Sampa 101: Guide to Sao Paulo for Dummies
Introduction
This guide will attempt to give an overview of the hobby options available in Sao Paulo from my trip in November 2002. I stayed five days in Sao Paulo so my guide probably will have many shortcomings but I hope it will help newcomers to this city.
Sao Paulo is located south of Rio de Janeiro, a short 40 min flight, but it might as well be the Great Divide. Rio is the party town. Sampa, as the locals like to call Sao Paulo, is the business and the intellectual city. It is the financial capital of Brazil.
Sampa: The City
There are two airports like in Rio, the international airport Garhulos GRU is located on the outskirts of town and the local airport Congonhas CGH is located south in Campo Belo near Moema. If you can, try to arrive by the local airport as it will save you time. Using this airport, you will be in and out in minutes as luggage arrives pretty much as soon as you walk inside terminal.
I flew Rio to Sampa and my flight was ¾ empty.
Sampa is a huge metropolis. Lots of high rises and concrete. It is known to have higher crime scene than Rio. From what I understand the Jardims area is the most pleasant area of Sampa. As you go on the outskirts of the city east/west/north and south, the crime scene will grow. Fortunately for fellow hobbyists, there is no need to go there to look for pussy. Still never walk at night especially alone. Always cab at night. During the day, you can walk in the Jardims and Moema area to get some food, do your laundry. But always cab to go to your target destination. Sampa has a nice metro layout but I never got to use it.
Traffic
I was worried about transportation in Sampa, which might affect the hobby, but as it turned out traffic is heavy but moving pretty well. Drivers are aggressive like in any Latin country but very well behaved. They will let you enter a congested lane. If you live in SoCal like I do, traffic, what traffic?
So I never bothered with the metro and always cabbed to every destination. Expect to pay between 10R to 20R for every trip unless you go way far to go to Connection or Bacos American bars.
Getting There
Before you attempt to go anywhere, unless you are going to Café Photo or Bahamas Club, print the map and address of every location you intend to go to. Print the area i.e. moema, Pinheiros, print the general main street and print the detailed streets. Cabbies will appreciate help and you will save time and money.
Here is a site with excellent street maps:
http://turismo.terra.com.br/mapas/
Lodging
If you have a choice, try to stay in Moema or in Jardim Paulista area. I do not know about Pinheiros, another possible choice.
I decided to stay at the Parthenon Contemporaneo flat/hotel in Moema. It turned out to be a good choice for me. It is located in Moema, 3 min from Café Photo. Online quote was 147R a night but they were running a special so I got tagged only 110R per night for double room. The flat was spacious and very clean, super clean bathroom and comfortable bed. Free breakfast till 10:00. Pool with city view on top floor.
Hotels in Sampa unlike Rio are all garotas friendly. They did not check garota ID and no questions were asked. Well at least for this hotel in terms of ID check.
For sure stay away from financial district if you can.
Language
The hotel receptionists and the boates managers will speak some English. Expect no English from most garotas. Expect no English from taxi drivers. Knowing some Portuguese is important unless all you care to visit is Café Photo and Bahamas Club. Also if you try free lancers or agencies, odds are the speakers on the phone will not know any English.
Pussy Cost
The garotas do not make more than the garotas in Rio. Actually the garotas in Rio make a lot more.
The reason Sampa will cost you more is the cover than some establishments have, garotas get paid about the same amount. If you pay over 200R, you are being overcharged, there is no shame in being overcharged but just know what the cost is as many garotas will start their starting quote at 400R. Just stand firm and a deal will be struck if both parties want the deal done.
But yes, if you go to W, then you will pay through he roof. Many garotas I met in Sampa did not have a car and were just making ends meet. And yes, you can see Café Photo garotas drive Mercedes Benz as well.
Pussy Location
You will find most of the action in Moema, Pinheiros and Ave Paulista.
Most free lancers will have an apartment in the Jardims area.
Exceptions are American Bars Connection and Bacos located on the outskirts of town, in Tatuape and Sao Bermadino.
Shopping
There are several shopping malls but the Iribuera mall is conveniently located in Moema near Bahamas Club. It is very similar to Rio Sul mall in Rio. And yes many beautiful girls to look at. If you want to shop for T-Shirts, forget it but if you need to buy V, just go to the drogaria located on third floor.
Days of the Week
The hobby caters to businessmen so best days are Tuesday through Thursday, then Monday followed by Friday. If you hobby during the weekend, best is to get a repeat girlfriend as choices are very slim on weekends.
Hobby Options
1. Escort Agencies
2. Free Lancers advertising on the web
3. American Bars
4. Boates
5. Prives
6. Massage Parlors
7. Restaurants
8. Disco
Escort Agencies
There are a bunch of agencies advertising on the net. I do not use agencies as typically they will rarely send you the right girl. YGWIA - You get whoever is available. All the girls are on cell call and whoever is available is sent to your door. But yes they will try to match hair color, after all we may not be the dumbest fuck.
So as you might have guessed, I never tried the agency route but just know they are available if nothing else works.
Look in the yellow pages, daily newspaper, hotel entertainment guide for escort agencies.
Free Lancers
Free lancers advertise on several sites. Most notables are Mclass and Malicia. These sites have memberships to access the full catalog of pictures.
http://www.mclass.com.br/
http://malicia.com.br/
MClass shows only one picture of a garota if you are not a member while Malicia lets you see 10 to 20 pictures of a garota even if you are not a member.
Picking a garota by looking at pictures professionally made and even touched up is very difficult. You need to look for subtle things like lips fullness, chest angle, butt angle. Overall face is very easy to change with make up but nose and lips are more difficult to hide any weakness.
I tried Dani Mel at MClass as she looks extremely hot on the site but when I opened the door I got a big surprise, easily a 5 points drop off.
On the other hand I tried Adyla Porto from Malicia and she was as hot as advertised.
One thing you can do also is go with the voice of the girl when you talk to her on the phone. If she has a sensual voice, odds are she will be feminine and desirable.
