Trip date: 1300 HRS 9 November- 1700 HRS 11 November
Exchange Rate 3.5 ps to 1 dollar US
MY Spanish is good enough for about an hour of conversation

My purpose for writing this report is to share information, confirm information, and get feedback from members who know Buenos Aires (BA) better than I. This was my first trip to BA. I arrived Saturday and left Monday night. This was a “miles Trip” to maintain my frequent flyer status (10,500 flight miles about 17,000 with bonuses). Please feel free to contact me with any corrections/ insights. I need the help as I plan to return when in February as long as I don’t called to active duty(Army).

Conclusion: I enjoyed BA immensely. The food, women, and hotels were wonderful. My usual destination is the Dominican Republic (Santo Domingo, Boca Chica)(DR). The women from BA (You get a mix, Brazilian, Paraguayan, etc) seem better education and overall a better “class.” The cuisine is very superior to what I encountered in the DR(Boca Chica/Santo Domingo). Contrary to the previous post about BA posted here you do not have to spend 100 US to have a good time with these girls. I will return to BA as long as there is a favorable exchange rate. My only pet peeves everything is spread-out (Taxis are plentiful and across town is about five pesos) and I never had to do so much walking around and taxi rides to find pussy.

The following report is based on my very limited experience

I Left Kennedy Airport for BA 2100 HRS 8 November. This plane is smaller than the airbus that goes to the DR. The flight is ten hours long. I would recommend one of those a funny head pillow that fits around the neck, ear plugs, something to keep you busy if you can’t sleep (14 year in the Army I can sleep under any conditions). Avoid the seats near the galley areas. They are high traffic/high noise areas. For this flight I had the Toshiba 2000 DVD, Magazines, and my CD player. The first class, Business class, and the front section of coach have the 15-volt plug, which powered my DVD player. The food on American Airlines seems to have declined in recent year so I would recommend a sandwich and cookies for your flight.
BA airport (Code EZE) you should avoid the change cubicles near the baggage pick up.(Thank you guys from previous posts) When you clear customs there is a bank to your left the exchange rate was better(3.4-1 US?). Once you go through the double doors there is the tourist office on yor right. They speak good English they recommended restaurants, places to go, give out free maps of the city(Best free map I found-you will need one for the taxi driver here in town have no clue), and booked me a hotel. They called the hotel, took the name of the person they spoke to, confirmed the price, and gave me all the information in writing. (Great Service). When I returned to the United States I had to pay additional airport tax about 15 US?

The few change places I went to wanted an extra fee to change travelers checks to pesos. About 2% with a minimum charge of 5 dollars US.

TSM Action
I was told many the clubs are slow on Saturday and Sunday. It also rained Saturday and Sunday. Here things do not get started until very late-0100 HRS and later. Overall, drink prices at these clubs run about 20ps for girls and us guys the prices vary(All overpriced). You may pay an entrance fee (ask to take a quick look before you pay there may be only 2-3 girls present or none) the price may be offset with coupons for free drinks. These place are not real bars (ask for a ginger ale) just whorehouse in disguise. Some places have rooms in the back to do your business, but I never used them. Next time I return I plan to use the cafes (I am a day person). I prefer the quieter laid back atmosphere. I avoid the high priced drinks, and if I use my hotel, I avoid paying for the quickie hotel. The girls seem better (type, personnality, looks)?

My two days of impressions.

Café Orlean-nice café/environment.
I ate breakfast once and the food was good. I picked up two women on separate occasions in this place gave them 200 ps for one hour. According to the Americans that were staying there longer I over paid. They told me girls will take 100-200 ps for an hour. When I have only 2 ½ days I do not haggle to hard. They both passionate and had good sex. I like sex in the daytime and the Hotel Horizen is around the corner and it is very nice.(40-60 ps for 2 hours) The café Orleans never ask for any money when I walked out with the girls(two separate occasions). I paid for one drink (9ps) with one girl and the other had a tab running (She did not ask me to pay for the drink). The only day time place I found that had anything good. (I forgot to bring copies of previous post) When I went Saturday and Sunday it had only a few women. On Monday afternoon It had about 10 women and I would have paid to fuck anyone of them.

Cutty Sark-Reconguista 873 tel. 4311-0796.
I went Saturday night. They had only four women present at about midnight. The people seem pleasant. I had a drink and waited for some one I can speak to about the cost of the girls. Finally, a patron walked in who told me he was a regular. He told me he pays 50 ps for a half-hour and 100 ps for an hour. Later I met Marylin looked like a six fucked me like a ten. She was from Paraguay with a sweet personality. They ask for a 100 US(THEY ALL DO-I DO NOT KNOW WHY). I told her the guys here only pay 100 ps for and hour and she readily agreed.

Affaire-Guido 1967(near cementerio de la Recoleto) tel. 4803-1812
This place had about 10-15 girls on a Sunday night. I end up with a girl (19 yrs) from Honduras ( 7) paid her 100ps for an hour and well worth it. Low pressure environment. I used a quickie hotel near by Tanger Hotel(En Recoleta: J. M. Gutierrez 2582/Pueyrredon y Las Heras).

Tributo Night Club- Chacabuco 166 tel. 4342-1817
Was dead(no girls) until I return at 200 HRS Monday and then only had 3 girls. Pick up one girl for 100ps (6) but fuck very good and for a long time.

Playwomen -Azuenaga 1968 tel. 4804-7077/4806-4183
Nice show, entrance fee(20?ps) offered a girl(Camera ) 50 US and she agreed so quickly and happily I got the impression that was to much to offer. I never return for her. When I go back I will try again.

Solid Gold-near Playwoman-very push when it comes to drinks and the girls are looking for big money(First impression).

