MY BEST THANKSGIVING EVER


This was my first time in Rio and the experience was analogous to when I was a kid at the candy store. For you older guys who remember penny candy and candy bars for a nickel...remember when you were 7 or eight years old when you went to the corner grocery store with A LOT of money ($5 - $10) and you could buy anything and as much as you want? That was Rio for me in a nutshell only it was pussy, not candy (to some I guess it's the same!). I have a new rating scale for women and I use it to gauge what I'll go after. I stayed at the Debret for $40 USD per night. I had a standard or superior room (I forgot which one) and I made my reservation via the internet. I'll look into an apartment the next time maybe, but I don't like to spend time cleaning when I'm on vacation.

Cab rides are usually a $5 - $10 if you're in copa. The cabbies will try to take you if you don't know better. Demand to put the meter on and leave if they act like they don't know how to get there. Don't be afraid to say bullshit if they start wandering around. Get to know a few honest cabbies and ask for their phone number and hours and use them repeatedly. I tip the ones I like because again, they have to make a living.

I'm a fussy eater so I ate at McDonald's because I know what to expect. I ate at Marius in Copa, the Porcao's in Copa and the Porcao's In Ipanema. The Ipenama Porcao location is way better in my mind and Marius has a nice atmosphere for eating and taking one of these hotties for a bite to eat. Those will be my spots when I return.

Print off the address for each of these termas and save them. Then click on Maps under "All Brazil Topics". Print off each of the maps and note where the Termas are located in relation to Copacabana.

2 hotels shown in Copa are the Debret and Rio Roiss. I'd recommend a hotel first time. There are tons of Hotels in Copa, but the Debret and Roiss are cheap and guest friendly. You can email for a reservation. Once you get there, you can check out apartments if you want to move or for next time if you prefer more space.

The morning you arrive, check in and take a walk on Atlantica and find Help. It's hard to miss. You can check the site for other clubs, but this is probably enough. Figure out what termas to go to when (not all are open Sat & Sun). At night hit Help after say 11 pm until whenever. Also get cell numbers of garotas you meet in Termas and Help and you'll have more pussy than you can handle.

You need a Visa to enter Brazil if you are American-you can search the site to find requirements and links to Brazil consulate.

Get the Pimsleur series for Portuguese and practice as much as you can. Having some Spanish helps but the more Portuguese you have the better.
