exude sexiness. On the other hand, I saw very few Brazilian women over what I would guess is 35 years old or so that I thought was even a little bit attractive. I was there for a very short time of course, so take that observation with a grain of salt. That is only my initial impression.

I would definitely go back if given the chance, but I am not sure I would make a trip on my own dime and time off. I was in Brazil for work, and when I return to Brazil I would be happy to take some extra time and spend a few more days.

Great little vignette of Rio. Two termas and Help. The action is not particularly subtle in those places, so I'm not sure how you ended up feeling the way you described. Plenty of garotas are hustling for clients even outside those two venues, but of course, it's more in-your-face in LOS. After all, Copacabana is a real city.

In my new job I have responsibilities for out LatAm region, and will be traveling down there a lot. So, Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, Panama City, Santiago, etc. are in my future.
