Now that I’m back home and the Post Rio Syndrome has set in, I’m really pleased with how my trip went. Overall it was another unforgettable experience.

GAROTA QUALITY

I’m still in awe that I’ve never had a bad Rio session. Eventually I’m sure I will, but it says a lot about Rio to be able to have about 50 consecutive great sessions there. I’d say that well over 75% of the garotas I’ve been with have DFK’d, done BBBJ’s without asking, and were overall very enthusiastic and affectionate in servicing me. I’ve found the garotas attitude is to be very in tune to pleasuring you, sometimes to the point of obsessing about you enjoying the session and having an orgasm. There were times when vibes were bad or I was arguing with a garota and I was sure the session would suffer. However when the clothes come off and it’s time to start fucking, I’ve never been disappointed by a Brasilera. As has been said, Brasileras are like Latinas on steroids.

I also found the majority of Terma garotas and a lot of freelancers were young, in good shape, and were well taken care of. For me, one of the benefits of Rio is the big supply of younger women, say 18-24 yrs old, which is the average age range for women in the Termas. I hear Hombres on the board talk about wanting an older woman to take dancing or for better conversation, but I find I’m either physically attracted to women or not, and after Rio, I don’t find many older women attractive. Call me crazy, I just find the 19 y/o hard-bodies much more attractive than the 30ish saggy and baggy types who some guys say they prefer to talk to more. For me, Rio has the best of both worlds-tremendous quantity and quality of beautiful young garotas.

SPEAKING PORTUGUESE

This may be the biggest thing you can do to improve a garotas attitude and your session quality. The majority of gringos don’t event try to learn a few phrases to help out, and most garotas know only a few words to try to get a guy to a room.(ie-fucky-fucky). Speaking Spanish is a plus and they can generally understand most of what you say. The problem is that you probably won’t understand much of what they say, unless you’re a native Spanish speaker and know the key pronunciation differences. I can’t tell you how much it helped to be able to talk to the women-their faces would light up when I did and I had lots of garotas in Termas approach me to talk or translate because the garotas knew I spoke Portuguese. Not being able to talk to the garotas must be awkward and I’m sure it increases the chances of having a bad session. The downside of being able to speak some Portuguese is that you’re hassled a lot by Hombres and garotas to translate.

I took a lot more time this trip learning verbs, sentence structure, and pronunciation before I went and it helped. I could understand pretty much everything the garotas said to me, and when I didn’t I could ask them what it meant or to say it differently. I’m still not fluent by any means and my speaking skills are more limited, but I could carry on a conversation pretty well. I’d say being able to converse and sweet-talk the garotas was the number one reason I had such good luck with session quality in Rio.

SAFETY

I wrote about the armed robbery in the Debret lobby. One of Don’s guys ended up getting pick pocketed outside a cambio and had some money stolen as well. These events contributed to me feeling less safe in Rio, but not to the extent I would not go again. My first trip I felt sort of insulated and I walked around at night after midnight by myself, which in hindsight was stupid. This trip there were situations where I walked at night with Athos and BT, and I never felt threatened specifically, but I was constantly looking behind and around me for trouble.

I would suggest taking a taxi anywhere after dark, and walking in groups if you have to walk somewhere at night. Never carry more cash on you than you need and never carry your passport with you. Keep everything valuable locked up in a safe if you have one. Take the same common sense precautions you would in any major city and you’ll probably be ok.

HIGH SEASON VS LOW SEASON

I thought there would be a bigger difference in the number of available garotas since we were getting into high season. The only place I noticed a pronounced difference was Help and the terrace. I noticed a lot more higher quality garotas in Help than on my last trip. My problem is I was usually too tired to go on the hunt at 1 am. Next time I’m going to try to adjust my sleeping pattern to staying up later and sleeping later in the mornings if I can.

Otherwise, I only noticed more Hombres at the termas-quality and quantity of garotas was pretty much the same at Luomo, Monte Carlo, and Solarium. I would say Terma 65 was a step down from my last trip, and Centaurus has pretty much fallen off of the map. The first day of my first trip at Centaurus I saw a lot of stunners. Since then, the quality has been below any of the other main termas and it’s really foolish to go now. I feel stupid for going 3 times in fact, but I’ve always had a great session there, so at least it was good in that regard.

RATING TERMAS

If I was going to rate the top Termas, it would have to be between Monte Carlo, Luomo, and Solarium. I don’t think I can rate them effectively, other than that they are generally good or bad during a trip. For example, I found that one night Monte Carlo was packed with hot garotas and there was a great selection. After a session I went to Luomo and it was dead. The next night Monte Carlo has about ½ the garotas as the night before with the same number of Hombres, so it was bad that night. We go to Luomo and there are lots of hot garotas walking around and it’s rocking. You never know on a given night what Terma will be up and down, so you should try them all out. You can predict the number of garotas to some degree at Solarium-I was told by management that they go to ½ shift on Saturday and Sunday, so you should expect fewer garotas then. Also Sunday night is swinger night, as is Wednesday night I think, so you probably want to avoid Solarium after say 8 pm once the swinger crowd arrives on those nights.

