INTRO:
i've been to hong kong alot over the last 12 years (first trip was in 1996). always done wanchai versus the 141 thing. have friends who live in HK, sometimes stay for free and other times pay for hotel. seen the place change quite a bit over the years in terms of the ladies. here is a bit of a chronicle of sorts, i'm going of the top off my head here so be kind as to possible errors in years, prices, etc... it has been awhile.

1996-1999
in the beginning, there were very few freelancers, usually limited to sundays when the filipina maids had a day off and went to wanchai to party. back then you had to get girls from the wanchai "lady bars" and it was steep price (say 2,500hkd minimum for l/t plus your drink bill). and then you took them to fenwick and the other clubs.

1999-2002
then a couple years after HK was handed back to china, the freelancers began to show up at places like fenwick, neptune, laguna, etc... then you could get girls for 1,000 to 1,500hkd (1,500hkd is roughly 200usd) and that made things pretty exciting as far as the reduced pricing for pretty much the same quality girls as the lady bars.

2003-2006
then SARS hit and i would say the year or two after SARS was the "golden age" of HK. airfare and hotel prices were very low. i paid as little as $600-$800 for an economy r/t ticket on UA nonstop from SFO to HKG. paid $200/nt to stay at the intercontinental (formerly the regent) on the kowloon side and that including internet and breakfast. and the freelancer scene was morphing big time, the south american contingent had arrived (mostly colombians) and they were looking hot !!!! but they were asking 2,000hkd minimum so that was the first inkling of "pricing changes" on the freelancer front. fenwick and neptune were packed nearly every night and the lady bars were totally empty as they couldn't compete with the freelancer prices.

NOW
airline ticket is double, hotel is double. viet girls have now arrived on the freelancer scene and ask for 3,000hkd l/t and 1,500hkd s/t. the quality of the colombians appears to have gone way down. the good lookers might have been worth an extra 500hkd but they appear to be gone. i was floored by the colombian beauty in the golden age and was floored by their lack of beauty on this most recent trip. do not know what there current ask is as i didn't approach any. the 1,000hkd for the filipina's is pretty much gone but you can still get a good looking one for 1,500hkd. however, now the filipina's are starting to operate a bit different. some will excuses on why they need to leave your place "early" so they can make a run down and try to catch one last customer at 3am.

the lady bars have made pricing adjustments also. they seem to be more receptive to lower prices and often suggest s/t as a way to reduce your bill. in the past, s/t was pretty much for local guys who had wives and couldn't go home with the girls. mamas would be reluctant to offer s/t to non residents. but it seems to be the order of the day now and many girls are doing multiple s/t's each day (maybe up to 3 or 4). s/t prices are 1,500hkd plus any lady drinks. l/t price for say 6pm to 11am is about 3,500hkd, midnight to 11am is 2,500hkd, and 3am to 11am runs about 1,500hkd. have to add lady drinks to each of those.

so now, if you pull a girl at 2am or 3am, you are going to pay about the same price at the clubs and the lady bars for the same amount of time with the girl. also, the s/t option at the lady bars gives you an early evening option if you don't want to wait until 10pm to start looking for your freelancer. you are not getting the same time but the ladies and the mama will agree to two pops during s/t. and you can go to your hotel, no need for s/t room nearby. NOW THE REAL KICKER, I KEEP MENTIONING THE LADY BARS BECAUSE FINDING A DECENT LOOKING FILIPINA FREELANCER IS NOT AS EASY AS IT USED TO BE. YOU MAY NEED A BACK UP PLAN.

now on to some of the more mundane items of the 10 day trip:

GETTING THERE:
i came from bkk and used 30,000 united miles to fly free r/t in business class on THAI. IMHO, this is one of the best ff miles deals out there. i've also flown HKG to phuket this way (same # of miles) but you have to stop in bkk. i've never been able to get the nonstop HKG-phuket business seats using miles but i have used 20,000 to fly nonstop r/t from HKG-phuket in economy. not a bad deal.

LODGING:
i stayed with a friend who has a place in the midlevels area of HK island not far from the escalators. he has a small two bedroom place. i looked for a hotel but didn't see much below $200/nt and that was for less than average hotels (at least avg by HK standards). places i've stayed before (jw marriott, intercontinental, sheraton kowloon) were $300+/nt.

TRANSPORT:
probably the easiest city to get around in the whole world. airport express is 100hkd to hong kong island. get in the taxi line and you'll be at your lodging within few minutes time for maybe 40hkd fare. if you plan to transfer from the airport express to the MTR (subway) be aware that the MTR station in central HK is quite a walk from the airport express station. you stay underground but it can be a hassle with luggage (i've done it). better to grab a taxi outside the airport express than to struggle with MTR transfer. i saw a chat post not long ago suggesting this transfer so i included some commentary here, not the best way to go IMHO.

back to more exciting stuff.