Free lancers is a very viable option but still is hit and miss. Best is to get reviews or recommendations from friends. You can easily find 30 free lancers that are worth giving a spin.
American Bars
American Bar is my favorite option as it is as close as you can get to a Terma Rio style. An American Bar has a bar so food and drinks are served. It will usually have a pool, sauna so the customer can change in a robe if he wishes. The garotas work there full time. If they miss a day, they have to pay the owner 50R or run the risk to be fired. But as in life, not all American Bars are created equal. There must be 20 or so American Bars in all of Sampa.
Bomboa - Rua Capote Valente, 222, Pinheiros. Tel: 3064-6494//3063-2944
Their WEB site is: http://www.bomboa.com.br/
To get there, go on Ave Brasil, make a right on Teodoro Sampaio, make a right on Oscar Freire, then a right on Reboucas, then final right on Capote Valente as streets are mostly one way street. Their web site has a good map for directions.
Bomboa is opened Monday through Saturday, noon to 2:00 but it closes at 21:00 on Saturday.
There is a free daily buffet available from 19:00 to 22:00 except on Saturday when the feijodo buffet is available all day.
The entrance cover is 70R but as you order drink and food, the prices go against the 70R so unless you order over 70R of food and drinks you will get charged 70R for entrance. They also have a Sushi bar, excellent Sushi so I recommend trying some. They have different Sushi combos from 20R to 70R. A non alcohol drink will cost you 3R, a whiskey in the 20R range.
I can also recommend the salad excellent before pigging out on the buffet.
The buffet was good every day and not too salty.
The mansion is divided in ½ on the first floor. One part is the dining tables and bar area, more like a cafeteria. Other part is bunch of couches Playboy style. There is a live band and big screen TV showing sports. There is also a VIP room for more quiet times. Expect it to be full on Wednesday during futbol matches.
The second floor has a sauna and Jacuzzi room. The upper floors have the suites for sex.
The garotas can work during the day and/or night shift. They dress in swimsuits or dresses. They have very good attitude like in Termas in Rio. You can buy them drinks and make out as long as you want. Making out with them does not mean you are going up with them so in theory you could kiss them all but I am a "gentleman" so was following Terma rule and would kiss only garotas I was willing to go upstairs with.
The suite cost is 50R. If you prefer take out, the bar fine is also 50R, just know garotas are more comfortable going up. I would advise for take out only after knowing the garotas intimately so she will be comfortable.
The suite is big with nice double bed and nice showers. Like in Termas, they change all the sheet and towels after every run. 50R will get you 50 min before you get a telephone call then you have 10 minutes to finish so in reality you get 60 minutes. On Friday, it is so slow there is no telephone call so stay longer if you hit it off with garota.
140 girls work at Bomboa but 2 shifts so expect at most 80 garotas at night. Selection is pretty good, similar to Termas. I'd say range is 5 to 9 in talent with many 8's.
I tried Priscilla, Fernanda and Walkyria, all 8's. You can expect DFK, BBBJ, some rimming, no kids. What can I say? I loved this place.
The garotas will be very happy with 200R and some even for 150R. They do not quote outlandish price like 400R, worse case scenario is 300R and you need to counter with 200R, expect price negotiation to take no more than 15 seconds. You pay the girl directly in cash. You pay the cover as you leave and can pay in CC.
Athos Rating: Bomboa scores a 10.
Bahamas Club - Rua Dos Chanes, 571 - http://www.cyberbahamas.com.br/
This American Bar is a tourist trap and for well off businessmen.
The entrance cover is 97R and does not include any drinks or food so you will have to add any consumption. I had dinner there and the food was way too salty. The room is 69R. The garotas will start their quote at 400R but you can get laid for 200R.
The place is well lit and looks expensively decorated but unlike Bomboa, which has a party atmosphere, Bahamas is very cold. They have a cyber chat where girls take turn showing their boobs on the WEB.
The selection is good at Bahamas, some lookers but also some average looking ones. I'd say the selection ranges from 5 to 9, many 8's. Unfortunately most garotas are hardcore looking.
I tried Luiza with success and Angelica with mixed success. Expect DFK and CBJ but uninspired attitude. Expect also negotiation to go back and forth.
What was the scariest is half the garotas spoke very good English.
As you might guess, I did not like Bahamas Club despite nice selection.
Athos rating: Bahamas Club scores a 4.5
I also stopped inside American Bar Coniff by mistake and it was catering to locals. I thought selection was very average 4 to 6.5 but garotas attitude seemed very good so maybe Bahamas is the exception.
Athos rating: Coniff scores a 6.0
Boates
Boates are pickup nightclubs. You pay a cover charge, which gives you the right to mingle with vampires of the night. Tourist boates are Café Photo and Romanza as every taxi driver knows where it is located.
Cafe Photo - Ave Helio Pellegrino, 480 Tel.: 3849.2333
http://www.cafephoto.com.br
Café Photo is very well regarded by hobbyists and by garotas. It is supposed to offer Sampa finest pussy. My limited experience was very different.
Cover is 158R good for four drinks, you are given 4 tickets for the day.
The mansion looks impressive on the outside. Photo is three levels, so there is a bar at every level with live band. The third floor is reserved for VIP so I never saw it.
Garotas mingle in the first two floors, all making eye contact. They will come talk to you if you return their eye gaze.
I went on a Wednesday night and found the selection to be poor. I may have seen 1 or 2 7's, mostly older garotas and average looking at that. They all dress up to the max and fake being worldly but none appealed to me. If you need TLN, you will need to negotiate as in Brazil short time is the default service. Expect starting quote in the 400R but negotiate hard to 200R, 300R max if you see a looker.
I am sure I had to be unlucky as I have read too many good things about Photo.
Friday and Saturday are the worse nights with only the first floor opened for business.
Expect BBBJ and DFK. You can make out inside the club.
Athos rating: Café Photo was extremely disappointing 3.0
Romanza - Ave Nove de Julho, 5660
Romanza is another tourist trap with lesser selection and less number of girls than Photo. Expect girls in Romanza to also work at Photo. They just rotate.
Cover charge was 120R for 3 drinks. Romanza is a bit smaller with two levels, the interesting part was the common bathroom so there you can get a good look at girls. Also some girls followed me inside the bathroom that's how desperate some of them were. Garotas were not as good looking but some were younger. Many older ladies available, none appealed to me except 1 or 2 7's.