GETTING SICK

This was definitely the biggest bummer of my trip. I was not at 100% from Day 5 on. I decided to keep going because I didn’t have a headache, congestion, bad fever or anything that would keep me in bed. My only symptoms were a sore throat and feeling weak all the time. I also sweat a lot when I took Advil and I got dehydrated a few times. I should have gone to a doctor or started antibiotics immediately, but I kept thinking I was getting better. I did start feeling better my last day after taking antibiotics on Day 8.

I’m glad I continued with the trip and didn’t go home or cut it short, but it really affected my ability to session well. Terma sessions are often very physical and I couldn’t really keep up much of the time. Still, every session turned out good and all the garotas were understanding.

REPEATS

I ended up doing a lot of repeats, especially at the end. One of the reasons was that because I was sick, it was much easier to repeat and I didn’t have to hang out in the boite and interview garotas and choose. I was also easier to pick someone I knew was a good session and would understand I wasn’t at full speed. My only goal was to have a good time-I didn’t have a specific number of garotas or number of photos I was trying to hit. I just went with a feeling most of the time and everything turned out ok.

SPECIAL THANKS

I’d like to thank Bluestraveller, Athos, GCL, and Mitchc for hanging out with me during my trip. You guys made it very memorable and I can’t thank you enough.

I’d also like to thank the Hombre from Don’s group who lent me the USB cable to download my photos. I won’t give his name, but he is responsible for pretty much all the photos in this report. Otherwise, I would have had to borrow or buy another camera and I would not have gotten the number of pics that I did. Thanks also to GCL for letting me borrow his camera when I didn’t have the cable.

FINAL THOUGHTS

When I think back on my trip, the one thing that sticks out is the tremendous attitude of all the garotas I had. Not every garota did everything I wanted, but most of them were open to pretty much anything and all of them took getting me off very seriously. It’s that kind of service combined with incredible beauty of the average garota that makes Rio one of, if not the premiere destinations in the world. I’m not sure when I’ll return, but probably not for several months. I’m considering side trips to Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires for my next visit.

Thanks again to all and I hope you everyone enjoyed the report.

Great report. As usual you do a very thorough job. There is an error in this report--none of Don's guys got pickpocketed outside an ATM. Someone did get pickpocketed, but not one of Don's guys.

The guy that got pickpocketed looked like a bodybuilder with an intimidating presence (lest any of you think you are immune). He walked out of the ATM and a team of guys moved in close--before he knew it they had his cash. Be careful guys--I suggest using pants with zippered or velcro sealed pockets if possible. Other than that, just be on the alert when leaving Atms and Cambios.

Next time, just go to Drogaria as they can sell antibiotics without doc prescription.
Thanks for writing entertaining reports with many photos.

Hello,

I apologize if this is the wrong area to post, but I don't know where to put it. I've been to Rio and I am totally fucked now. I've done things I've never thought were possible here in the states with woman who were the best looking and most sexy that I've ever seen. My problem is like all of yours...when can I get back?

I'm trying to get back the last weeks of December, but the airfares are trashed this late in the game ($1K on Priceline from N. Calif) so I want to find an alternative place to practice the hobby during this time. I'm thinking about Dominica Republic, Costa Rica or Cuba.

For the vets in this group who've travelled the world, knowing what Rio is like (quality, quantity and cost of the girls), which location would you suggest and why? Will any of these locations be a let down in comparison to Rio? I almost exclusively go with 8 - 10's on a rating scale so I am picky. BTW, I am in the process of putting together 4 trips to Brazil next year - that's how twisted you get once you've been in Rio. I almost hate to post how much Rio oozed with sex because it encourages others to go there.

Quick suggestions:

A) Call 1-800-BACC-RIO for tickets. best prices and selection, IMHO.

B) There are still some spots available for flying to Rio on the night of the 24th, if you don' tmind missing Xmas.

C) Cuba is probably the best alternative.

GCL-My bad, I thought the bodybuilder was in Don's group because he was at the Alcazar a lot. Now that I think about it, it may have been a Cambio where he got ripped off. Either way, it was a wakeup call hearing his story because I've always felt insecure leaving cambios and ATM's as it would be an obvious place to get marked.

Athos-I did go to a drogaria-the one across from Fone Rio. What's funny is that Ambiens and the Amoxicillin both had "PRESCRIPTION ONLY" in Portuguese on the front and I was able to buy both with no hassle.