LADIES:
as most people know, wanchai is the main spot to go and you have two options (i) the "rip off" lady bars or (ii) the freelancer scene in various bars/clubs (fenwick, neptune, laguna, etc...). the freelancer scene is still the cheaper of the two but the gap seems to be getting smaller based on my comments above. here are some details of the places i visited.

LADY BARS:
here you pay 240hkd ($30) for a lady drink although many offer a 110hkd option which is not widely advertised. prices vary from 1,500hkd s/t (2 hrs) to 3,500hkd l/t (say 6pm to 11am following day). if you are a bit worn out and just want to relax with a nice quiet groping session while viewing some ladies, this isn't a horrible option. you can do s/t if you are trying to keep price down. sometimes i just don't have the energy to hit the disco/clubs on back to back nights and this is a nice way to relax, get a girl, and ready yourself for the next big night (some might prefer to go the 141 option on this type of night). some of these places open at 3pm (venus and showbiz are my favorite daytime spots) while others don't really open until after 7pm.

showbiz - i like showbiz for the afternoon as you can go into a semi private room and the lady will strip down to her panties (no bra) and you get some nice attention in there (need to buy one lady drink for this privilege). if you toss out 1,000hkd note, you can get a blow job as well (uncovered) in a totally private room. located on lockhart road a couple doors down from mes amis, the bar on the corner of luard and lockhart.

venus - ground zero wanchai, corner of luard/lockhart (across luard from mes amis). some good looking girls in here. more girls than showbiz. but have to be very careful on the lady drinks. much more pushy than showbiz. i stopped in a couple times during the day but really used the place for late night take outs. when i was too worn out to enter the clubs or didn't find much in the clubs. i took several girls from here, including a two lady deal for 5,000hkd. it was about midnight and my drink tab was another 500hkd. i also did a one girl pull at 2,500hkd with one drink paid (midnight take out) and a 1,500hkd with one drink really late night (might have been 4am).

fenwick - now the viets have arrived and they ask for the most, 3,000hkd l/t. they'll do 1,500hkd for s/t. i should also note this was the first time i'd ever had a freelancer quote me an s/t price. the viets hang in back, the colombians hang to one side, and the filipina's hang on the other side plus the dance floor (front). the place was totally packed every time i was there. often way too many guys. never found a girl i wanted in here and i went in almost every night. two of my friends (not from HK) took viets, paid 2,500hkd for l/t.

neptune - really a mirror of fenwick but smaller venue. you see many of the same girls in both places on the same night. this is where i talked with a viet. when i said i wouldn't pay 3,000hkd, she just walked away. no counter offer. nothing. i was shocked. then my local friends explained later that is typical of the viets and they were very "disturbed" that two of our friends paid the high viet prices on a previous night. i took a filipina gal from here twice at 1,500hkd l/t (2am to 11am).

laguna - from what i could tell, the laguna girls don't really hit fenwick and neptune. i think it might be a separate circuit. when i asked the girls if they went to fenwick or neptune they all said "no, i'm a laguna girl". pretty much filipina only in here. might have been some fat ugly colombians but my eyes dodged them. the guy i stayed with had a regular girl from here, he pays her airfare from the PI as the girls "agents" charge triple the real airfare. then she works off the loan with service. i was introduced to many of her friends but didn't see any that met my fancy/standards.

makati - i went here on sunday which is when the maids get a day off and party down. some will go out and others won't. many years ago, neptune I (the current neptune is really neptune II) was famous for the filipina maid's sunday day off big party. now it is about 50% indo girls. i didn't take a girl but my buddy who lives in HK has a regular girl that he meets every month on her one sunday off. he pays her 500hkd for s/t as she has to be back at her work/home by 10pm. some pretty girls in here and a good option for an early pull on a sunday, basically like fenwick or neptune but gets going around 4pm or so. raging by 6pm.

SUMMARY:
HK is great place to have some fun but it will cost you. i was lucky to have free lodging and airfare. still spent roughly $300/day on the trip. unfortunately, like many other spots, the good times seem to be in the past. the pricing for the girls can make your head spin, depending on time, nationality, and where you pick them up. plus it is not easy to find good looking freelancers. not finding a good candidate in a search of fenwick and neptune was impossible not long ago. now you may have to make several sweeps. and, the evolution of s/t may mean that your selection has already enjoyed for the evening. very rare for the freelancers of the past.

Thanks for the detailed report. Wow these are some true nose bleed prices. Why are the exported viets absolutely the most mercenary whores in Asia, but they are so delightful when procured in Vietnam?

With your budget, might I humbly suggest you take the KCR train an hour north to Changping? You will really get the 4-5* treatment and facilities you crave at a fraction of the price. Plus the girls are much younger and more beautiful than you will find in Wanchai. Of course there are not pinays in CP except in some of the cover bands found in some bars.