Most girls were checking every of my move. It was pathetic.
Athos rating: Romanza was just pathetic 3.0
Here is a list of other Boates and American Bars in Sampa
American Show, this more a strip show place than boate
Bacos American Bar located south of Sampa, Sao Bernardo, good review
Beach Club
Black Moon Cafe
Café Moulin Rouge
Café Millenari
Café Millenium, brand new so may be able to compete with Bomboa and Bahamas.
Cocktail on Ave Paulista
Connection American Bar with good review
Donna Café in Pinheiros 2 blocks from Bomboa
Fazendihna in Campinas 50 km outside Sampa. American Bar with Wed and Sat barbecue pool party.
Kilt on Ave Paulista
Moruna 644
Mithos
Musas
Ravenas American Bar
Prives
"Fast food sex" comes in two flavors in Sampa: Prives and Clinicas (MP's)
Prive has no front massage, it is what it is. You come in, pick a girl from lineup then fuck her in 20 min. There are some good Prives but I did not have time to check any. Expect to pay no more than 80R for a quickie.
Clinicas - Massage Parlor
MP's offer a massage and sex is offered as extra. In FranceBel it is even taboo to discuss sex openly and girls will be fired if any condom is found on her or sex is openly discussed but at 130R massage who is dumb enough to get only a massage.
So here is where it gets different. The massage is a front and the fantasy is offered as you can pick garotas only from pictures so you cannot see the lineup live. You are supposed to be smart enough to pick girl solely from professional picture.
Best is to get recommendation or get reviews.
I had targeted FranceBel, CelCenter, ClinicaMyWay and MilleCento but ended trying only two of them.
FranceBel - Rua Pascal, 1634 in Campo Belo tel: 11 5533-6955
http://www.francebel.com.br
Massage cover is 130R, which will get you a massage with one of 48 garotas. Selection is pretty decent, my best guess 5 to 9.
Photos of girls are pinned to walls inside a room, you can also see them on a PC monitor in the hall.
Girls who are busy or have not arrived to work have red dot. Those available have green dot. Those in the middle of session will have red and green dot with percentage of time left. So greener means almost available. It's really all silly.
So it's all hit and miss, some girls may not even offer any extra.
I tried Melissa who came highly recommended and she was a winner but I had to ask for extra. She would have finished me manually and orally at no extra cost otherwise.
I also tried Silmara but she was like a 5 points drop off from pictures.
You can expect to pay garota from 100 to 130R for extra. Expect DFK and CBJ.
Room is very clean, bathroom impeccably clean. You have massage and sex on the floor on a mattress with clean sheet.
It is an interesting experience for newbie.
Athos rating: 6.0 I had mixed results at FranceBel, and was a bit disappointed in selection.
CelCenter - Rua Dos Chanes, 63 tel: 5543-2374, 5542-9549, 5093-4386
http://www.celcenter.com.br
Carbon copy of FranceBel except smaller lineup, expect selection to range from 5 to 9.
I went there only once but extra was offered more openly and massage was shorter.
I tried Julianna who happened to make the layout of Brazilian Playboy July 2002 but she had an average face but great body.
Athos rating: 6.0 same as FranceBel, hit and miss.
Here is a list of several MP's, worth a look, about over 50 in all Sampa.
Abbobora
AdvanceVip
Alternativ
AmericanCenter
Berrini
Brooklin
CelCenter
ChingLing
ClinicaMyWay
Dra Oyama
EauBelle
FranceBel
La Belle Femme
MilleCento
I still recommend trying FranceBel at least once as it is a new experience and always good to add to your repertoire.
Restaurants
These are hooker restaurants. You can enjoy a meal and drinks and pickup a garota for take out.
Pizzeria Bar Da Ro - Rua Heitor Penteado, 474 Pinheiros
I did try to go there but arrived way too early. Go there between 21:30 and midnight. The minimum cover charge is 70R, on top add the food of garota of your choice.
Supposedly you can meet garotas who are not hardcore, some semi pros.
Restaurant W - Rua Alvaradoa 550, Moema
This is a high end restaurant. Everything is word of mouth so no advertising. Currently the line up is made of young garotas from Porto Alegre. So expect natural blondes with green or blue eyes, brunettes with honey eyes. I would not call these girls iniciantes but they are definitely lower mileage so expect passionate sex with DFK and BBBJ. They also have a book if you need to bone a famous model but that will cost you 5000R.
Cover is 150R. Food was in the 30 to 50R per dish. Drinks were regular cost.
Every girl is 600R whether a 5 or a 10.
Range was 5 to 10 but mostly 8's. I could have picked 2/3 of the girls and be very happy while at Termas and at Bomboa I could pick at most 1/3.
Most girls are lodged by the manager and they are under strict rules. Do not speak of other places like Photo. Do not stay overnight with customer. Some of these girls are part timers or on Spring Break.
I picked a blonde who had done some modeling and sex was great.
So it is a more expensive option but if you like lower mileage girls, this could be your place.
Restaurant is very nice with wood ceiling. There is also a VIP room where you can have sex with girl but at same cost. I think married men who are in a hurry use that small room which has only a couch and no showers.
I went there twice and on the second night, was considered a VIP customer so they waived cover of 150R and drinks cost if I picked a girl and cover was only 100R if no take out.
There is another W on Rua Al Irae, 37 in Moema but I never made it there to my chagrin.
You may want to call ahead of time as sometimes they have private parties and then most of the girls may be hired to cover the party and selection will be poor on those nights.
5052-1647 Ask to talk to manager.
Disco
Pros will converge to Love Story disco in the wee hours for last chance pickup. You gotta be a night owl for that, 4:00 or so.
Never made it there. But getting the left over, I am scared already.
Rio vs Sampa
If you had 4 days, would you rather be in Rio or in Sampa? There is no doubt, I'll give the edge to Rio with the Termas and beaches.
Having said that, Sampa offers some unique entertainment like W and Bomboa. I envy all the hombres on business trip for sure.
Garotas
Where is my bunda?
I noticed a difference in looks in Sampa. The bunda is a Rio tradition as all cariocas hit the gym every morning before hitting the beach in the afternonn, then hit the clubs at night. When do they find the time to sleep is another question.
The garotas in Sampa had more of a Euro look, very nice hourglass, all thin but not hard body like in Rio.
There were a lot less mulattas and black girls and more blondes.
But they fuck the same…passionate with high tempo.

