Wednesday,
Wrote a few post-cards to those who requested same.
The hotel had a strict 09:00 check-out policy. This negated any thoughts of going back to the citadel for another look-see.
Instead they arranged to deliver my suitcase to the train station.
I passed on breakfast and went for another walk through the town, in the bright sunlight.
P.S.: If you can; stay overnight. It makes all the difference in the world. AND, you may get lucky with some backpacking chica from a far away land!
First I had a cappuccino in some resto overlooking the river.
Then, I went on a hunt for a mask and a painting.
Next, for a 1 hour Inca massage that was the best 25 bucks ever spent. The chica was small, but with strong hands and she hurt me! She really did! The hot & cold stones on my back were another novelty!
Had another wood-fired pizza pie, and a beer.
Sat around, took a few snaps and slowly made my way to the station @ 2:45 p.m. just before the sky opened up.
A divorced teacher named Joe from Philly, proved to be an interesting conversationalist, as the 2 dudes from Venezuela, didn't say "boo" the entire 4-1/2 hours.
Train pulled out at 3:25 and didn't arrive in Cuzco town until 8:05, or so. They did have both local entertainment and a fashion show to break up the journey. And a light lunch.
P.S. The Asian hottie was from San Francisco, and yes, I did get her number!