Thanks for the report. Myself I actually love the 141 scene, but have had some pretty nasty surprises. The current freelancer prices are not good, no arguing there. Still there is just something nice about being in Hong Kong. I just finished 12 days in Thailand (BKK and Pattaya) and about halfway through started wishing I had went to HK instead.

This is a good report with useful information on Hong Kong. I have been through HK many times going to Philippines and always wondered if I should take a layover there, and go into the city and fuck. After seeing this, I am glad I never did.

It is my opinion that if you are looking for filipinas, you should go to the Philippines (2 hour flight away from HK. If you are looking for Colombianas, go to Colombia (5 hour flight from JFK). When I have found these girls in other countries than their own, I have usually found them to be more businesslike and cold than in their own countries. By the time they get to the point where they wanna leave their own families behind and go someplace else to whore...it usually means it is ALL money and no true GFE.

A cheaper place to stay in Wan Chai is Empire Hotel on Fenwick and Hennessey. I usually get it for $100USD/nt. Very convenient when you pull that girl from Laguna or Fenwicks.

Nice Report and thanks for the update. I'm a fan of "one-up" brothels in Mongkok. Pulled some cuties from there. Some of the apartment brothels (141sex 161sex etc) are not that bad either. M

These prices make me cringe. Buick, have you ever been over to Mongkok in Kowloon? ST will set you back anywhere between 300 and 600 there. 141 girls are usually 400 to 700. My mind boggles at the 4-digit figures you are quoting.

For a place to stay, Murasaki does a random guesthouse in Mirador Mansions for 200 HK or so ($26 or so US). Hotels are so damn expensive there and I'm never around more than 2 days, so I go on the cheap.

From the Kowloon airport express station, there is a free shuttle bus over to the hotels on Nathan Road. These things operate in loops and are going all the time. It is one very long-ass walk from that station. I'm actually astonished you walked it with luggage! I am unaware of a tunnel from that station, that must be very new. There is a tunnel that connects the KCR East Tsim Sha Tsui station with the MTR Tsim Sha Tsui station.

i was referring to the central airport express station on hong kong island, not the kowloon side. in fact, i was going to add that if you really want to stick with mass transit to get to HK island hotels, you might consider taking the airport express to kowloon station and transferring to MTR there to continue to the island (very easy transer to MTR there). not so easy to transfer on the island (the long walk).

i almost stayed at empire but they wanted $150, i think i must have been in HK during some convention or something. i would have stayed there for $100 but in the end i did get free lodging and glad i got to experience the "HK local living" up in the midlevels. the bldg i stayed in was all asian except for my buddy and i. i was not in one of the high class establishments.

to all, let me add an addendum to the update:

i went to HK to meet a bunch of long time friends (many 10+ yrs and a few 20+ yrs, from my college days). some living there and several others gathering there from various spots overseas before heading to an annual golf outing they have in china. so my main goal here was really to hang with the boys and mix it up a bit. i didn't think about $$ much, this wasn't a once in a lifetime deal but probably 10 times in a lifetime deal. my wallet was wide open and i would have dropped a $1,000/day if needed.

my friends that live there never do mongkok, ever. one guy even lives in mongkok and doesn't do the 141 scene. so i've kind of been "stuck" with wanchai (and i wasn't complaining in the golden age but i am now). my friends do make frequent runs to mainland china. i'm guessing changping is one. i hope to join them on one of those junkets sometime next year.

i have alot of memories of HK and with friends living there it makes sense for me to visit from time to time. for someone who doesn't have these ties to HK, it makes little sense to visit HK more than one or two times. you are much better off going to the PI, thailand, vietnam, colombia, china, etc....and sampling the ladies on their home turf. as one or more posters have noted, when the girls are imported, it is often not the same experience as enjoying with them on their home turf.

i exchanged some emails with a few of my HK friends to get some intel on why they don't do the 141's and where they go in china.

back in the "golden age", when local guys could easily get freelancers for 1,000hkd, they preferred that to the 141's. before the freelancers arrived on the scene, they just went to manila and bangkok for the ladies. went to mnl or bkk pretty much every other weekend.

now they've graduated to mainland china and still have a few freelancers they can get in HK for 1,000 to 1,500hkd. so 141's still out for them, they'll pay more for l/t and having the girl come to their place.

my friends have been to chang ping but they prefer chang an. and they claim these places are better than bkk.

You are correct about the Columbians at Fenwick's being ugly lately. I travel to Costa Rica, and the Columbians there are MUCH better looking than the ones in HK. My buddy that lives in HK tells me that the word on the street is that they are mules bringing in drugs, then do a little work and back to Columbia. I have seen many Columbian guys sitting with them at Fenwick's, so maybe they are pimps.
Also, as Radioman said above, Columbianas outside of Columbia are hard core busnesswomwen. Goodlooking but bad performance. However, people that travel to Columbia say that they are much more laidback, fun, girlfriend like than outside of Columbia.