Conclusion
Sampa has a very healthy hobby menu with many different options.
My favorite places were Bomboa and W. I also had a good time with a free lancer.
It would take at least a month to try all the options available so this guide covers the basics.
I hope to be back sometimes sooner than later.
I hope this guide is helpful to new visitors to Sampa and old veterans can add to it.

Wow. Thanks for the guide. But who you calling Dummy?
Athos,
Thanks for the detailed rundown on SP. Next time I'm thinking about 3-4 days in Sampa then maybe 3-4 days in BA to augment another Rio trip.
Bomboa looks great. I was surprised when you told me about Photo being so bad when you were there. I had heard like you the garotas were great but the prices were high to match.
Great guide. Thanks again. I'll try to put it to use.

What time does W get going? Can you go there by yourself? Is there a take out fee (or, do they have onsite rooms)?
Outstanding report, very helpful!
By Athos on Sunday, December 15, 2002 - 07:26 pm: Edit
Carlosh
W is a restaurant so you have to bring garota back to your hotel. Everything gets paid to the house, 150R cover + 600R for take out. Drinks and meal should be part of take out.
Do not come before 21:30 but make your pick latest by 00:30. Of course you can come by yourself, not sure I understand question. There is no outside sign but you know you're there by seeing nice cars and bodyguards.
Athos.
I am a breast man( No silicone please) and Rio offers all but breast (unlike TJ..Nicole for example). Any big breasted garotas in sampa ?
Except inflated prices, what Sampa could offer that Rio could not match ?
By Athos on Sunday, December 15, 2002 - 07:51 pm: Edit
rock3times
Brazilian garotas have beautiful breasts imho but not C or D cup. Nicole in TJ is 1 of over 200 I have boned in TJ. Don't remember playing with any other D cup. What I am trying to say is garotas have much better chests imho than chicas in TJ.
Sampa does have silicone unfortunately especially at Photo.
If you're happy in Rio, there is no need to go to Sampa.
I got the impression the garotas at Bomboa and W were not as professional as in Rio. As much as I love termas, most garotas are professional, granted excellent pros.
Selection is a bit different as more blondes and less mulattas. There is a much bigger free lance market. I enjoyed also the fact that there were no gringoes.
If I were to grade cities, I'd give Rio a 9 and Sampa an 8. Sampa is a bigger market but sometimes can be hard to hit while in Rio, all you need to figure out is which terma has best selection.
Check my forthcoming trip report, Adyla Porto has a natural C cup on a 4'10 frame.
Rock,
Check out Julia in my upcoming trip report. A 44DD working at Centaurus in Rio.

Athos,
Thanks for a great guide. A person could go out three nights a week for six months to different locations, and still would not cover all the clubs.
Thanks again,
Moondog
BT-I can't wait to see Julia. She was definately the exeption in breast size, but I had several garotas with beautiful natural C-cups.
Athos,
Since Delta is now flying to SP, I was thinking of my next trip in January to fly into SP, spend a few days there, and then fly onto Rio after that. Then return to SP, spend a few more days, and then go home.
One of the nice things about Rio is that you can start your mongering day from 2-4pm.
Anyways based on this report, I am thinking that I will spend 1-2 nights in SP and the rest in Rio. I will go to Bomboa 2X, and perhaps Cafe Photo and Restaurant W. That should cover it. Or maybe I can just go and hang out all day at Bomboa. Unlike a terma, it seems like they have some good food as well, which is one of the main reason why I leave the termas.
Let me know what you think.