My overall impression of the girl-No one seemed to be in a rush, very laid back, the girls are shy even the street walker what few I saw unless you literally grab a girl they leave you a lone. All of them asked for money upfront. Of course I went ballistic over that( My Boca Chica training) I would show them the money and that would sometimes be enough. You need to speak Spanish in this country (saying culo and cerveza wont cut it here). I found only some of the hotel staff and a few places speak English.

Lollipopoman:

I would have liked to read a military description of an experience with a girl. I would heve been very funny ("Started BBBJ operations at 515 followed by rear attack at 530, enemy lubrication as expected by the engineer squadron..")

Now, on your previous questions:

- Effectively on August 2002, people should pay airport taxes on the Ezeiza airport, regardless of previous taxes paid to the travel agent. I was allowed to not pay because I flew back on July 31st.

- You may have overpaid Oscar. As far as I know, the "remise" (livery) rate for waiting is p6, so p100 for a whole night is more than enough.

- As a military commander, you may always try to secure a beach head or a hill, at least with low costs in lives. Well... girls do the same: They always try to secure U$S100 from foreign mongers, although most times they got the no-no answer. The few uninformed ones more than pay for the bad feelings from the rejections.

- Avenida de Mayo and 9 de Julio (where Hotel Madrid is located) is not a quarter to stay. It may be dangerous at night. However, as the name says, there are many Spaniard restaurants and theaters nearby (El Globo, Teatro Español, Museo del Jamón, etc).

- Lavalle St. is lame, so I would skip La Estancia for some other parrilla in Puerto Madero or Costanera Norte.

To the numbered questions:

1) I posted already on this issue. Pueyrredon Affaire and a few massage places in Downtown open after 2PM. Also, I saw a lame place in Flores open at 3PM on July 2002 (Manhattan, Rivadavia Av. between Nazca Av. and Terrada St.), but the girls look like Frankenstein after a car accident.

2) Forget about streetwalkers. Perhaps a few in front of Playwoman or in Flores (usually nearby Terrada St. and Bacacay St.), but dangerous to walk around in that part of Flores.

3) Campo dei Fiori (Venezuela St and San José St), Prosciutto (Venezuela St. and Santiago del Estero St.), Cosa Nostra (At Cabrera St, corner with Lavalleja St or +/- 1 block).

4) Don't know.

5) In Martinez (upscale northern neighborhood, around Libnertador Av 13500) there is a branch of Lincoln School. I heard a lot of people speaking American English. Many American executives live there.

6) Savoy (Callao Av. between Rivadavia Av. and Mitre St.), a block from Plaza Congreso. There is a liquor store in Callao Av and Arenales St, near Recoleta.

7) Galeria del Cuero (Florida and Paraguay), located in the tourist neighborhood but not very expensive. Try also Murillo St at 600 or some stores near Scalabrini Ortiz Av. and Acoyte Av.

8) Try the salsa places. Many very good looking 30+ girls who die for a man. La Trastienda (Balcarce St and Belgrano Av) could be one of these.

9) I heard one that issues a lot of them in Sarmiento St and Reconquista St (The heart of "The Financial District").

10) Don't know.

11) Don't know.

See www.cybermapas.com to locate the streets.

Hope this helps,

Andres

Do Not Do Streetwalkers in BA. It is against the law. You can do anything else you want, but do not so streetwalkers.

Agree with most everything, but on Sat & Sun, I was stay away from down town all together. I did find a lady at Cafe Orleans one Sat, but picking are usually poor.

I would stay away from Tributo's also. Hope you did not get a high drink bill there, but they like to stick it to people.

Glad you have fun. Spanish does help a lot. Do not tell then you are speaking spanish. Tell then you are speaking Castellano.

CP

PS: Good luck on your next trip. Sounds like you know about as much as everyone else now.

Airport Taxes: They check if it is included in the tix - In many cases it is - I did not pay
entry or exit taxes at EZE (Sept or Nov) Incuded in my tix.The boarding pass (exit) will mention it - You'll have to get a coupon thingy though from a booth next to the entrance to the resticted area on the second floor before the security scanners and passport controls.

By Ezy on Saturday, December 14, 2002 - 02:14 pm:  Edit

addendum...the amex office will exchange travelers checks without commission. The office is on Arenales, on Plaza San Martin.

Florida Hotel? Are you talking about the NH Florida? If so, try argentinago.com Mayra can help with reservations.

Otherwise Andres and City Dude have offered great answers...

Lollipopman,

Great information. Frankly though I'm a bit puzzled. With all the great information here on seeing internet girls I'm wondering why you didn't call any of them. Especially since you are a "day guy". The internet girls are very very easy to get a hold of. The prices are good too. Go to the many many internet sites. Even with the three main ones www.area-vip.com.ar, www.escorts-argentina.com and www.platynum.com.ar you will have more girls than you know what to do with.

Plus, most of the girls have apartments that you can go to if you don't want to see them in your hotel.

You are right. The clubs don't get hopping till later. So if you're not a late night guy DEFINITELY use the internet girls. They are very sweet and affectionate. Especially since you speak a little Spanish. I have friends that ONLY use the internet girls since he isn't a late night guy. He sees 3-4 girls a day from internet and loves it. I myself usually see one or two internet girls a day. Very easy.

Also, I'd recommend staying away from Street walkers too but not for the same reason Canonperdido says. He said "it's against the law" but what most guys don't realize is that 'prostitution' in general is illegal in Buenos Aires. And that doesn't stop us any.

Good luck.

P.S. Definitely contact Mayra at mayra@argentinago.com I can personally vouch for her. She is honest, reputable and speaks excellent English. She is one of the best for helping set up airport transfers, cellphone rentals, hotels or apartments. In fact, I'm using her to rent out my apartment.
