In March, I made my first trip to Lima. With very limited Spanish, I still had a great trip and have already booked another trip in June. The success, and all of you know what I mean by that, was largely due to the great information I was able to get from this site, especially from RTGooch. For people who are looking for all the hands on information, read the trip reports by the Peru experts found on this site. I am just updating some of the information and relaying my experience on TR, Maria Luisa, R & V, and some restaurants during my three nights and four days in Lima.

Tequila Rocks - Went there two of the three nights in Lima. The first night was a Friday night at around 2am. The place was pretty packed and the looks run the range. But it only takes one and I found one originally from Iquitos. Went there again on Sunday night. There ratio is ridiculously in your favor. Unfortunately, the quality was night as good this night (2am). Was about to leave when i saw this really hot Colombiana. She asked for US$300 for one hour. I was like are you kidding me, but she was by far the best looking one there and can those Colombians move. Of course I bargained and ended up paying 200 for TLN. I know much higher than the 100 going rate, but I was up from the Casino and she was Colombian.

Relax y Vida - I only ended up going to #1, because i couldn,t find #2. Also looked for the Ozona spa in Miraflores and found it to be closed. I think the address for #2 found on this site is wrong. Maybe someone else can clarify. The host at #1 was going to give me directions, but I was quite happy at #1. What can I say, but i went there three of my four days in Lima. As everyone else has mentioned the woman treat you like a king. A definite must on every visit to Lima. The only thing is now the cost for 1 hour is 90S and then whatever you tip your GF of the hour. Still every time was great and each time ran well over the hour, never feeling rushed.

Mari-Luisa hotel - I satyed there for all my nights in Lima and generally found the hotel was fine. I stayed in the Jacuzzi room for two nights and the senior suite for one, each different experiences. The jacuzzi is great fun with a woman, but the senior suite has a couch with a great view as a backdrop. the real update is that one night, the front desk woman gave me and my 'date' a hard time before she eventually let her go up. I guess it all depends on who is at the front desk. I did see a lot of couples and families staying at the hotel. I hope that is not where the hotel is going. I am still booking there for June.

Restaurants - La Mar or Pescados Capitales? To me, it is like saying which child, if I had any children, do I like more. Had great meals at both. La Mar has a more modern feel, both in its decor and cuisine. I think it is also dependent on your selections. For pure ceviche, my very slight preference would goto Pescados Capitales. You should try both. If for nothing else, to check out the hostess at each place. Both are stunning, who is better looking, like their restaurants, it depends on your taste.

Hopefully, people will find this update helpful as I have found all of your reports. If so, i will write another about my June trip to Peru and Colombia, clearly the 200TLN was inspiration. Keep on traveling.

I'm going to be at the Maria Luisa in early June before heading to Colombia on June 10th. It seems like we're following similar travel itineraries. How good are they at holding their reservations? Their system seems very... basic.

Re: RyV#2 -- the address is correct. You just have to take the leap that the office building that you're standing in front of has a room with young ladies waiting to treat you wonderfully for an hour. The building doesn't give off those vibes, but yes, it's true.

It was my first trip to Lima and they honored my reservation, even when arriving at 11pm. I did note the late arrival in my reservation. I think they are pretty good, but it is worrying when they have no cancellation policy.

In LA countries, it all seems to just work out in the end.

I stayed at Maria Luisa last year. The place is pretty dumpy but I managed to get by. The pics on the website are a little misleading. They don't take credit cards and you have to pay each day up front or you can pay your entire stay up front. I wouldn't recommend doing that though. All in all you pretty much get what you pay for.

I also encountered problems with the front desk girl at night on a few occasions. She's really strict on girls having ID and won't let them up without it. She also won't let you bring two girls up at once and would not bend on that.

At least they have free porn on tv for those nights you come back alone....

I stayed at the Maria Luisa recently and had none of those problems, though I'll admit it wasn't luxury digs.

I paid (cash only, that's true) twice, after four days they asked me to pay up an then again at the end of my stay.

They did my laundry for s/6.

The desk girl at night, while she gave me a bit of a dirty look, said nothing about bringing back girls to the room. Once I brought two back at once, still no problem. Didn't try three! And she did not check IDs of any of the girls.

I didn't try to bring back any girls during the day, so that may or may not make a difference.

Finally, my flight was delayed and I got in at 6AM instead of 11pm and they still held my reservation.

Overall a decent place to stay, and yes, you do get what you pay for. But the location is really perfect. It's a quiet street but close to the action.