BT
Next time I go to Sampa, I am staying at the Parthenon right by Bomboa so I can get another lunch option. I would suggest trying at least Bomboa once at lunch and once late afternoon, hopefully different lineup.
The food that you order is good, the free buffet is pretty good too. Sushi and salads were excellent.
W or putzaria is early like 22:00 while Photo is late midnight. I would suggest having dinner at W as their dessert was good and I assume they should waive dinner cost with garota pickup.
I would get bored staying all day in the same place. Garotas at Bomboa will stick to you all day after session, that was my experience.
Cafe Millenium has very good potential. Miruna 644 seems hot place to check as well.
Photo definitely deserves benefit of the doubt but I got the feeling of my shit does not stink.
I liked Bomboa best but my TJ partner liked W even better so everybody has different taste. Of course I am on a budget while he may not be.
Nice work, Athos. Thanks for the comprehensive guide!
Athos,
I have now made my return reservation for 1/29 - 2/11. I actually arrive 7 am Thursday 1/30. I am thinking to spend all day and night in SP, and then fly out late morning from SP to Rio, in order to make the 4x4 terma run Friday afternoon.
So I have 24 hours in SP where I can check out Bamboa, Restaurante W, and then perhaps Cafe Foto.
Then on Monday 2/10, I would fly to SP early on the 10th. Go back to Bomboa, and then perhaps Francebel, maybe go back to Bomboa, and then catch my flight that evening at 11 pm. I'd have to find a place to dump my luggage, but does that sound like a good plan?
BT
By Badseed on Monday, December 16, 2002 - 07:14 pm: Edit
Sounds like a plan. Dump your baggage at the airport.. if you have a diner's club card, there is a goo dlounge there which will keep your baggage, if not just work something out with Delta (extra-early checkin!)
BS
Perfect, Athos. Thank you, ever so much. Just what i needed.

Athos, di dyou ever get with that Japonese "BlowJob Queen" that they were posting about? I remember you saying you might look her up.

Thumper
No I did not try to hook up with Meyre Geixa as she is older (29-32?) than what I am looking for. But maybe another time, who knows. She sometimes ventures in Rio too.
By Joe90 on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 - 11:51 am: Edit
I think the reason Cafe Foto and Romanza had poor selection is that a lot of the talent has moved to Rio to work the tourists before, during and a bit after carnaval. I would still go there but W sounds like trophy hunting grounds. Thanks Athos for another GREAT report.

It's very possible about Photo, I'll give it another shot on my next trip.

I expected nothing less than this fantastic report. I hope you had fun.

Athos:
I usually agree with your assessments, but not on the one of SP. I found the quality poor to fair in Bomboa, found the quality very good in Cafe Foto, the quality good in Bahamas with the girls very friendly. I do agree on Francebel 6-8's. I can see how that can happen, given the short stays we were there.
About rimming, twice I had to take medicine to eliminate pw's after coming from Rio. Probably due to kissing the garotas after them having performed this practice on others. Luckily it is easily eliminated with medicine and hygienic practice.

Amous--don't answer this, it will freak me out
How does a righteous monger avoid chicks who give rim jobs--beach action, or, as I do, go early to the terma, try to be first in line????

Amous:
Hehehe, before you get toooooo freaked out, pw's could have been from raw lettuce and other green leafy things. Other than cariocas (who are all insane, anyhow), you will NEVER see a brazilian eating raw salad. OK, slight exageration - we'll dunk a head of letuce in a bowl of vinagered water for half an hour before carefully washing and eating it. But do you think they are that careful at MP and Alcazar and those other clipjoints most of you guys eat at? Stay away from raw greenery - it's all rabbitfood anyway.

Badseed:
I think I remember one study that quoted that at any given time in the US 10-15% (I'm not very sure) of the population was infested. I was rather quick to point my finger at cariocas, but it does seem like a very easy way to obtain it.
Luckily, usually one dose of medicine will eliminate it.
I think it's time to change the subject.

Yeah... let's change the subject. ;-)
Athos and other Sao Paulo veterans,
I am making my plans for my first trip to Sao Paulo. It is really a 24 hour layover for my fifth trip to Brazil, but I want to get this right. Here are my thoughts, and later a bunch of questions:
Since I'm going to be in Sampa for a little over 24 hours, I'm trying to make the best of my time.
I arrive at 7:30 am on the Thursday the 30th. I plan to check into the hotel stay at the Parthenon by Bomboa.
I plan to go to Bomboa around 2 pm and check out the lineup and probably get something to eat. After that, I am thinking to go to Francebel. Then back to the hotel, and then Cafe Foto around 9 pm. Anyways, that's my plan.
The next day I am flying from Sao Paulo to Rio when my true vacation begins. On my return, I'm going to fly on the 11th from Rio to Sao Paulo, and then drop off my luggage and then hit the town until my flight takes off at 11 pm.
So here are my questions.
1. Athos, you mentioned in one of your reports that if you were to do it again, that you would stay at the Parthenon by Bomboa. What is the address for this Parthenon?
2. Can anyone give me approximate taxi driving times between Bomboa and Francebel, and also, from hotel to Cafe Photo?
3. Is coming out of the airport as big a mess as in Rio? Anything that I need to be careful of?
4. I am thinking of flying to Rio from the International Airport in SP to the domestic airport in Rio. My reasoning is that when I return to SP on the 11th, I can check in 'early' and then get in a cab and go to Bomboa again. Is this a good plan? What airline should I fly? How do I make reservations?
I really appreciate your help since there certainly has not been written as much on SP as Rio.
Obrigado,
BT
1. Fly from the downtown airport in Rio, Santo Dumont (SDU), to the downtown airport in Sao Paulo (CGH).
2. It can take a long time to get to GRU in Sao Paulo. If you have an 11 PM flight, I would be in the taxi at 7:30 PM to go to GRU. Lines can get pretty long at GRU for international flights.
3. You can make reservations on Travelocity for both Varig, and TAM. You can make Varig reservations on both the Varig web site, or at United.com.
4. Make sure that you have enough time to get your tickets delivered here before you leave for Brazil.
Have fun.