Hombrecito1;
I don't remember which one of us you were but
distinctly remember the usb cable being handed
to you at Alkazar that day.I think you arrived
a day or two before i left if i'm following
your report dates correctly.Great report.Looked
forward to your picture postings everyday.
The big guy who got mugged got it within feet
of the Cambio most of us used a block and a
half off Atlantico,right by Alkazar.Posting
a picture of him would be a truly cautionary
point,as he was so cut,to any of us who think
we are immune to the crime in Rio.For you
people who are literalists i don't mean we should
really post a picture of him. Thanks again
H1 for your report.
DT with the DTs'.
I hope you get to go down again soon but it
really does'nt matter. You'll still have to come
back and face the decompression when you come
back.Stay on these boards,write a trip report.
You'll find guys you were down there with responding to your report and everybody has a
great big group Detox. In a couple of weeks
you'll be laughing at all the exchanges on the
boards and feeling better.I wrote my post on
another board and if you read it,which you may
have since i saw your I'm fucked" posting on that
board also, you can see the decompression that
goes along with the exchanges on my posting.
My report is'nt very good, but i noticed last night
after reading more responses, that those responses
had over a couple week period of time gone from direct comments on the report to generally, after
figuring out whose handle goes with what face,
giving each other shit like a bunch of guys going
to a football game.Everybody comes down togeather.
Last night after reading some of the comments
i debated to myself posting"this is the most
i've laughed since i've been home" or giving
GCL some more shit.Giving GCL more shit won out
over self-disclosure,after all i must keep my
guy standards high.Male bonding is always more
important than that stupid honesty thing.
This is way too serious!I need to get laid.

Okay, I am reduced to simple name calling (I think).... "travellersn eats boogers".

By travellersn on Friday, December 13, 2002 - 03:01 pm:  Edit

DT;Oh,and by the way.All the others locations you
mentioned will probably be a dissapointment.None
of them have the heart of Rio.It will just be
sex,which is a good thing(i could use some)but
probably a dissapointment after your experience in Rio.If this was your first Rio experience, not
even Rio will live up to Rio if you go right back
down.

GCL;YOU ARE CORRECT!I'd give your left nut to
eat her now.

You are never going to protect yourself 100% against robbery. Size seems to be less of a factor than common sense. A couple of tips which are obvious but worth repeating.

- Use the ATMs during the day as more people on the streets. Also you're not lit up for anyone outside to see you're withdrawing money.
- Use an ATM with a bank attached during business hours. Easier to lose yourself in the crowds going in/out.
- Take a little less out so the hit, if robbed, is less painful. It might mean going everyday but the exercise will do you good.
- Pick an ATM close to your apt. to minimise the time spent on the street with lots of cash in your pocket.

Personally, I use Banco Bradesco on NS de Copacabana between Rua Miguel Lemos & Rua Xavier da Silvera. It's a busy branch, not on a corner and you can see if people are hanging around outside. Plus it's close by if you're at MP or the internet cafe. One I try to avoid is the Bradesco on the corner of Rua Sá Ferreira with the camelos (sp?) and faveleiros around.

I know some of you get better rates at Citibank but I'm not overly keen on the area around there.

How's your spanish? I don't care what everyone else says, if you can speak a little spanish and you got even a little bit of game, Havana is a great time. The quality there is as good as your patience. Go to some of the better discos and you'll find plenty of higher quality chicas.

Burger King vs McDonalds:

Rio is Burger King - "Have it your way". Go to a terma and place your order. It's all there right in front of you, and you get the best service in the world within minutes of donning your robe.

Havana is McDonalds - "Billions and Billions Served". Sport fucking oozes from the pores of almost every young pretty cubana you'll see. They relish this role in their society. I don't care much for Rio outside of the termas. It's crowed, busy, and you don't see near as many sexy women walking around town as in Havana. Add to that, you'll get more action at every turn in Havana than in Rio.

That said, be prepared to learn the ropes if you decide to try Havana...

DG
PS
I may be there around New Years if you'll be there then.

Hombrecito -

Great reporting. Consise, to the point, and very readable. Awesome pics, too.

Rio sounds like a paradise: DFK, DATY, BBBJ... sportfucking at it's best. And those BUTTS...

In a year and a half of mongering in Nogales, I've found only one girl remotely like the average terma girl (apparently) - and I'd thought I'd won the lottery.

One of these days...

Great job and thanks again.

O Senhor Bill,

If you ever decide to do Rio, be forwarned Nogales will never be the same for you again. That said, you should go if you can.

Hi Dongringo,

Thanks for your offer, but Havana is scaring me right now. I had Spanish in college, but I never used it and of course, I'm learning Portuguese. Had I not heard about the crackdown, I would have picked Cuba. Is there an archive or article around here where I can pick that up? I know I have to fly to Mexico and then to Cuba, but what are the best airlines, what do I need for documentation, what are my lodging options? General idea of what I should pay...etc.

If you have an ethernet jack, go to Tudo y Facil around the corner from the Rio Rioss. They have 2 cubicles where you can plug into their network. It's about T1 speed. I recommend it.