BT
On the way back, if you fly from GRU, I'd skip SP entirely and concentrate on playing in Garulhos, there are several places there and some right by the airport.
On your single day in SP, I'd stay at the Parthenon Contempraneo as it is close to Photo. I posted the address of the other Parthenon Excellence close to Bomboa under SP - hotels - Pinheiros thread.
I would go to FranceBel early instead of Bomboa like 13:00 then hit Bomboa at 17:00 and go to the cabin before dinner as you need to hit Photo early around 22:00. I hit Photo late and may have been left with leftover. Well that's my theory behind everyone saying Photo has a great lineup and my experience of choosing between old and unattracive ladies.
I'll be interested to hear your experience at Photo.
Plenty of restaurants near the Contempraneo, go on main street and cafe, italian, food chain restaurants.
Bomboa is in Pinheiros, FB is in Moema, I'd say 30 min betweent the two places. Bomboa-Photo 20 min, Photo-FB 10 min.
For other hotels and flats in SP, you can check www.revistamagazine.com.br, that's the tourist guide web site.
Bluestraveller, I agree with Athos. A couple more helpful tips. When you land at the GRU international airport from the States, I suggest you take a shuttle bus from GRU to CGH (Congonhas domestic airport). The shuttles leave every thirty minutes and will cost you 16R. If you take a cab, it will run you more than 80R. From CGH, it should only be a 5R taxi ride to anywhere in Moema.
As Athos said, it is best to fly out of CGH into Santos Dumont. More available flights. Closer to city centers at both ends, etc.
By staying in Moema, Photo, FB, Celcenter, CGH are all within convenient reach. Hope this helps.
OK, let me try to digest what everyone is saying and amend my plans as follows:
1/30
7:30 am - Arrive
10:00 am - Check in at Parthenon Contempraneo
2:00 pm - Francebels
5:00 pm - Bomboa
9:00 pm - Cafe Foto
1/31
10:00 am fly from downtown SP (CGH) to downtown Rio airport (SDU)
2/11
10:00 am fly from downtown Rio (SDU) to downtown SP (CGH)
12:00 pm take train to SP international (GRU)
1:00 pm drop off bags
Hit local places around GRU.
11:00 pm Go home
Questions:
1. Are the places near the airport as good as the places in Sao Paulo? I got the impression that they are not as high quality. Remember that I will be coming off 11 days in Rio, so my standards will be high.
2. I am not worried about long check in lines for the 11:00 pm flight. I am Gold Medallion so I can check in at the first class line. If that is the case, I was hoping that I could leave at 9:00 pm for an 11:00 pm flight.
3. If I could find a place to dump my luggage, it seems a better plan would be to return on the 11th to CGH and then hang out in SP for the day, and leave at 9:00 pm for GRU.
4. Are all places camera friendly?
Thanks for all the help.

good questions BT..you are on the same wave length I am until we figure this big ass town out...I am two weeks ahead of you and will let ya know how I did ...similar plan as you...the arrival has been easy enough to plan ..but the return to catch the big bird home has a twist in it for planning purposes...If I find good enough places to play in SP I am leaving from SDU-CGH mid morning and then overnight in SP so I dont have to worry about most of your questions..if I dont like to action in SP I am catching a late flight directly to GRU from GIG....book the parthenon early as I have found it filled up on my days there...
Now why didn't I think of that? I should leave on the 10th for SP not the 11th. Then spend another night in a hotel in SP. That removes a lot of the complication from the trip.
I'll book the Parthenon today. Where did you make your reservations from SP to Rio?
BT
OK, I made my plane reservations on TAM so that is all cool now using Expedia. On Expedia, I could not find Parthenon Contempraneo. There are a lot of Parthenons in SP but not Contempraneo. Could it be one of the following?
Parthenon Saint Germain
Parthenon Crillon
Parthenon Saint Moritz
Parthenon Ilha Bela
Parthenon Sao Paulo London
Parthenon Manhattan
Parthenon The Must
Parthenon The Privilege Flat
Parthenon Nacoes Unidas
Parthenon The Universe
Parthenon Saint Lawrence
Parthenon Excellence
Parthenon Executive One
Parthenon Times Square Diamond
Parthenon Sao Paulo Nortel
Parthenon Central Towers
Parthenon Sao Paulo Jardins
Parthenon Le Corbusier
Parthenon Stella Vega
Parthenon Times Square
Pathernon Sao Paulo The World

First dump your coworkers and check the tourist guide at your hotel in case it might have some ads for boates in Gharulhos.
Looks like your best bets are:
Aeroporto located you guessed it by GRU airport on
Av. Monteiro, 143 in Cumbica, Guarulhos.
Tel: 6481-7534
Café Monik american bar in centro Guarulhos(?), Rua Estrela Zeraibe(?), 34
Tel: 208-3800
Either one should get the job done.
There is also this La Ronda on Av. Guarulhos, 142, Guarulhos
http://www.contatos.com.br/laronda/
but site does not look too promising.
Hope this helps and you can report on your findings. Boa Sorte...

Already I blew it. All the rooms are booked. Is there a telephone number that I can call, or maybe another recommendation.

Met up with a SP regular (United Airlines guy) who recommends the Hilton downtown.
Athos, great report. Combine it with earlier SP reports and the board has a lot of very useful info.
I was in SP from 12/26-12/29. Realizing it was a bad time of year when all the girls go home to visit their families, I still did well at BomBoa. I also went to Foto and was sadly unimpressed (BTW-you get 6 drink tickets not 4 for the $158R entrance) There were only 4 girls there. One was fairly nice with fake tits (OK by me) but she would not budge off of $600R for the evening. Funny, only myself and one other guy there at 11:00Pm at night. Guess she went home empty handed rather than have a few 100R in her pocket. I know I won't go back to Foto on future jaunts.
I also agree with your FranceBel opinion. although they have some real stunners, the overall experience was less than satisfactory.
You didn't mention the Dona Cafe. I have found some real pretty ladies there.
Of course the "Putzeria" in Pinherios is always a good locale. Large mix of talent in all shapes, sizes and colors. Even a few gems occasionally!
Good luck in your travels guys.
BTW-the planes leave every 30 minutes from the domestic airport in town. Varig, Tam, Go and others. You really don't need a reservation and I think Go has the best fares (usually $90US or less one way and RT is in the $140-150US range). I just go out when I am ready and catch the next flight to Rio. Makes it easier if I have someone I am enjoying rather than rush to catch a flight....he he!
GUY'S, GUY'S, GUY'S! The SP Hilton is in an CH "location". A few blocks away from Rua Agusta. 2 blocks away from Kilt, Cocktail, Vagao Plaza, et al. And next door to what I call the "Help" of SP. "Love Story"!
The only thing you can't really do is bring in more than one girl at a time! Also, your guest should have her "documento"!
OK guys... Thanks for all the input. I think that I have a schedule that now makes sense to me. Pls tell me what you think.
Thursday Jan 30
7 am Arrive at SP International Airport
10 am Arrive at SP Hilton
2 pm Francebels
5 pm Bomboa
9 pm Cafe Photo
Friday Jan 31
11 am Leave via SP domestic terminal to Rio domestic terminal.
Feb 10
6 pm Arrive at SP domestic terminal
8 pm Arrive at SP Hilton
9 pm Kilt
Feb 11
1 pm Bomboa
5 pm Cel Center
11 pm Leave back to USA SP international terminal.
I decided only to repeat at Bomboa because it is the only place with consistently good marks. I haven't read much about Kilts on this board but it looks like an interesting place.
Any feedack is greatly appreciated.

I bet you can get to Kilt by 8:00 if you try hard enough. I'm pulling for you. Get a cabbie who looks fast.
By Layne87 on Sunday, January 12, 2003 - 08:14 pm: Edit
BT- I am interested in your opinion on the clinicas...I am most likely going to skip them.there is something about them that does not sound right for me....I also believe you should try W instead of kilt...as nice and generous as you are I think you will find your next wife there...
By Moondog on Monday, January 13, 2003 - 02:41 pm: Edit
I hate to sound negative about a place if I have not been in there, but to me, W is somewhat a waste of money. Why should a person give the house R$300 just to take out the girl for an hour? She cannot meet you outside again, and you are limited to just a short time with her.
Are the girls that beautiful that they are worth the extra money? I don't mind spending money on the ladies, but I'd rather give it to them instead of the club. At least with Foto, the girls are on their own time and schedule.

By Moondog on Monday, January 13, 2003 - 02:43 pm: Edit
BT,
The Kilt is always good, but you will have a better time at Bomboa, as there are more activities for you there.
Moondog
BT, the distance from the SP Hilton to the Kilt is like around 2 long curving blocks. Should take you about 3-4 minutes. Personally, I wouldn't go to the Kilt before 10 PM. And never have. But, I see time is of a matter to you.
FYI, upon entering Kilt. Tell the host you want to sit at the bar. They will give you a credit card to keep track of your drinks. Remember, make yourself at home. You can walk around anywhere inside the joint. Upstairs are the bathrooms and private rooms where you can get serviced on the "spot". Don't pay more than 100 reais for a lap dance, strip tease, and bbbj (quicke). For bbbj, ask the girl "chupa sem camisinha"? You pay her directly, not the house. But, the house will charge you a little rental fee.
For take out. You got to buy her a ladies drink, about 30 Reais. For yourself, it's only a 1 drink minimum.
Good luck!
Guys,
I will be in Sao Paulo next week and looking for suggestions as I am a newbie and don't apeak teh language. I will be staying at the IC (Inter-Continental). How far is that from Bomboa or Cafe Photo? Or would you suggest something else?
Thx
scubadiver59
By Athos on Monday, July 14, 2003 - 09:22 pm: Edit
Where is the IC?
Hopefully by Jardims...
Bomboa is in Pinheiros, Photo in Moema.
Action is spread out in SP not like Rio but very central Jardims, Moema.
Since you don't speak the language, I'd head to mp Antares and visit Renata or Fernanda(ex Roberta) and you will thank me, R$115 total for top 25 lifetime.
Forget Cafe Photo, girls have bad attitude. Go to Bomboa, no need to speak any Portuguese, it's basically very competitive so girls will go after your ass. Next night go to Miruna. Connection is too far for newbie.
You may want to try Vagao Plaza but Bomboa has over 100 girls on any given night so basically one week is not enough to try top tier.
If you don't mind spending W is ok but language barrier may be too much imho.
Stick to known quantity on your first trip. SP should be great by this time of the year.
Athos,
Sorry, I will be staying at the Blue Tree Towers Berrini at RUA QUINTANA 1012. I got my days mixed. I will be at the IC on Chile on 7/23. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you are looking for hotel locations close to the action but more moderately priced than the Hilton check out the Transamerica flats, hobby friendly they average $40 per night for a small but modern two room suite with two bathrooms. Located throughout Jardins you are pretty much in the hub of the action.
http://www.transamericaflats.com.br
If you are in the neighborhood of Kilt also check out Club Royal and Cocktail, for those of you interested in some dark meat these two clubs provide some of São Paulos better selection although both are not to be visited before 1130pm entrance at both is R$35 with 1 drink ticket.
An evening cab ride from Jardins to either of these locations OR Kilt should run you no more than R$15 although if your cabbie takes you down Augusta be prepared to pay more as the traffic slows to a halt at times.
For those of you willing to venture off the beaten path take a look at Riguelly located in Penha, the location is terrible but as they now provide a free taxi service its more bearable. the owner is Nelson Almeda an ex-Vale Tudo middleweight champ. The clubs layout is excellent with swimming pool, showroom, big bar, outdoor BBQ, and mini hotel onsite. Its a relatively new facility completed this year at a cost of over 3 million US.
Café Gauguin is another potential hotspot for you business types here located near Berrini the club is Brand spanking new but still well laid out. You have to take the girls home as there is no on site suites but the R$40 entry is worth the atmosphere and live music.
BB, tell us more about this Cafe Gauguin? It sounds interesting!
Is is open Sunday's? It's business hours? Are we required to buy a ladies drink for the garota to leave? How many garotas are available on any given night? And most important, what is the going rate? 200R, 300R, more or less:-)
Obrigado, sf4dfish

R$40 is real cheap for Cafe Gauguin. I was charged R$120 cover at Casa Haras the other night.
R$40 Reais barfine/ 2 R$20 real cocktails
Average 35-50 girls avalible 80% are 7-8
Light smattering of 9´s and as anywhere the few odd dogs thrown in.
Minimum they can charge is R$150 but average seems to runs R$250.
Not sure on Sunday opening but will post as soon as I find out.
The entry fee is cheap as the club is still brand spanking new.

Badbrazilian,
Thanks for the info. Sounds like fun.
Gaugin website:
http://www.gaugin.com.br
R. Arizona #1550
Brooklin
+55 (11) 5506-5000
Damn left out the contact info yesterday LOL
Well I am realy hoping that nobody hit Gaugin yesterday as it really BLEW! about a 1 to 1 female ratio which isn´t to cool HOWEVER the girls were only 7-8s MAX. Sorry to say but I think the Café needs a few more months to expand there selection. IMO I think Gaugin is the nicest Venue and its ONLY lacking a better selection of female company. The location, structure, food and drink are all excellent and more reasonably priced than Photo, W and Bahamas but they just aren´t up to snuff on the female company.
I will be hitting them once a week or some and will post when things start looking up.
On my last trip, I was staying in Hilton Morumbi which is very close to Gauguin but did not have time to check it out. I was so busy to have fun at other places. I ensure to pay a visit to this place. Based on the address, it might be walking distance from the hotel. I think the website is www.gauguin.com.br. (name correction).
Thanks for that spelling fix. It is within walking distance of the Hilton approximately a block behind and one block towards Bandierantes. Hilton to there shouldn´t be more than a 5 min. walk.
By Porsche on Thursday, February 05, 2004 - 01:27 pm: Edit
offtogolf, Any problems bringing guests into the Hilton Morumbi?
Porsche,
No problem. Just walk with your guest to the elevator which is right behind the reception area (if you have not been the hotel yet). No one will bother you. If your guest visit you while you are in your room, your guest also can walk right to the elevator if she knows where she is going. Otherwise, hotel staff will escort the guest to your room and ask you to sign the form.
I've been in Hilton Morumbi a few times and know a few people working there. I often asked my guests (ladies, friends and business partners) to come up to executive lounge, I don't believe no one ever was stopped or harassed by hotel staff when my guests told them they visited me at the lounge.
Staff at Hilton Morumbi are very friendly and good people. It makes staying at Hilton Morumbi much better and comfort experience because hotel itself offers very nice facility - great bedroom, clean and spacious bathroom, excellent restaurant, bar, fitness center and swimming pool.
Hope this helps

Thanks for compliment but this guide is a bit outdated as things change quite a bit.
For mp´s, I´d say Antares and Cherry are the 2 best for quickies at affordable price. Don´t expect an 8 to show up, expect a 5 with cbj and it can be fun.
W is closed and has been replaced by other places.
I like the boates better, my favorite place being Bomboa but you can also find ninfas at Connection.
For hotels I recommend going online at accor site and get a room in the R$110 near ave Paulista

This is a very nice guide to Sao Paulo!
Before I became aware of club hombre, I had a business trip to Sao Paulo in the year 2000. For 2 nights in a row a could hear a woman's moaning in the next room.
Now I realize what Brazil is all about and the time I wasted back then!
Thank you again for your efforts on this guide
I am not sure if they are called "Prives" but there are places on R. Da Consolacao as it intersects with Paulista. Short walk from my hotel, the sign out front says "Relax" you walk up the stairs, music is playing and the girls are all sitting around. You pick one and select the time. R$20 for 20 minutes, R$30 for 30 minutes, on up. Last time I was here they had hot chicks. Stopped in late just before they closed and took a nice looking girl to the back for 20 minutes. There are few more of these places down the street a bit. I suggest daytime because it is Slim Pickens around 2200 hours when they are about to close.
By Laguy on Monday, July 17, 2006 - 03:54 pm: Edit
Dtbctrek: The address is Rua da Consolacao, 2388. I wrote the place up in Tree View under Sao Paulo prives about a year ago. However, the place is truly hit or miss, with miss being the norm. There is another similar place about 1/2 a block further down Rua da Consolacao (towards Centro, same side of the street), which is also worth a peek to see whether something worthwhile wonders in, but normally it is only for those with strong stomachs.
